Wow, this is fantastic. I know fans complain about the cheering fans...but if you had been at a Beatles concert in the 60's...sound systems were awful and you couldn't hear them sing AT ALL for the screaming. At least we can hear Susan...Great stuff..

THANK YOU!!!! Susan is fantastic!

A BIT THANK YOU TO ALL THE ELECTRONIC WIZARDS THAT MAKE THIS SUCH A NIFTY SITE!!!

Susan was the absolute BEST EVER ---her day of rest really agreed with her. She seemed so comfortable and content and sang her heart out for Scotland!!

Got to repeat from the other blog, keep missing when we switch lol.

This was such a great rendition of IDAD, her best yet!! I am so thrilled; she is getting better and better and the sky is the limit!

Listen at 6:49 - when she goes - "but he was gone" - this is the first time she sang it that way and it is so West End! Best I've heard from her and I am so glad she was great tonight, especially as she's home. Sublime!

Oh and this is the video that reminds me of her audition! Same kind of power in it.

So great to hear and see Susan sing. Thought her voice was strong. I never tire of hearing her sing these two songs. The crowd loved her! Great job on getting the video up so fast.

Repeating from last blog.

Tommy you're great! You grabbed it. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Susan just keeps getting better and better. She's probably getting usedto the crowds. And I imagine she's becoming more accustomed bit by bit to all the hoopla that's surrounding her at each venue. Hard as it is, this tour is probably good learning for her. Just so she takes time to rest when she needs to.

Repeating my remarks from the previous blog:

Great seeing this video, even though you couldn't make out Susan's face because it was washed out due to the bright flood lights shining on her. A very exciting show, my heart was pounding throughout. It was great hearing the crowd chanting "SuBo SuBo SuBo" during various part of her performance. Finally Stephen Mulhern saying at the end "I have never heard a reaction like it! Susan Boyle! Wow." A wonderful homecoming for Susan!

Absolutely fantastic, I knew Glasgow and the Scots would welcome their daughter home... Brilliant!!!

@Tommy, to repeat a post from the end of the last blog, you've got mail.
Posted by PWattis on June 15, 2009
Bravo, Susan!! Absolutely beautiful again!! I hope, however, that you are not as annoyed with the crowd noise as I am. Someone needs to teach them concert etiquette. You deserve the respect of absolute silence from each audience member until the last note of each song is finished.
Posted by purplegothicqueen on June 15, 2009
That was incredible! I felt quite emotional watching and listening to this. What a fantastic reception she received. She sounded marvellous too, really polished and looking good even though it wasn't that close up. Good sound quality and picture.

Thank you ever so much for sharing this.

Will it be on youtube?

I wish I could stay up all night listening to this, but I have work in the morning.

God bless Susan!

Wow- Susan- Thank you for giving us your all, your wonderful voice. We love you. I loved your performance, it seems like you were really enjoying yourself and performing tonight. You are Fantastic. I love seeing and hearing your powerful voice. I felt you send out love to the world; your performance is so powerful. I love you Susan. You rocked the World again tonight.

Oh, thank you so much for the video. More tears, and so very much pride in our girl. Sensational, wonderful, beautiful, stunning - running out of adjectives again. Seeing her homeland cheering her, even though they obscured her singing at times, had to be heartwarming for Susan. She can sleep well tonight, knowing how loved she is.

She is truly a miracle.

Two more, they are coming in fast now!

This one has an iffy video due to the light, and audio is so so but it's Susan so who cares, we have the other two The first part has her exiting the stage too!

So wonderful to see Glasgow receiving Susan that way I knew they would...! She looks beautiful and she should feel great for being recieved that way..! Thank God she is getting the recognition she so deserves. I am glad she is picking and chosing her tour dates..it has got to rack her voice to sing those high and low notes especially with 2 shows in one day! well just checking in with my thoughts lol hope you all have a good one Kat Florida

Thank you for the videos!! She was awesome tonight. She looks more confident and radiant than ever, and she keeps getting prettier and prettier every time I see her. I am one of the few, it seems, who is thrilled that she is fixing herself up with a new, stylish hair cut, wearing some make-up, etc. She has the right to look her best, just like any other female. She's looking 30 years younger now than at her first audition. The reaction of these crowds just has to lift her spirits to the heavens. I am so happy for her. Not since the Beatles have I seen audiences reactions like these. So wonderful!

@MisTia: Uploading as we speak.
Posted by MisTia on June 15, 2009
@Kalua - just as long as we get them dear, that's all that matters! Wasn't she just great! :D
Posted by ammo on June 15, 2009
Can't believe I am STILL crying....That was so wonderful. She must have had a great view of the audience tonight. I know that being on stage...you can only see the first few rows of the audience because of the lighting...and tend to look over top of them...but there were so many coloured lights waving...they must have handed them out or sold them before the concert....it must have been wonderful for her....Then the lights seem to come up at the end....so she must have been able to see her fans. Shouts of SuBo....which I think is now going to be THE SHOUT...and SUSAN....it was abso-bloody-lootly FANTASTIC.....Pardon the French, as we say. I'll be watching this again and again....knowing she was in her homeland...Wow..Wow...Wow....

Howdy Pards,

Stunning performance indeed! And that crowd was electrified in their response to Susan! Spectacular!

Oh, fellers it just don't get no better than this. SUSAN'S TRIUMPHANT RETURN TO SCOTLAND!!!!

No words can express the pure joy, happiness, and wonder of it all! As I said in my last post on the previous blog, this ol' cowhand is, once again, sheddin' a tear or two. Our Superstar will get the same reaction tomorrow night at the Playhouse in Edinburgh. And, just wait till she shows up in the States...we're gonna do our best to make her feel just as wonderful as she must be feelin' tonight!

I can't think of any single performer in the world who can bring us such unbridled joy as Susan Boyle can. Her star his just risen even higher into the Heavens! And we thank God for givin' our undeserving world this wonderful Angel from Blackburn, West Lothian, Scotland!

This was the moment when Susan's dreams came true! And, she lived happily ever after!

Adios for now. Talk to ya on down the trail.

Wild Ol' Dan

Just did a search on Susan's name on Google: 21,400,000 for susan boyle. This is incredible. I just watched the Glasgow video and so many folks are online at once trying to watch this that I had to run and ask my son is he was running a download! It was that stuttery! I have not seen anything like this reaction since The Beatles!!!
Posted by Ruth F on June 15, 2009
A big thank you to everybody who worked to get the videos uploaded!

WOW!

This, more than any other performance, has to be the realization of a dream for Susan. Imagine: She grew up, what, 25 or 35 miles from Glasgow? She must have imagined this day a thousand times through the years.

Once again, brava Susan!

Posted by pottedferne on June 15, 2009
incredible...just incredible....the strongest performance so far even with the bad acoustics. just imagine a CD done with studio editing.....Oh My Goodness!!!

Susan is using these non-televised performances as live rehearsals.

When I saw the first video tonight, 2 songs, I was crying...and thinking about Susan's mom. I cried because her mom is not here to see her beautiful daughter and the world's reaction to her...in many ways than one. I just WISH, more than anything I have wished for (apart from my family stuff), that Susan's mam had been here...That's one of the reasons I cried all the way through those 2 songs in Glasgow....
Posted by texun on June 15, 2009
I am speechless ... the most brilliant performance yet. Stunning, simply stunning.

As a note: in previous posts, it has been reported that she was booed in Sheffield. Could it have actually been the fans yelling "Su-Bo"? How could *anyone* boo this incredible woman???
Posted by mina on June 15, 2009
what a great audience this time!! in this case i liked the cheering ect a lot, even though to watch it was to noisy in one way....

but i am so happy for susan to see how loved she is from the crowd. SUSAN YOU DID GREAT!! your dream came true!!!
Posted by PWattis on June 15, 2009
Thanks go DocRobbie for the longer video and to Mis Tia for the link to the closer up version. From far away it looked to me like she had a different dress on, but I was wrong. I noticed she took her time more during I Dreamed a Dream. Each performance is different, but equally mesmerizing. She probably would not like it if she knew that so many people are watching her all her separate performances of these same songs. I would be a little freaked out by that. It different somehow than listening to the same recording over and over. But of course we have to. We have no other way of hearing from her. I couldn't tell if she was smiling at the end.
Posted by Casey'smom on June 15, 2009
Wild Ol'Dan, yes, that was wonderful but imagine whem shee goes to the US, I'm not American but I know that the US will treat her like royalty. I, for one, and from the Cdn response here, would not the only would go to the US to see her with other Susanites from the US.

She probably won't be coming to Canada for a while, it's a big contry but with 1/10 the population of the US.

Now to be fair there were a lot of different acts in this show, therefore people from all ages having different interests in the acts of the show, but the audience reaction was awesome! Made me cry, again....but, it's a good cry, a cry of happiness, sigh...
Posted by fumingjane on June 15, 2009
texun, yes. I am speechless as well. tears in eyes. Wish audience would be more demurring....

Love to the village.

GREAT JOB with the upload!
Posted by MisTia on June 15, 2009
@PWattis - yes, I thought the same about the dress before I saw the second one.

I thought this rendition of IDAD from tonight was the best. As you say she took her time, and this song is meant to be sang slowly so I am particularly glad that now that she can do it, she did.

And I still can't get that - gone - out of my head. Oh did she do that part brilliantly. Sends shivers down my spine! The best by far in my opinion.
Posted by ammo on June 15, 2009
I truly thought I was all dried out 'tear-wise' after the first few times I watched the clips of Susand on BGT...but she 'got me good' tonight... Wow...am gobstruck again...and the same songs...but yet...so much different...it's amazing. Mind you..I have been on stage for 3 weeks at a time in ameteur plays and Musical Halls...and even though you are doing the same thing night after night...it IS a different performance...different things come into play...and audience reactions can affect your performance(s)...

I truly hope, one day soon, to be seeing Susan in concert. I visit England every summer...gotta time it so I am there for a concert.....even if I have to change the time of year of my visit....Just HAVE to be there to see her in person. This is amazing...joking aside...I know I prattle on a lot...but I am blown away, yet again, by this video...My reactions surprised even ME...
Posted by YourAwesome on June 15, 2009
DITTO!!! Wild Ol'Dan...If we only get one word for Susan....I would have to say (Blessed)

She is such a blessing to the world. God saved the best for last!! AND..we are the lucky ones, we get to listen to her angelic voice! :)

Tomorrow in Edinburgh this great lady is going to rock the whole of Scotland!!! And then Aberdeen!!!!!
Posted by dyebat on June 15, 2009
Simon Cowell was supposedly in the audience tonight. It must have been strange for him to come back here and see the woman he sneered at 4/5 months ago, who is now his greatest protege.

Posted by Lonnirose on June 15, 2009
texun, I had the same thought when the crowd was yelling, SuBo, SuBo - I bet that's what some people heard in Sheffield and thought it was booing. I have watched the Sheffield video many times and I have never heard anyone booing. Another tabloid lie.

I live in a tourist - little town...on shores of Lake Erie...surely someone else from Port Dover must be here on site....

Susan, your dream is coming true. Your fans cannot contain themselves for joy. Your BGT Tour performances that I have seen via video, in my opinion, are demonstrating a very rapidly blossoming rose of professionalism, grace, multi-faceted vocal quality and range, and stage presence. I am thankful that you have a good management team in place -- people who have your best interests at heart.

Thanks to the fansite administration for your services -- really like the new images in the banner!

Thank you for the upload here; and for the ones showing up in Videos as well, those who did them. But the audience screeching drives me bats and I wonder if poor Susan can even hear herself sing! Guess I'll have to wait until she 'records' in a studio before I really ever bother listening to her, cuz I can't take much of the audience's nonsense. I would NOT wish to be there.

Am beginning to wonder if it's even worth bothering to go to a live performance if Susan ever does come to the US--something tells me this over-indulgence in 'extreme noise' while she is trying to sing isn't ever gonna calm down. Well, that's for others to endure--most definitely, NOT me.
Posted by DJG-Scotland on June 15, 2009
@ammo - of course! It will be the same procedure as the other 3 I've done. It's a 160Mb file though so that's going to take a while to get up to the server.
Posted by gardenator on June 15, 2009
Just arrived home and was thrilled to see Susan's HomeComing! Fantastic !!! Thanks to all who have posted the videos. Going to watch them again and again. As to the cheering and shouting, I loved observing the crowd's adoring reaction. Just as for the Beatles, Elvis, and maybe Frank Sinatra (before my time), you might as well try to stop the tide from coming in as to stop the screaming fans. There will be venues where Susan sings while the audience sits silently by -- and there is always that CD -- but this is not the venue for that. I am glad the Scottish people cheered for their Lassie. I enjoyed every second of it. Gonna Do It Again...
Posted by Scrooge on June 15, 2009

Thanks Scrooge: I have 'everything' crossed. Makes me walk bit funny. But, hey 'what the hell' oops! sorry about that...:)
Posted by PWattis on June 15, 2009
Allikat, I totally agree about the noise. I do plan to see her live someday. I just pray that other audience members understand concert etiquette - that you show respect and admiration of a performance by being silent until the very end.
Posted by Scrooge on June 15, 2009
@ammo..What the Hebrides? Oh I am so Scottish these days.
Posted by MisTia on June 15, 2009
@2SusanBFans

You're right! I cranked the volume up, my poor ears, and she did say "Thank you" and then "Good bye"! Great catch!
Posted by PWattis on June 15, 2009
@Mis Tia, yes she was actually rushing the music at times in other performances. I think its a sign she is settling in and getting more comfortable.
Posted by ammo on June 15, 2009
Allikat: can't remember your 'generation' :) but this is l00 per cent better than going to a Beatles concert in the 60's. Sound systems were terrible...couldn't hear ONE note because of screaming fans....I am sure when Susan performs on concerts, after this tour....we WILL see different audiences..well, maybe the same fans...but in a calmer setting. Everyone is just so fired up at the moment...who can blame them. If I was there....even at MY age...I do think I too would be screaming......
Posted by ammo on June 15, 2009
Scrooge lol yes I meant What the Hebrides....good on ya mate , as our Aussie friends say...
Posted by Scrooge on June 15, 2009
Does anybody know if Susan actually gets paid for these gigs? I sure hope so, since she's lived on beans n' with it for far too long.
Posted by PIGGIE on June 15, 2009
I've got such mixed emotions right now. So much happiness seeing Susan perform so superbly. I, too, agree this was her best yet. A true Star has been born. Also some wistfulness for the wee lady from Scotland we saw on April 11th. That lady may still be there inside, but not on stage ever again. And sadness that her mum and dad can not see their daughter emerge as this beautiful butterfly, beloved by literally millions around the world. But of course they are seeing it, and are just so proud. This is just such an incredible incredible story. I honestly don't know how Susan could really remain grounded. I think I'd be a total mess just from the sheer enormity of it all. I'm a mess just standing on the sidelines.

Posted by pottedferne on June 15, 2009
with due respect to everyone who objects to the cheering from the audience...just how do you think Susan would feel if she walked out on the stage to a mute response with everyone sitting on their hands!!!!

the day will come when a studio controlled recording of Susan singing will be available without the crowd noise for a fee..so enjoy Susan's "moment in the Sun" and revel in the cheering for her ..I certainly am!!
Posted by Scrooge on June 15, 2009
@thanks, ammo lol back in your particular direction.
Posted by PWattis on June 15, 2009
@ammo, I'm sure Susan thinks of her mom. In one of her first interviews she was talking about her mother and she looked up at the ceiling and said something like: Are you up there? I know you are. It was very touching. I'm sure she feels her presence.
Posted by JaneES on June 15, 2009
No more putting on my make-up before I listen to Susan! I just cry it off! I don't think I have ever heard a more beautiful voice!!! And such a beautiful person!!! WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!
Posted by MisTia on June 15, 2009
@PWattis - yes definitely. I think the time constraint that the BGT has probably messed with her (2 minutes I think) and only now is she beginning to relax. Great night!

Susan done godsmacked the world again- BRAVO!!
Posted by DocRobbie on June 15, 2009
There are two very nice posts by Teesiel on her first hand account of her experience of the Glasgow show, at the end of the previous blog. She also got interviewed by a TV station! She also commented on this video in the video section.

My reaction to this video after calming down and watching it a few more times:

A truly great performance of both songs, the best we've heard so far. Confident, strong and clear! Susan really delivered in her home country, and boy did they ever show their appreciation!
Posted by mina on June 15, 2009
ALLIKAT and PWATTIS, the audience in this case is different as when she is singing alone! this is the bgt tour and 9 other performance are on stage each night and everyone has favors in the audience, so i believe when she has her own tour, people acting at least during her performance different and of course i would CHEER LOUD TOO,BUT WHEN SHE IS FINISHED!!
Posted by Godscre on June 15, 2009
Great to see her. She looks and sounds great. What a gal!
Posted by PWattis on June 15, 2009
@pottedferne, what should happen is that there should be roaring applause when she walks on the stage - could even go on for several minutes - should could even have to ask the audience to quiet down. Then silence while she sings. Then roaring applause and standing ovation when she is done. In fact so much applause that she needs to have several encores ready. That's what I think and hope will happen in her own concerts.
Posted by Scrooge on June 15, 2009
@pottedferne: I agree. We get to listen to her for free in our homes and we don't have to fight any crowds except for family members who are trying to put the moves on our popcorn bowl.

Ammo ~ That is my only lament -- that Susan's beloved Mother was not in the audience. But then I think, she must be watching from The Great Somewhere...and happy indeed for Susan.

When I was watching the video on YouTube, one of the thumbnail videos on the side was of her audition. I can't even put into words what it felt like looking on the right side of the screen at the innocent, naive Susan, and watching Susan the World Famous Star. How it all began with "My name is Susan Boyle, and I'm going to sing for you today on Britain's Got Talent." And now the world is at her feet. Wow. Wow. Wow.
Posted by Casey'smom on June 15, 2009
@Pottedferne, exactly I agree.

The whooing is annoying, the sound and visuals aren't great, but these are bootlegged filmings, without that we wouldn't have any videos. It's not being officially filmed to be watched for free on YouTube. These people are putting their necks on the line on a copyright infringement as BGT owns all rights and taking pictures, filming, etc, is not allowed. So let's just appreciate what we can get.

@fudgemeister: this tour is a reprise of the BGT TV show and that is what all of the people want to hear. After the tour she will move on to other material, I'm sure.

@PWattis: audiencens can be very rude. I have been to a concert of Vangelis in Rotterdam in 1991 and Vangelis was playing at the Eureka Festival there. He played beautiful, but then on the water (as you probably know Rotterdam is one of the largest ports in the world) the boat with the nobility and the queen came and a large part of the audience started to shout SINKING SINKING SINKING. What an audience that was.

@Ammo: I hope she does Russian tours as well. Then I will be first.
Posted by MisTia on June 15, 2009
Oh Teesiel is a dear, I am so glad she had a grand time of it! I am noticing that the people who end up seeing her are all describing the same glowing things. Great to hear that Susan is also having a great time watching the others. Maybe someone can post those two posts of hers here?

My computer screwed up my last comment... I will try and remember what I said...it was to Scrooge about beans n with it...lived on that so long...have some now and again to remember my roots. I also mentioned that I think my husband (ONSLO :) ) is glad I found you all because he can go to our local (close as we'll get in this part of Ontario...pub like...) and I lose track of time because I am here on the fansite... Don't know where my last comments went...Ken's just come home and shouted "Where are YOU?" I shouted, "Down 'ere"....which means in the basement home office on the computer...and he came back with "OH..what a surprise...)...

@Reinder....please don't think I would do that intentionaly....I just knew everyone was so anxious to get the videos....I promise, I will sit back next time, and let someone else upload the videos. Definately, no hard feelings, my friend....Blessings to you always. Tommy

Unbelievable performance! Audience was just what the Dr ordered. I am so happy for Susan! I love this fan club and all the uploads. And I'm happy I found a whole bunch of folks who feel the same as I do for SuBo. She's a miracle. I will fly anywhere she is appearing in the USA to see her live. Do you suppose we'll always react to her performances with so much emotion? It is a wonderful experience. Love that Susan!

Tommy, I think Reinder was jesting with you :)

I agree piggie...it would help if we could see an interview with her by some reputable person and maybe we could see the old Susan again. When we just see her on stage it is hard to remember the funny Susan we all fell in love with unless you watch the old videos. That is part of her charm...they should let her talk! I would like to know how she feels about this homecoming, etc. and everything that has happened to her. THANK YOU everyone for these videos. And Teesiel...where are you?
Posted by ammo on June 15, 2009
gardenator - that is MY problem...I don't have big somewhere in my head...shame really....that's why I cried so much watching the video and thinking about Susan's mom (mam mammy)
Posted by Scrooge on June 15, 2009
@ammo: Oh, beans, ammo, sorry you're computer did that to you. Hope this message reaches your basement OK! I myself lived on spam for a long time, the canned kind.
Posted by PWattis on June 15, 2009
I am appreciating what I'm getting - I know we are luckky to get these videos. I'm thinking about Susan. She deserves to be heard - for people to seriously listen to her. This should be considered the chance of a lifetime for these people. They should want to hear each and every note and notice every nuance.
Posted by mina on June 15, 2009
PWattis, you right, how could i write this? lets say bouhhhhing screeming....howling! lol (always trouble with english)
Posted by Allikat on June 15, 2009
PWattis, I'd never bother going to any huge 'stadium' venue to see ANYone--not even Susan--all people do is whoop and holler in those the entire time, so that nobody can hear a thing. Not worth the expense of admission, OR the long drive in to 'watch' such a fiasco. Have always felt that way, not just 'cuz I got 'older'. Caution--please do NOT believe that it won't happen 'everywhere else', too. It will.

I dunno--yeah, I'm really glad to learn that Susan is doing so well, for sure--but I do NOT 'enjoy' these 'screaming' videos, and guess I'll just be getting rid of all the ones I've so far downloaded. It's all become just so--disappointing. I'm sick of it, and that's putting it mildly. I'm truly and totally sick at heart.

Am still a huge fan of Susan's--always. Just not of the ridiculous audiences, and that's all I seem to hear. 'People' at large just plain ruin everything. And THAT will never cease. I did pop in here, but that's it from me; am not up to looking at more 'videos' (sheesh!) or pictures or commenting or rating or looking through blogs or--anything at all. None of this is 'fun' for me anymore.

There's a couple of posts from Teesiel on the previous blog!
Posted by PIGGIE on June 15, 2009
FROM TEESIEL:

GOBSMACKED! GOBSMACKED! GOBSMACKED! I HAVE TRULY EXPERIENCED THAT WORD!!

When we got there people were walking into the auditorium--the room for BGT Tour was about the size of half an NBA court. It is literally an auditorium with rows of connected folding chairs, attached cushions and a giant screen behind the stage like fanavision at pro sports. When we sat down the first thing I noticed was 4 men in suits chatting and immediately recognized one of them as the man who is shown in all travel photos with Susan--the tall guy with the salt/pepper gray hair. I asked him if he was the man I see in the papers with Susan and he chuckled and said "Depends what papers you read. Yes, I do travel with one of our performers."

Every performer wears their "Finals" outfits for every show--they have multiples of them. You have to see Susan's gown in person--it is exquisite up close--not the sack like look it sometimes takes on in videos.

Susan Boyle was perfect tonight in Glasgow! We were so close--6 feet away, that I could actually see where her eyeliner started and stopped. She looked like a star at Madison Square Garden, I am not exxagerating . The Susan on the original audition is no more. The 9 finalists all performed before intermission (from 7:45-8:45) Then Stephen Mulhern introduced Flawless who danced again. Then he said his line about the most googled person etc and Susan walked out!

Susan drew huge cheers, in the front she came through loud and clear (screaming from teen girls in the video stayed in the back) everyone let her sing and it was fabulous--the crowd was so respectful. Stephen Mulhern said "Glasgow, I mean this when I say..you have been the best audience we have had and you can watch clips of all previous shows and know I have not said that before. I really mean it."
Posted by Scrooge on June 15, 2009
I hope they have good security people at her next concert, because this one was so rowdy it almost got scary. Big burly men in kilts. Aye, Lassie!
Posted by 281165 on June 15, 2009
@Tommy: I have not a single cell in my body thinking negative about you. We are all about to get the videos here as soon as we can. My congrats were sincere. One has to be first. I think that a lot of videos are rejected because another one was first. I have no problem with that at all. It is indeed very good that you like I am on this wave of Suepersonic Boylemania.

@Ammo: NO, I do not live in Russia, but then the timezones work in my advantage! ;-)
Posted by PWattis on June 15, 2009
@Reinder, I know. I think it depends on the venue and the type of music. I am just saying what I wish for Susan and for myself when I see her live. I'm not saying I will get it.
Posted by TommyUSA on June 15, 2009
@aliz.....

Posted by Teesiel on June 15, 2009 After Susan's 2nd song--I Dreamed a Dream, she hesitated and waved and then she said "Thank you Glasgow". It was loud and clear. There are already Glasgow videos up so no need for me to forward mine (it is a keeper for sure) but when we do Edinburgh tomorrow if none are up I'll send mine into this site.

None of the performers say anything to the audience--Susan was the only one who did when she said thank you Glasgow. She lingered and then walked off. This is not a particularly professional tour and from the front row when you look to the left and right of the stage (because the curtain is not shut--by about 2 feet.), we watched Susan and the 2 grand grandad watching the acts from the side laughing and chatting.

What is my favorite part is they reintroduce each act at the end and they are all on stage while they wrap--for about 5 minutes and I loved watching Susan Boyle tapping her toe and bopping her chin up and down and lightly clapping to the music standing next to the sax guy. She was soooorelaxed.

I can't even describe the Susan Boyle who I saw tonight--Oh by the way for sure Susan is about 5'3" if she didn't have the heels on. Her professional make-up, the whole package was mind blowing. She seemed to really relax and showed no signs up nerves--it was a beautiful night and she performed beautifully.

The 17 yr old Shaun and the grandad had a bit of line skipping but we won't read about that I am sure.

I was stopped by a camera crew and asked if it was true that I cam from Philadelphia (the suburbs really) and then they asked me to do a chat. It's a big station--I will look for it tomorrow and if it's not too spazzy I'll post the link. On to Edinburgh--thanks for all of the kind words Susan Boyle fans.

TommyUSA, in case you didn't get my earlier message, you've got mail buddy.

Reinder, don't be upset, I'm technologically challenged so I'm just grateful to anyone who can get us the latest. Everyone here means well and wants to give us the latest news and videos, it's not a competition, it's just a good group of people working hard at satisfying everyone's appetite for the latest. Nobody is trying to one up the other, a lot of people are spending a lot of time surfing the web to satisfy our appetite.

I am reminded of the time when I went to a footrace and shouted and screamed for my favorite, who was a blind lady runner, thinking that she would be encouraged by my shouts. After the race she said that people were so loud she could not hear her team captain give her her marks!

Marvelous vocals, more restrained hand movements, pitch perfect vocal- huge amount of emotion and subtlety- best ever on the two songs. She is absoultely AMAZING. she needs to get on with the recording....does not need this tour- imagine how much a class act this was compared to the others? not to take anything away from them- but this is a WORLD CLASS ARTIST. FOR GOD SAKE! JUST STUNNING

@Allikat - So sorry for your disappointment. I also detest the noise and clutter but still want to follow Susan and try to sort through it all to once again see that grin and hear her tell us what she enjoys and wants in the future. Many of us will fade out a bit, but a good night's sleep and some reflection on how we spend our time...and we'll be fine. At 65 I am wondering if there aren't some good counsellors amont the umpty-thousand on this site who could give some advice for handling Susanitis. Be encouraged, Allikat, you have been a very positive fan here.

Well Susan nailed those songs tonight for sure...as for all the young people shirking screaming with excitement :-) Well you know folks there just young people not maybe appreciating the best way to respond with excitement is after the songs....as she does songs in concert in the future believing that to be her future it will be more of a demographic which know the best time to show their approval...but at least Susan knew the people were for her and were glad that she was there and im sure she was flattered and she probably got a chuckle :-)
Posted by chrisk on June 15, 2009
Teesiel, please post your video.

@Allikat: You have a case of the Susa-bends from diving too deep for too long a time into superlatives. Just pop in less often when you really want to. P.S. My tortoiseshell cat says hello and asks how you get out of the house, since I won't let her go and play in the alley.
Posted by PWattis on June 15, 2009
@Allikat, I wouldn't go to a stadium either. I have been envisioning a large concert hall when I see Susan. That's what I hope for. Time will tell the type of venue Susan will perform in.
Posted by ammo on June 15, 2009
@ Scrooge, my husband still buys and eats canned spam here in Canada...we cannot get away, and don't want to, from our 'humble' but very fine - upbringings.... You are a hoot with the footrace story...I believe every minute of it.

Reinder...I am a bit slow...but how do the Russian time zones help you on this fansite... I am going to learn something new here...I have that feeling again...thanks to the beautiful Susan...my world is widening more than I could have imagined...the knowledge I am absorbing because of Susan...is immense...I don't just sit and knit, watch t.v. and do crosswords now...mind you I have to fit them in somewhere in my Susandays....:)
Posted by Scrooge on June 15, 2009
@PWattis: the acoustics at a stadium are truly lousy and they always have a silly person playing the organ to fill up time.
Posted by DocRobbie on June 15, 2009
Thanks Misti_In_Seattle for the new very positive article on Susan's Glasgow performance. Here it is again, for those who may have missed the post:

Fans dreams come true

Ammo, very appropriate comments comparing Susan with the Beatles -- her fans just can't help themselves, lol. It's SusanMania!

Also, I really liked that the video was taken from the front center of the stage and the scene was so symmetrical -- the stage lights, the two spot lights from the front making shadows of Susan to the left and right of the stage.

Also, great comment from Teesiel, our on the spot reporter! I hope we can get to see a video of the TV station interviewing her -- her 15 minutes of fame!

Posted by Teesiel on June 15, 2009
@MJ from USA: You must go to a concert if Susan does one in our country. The charisma when she came out was quite moving--the hooting and hollering in these youtube uploads did not come through to the front and it is a beautiful experience. I just said to my 12 yr old daughter who will come to the Edinburgh show with me tomorrow night that now I really get why Simon Cowell is willing to walk on eggshells with her because she is truly star material--her personna is so endearing, yet she is just a girl's girl. I put 2 posts on the main blog about her during the show tonight when they all came out at the end. Also, my husband came to the show tonight and he actually said "Wow Susan Boyle owned that olace tonight--she was in a class all her own." He enjoyed her but not enough to go again tomorrow--bad boy:)
Posted by maigret on June 15, 2009
Teesiel. Thank You. Sounds wonderful. I love hearing that she's relaxed and enjoying herself. It's odd how comforted I felt that someone from the fan site was in the audience. Like you were a conduit for all our love and energy.

Ammo not only in Hamilton are their a slew of Scots. I have family members in Brantford and that city has more Scots than my hometown I think. I know they're all waiting to perform in Hamilton or at the Air Canada center in Toronto.I hope to see her here in NYC and then I will head to Toronto if she performs there. Susan is totally amazing. No doubt her parents saw her tonight. Passing over, is exactly that, its not disappearing, the Spirit remains. As a Roman Catholic I share Susan's knowledge that her mammy is watching and guiding her through this experience.

Wow, all the glowing reviews in the press for this show in Glassglow. Even the Sun had rave reviews for her! I didn't realize that this was the same venue where she stepped on that stage for her audition. How awesome it must have felt for her to step back onto that very stage tonight now as a superstar. Her mum was smiling down upon her.

I am just so overwhelmed...I can't believe we are so blessed, as to see this happening right before our eyes. We have followed Susan faithfully for 3 months now. I just want to say THANK YOU to ALL you SUSAN BOYLE fans for loving this wonderful angel, and for supporting her for all this time...I know that most of us are a little weary from watching and waiting for this all to come together. We have cried together, laughed together, been angry with tabloids, to the point that we wanted to just scream out to the world 'LEAVE SUSAN ALONE!!!'....But like I have said from the beginning, GOOD will prevail over EVIL every time...I will always believe that God has his hand on SUSAN....I have believed this from the start....from the very first time I watched her audition and cried like a baby, and smiling all the time...I love all you beautiful people on the fansite, and the rest of the world that loves SUSAN just as much as we do...She is truly a miracle....And I am so thankful, that miracles still happen....God bless you all, and SUSAN, I LOVE YOU!!

Yes Tommy God Bless! What you is so true, when we got angry we took it out on the site and it greated negative vibes but we were suffering from a communal pain and frustratin and the only place to was wher we knew people would understand.

We went through a lot of joy and a lot of pain, a lot of anger but at the end of the day, it was all well worth it, because the love remains.

God bless.

@Tessiel Thank you so much for being our eyes and ears at Susan's conert tonight. Your description made me feel like I was there and could see her eyeliner, lipstick and dress. Also it was great to have those details about her standing in the wings with the granddad from 2Grand, etc. You have truly gifted us with you onsite reporting. Do post the video since you were so much closer to the stage. Also look forward to seeing you on Scottish TV. I grew up in the Philadelphia suburbs. Which one is home to you. Again thanks. Have fun in Blackburn and at the concert tomorrow night.
Posted by AmazinglyCritical on June 15, 2009
Did you hear the announcer at the end of the Close Up clip? "I've never heard anything like it, Susan Boyle". Her voice really carried tonight. You can tell even in those clips with cell phone cameras. What a joy she brings when everything is so doom and gloom in the media. She's our chance to enjoy happiness and allows us a place to look for something extraordinarily uplifting and what a blessing we are experiencing. These people were cheering loud, but, I don't think they were cheering any louder in those first few shows. Don't matter where she goes, people are going to go nuts over her. Rightfully so too.
Posted by Teesiel on June 15, 2009
@TommyUSA You are so right--we have carried each other and hopefully Susan (karma, baby as Piers said way back) through the whole rocky journey and she was like a true performer tonight. Honestly, it was like seeing Bette Midler at Caesers or Streisand at Mad Sq Garden. You would never know this woman is just starting out--2 of the performers tonight--17 yr old Shawn and Hollie Steele sang a different song beside their BGT finale but as my husband said--there will be no more Susan B songs unless they are paid for--fine by me --"Bring them on...I like a challenge." :)

PWattis and Allikat:---I agree totally about the noise factor at these concerts. I would be devastated if I went to one of Susan's concerts here in the states and encountered this same type of noise and hooting throughout her performance. Showing appreciation is one thing,---but there's a respect for the artist and their attempts to be heard that should also be taken into account. A rousing welcome is great, ----as is a great, thunderous response after the performance. But once the actual performance begins, there should be respectful silence so that the artist can be heard. I would think it would be distracting to the artist as well to have all this noise throughout her singing. But I would be totally bummed to go to hear Susan and have a bunch of hyped up jackasses hooting away all around me, preventing me from hearing what I came for.

I looked at the number of hits Susan's videos are getting versus Diversity and Susan's are over 100,000 hits versus around 7,000 hitsfor Diversity. But then we all now who the true winner is of all this. Susan sound wonderful and is getting better and better.

Some of us are tired from the emotions she brings out in us. I for one am going to try to get a good nights rest so I can wait for Susan's upcoming videos to come out.

Go Susan!

I have been to so many shows and concerts and when a great performer is on, it's never quiet, and they are ALWAYS greeted by cheering fans. That's not a thing to treat as annoying, that's something you treat with a huge amount of respect because it shows that people are mad about Susan and it adds to the beauty of her.

Today is June 15th. Exactly two months since her debut in the same spot. If you take a moment and think about all that's happened with Susan Boyle, Simon's right, she hasn't a clue, nobody has a clue, at the impact she's made. Her voice is a totally new instrument. Is nobody on this God Green Earth that can sing like her.

PWattis: well said...I'm really hoping Susan will get more respectful audiences in a very near future...more appropriate venues for her talent to be heard and fully acknowledged and, audiences who will fully listen to her artistry...we cannot just come in and hop for a heavenly ride on her energy... otherwise, she may as well just stand there, scream and let the crowd scream along...it makes no sense to me.... audiences may intensely want to express their joy. their support, their appreciation ...fine with me, but should happen before and after performances only....
Posted by mrssusieqmi on June 15, 2009

I wish the crowd would actually give her the respect of listening to her and not screaming and shouting. Yes, I know everyone is showing their enthusiasm but really, it is a bit much! If I'd paid £30 odd for a ticket I would be seriously annoyed at all that racket and if I was a performer I'd be even more annoyed. Mind you - she sounds great, probably one of the best performances I've heard her do. As someone who has worked in opera houses I'd like to reassure people that it is normal for any singer to have a day off from a role for a break to rest the voice, no-one thinks twice of it - and that's people who've studied and worked in the profession for years... not a newcomer like Susan.

WOW. BEST--PERFORMANCE--EVER.

:-D

Have to get ready for work, so I'll watch all the other videos later. Who cares if they're complete or not? Can't get enough. ;-) And I like watching from different angles in the auditorium, and hearing different fans reacting to the Presence of Susan. Heh.

ABOUT CONCERT ETIQUETTE: While I appreciate that the audience cheers and screams can be distracting and annoying, in terms of being able to hear Susan throughout each song, I mainly find it heartening. After the beating Susan took from the tabloids, and all the dire predictions that she would be but a flash in the pan, a fad already passed, I think she needs all the POSITIVE AFFIRMATION she can get. I don't think, right now, she can possibly get too much "love" from her audiences!

Where we seem to be disagreeing--those who hate the cheers and those who love (or at least accept) them--is on the difference between classical/theater concert etiquette and rock/pop concert etiquette. Susan's musical style is more towards classical/theater, but right now at least, her status, appeal, and--let's face it--her personality is sparking much more of a rock/pop STAR vibe.

Hence, her fans are reacting as they would at a stadium event for a big name rock/pop star. I suspect that our differences of opinions stem from different kinds of concert experiences. I've experienced classical/theater concerts, but I've also seen Elton John (oh, big surprise, I know ;-)) and Rod Stewart and a few others. And I can tell you, at the latter concerts fans are not only screaming and cheering, but singing along during songs!

Anyway, hope that helps people to understand, even if some of you still don't like it. ;-)

One more word: WOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

@Juliad: amazon.co.uk does not have the feature. You have to go to amazon.com. Type Susan Boyle CD in the search box. The first item to come up will be Susan Boyle CD no release date. There is then a link to click to be notified when it is available. Click on that. You may have to log-in though, not sure, but that just involves providing an email and password.
Posted by bjNewMexicoUSA on June 15, 2009
@juliad Here in the States if you go onto Amazon.com and indicate CD in product box and the Susan Boyle in the search box, a message appears stating that they will let you know when it is available. It's not actually a pre-order, rather a notification of its availability. I assume when we get notified ther will be an Add to Cart button. Hope this helps. You may have to go to the U.S. website.

@WAMckinley and Marie Fan, absolutely agree. I think one reason I feel so strongly about it is because I really do plan to try and see Susan live. It will be a major event in my life and I want to be able to hear Susan. Also, its what she deserves. Its what is due the league of performers to which she belongs.

juliad..go to Amazon.com. They have a place where you can preorder the first Susan Boyle CD that hits the market. It is like placing a reservation. DO IT!! because they are going to go fast. Great new header..beautiful. That is my favorite picture after the one in her gold resss where she is having a cup of tea. ALSO..my favorite Susan moment is in the audition, at the very end of the song, the part leading to "this Hell I'm living" There is about a 4 count pause where she is not singing. She smiles there as if she KNOWS what she has done...an "I told you smile..I'm going to make that audience rock" look.
Posted by terijay on June 15, 2009
Agree w/ Bohemian spirit- THe reason Susan is getting the screams and WHOO HOOS - even from the young people, is that she has that "IT" factor that rarely some have and most do not. Elvis had it, Sinatra had it, Barbra had ( has it) Monroe had it...and of course many more...it is a look of the whole package- being larger than life or something...and people get excited about being in that person's "aura"-- Miss Boyle has that aura about her, which gained her the zillions of hits on YUtube that started this whole, mad ride. A peformer such as Miss Boyle I would imagine loves the affirmation and the waves of love. She can have peace and quiet when she records....I just hope they do not push her too too much...three weeks left in this tour is two weeks too many..as much as we love to see it.
Posted by bjNewMexicoUSA on June 15, 2009

Posted by TommyUSA on June 15, 2009
@Bohemian Spirit WOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHOOOOOOOOO!!!!!.....I agree with you. It makes me smile from ear to ear to see everyone supporting her that way...let's face it, we live in a different age.....When Susan is done with this tour, it will be different I'm sure....Her performances will be regulated by the halls places that she performs. Until then, I know, beyond the shadow of a doubt, if I were at one of her concerts right now, I would probably be screaming louder than anyone in there for her....lol Blessings to all, Tommy

I just hope you are enjoying it as much as we are enjoying watching you and listening to your amazing voice. Spread your wings and soar Lady Susan - and may God hold you in the palm of his hand.

@pottedferne I think you're right. It'll be bigger than Harry Potter. Do you think we could have Susan Boyle parties at Borders or other music store,so we can get our copy at midnight as soon as it's released? Or maybe UPS could deliver it to us starting at midnight like they did with the Harry Potter books. Someting to think about, eh?
Posted by MJ from USA on June 15, 2009
I THINK it's hard not to contain yourself if you hear Susan start to sing. I think she has that affect on people. It would be nice to calm down and soak in the words, her voice, but c'mon this is SUSAN BOYLE. I know I'd be screaming my head off with excitement if i was in the same room as Susan. She's just devine! Perhaps if she's on Broadway and West End, then the audience will HAVE TO contain themselves and use etiquette...lol
Posted by WAMcKinley on June 15, 2009
@Bohemian Spirit: I don't think it's a matter of not understanding the difference between the two venues. I think those of us who are opposed to the noise understand all too well the difference between a rock concert venue and that of a classical/theater concert. I, for one, would never go to a rock concert for the very reason of the noise and the stress level. So I wish for Susan a quieter place where people will be happy to welcome her enthusiastically and loudly------and then applaud, shout, and scream for her after her performance as well. But I'm hoping that during the performance, they'll respectfully "let the lassie sing" without vocal interference. Just an old fuddy-duddy, I guess. I concede that the crowds on these tours aren't there just to see Susan,---they're there to see the other acts, as well. The younger crowd are used to making a lot of noise to show their appreciation. Just not my kind of thing. Not when a singer like Susan is performing. Hush up and listen, please. Scream AFTERwards.
Posted by PIGGIE on June 15, 2009
@pottedferne: I hope you are right about her CD being mega. Someone mentioned previously, and I agree, that there has been nothing much about her at all in the US. People have short attention spans these days. Out of sight out of mind. If I didn't come to this site, I'd have no one to talk to about Susan. Certainly no one at work is talking, none of my neighbors, no one. She's not in the newspapers, not on tv, nothing. If we don't hear anything about her until a Christmas album, I'm afraid it's going to be "Susan who?" around here. But I'm sure Simon Cowell and the rest of her team have this carefully planned out. Perhaps she'll appear as special guest on the next American Idol. Since AI is very big here, that would certainly put her back in people's minds.
Posted by jordie on June 15, 2009
Absolutely fabulous, Susan....Many thanks to the folks who brought us these videos....
Posted by AmazinglyCritical on June 15, 2009
Her voice can go above all those screams and cheers anyway. When you are physically at the live show, you don't hear the cheering and screams like we're hearing in these clips because her voice can bury it.

Now, rock bands need instruments to do that. She is only using her voice to do it. That's why she's getting rock star treatment. She wanted to go out and rock the audiance, and she's been doing it to every audiance because somehow her voice is mixed with stage, theater, and rock/pop, all in one set of vocals. It's almost like a touch of everything in one voice.

She's had that reaction since she opened her mouth to sing. Noway is it going to stop.

In fact, FOXNEWS just had a beautiful segment about Susan just today....It was marvelous, and nothing but positive.....blessings, Tommy
Posted by Bohemian Spirit on June 15, 2009
@terijay, pottedferne, TommyUSA, and prolly others who haven't posted yet - Thanks. I'm sure, in time, the SusaMania will settle down. And I'm sure, as Tommy points out, the venues Susan performs in will affect audience/crowd response: Theater settings will have "concert" etiquette, stadium/auditorium settings will have "rock/pop" etiquette, and in the latter the sound system will be cranked high enough so we can still hear Susan over the noise, even as we're singing along with her. ;-) I like and can appreciate both.

bjNewMexicoUSA - Bigger than Harry Potter, now? :-D Can't help but think of the famous John Lennon concert, when Jesus was the ultimate "big" to compare to. (And I hope we all understand by now that Lennon was speaking tongue in cheek about fandom, not dissing Jesus.)

Really must head off to work now. G'night, all.
Posted by pottedferne on June 15, 2009
any "boddie" who has been to a concert at RedRocks, WolfTrap or JazzFest will hear cheering from the audience - that is part of the excitement of a live event!! And at those events CDs are sold sans cheering for a non-minimal fee...the recordings we are getting are from someones cellphone who probably risked getting in trouble for doing it.
Posted by PWattis on June 15, 2009
@Bohemian Spirit, I think you are right, because I have not been to any rock/pop concerts. I guess we'll just have to see how this plays out because Susan does appeal to a lot of diverse tastes. I'll be hoping for the snobs and the old fogeys to win this battle.

I've been to rock concerts and punk rock concerts and we scream our headoffs , the band can still be heard clearly above the hollering and cheering. With that said, we are viewing it from someone's handheld video and we hear the screams more audible but in the audience they hear Susan loud and clear, that's the difference here. Overall, the BGT tour is more like a concert show so the cheering and screaming is expected. Once Susan tours on her own, we will all be at our best behaviour and listen before we scream and cheer thereafter.
Posted by fumingjane on June 15, 2009
Wish she would welcome the audience, give a bit of herself before performing.

Or after.....something personal.

That will come in time, I suppose.
Posted by ammo on June 15, 2009
Voraciou V... I think we all understand where you are coming from...but you cannot possibly compare what you have experienced - don't mean any disrespect there - you can't possibly compsare your experiences to Susan's. These experiences are worlds apart.
Posted by WAMcKinley on June 15, 2009
Lovin',---no one's talking about a sterile listening environment, here. I certainly would hate to think people couldn't respond to the singer. But I really think they should limit their "enthusiasm" during the actual performance, itself. Big welcome,---big response afterwards. I would think any artist would appreciate that.
Posted by ammo on June 15, 2009
Yes fumingjane, she won't be allowed to do that by BGT I don't suppose...because they will fear she will stick out from the rest of the acts....ha ha...as if she doesn't do that already :)

Anyone notice, as soon as she hits "shame" in I dreamed a dream, the whole place is instantly on it's feet. I think she could blow the whole theaters ear drums out if she hit her special tone in that part of the song, let alone, worrying about not hearing her over the cheering.

Properly raised, one applauds politely at the correct time. No one wrote Susan into the equation.

Tee Hee! Here come the fireworks///////// GO SUSAN!

Juliad, sorry to mislead you. The others are correct..it is not a reserve..they will however inform you when the CD is available. I was forgetful...I did this a long time ago...seems like it was before the finals even. WOW, thats how sure they were that there would BE a CD of Susan.

@ piggie .... NYC here! hi neighbor!

Regarding Susan news in NY...

if you're talking about Susan Boyle being talked about in the streets no.. well , if you asked someone on the street there be bound to know of her. But if you watch the news and entertainment shows Susan is in all the news and major newspapers still report about Susan in New York City. Susan is all the buzz on Broadway. overall major blogs still write about Susan - Dlisted, Jared, PerezHilton etc....Susan is very much the rave in the entertainment industry in the States.

Hey Tommy and Ammo I would love to live in a small town. Getting too old for NYC but the job has me based here...When I retire...W.Virginia here I come, Wheeling.

THANKS FOR TELLING ALL OF US ABOUT THE GLASGOW TOUR & SUSAN!, I AM SO HAPPY THAT SHE SEEMS TO BE MORE RELAXED. I THOUGHT SHE NEVER SOUNDED BETTER!
Posted by PWattis on June 15, 2009
@Tommy, Susan has affected my music listening choices too. For me I have been digging out CDs that I haven't listened to for a long time - mostly those of musicals with roles I would like to see her play.
Posted by PWattis on June 15, 2009
@Piggie, on some entertainment show I saw last week some of the Tony Award nominees were being asked what they thought of Susan and if they thought she should perform on Broadway.
Posted by TommyUSA on June 15, 2009
Greenockguy.........SOUNDS TERRIFIC...SURE WILL BE SO HAPPY THERE!! Blessings, Tommy
Posted by Greenockguy on June 15, 2009
I agree with MJ from USA..Susan is still in the media here in the city. Bet your bottom dollar when the Album comes out, Susan will be with Simon on Oprah; Piers whilst judging AGT will be making references to Susan when evaluating AGT contestants. Just my thoughts.
Posted by TommyUSA on June 15, 2009
PWattis.....yes, me too....I can listen to the artist singing the song, and for some strange reason, I say to myself....Susan could sing that sooooooo much better...lol
Posted by PIGGIE on June 15, 2009
@PWattis: You're right - I totally forgot about all the stars at the Tony's talking about her! I must just be hanging out with a very dull crowd.

Awesome! Susan's singing and live stage performance grows from strength to strength. Audience reaction sums it up. Big thanks to the poster of this video.
Posted by HAPPY on June 15, 2009
Allikat, I can understand your disappointment. I, too got quite on edge because of all the screaming and whooing. But I knew it was a sure sign of the audience's wild enthusiasm. I'm not sure I might not go wild, too, if I saw Susan in person! The crowd's reaction was somewhat similar to the wild hysteria outstanding singers like Farinelli, for example, would have given rise to, centuries ago...Anyway, I do agree that such a class act shouldn't be met by the same reactions football players get in a stadium when they score goals. Remember, though, this reaction was made perticularly plain in Glasgow, which, as you know is a very popular city, with football culture running deep so that the audience expressed sincere appreciation though in a very loud way.

How Susan can actually go on singing and manage to reach such hights in expressivity in such a din is a mystery to me, though. She certainly delivered a truely professional performance, still improving on the previous ones. Some very high notes she didn't quite get are now perfect and she obviously takes pleasure in altering her focus and perspective on the songs.

I really think, now her goal is to take on a part in a West End musical. Why not Fantine in Les Misérables? After all, I Dreamed a Dream is her grand air and she just sings a few songs at the beginning of the play. So maybe the role wouldn't be too exacting for a beginner like Susan. We already know she's up to the tricky musical part of it...She also has the necessary stage presence and as her looks are improving by the day, I suppose she could take on the part of a younger woman without any problem. How exciting it would be to watch her developping both her musical and acting skills on a great London stage!

What I find rather difficult to take in is the fact she's reached star status so fast that it has become necessary to withdraw her from the public. There's so much secrecy about what happens to her off stage, now! It also affects her attitude towards audiences. She shows her love and respect achieving high artistic standards but she remains quite distant, now. She probably has been taught how to for her own sake...Besides, she's no longer just a singer, she's becoming a professional singer as she wished. As such, she must learn all the constraints and limitations it entails, which might curb her spontaneity.

I am really happy because her career seems now on its way. My only concern is that she doesn't strain her voice too much. And yet, when I see how fast she's been able to adapt and all that she has already accomplished, I feel she will go on surprising us in the months to come. There are definitely many other "sides of Susan" we still don't know of...

Hey guys, Susan is using the BGT tour to perfect her on stage delivery without being televised (except by cellphone). It is a brilliant plan. Susan needed to get her feet wet before a live audience that drew a sizable group for many who also came to see other talented co-contestants.
Posted by AmazinglyCritical on June 15, 2009
I don't think there is a particular kind of music I don't like. I think Susan has enough talent to do her own broadway show, let alone starring in one already made. My favorite setting would probably be watching Susan performing with a whole orchestra. I think that would be heavenly.

Gosh -- had to work late, but just finished watching Susan's Glasgow performance and found Teesiel's wonderful report(s). Don't have time to read all the posts -- but she was wonderful tonight -- her voice is so strong, and she looks gorgeous! I'm crying tears of happiness for her -- how fulfilling to watch her dream come true!
Posted by PWattis on June 15, 2009
@Happy, yes why not Fantine, indeed! I agree it is somewhat sad that we won't be seeing pictures of her walking around her neighborhood anymore. But, that was more beneficial to us than to her. She needs the space she has now been given.

God bless our darling Susan!!! Today she sang not only from her heart, from her soul - she sang, as if every note was directed to her from the Heaven, her voice soared above the noise of the cheering crowd straight to the Heaven!!! This was an absolutely genius performance, the level of beauty, inspiration and power in it was incredible, super-human, sending mighty shivers of excitement through one's spine, making one's heart soar together with her song!!!Today Susan didn't only sing, she re-created her songs, she breathed totally new, super-powerful life into them, she LIVED her songs today, and made us live them - together with her!!!!! I sit here now, before my computer, shedding happy tears, still trembling from excitement, and thanking God for the miracle of Susan in our lives...

God Bless everybody here,

All the best to all of you, precious people, who love Susan Boyle,

TEESIEL: Thanks for your exquisite written description of today's event, combined with the videos we've seen, you've created the imagination of being there. Hope your interview gets posted on the local news!
Posted by PWattis on June 15, 2009
@pottedferne, very true. I bet she has no idea that we are all out here watching these videos of all her appearances on this tour - and therefore seeing her change things.

@Amazingly Critical, I can't wait to hear here with a live orchestra. I am tired of the recorded accompaniment.
Posted by bibi _ 36 on June 15, 2009
One more thing Teeseil, I agree with many others, your video of the concert would be really valuable as you were so much removed from the screaming at the back of the hall. The sound would probablbly be superior. Personally I'd like to see if Susan has modified her hand movements and gestures in response to criticism (not clear from the one clip I've seen). I must be one of the few who thought they were just fine at her first performance in Birmingham and hope that she is left free to move as she pleases. She is very graceful with her hands and her movements seemed appropriate to the emotion of the words and rise and fall in tension of the music, almost like a ballerina's hands. Some musicians can stay stock still. Other's completely need to move - almost as if they are conducting themselves - or tracing the essence of what they are singing in the air.
Posted by Loved on June 15, 2009
I do the same thing as Tommy. I hear someone singing and I say: Now I'd like to hear what SUSAN would do with that song! Her voice is incredible, but somehow she goes way beyond your ears and hits you right in the heart. I cannot blame those in the audience. While part of me is saying, I wish they'd shut up so I can hear her sing, another part knows that I'd probably be screaming the loudest if I was there.

Piggie: Regis spoke about Susan Boyle just this morning. He was concerned for her and wished her a speedy recovery. Just a little talk, but still it was Regis. Also, I went to a AARP convention in Boston and Rod Stewart was one of the entertainers and boy did everyone rock all over, standing, sitting, shouting, singing, clapping, and whatever -- and don't forget this is a 55+ group.--- Now who would not clap, scream, or shout when Susan sings "sham,am,am,am,ammm". I would and I am 75 years old. I love to listen to Susan Boyle and intend to see her someday. Go Susan. You have given us many great days. What a sensational two months we have had following your progress. God Bless you Susan

She breaks my heart and she makes me happy too. When I think of all she's been through in her life, I am so sad for her and wish she could have been more protected. But look at her now. Our dear girl is living her dream, and that too is sometimes hard, but she is doing it. She is taking the bitter with the sweet - Susan is doing what she loves, what gives her confidence and strength - remember, she said that in one of her interviews - that singing gives her confidence. Everybody wins here. She loves to sing and we love to hear her. I have lived a long time, but never have I admired one person so much. She is magnificent.

Why on earth cannot the news media, change their slide shows to more current photos to show off the beauty Susan has become. But you did it girl!

I just watched showbiz tonight and all they said was susan backed out this weekend and that due to her breakdown she should noit perform publically. They never once brought out the three superb shows she did, nor did they state the fact that her managers had her stay out. They also did not bring up the great performances she did today. Someone else besides me needs to bring their errors to their attention. I have already written them

I've been to many rock concerts in my day, it's part of the whole experience. I think she's enjoying it, understanding that it might have been at first overwhelming but with the Glasgow concert, you can can see her smiling. She's truly in her element. This was meant to happen now, not 30 years ago.
Posted by entropydecides on June 15, 2009
I live in the USA and can't wait to see Susan, but I would never want to see her on another talent/reality show. I love watching her perform, I hope they release a DVD along with a CD. I agree with Bohemian Spirit; I can't help but treat her like a rock star, but I want a classical concert venue. Great to hear she's relaxed. Thank you to everyone for the videos, it excites me to see her progress. It is too bad that we no longer have access to her. Is she in her chrysalis stage? Maybe when she emerges on the other side of fame, by that I mean comfortable with her celebrity, we will be reintroduced to our little Scot.

Adding my thanks to those who are posting the videos and super pictures! Susan was wonderful today in Glasgow and I am so glad they gave her such an overwhelming reception. She seems to be getting more comfortable with singing while people are screaming and jumping up and down... LOL may as well as that is part of it. I thought her movements were much more refined at this one... I agree she is very graceful with her hand movements, etc. and seems to be feeling much more "at home" in this new role. I am so thrilled for her today.

MJ I'm glad Jane loves susan. if she loved her so much she would have made that show's comments more truthful. they are still spewing bull_____ and not stating what is true. Pisses me off royally. She'll prove them all wrong when she does shows here. If they would only have watched tonight and last friday or satuday, she proved them wrong already.

DVD of the GLASGOW performance now available:

As promised, I have created an ISO (disc image) file of a DVD of Susan's Glasgow performance. This ISO file is hosted on a file hosting site. You may need to download an ISO to DVD 'image burner', but I have included details of that too. The ISO image will create an NTSC (US compatible) DVD that you can then take away and play like any other DVD on your TV. I have had to do a lot of compressing to get an ISO file that is easily downloadable, but the overall quality is still very good. Here's what you need to do to create your DVD (cut&paste the links to your browser):

1. Go get the ISO file from: http://www.filefactory.com/file/ag68b1h/n/SUSANDVD4_zip (choose the 'free download' option - don't use 'premium' because it will cost. There is a 30 second delay before the download link will show for adverts to display). BEWARE: this file is 160Mb!

2. Save it somewhere on your machine, and then unZIP the file (XP/Vista: right-click on the .zip file, then select 'Extract All'), which will create SUSANDVD4.ISO

3. If you have your own ISO to DVD burner software (most versions of Nero, Roxio, Cyberlink should have this feature, or use ImgBurn again if you downloaded it before) then you can now use that to create your DVD from the ISO file

4. If you need an ISO to DVD burner (for free) then I would recommend ImgBurn: http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/ImgBurn/1128426215/1 (Just click the blue 'Download' button, then save the .exe file, then run it to install)

5. To create your DVD with ImgBurn: Insert a blank DVD, run ImgBurn, Select 'Write Image File to Disc' option, click the folder image next to where it says 'Please select a file...' then browse to the SUSANDVD4.ISO file, then click the image at the bottom of the screen (with the green triangle in the middle of 2 pictures of a disc) to start creating the DVD. Let it do its stuff - it will tell you when it's done. (You may want to untick the 'Verify' tick box if you want your disc to be ready quickly).

6. Eject the disc, take it to your home DVD player and play it!

This should all work as I've described. If it doesn't, check you've followed the instructions properly.

wow, she sounded better than ever, and she looked beautiful standing up there. Not just any voice could cut through that screaming which was quite loud, but Susan has such projection, i could hear the nuances in her phrasing and the beautiful and powerful dynamics of her singing, her tone, her feel, her technique, cutting through and rising high above, i just loved it. Thanks!!

Finally, I have viewed the videos of Susan in Glasgow. She was perfect. Strong voice, great stage presence. Someone is working on those arm movements with her. Very hard to hear the music with so much screaming and shouting going on from the audience. No missed lyrics tonight. Fantastic! C'est magnifique!
Posted by 31Gallium31 on June 15, 2009
I agree, the audience is quite rowdy. I'm not sure they know what to do... yell? sing along? sit quietly and applaud at the end? Oh well, one of these days the audience will figure it out and hopefully stop screaming so much. If not, I think Susan will have to tell them to stop screaming or she won't sing. She's got the clout to do such things now. As far as being "ignored or forgotten in the US" ... ha! Just watch the media machine crank it up when her CD is released. She'll be on every talk show day and night. Magazine covers, radio interviews... Hollywood celebrities looking for photo-ops. She'll have a billion more fans to contend with then. And that's just for her debut CD. Imagine a tour... the mind boggles.

Wasn't her Glasgow performance wonderful..the crowd was noisy..though I liked they supported her...and noisy or not..it isn't her fault..and it won't keep me from wanting to hear and find out all the news I can..in any of the others she will sing in..I hope all her dreams come true..and hopefully after the tour...things will settle down and she can pick and choose what she wants to do...and make enough to make her secure for the rest of her life. She will decide how big a star she wants to be..and how much she wants to travel..There are reports she is anxious to do a CD..I am anxious too... She wanted to be a professional performer...I think she will get her wish...she will know how much to too much...and if she needs to take it slow so not to hurt her health...I think all of her fans..will understand that...I am now excited...to read what Teesiel will tell us tomorrow..and see another video even though she will sing the same songs...I just don't get tired of her..I am on Calif USA time..guess I should say when Teesiel reports today...

I hope something is released soon to counter the poor quality of these cell phone videos. An Interview or a Studio quality clip or something. I'm sure this site would post them. right away. I like reading so many positive remarks here but elsewhere people are critizing these videos. It's like letting the air out of a big balloon to me. BGT should know that people are going to do this with their camaras and have something ready to counter it. When people see this kind of thing for the first time it doesn't help to create new fans. Even a fresh interview at this point in time would help. Give us something please, other than weeks of low quality recordings of the same two songs.

As I stated on Saturday. Susan Boyle is a phenomina. And a phenomina like Susan only comes around once in 40 or 50 years, much like The Beatles or Elvis Presley. Some of you may remember when the Beatles landed in New York the first time, to sing on the Ed Sullivan Show. It was crazy. The crush of fans to greet them at the airport was insane. I don't think they expected so many well-wishers to show up shouting out their names, as if they knew each one personally. America loved the Beatles, and embraced them warmly.

Now almost 50 yrs. later comes Susan Boyle, a different kind of pop icon. An older, shy, quirky, Scottish maiden, who has said she has never even been kissed, a true underdog to those who watched her audition, and the audience reaction to her singing. The little lady with a a 'BIG' voice, great range, perfect cadence, and an emotional intpretation that just sucks you in, and tugs on your heartstrings. Instant fame followed for Susan, and again we here on the other side of the Atlantic wait anxiuosly to embrace our heroine once she arrives in America.

2 incredible phenomina. The Beatles and Susan Boyle separated by almost 50 years in time. How lucky I am to have witnessed the birth of both of these gifted and talented collection of souls. Not once, but twice in a life time for me. I am blessed.

@CatsAloud - terrific SusaNews! When Susan will be written in the Guinness world record book???

@aroseblush - WOW
Posted by evat on June 16, 2009
is this the same stage of her first audience? just guessing...
Posted by jaffa66 on June 16, 2009
@catsaloud:was just about to post that link but you beat me to it,lol! It's a great article, and I thought it deserved a good comment (let's give every positive newspaper good reviews).

However, when I tried to register, it wouldn't let me because it wouldn't accept my Aussie postcode, eeven though asking what country I was from. So I googled Scottish postcodes, put one in, but still wouldn't let me access it. Anyone got any ideas?

Early evening here and JUST LOVED the Glasgow performance. FANTABULOUS. Susan's best ever I think. Totally shone. Been watching it on and off all day. Thanks DocRobbie for the great Youtube clip, and everyone else's too!

Evat Yes it is the same stage, so I think she had very good memories to lean on! ♥/marikasister

Has everyone been able to download the new Glasgow DVD image file? It took 3 attempts to get it up to the server overnight, so I hope it eventually went up OK.

@marikasister - wow - i just got this strange feeling of deja vu - so i took a wild guess!

If you want to listen to Susan's singing voice without any screaming noise, you could enjoy her two songs at this URL. Probably nothing new to the long-time Susan fans like you, but it's refreshing, indeed.

I agree the screaming and cheering is annoying when I want to hear Susan sing. I also agree it would be nice to hear another song from Susan. However, I am thrilled to hear the cheers and screaming as they appear to be from the younger set who probably went to the concert to see Diversity or Shaun. Screaming throughout the performance is their way of showing appreciation. They are appreciating Susan and her music - her songs. Songs with meaning and emotion. Songs with lyrics that can be understood. Songs without profanity, sex, and violence. Real music with a melody. This is a good thing to be happening to our children and grandchildren. I am happy to listen to the screaming for now, as I know soon a DVD will be made without the background noise and a quality I can appreciate. I can wait.

Also on the DVD will be a selection of songs. I can wait for that as well. For now I am content to let the audiences hear the songs they paid to hear. It is training for Susan and as each new video is released, I am able to see her grow. Each performance is better than the one before. Both her confidence and voice are growing steadily better.

I pay no attention to the tabloids. I, and other fans like me, have caused the feverish writing of false reports. I hunger for news of Susan and she is now so protected, no one, not TV, radio, or newspaper can get a story or photo. What are they to do to keep me happy except make up the stories. Some will believe, but most won't. Isn't it wonderful they can't get close enough to Susan to get those photos and interviews. I asked for more protection for Susan, as did we all. She is certainly protected now and can focus on her future.

It will be a happy day when the tour is over and Susan can give me what I want. For now, I am content to follow the things I can and let Susan have her day. I thank

Susan Boyle delights fans after overcoming recent exhaustion to sing for Scots crowd

It''s been a few months, worldwide fame and rehab - but finally last night Susan Boyle was back where it all began.

To thunderous applause, the singer looked a million dollars in an outfit fit for a star as she took to the stage.

Susan was back in Glasgow, this time not auditioning, but the undisputed star of the live tour of Britain's Got Talent.

She may have come second to Diversity but the biggest cheer was for her as the crowd chanted, "Susan, Susan".

The 48-year-old appeared years younger, with a well coiffured, darker hairdo and full make-up, in a shimmery, metallic grey dress.

Host Stephen Mulhern introduced her by saying, "Now it's time to welcome the most Googled lady on earth.

"The world's talking about one lady. This lady."

The 9000 crowd at the SECC were on their feet as Susan walked on stage.

On TV her performance of Memory was shaky but last night she belted out the song in a clear, powerful voice. The end saw her second ovation as she took in the screams of fans of all ages.

As the crowd roared on, she went straight into signature tune I Dreamed A Dream and with another ovation and cries of "Susan, Susan" her cocky self came out and she waved at the crowd.

Susan showed she has an incredible voice and whatever happens to her worldwide fame, in Scotland she'll always be our own star.

The show had kicked off with DJTalent before this year's winners Diversity followed by Shaheen Jafargholi.

Young dancer Aidan Davis, 11, even got snogged by fan Kirstyn Brown, 13, who had made a banner for him.

Flawless also went down a treat with the fans.

After Susan's reception and the reaction to the star line-up, Stephen admitted: "You are definitely the best audience we've had."

Susan and the gang are at the Edinburgh Playhouse tonight.

@jaffa66 - I have been producing DVD versions of each performance (along with an extra DVD of Susan's early video clips). These are then made into an ISO image file that you can download. Using a little bit of free software (which you can download) you turn that ISO into a DVD for you to play on your TV. The details for the Glasgow DVD are posted earlier in this blog. If you need details for the other 3, let me know.

@aroseblush - great post and comparison. I had not looked at it that way. I consider myself lucky too to have been able to experience both. Hi Teesiel. I saw you on GMTV this morning - great interview. Great report on the show - thank you! Enjoy tonight in Edinburgh (my home town!)

Look folks im sure Susan knows all the young people screaming continually was their way of showing that they love her and support her....im sure she also knows that when she's done this tour and perhaps paticipates in an odd musical or whatever she chooses to do the people will be more reserved showing appreciation after a song is finished....keep in mind as well that she does understand this thing....as a teenager she was a great fan of Donny Osmond who was her heart throb and anyone seen a Donny Osmond concert when he was a young teenage kid ? Im sure Susan was flattered by their response. :-)

@DJG-Scotland:Sorry to sound like I'm so techno challenged! I do remember reading somewhere yesterday about ISO files etc- so many posts I get lost! I've been downloading the youtube clips to my PC via realplayer, sort of one by one, then figure that I'd burn them later on, but would your way be faster? Thanks for doing what you're doing. Also, any ideas re logging in to the daily record.co.uk. It's just that whenever a paper shows a positive article I really want to keep adding positive comments to try and MAKE them keep on being positive, as I know a lot of people are also doing. Cheers.
Posted by DJG-Scotland on June 16, 2009
@jaffa66 - I've done all the tricky techie stuff (transcoding, etc.) for you all and made the discs ready-to-go. You can, of course, create your own DVDs from whatever you have if you have the software to do that.

Not sure about the Daily Record problem. If you're not in the UK, you may not be allowed to view the content (geo-blocked I believe they call it).
Posted by Country Gardens on June 16, 2009
Thank you!
Posted by wenvas on June 16, 2009
@DJG-Scotland, I too have managed to download (and burn) all the files you sent...except for the last one as I'm almost at the limit of my broadband allowance for the month (12GB). Thankfully my next month allowance begins tomorrow. I've also ran out of blank DVDs and CDs...will get more tomorrow.

I'm extremely thankful for all the work you've put into this, and have a request. If you are able, of course, would it be possible to do the same thing with some of her interviews. I'm thinking particularly of her interview with BGT where she talks about her surprise at the reaction she got etc.. I also happen to love her speaking voice (as well as her singing).

At the end of one of those interviews she said, "There you go" and in another she said words to the effect, "If I could sing for the queen, make a record...and make everyone happy". That's not verbatim of course, just vaguely what I remember.
Posted by DJG-Scotland on June 16, 2009
@wenvas - just give me the YouTube links for the interviews you're wanting, and I'll see what I can do. Each DVD can only really go to about 15 minutes max so that the ISO file sizes aren't too big!
Posted by jaffa66 on June 16, 2009
Thanks DJG-Scotland- much appreciate all the work you've done! Being in a different time-zone to most I tend to miss a bit. I try to skim thru every post everyday if I can but it's just such a huge volume of letters I'm sure I miss a lot! I'm not sure if I'd be able to download your files-my connection is 256 kbps and even downloading one clip takes ages, but I'll give it a go if I can work it out.

Re the Daily record problem, the site itself is not geo-blocked; they actually ask which country you come from before you post and I can read all content.Maybe just a temporary glitch?

The other day I also wrote quite a long blog re geo-blocking, as I found a way around it. Again, being in a different time zone I don't think many would have read it. I couldn't download videos from eg. hula.com, but eventually found that if I downloaded "hotspot shield" it blocks your ISP and immediately you can overcome the geoblock problem. I did put up a warning with my instructions that someone more techno savvy than me- maybe you? should check it is safe, but I haven't had any problems so far.Up til then it said I couldn't download any hula.com clips as I was not in the U.S. but after the hotshield download all content downloaded immediately-no probs (albeit very slowly as with all sites due to my connection speed;)

I'm sure the instructions as to where to go for your files are somewhere obvious, so I'll go look. Many thanks.

@jaffa66 - yeah IP Cloaks are OK, just DON'T try and access secure pages through them because it will just strip off the page encryption - very dangerous!

@Graeme1C5: I really have no idea why you are posting here.Do you honestly think that Susan Boyle has ANYTHING to do with what the papers print or do not print? Do you honestly think if she did that she would have allowed the tabloids to print all the rubbish they have about her? You just have NO IDEA do you. Susan is a beautiful, caring woman who has devoted her whole life to helping those in need- including her elderly ill parents and countless others. We all adore her here and if you don't PLEASE GO AWAY.

Susan...USA: Yes, I thought that Glasgow was her best performance yet! She was amazing to begin with...just think what she'll be like by the end of the tour, lol (if she decides to continue with it all). I thought, particularly with Memory that her notes were even stronger and clearer than ever before.Maybe they had to be to reach over the screams, lol! But really, she just keeps refining and refining her voice and changing between the registers even better. Mind you, nothing really will ever beat her 1st audition performance for me, but for her future career in musicals etc, if that's the way she chooses to go, her singing voice now is probably getting closer and closer to perfection for that kind of work. Amazing!

Hello kaffa and franM, I like your spunk in telling what's his face off. Please use that energy to write to Showbiz tonight(CNN HLN) about their bad reporting about susan last night. They said susan should not perform in public and only mentioned her self pulling out of manchester performances. They never once commented about saturdays performances nor last nights performances and how well susan did. The more that write them on their misinforming the US public on her performances the better. Go to CNN and go down to contact us and write them a note. Actually one of the people on the snippit was british. She was the one making all the disparaging comments.
Posted by DJG-Scotland on June 16, 2009
I still don't get these audiences. If I spent £32.50 to go and see somebody sing I'd want to be able to sit and listen to them. What's the point of just screaming over the top? These people seem to think they're at a boxing match or something! It's like feeding time at the zoo. It will be much better when she does her own concerts, and the people in audience will just sit there in awe!

Morning happy Susanites! It's almost 8:00 a.m. here in the Bluegrass state, warm and foggy from where I'm sitting and this first cup of coffee going down fine.

Ahh, a troll first thing? Haven't even finished my coffee and I have to kick a**? Troll, here's the thing: Don't mess with this Kentucky girl so early in the morning - you won't live through it. We already know you're stupid, now let's see how fast you can run from this double-barrelled shotgun. One, two - all right then.

Now. I went to bed happy last night knowing our girl surely had a good night's sleep too. Lordy, wasn't she amazing? Jaffa, you're absolutely right - she keeps getting better and better! How she improves on perfection is beyond me, but then we all know Susan is a miracle. As to the noisy fans, well, I can forgive them - they're expressing their adulation in the only way they can, and Susan handles it beautifully.

I think I saw in one of the papers yesterday that the adoring fans were hoping Susan would come back out for an encore, and I just wanted to say that she probably could not due to time restraints.

protectsusan - thank you for that link. It was awesome to see Simon does have a heart, integrity, and a conscience. Our Susan has changed more than we thought - she has changed the way people are treating other people. Simon isn't looking at dollars anymore, he's looking at the effect his decisions are having on people's lives. Susan, I know you had to wait a long time for your dream, but it has come at the right time.

Hi Susanettes: After reading the above post about an unflattering article about our Susan I zoomed over to CNN to proclaim my outrage to them when low and behold I found a VERY favourable article. Go to CNN.com and on the right where the TOP stories are - go read - says she made an amazing come back and talked about her fantasic reception and said she was very very happy about the reception they gave me. It also said that she was bringing 'her vast musical knowledge' to the discussions about her career. So this is good folks! Showbiz Tonight needs to get with the program and where singers are concerned remember the old addage: "If ess not Scottish - ess crap!" Yae Susan! I'm so happy about her success. but I'm still going to search out Showbiz section and tell them to have a look at the intinery - it's brutal and it was announced beforehand that she was not doing ALL the tours. Hey how'd you like to be a poop-er-aszie with a bad attitude at the Glasgow show all ready to report a bad show and then get in the middle of all that screaming and adoration. It wouldn't be good to be a tabloid employee that day huh? Looks good on em.

Teesiel, you're the cat that gets all the cream! How wonderful it must have been to have come all the way from Philadelphia and get so close to our Susan! Thank you for your heartfelt report on the show. I really feel I've been there somehow! Thank you!

I feel heartbroken, though, this morning. I get that sad feeling a page has been turned in Susan's story. We, fans are losing her somehow, she now belongs to the world and history...

I would have thought that Glasgow show would have been an occasion for a warm meeting between Susan and her Scottish friends on the very stage where she had performed for the first time. It was certainly rapturous on the audience's part but Susan, herself, however elated she might have been with that wonderful welcome remained every bit the professional she's fastly becoming. She has soared so high already! A far cry from the obvious emotion she had shared with the public on her audition night. As Teesiel said, the girl we saw that night, is no more.

She always had that star quality, though. I don't know, something aloof, way above everybody even as far back as when she sang in that club, aged 23...She is indeed becoming more like her real self, now she's blossoming into the true artist she is at heart.

But I used to feel so close to her. Even as I was making myself a cup of tea, I would picture her doing the same in her neat little house! Now, she'll go places I will never go, get to know people I will never meet...

All the same I' m terribly happy for her to get to achieve at last all that she ever dreamed of and probably way beyond any of her wildest dreams! I'll be watching her from afar, lovingly and in awe as she soars up to the firmament. She has pride of place in my heart and is there to stay...

"Halfway through the first song they were on their feet giving her a standing ovation, and they remained on their feet the whole way through," the rep tells PEOPLE.

"They were cheering her on. And she was ecstatic with the performance. She was really, really happy with how it went. "

Boyle, the spokesperson adds, is "doing what she loves doing best, and that's singing."

aliz - protectsusan posted this link a little further up http://www.gm.tv/videos/star-guests/35629-simon-says.html

HAPPY - I said to my husband at the end of the audition "Look, she walked off that stage a star! She's changed.". If you watch her audition closely you can see it. Just after she does the dance-of-joy, she pulls herself up, holds her head high and walks off like she's done it all her life. She left us then. We will never see that Susan again. That Susan is for her family and close friends only. We must be content with seeing a 'business' Susan. But, we can still hear her song, and feel her emotion and know we watched the transformation through all of it's growing pains. And most of all, we can be happy for her.

@DR You are right, the old Susan is gone, but she wanted to sing and she is singing, I became a fan because I like her singing and I will follow her route always. As long as she is happy doing what she wants I'm happy.

@YourAwesome good morning to you!!!

@281165 Yes that is the one. Thanks for uploading it.

Awesome, scroll up a bit. There was one saying that we shouldn't be talking about Susan when there's so much tragedy in the world, and that Susan should be ashamed for singing - a total idiot. It's OK. I shot it.

Just watched Simon's interview and the first thing I thought of was the "pay it forward" concept. Susan has indeed changed the world. For sure Simon seems like a changed man. SUSAMAGIC!!

@Kalua. Thanks for that link. That was a good recording. Her voice truly is fantastic. I am so happy that she has conquered the audiences. It must be a wonderful feeling for her to experience their reaction. The more she sings the better she gets, if that is possible. Can't get enough of her.

Just watched the video again and had my first cry of the day. What a powerful, soul-filled voice. I think this was her best performance yet. Can't wait for her CD. Sure hope she gets one out before Christmas.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! This is an amazing performance, and the best video that I have seen of the Glasgow performance. Tommy, you seem to have cornered the market on capturing meaningful, marvelous videos. I love your work and am enthralled and energized by Susan's vocals. She's the best.
Posted by ammo on June 16, 2009
Good morning all...I commented last night that after watching the Glasgow video...well during it...I was bawling my eyes out..all the way through, wishing Susan's mam could have been there to see it all happen. Wonderful stuff....I'll repeat myself..sorry to those who've already read these words...When I went to a Beatles concert in 1963, the sound systems were nowhere near as good as todays' systems. ALL I could hear were screaming fans..I gave up straining and just watched from afar...We had cheap tickets....Aww! At least I can hear Susan through all the screaming. I loved it...but...like everyone else, can't wait to see her in person...with a little less noise around.

I may able to follow her around soon...we just got an e.mail from someone working in a big bank in England...over 20 million pounds sterling unclaimed and he wants my husband, here in Canada, to help him claim it, through our Banks account. He'll get 60 percent and we'll get 40 percent...Does he think we are idiots....?? WE want the 60 percent.... Just joking, no the e.mail definitely arrived....but will some jerks really think this is true and get in touch with this scam artist?

Back to the REAL world the SUSANWORLD....forget those millions he is offering...dozy fella....I want to see Susan. I'm starting to save up my pennies....Gotta finish my cuppa...I was foiled from making this my first stop today. My husband was on the computer. How very dare he..it's garbage day..and he got up early....

Got to watch that Glasgow video again....:)

I have been meaning to comment on this: Have you all noticed how graceful Susan is? When she extends her arms, it looks as though she's embracing her audience and they just go wild. And I've never seen anyone throw kisses with such total grace and sincerety.

There's another video on Youtube from Glasgow showing Susan up close singing Memories. It kinda cuts off the last note, but otherwise is quite good.

I"ve finally gotten down thru all the posts---I feel like I'm back in college intently studying for Finals now that I have a severe case of Susanitis. Teesial....you are one FINE reporter as well as one LUCKY DUCK to be where you are,and with tickets to the Susan performance this evening, you are blessed in many ways. THANX for all your reports----to me your most important Susa-vations were those that occurred when Susan was not on stage....the gentleman you spoke to before the concert (most likely there preventing photographers from taking Su-pics), and then your comments about Susan and Grand dad standing in the wings enjoying the other performances, and then Susan at the end standing with all the others with a big smile and a swing in her step. She is obviously ENJOYING every minute of the show. And I would bet that this may be the first time she has been an integral part of such a HAPPY group of folks doing what they love to do, and she is the STAR and I'm sure they all acknowledge that as well. THANX again for yesterday's details and we await your continuing comments of your adventures today---OH U LUCKY DUCKY!!! And a huge THANX to all who make this such a great place to spend way tooooo many hours dealing with the profound effects of Susanitis!!

@Kalua - thanks for that last video, very good video and sound! Definitely her best performance so far. I cannot even imagine how great it will all sound when she records in a studio, but am so happy she sounds so brilliant live simply to ... to some people :D

Hello happy, You know I have to say I share some of those same feelings about her changing, but if we know susan as I think we do. That wonderful, fun loving free spirit will most definately come through loud and clear in her performances. I expect we will see her dance a jig or to and talk to us. Love the picture where she is drinking her cuppa tea after the audition does anyone know where I can find that picture, want to put it up and frame it and have it at my desk, thinking about the joy she brings?????????????????????????

@ Lonnirose, the arms are wonderful aren't they? It looks as if she is trying to take HER audience up into her arms to give them all a hug. All those coloured sticks waving....Susan MUST have seen them glowing in the darkness....What a great feeling, to know you are that loved....by former strangers, I say former because we all feel like we do know her now...:)

As I said on the earlier Susan Performs At Glasgow thread, singing with more power and authority and stage presence and confidence than ever, and dont see how the voice can get any better but it seems like it does.
Posted by aliz on June 16, 2009
Lonnirose, I have thought the same thing with her arms opening wide. It's her way of giving us a hug, especially before and after the performance,or when the audience cheers her on. How loving is that. And blows us a kiss too!!!

@Graeme1C5, Perhaps you are just a troll wanting to cause a disturbance, or perhaps you're closely connected to the woman who lost her life to swine flu? In which case I offer my sympathy. But the truth is that none of us would need to look far to find someone that's suffered a tragic personal lss. I myself have lost 4 sisters (one my twin) over the last few years, and recently one of my surviving sisters lost her home in the horrific Kinglake bushfires. Her daughter's home next door was also burnt to the ground and tragically her other daughter (along with her husband and two young children) burnt to death when they were trapped in their home...no way to escape the flames!

So, yes! tragedy can strike anyone at anytime! We all die, and that's God's will.

Finding joy in the soothing voice of Susan Boyle reminds us all that, amidst all the tragedy of this world, there is also incredible beauty.

Susan has the ability to reconnect me with the love and beauty of God's grace.

"Counterculture Icon" Stephen Gaskin says: "I have studied swamis and yogis and Indian road chiefs and a zen master, and I have heard scads of psychedelic divas with god knows what chemicals brewing in their bodies. And I have not in my lifetime seen any other person, spiritual teacher, or entertainer put out that power and quality of personal chi. If Susan Boyle had lived in India 150 years ago, they would probably have built a temple around her."

You gotta love it. Diversity who? Susan is on the cover of people magazine this morning. A true piece of good news to share around the world. She could sing off her front porch, anywhere, and I'd love to hear it. If I ever came up to her, I wouldn't hug her, I'd ask her to sing something, lol.

You thought Glasgow was cheering loud, wait until tonight in Edinburgh. She's going to get even louder cheers in the states. I think if she just adds a small pop to the music, she'd be capable of selling out every venue, theater, and establishment she visits. She will. This is still just the beginning.

Why is it that this fan site holds an attraction for ghouls? I think it is because they are drawn to the angelic white light that surrounds Susan Boyle and think they can diminish it through their dark energy. Think again, imps! The focused light of God will never be extinguished by the chaos of the dark.
Posted by gardenator on June 16, 2009
Morning susanistas ~ Don't know about you, but I slept the sleep of the just last night, somehow feeling personally vindicated that after all she has been through, Susan Boyle was totally embraced during the Glasgow performance. The naysayers, and 15 minutes of fame sayers were shown Loud and Clear (ha!) that Susan is a Super Nova. And most important, Susan saw and heard that for herself. I think the audience reaction must have been quite heartening to her. From what her publicist says it was. So much for 'not being able to perform before a live audience'. And as has been noted, her voice is so big, it can rise over the SusaScreams. Evat, I love that term. Might be a trend.

Worthwile posting entirely, From people.com:

Susan Boyle Makes Concert Comeback By Simon Perry

Originally posted Tuesday June 16, 2009 06:35 AM EDT Susan Boyle

Susan Boyle made a triumphant return to Scotland Monday night – and was met with rapturous applause.

As part of the Britain's Got Talent tour starring every finalist from the TV competition, the concert in Glasgow came a day after runner-up Boyle canceled her two performances in Manchester because of a need to rest, it was announced.

But Monday night she wowed 6,000 fans, as Boyle, 48, sang her renditions of "I Dreamed a Dream" and "Memory" and sparked spontaneous applause, according to her publicist.

Rest Is Vital Her brother John wasn't at the show – he hopes to catch his sister in Edinburgh – but, from photos he has seen, says it is obvious that she is "enjoying herself." Adding that 95 percent of his sister's fan mail comes from the U.S., John Boyle tells PEOPLE: "I just want her to be happy and enjoy herself and sing. At the end of the day, it's the quality of her voice that's got her this far."

Promoters are being careful not to push Boyle. After placing second in the Britain's Got Talent final, the Scottish singing sensation was hospitalized with exhaustion for four days.

About a week later, she met with producers from Simon Cowell's Syco label at Sony and began to choose tracks for the album of her dreams. She and producers hope it will be out by Christmas.

"She has a vast musical knowledge that she is bringing to the discussions," a source tells PEOPLE. But, again, she will not be rushed.

"It is one thing at a time, and first it is the tour," says someone close to Boyle. "Then she can move on to the album when she is ready."

The following is in today's Chicago Sun-Times, a mainstream newspaper in Chicago. Good news, if true, to those of us in the U.S. (especially Chicago for me). I did send a disparaging e-mail to the columnist for the distorted remarks about Susan's fragile emotional state and needing to take breaks:

U.S. BOUND: Thanks to all the interest in ''Britain's Got Talent'' competitor Susan Boyle on this side of the pond, a U.S. concert tour for the Scottish singing sensation is in the works -- with Chicago being a city that's on the list of likely stops.

The only fly in the ointment is an ongoing concern about Boyle's somewhat fragile emotional state -- and her need to keep taking breaks from performing due to what her team calls ''exhaustion'' issues.

No matter what, Boyle is pretty much set up for life. Various deals -- including an upcoming Christmas album, concert gigs and a ghostwritten book deal -- reportedly will eventually plunk more than $10 million in the YouTube phenom's bank

Yeah! Roll on Christmas....I am hoping against hope that there is a C.D. of some sort, by Susan, in England when I get there in August...even just a 'wee' one will do. I haven't ordered one...but will be shopping for one..If not...I'll get one of my brother's to send it over as soon as it's on the shelves. I won't be able to buy one in this small town....and don't go to the city often.,

Mind you...fans in Toronto...my daughter lives there..I'll get HER buy me one...Bet she wants a copy too after she's listened to it. She is a big fan of Musicals and anything to do with theatre.

Meanwhile...don't have an i pod thingy...so will keep on playing back these wonderful videos....

Oh, gosh! I'm beginning to feel nostalgic about this fansite, too and am all in tears! I will so much miss those daily meetings with you all when this first chapter in Susan's story is over! This site gave us an outlet to actually speak our hearts out, which is seldom granted in the highly competitive rat race world we're living in. I bet Susan herself knows all about its cruelty, now... Thank you everyone for all your uplifting posts! You're great people, guys!

Gayla, thank you for posting that link! He does not use the term "cosmic resonance" but those words occurred to me while I was reading the column (although I believe it is even more than that). I never heard that term before that I recall, yet the words came to my mind, and when I googled them, I found this definition: Light, Energy, Sound, Vibration, Resonance, Integration, Healing, Harmony flow through you.

Here is what I posted on my Facebook page this morning: "Yes, what is it that made millions of people all over the world, in many languages and cultures, simultaneously experience, in exactly the same words, that an angel was speaking through the voice of this little woman? How can it be that electronic recordings can even transmit that quality? It has been so from the first time her voice was aired on television and youtube. Cosmic resonance."
Posted by Lonnirose on June 16, 2009
I hear you, AmazinglyCritical, but I still want to hug her - I wish I could take away all the pain she's ever experienced. I feel so much pride in her, as though she's my very own child. So happy that she's getting the recognition and the adulation she has earned and so richly deserves. When I was watching her Glasgow video just now, I was thinking that two months ago when she did her audition there she had no idea how famous she would be in such a short time.

On the cover of People magazine? Oh wow! Wonder if I can find one in this little town.

I just feel so privileged. Last night, I went to the most spectacular concert ever - I stood in line with thousands of people from all over the world, all excitedly exchanging their favorite Susan anecdotes, and, eventually, I sat in a seat directly in line with the center of the stage as that incredible woman sent her voice soaring over the banners and waving hands and the roar of 10,000 fans. My heartfelt thanks to everyone who made it possible to see Susan's dream coming true before her eyes, and who brought the nearly unbearable excitement of that show into my home here in a tiny New England town a long, long ways from Scotland.

Love, love, love the new video!

I am pleased to read some positive press for Susan. However, there was some negative as well. It seems as if some people have their panties in a wad because she is receiving "special" treatment.

Helllooooo!? That is because Susan is not just a past contestant on BGT - she is a WORLD STAR. After the tour is over and no one remembers the name of the "winner" of BGT - Susan will still be on the world stage making her mark.

I haven't finished reading all the posts yet, but this line from HAPPY resonated strongly with me:

"I feel heartbroken, though, this morning. I get that sad feeling a page has been turned in Susan's story. We, fans are losing her somehow, she now belongs to the world and history..."

As I watched the video clip from Kalua this morning (thank you for that - the clarity was superb!) during the standing ovation I just sat here and burst into tears. I mean, not a little teary, I burst into tears. And I think part of was due to what Happy said. We've lost her in just that way Happy describes. So it was a bittersweet moment, but of course I am thrilled that Susan is getting to experience this.
Posted by wenvas on June 16, 2009
@Ammo, strength comes, I believe, from putting one's trust completely and utterly in the (absolute) "Will of God". I'm sure we're all familiar with that line in the Lord's Prayer; "Thy Will Be Done..."
Posted by Scrooge on June 16, 2009
@piggie: I think you bring up an important point here. We may feel like we are losing close ties to Susan with her widening circle of success but she will need all of our support and encouragement in the future and we mustn't stop supporting her because we think she will not need us.She will.
Posted by YUSA on June 16, 2009
@Happy - You have managed to put into words what we all are feeling - whether we know it or not. It's like watching your child take his/her first step - you encourage and applaud them but somewhere deep inside you know the transition has begun.

So Susan, we applaud and encourage you with the tears of a parent. There will be many milestones from this point forward but this - this is the sweetest moment of them all! Good luck to you dear! We will all be keeping a watchful eye over you - you are safe - now flourish.

Thanks wenvas...I was brought up with religion, took classes at High School etc. In the school I teach at in Canada, the Lord's Prayer is back in the classroom at the request of, Christian parents. 75 percent of our students are Mennonite.

I believe in Susan having been sent to us all, no matter what our belief system is. So that's a good start...I think.

I decided, when I first heard her lovely voice and began to hear her story....she is a true, true angel...who has come into my life in a BIG way :)

@piggie: I don't feel as we've lost Susan, on the contrary, I think that with our moral support we have helped her to realize her dream, we've won another Susan, the Susan she herself wanted to become. I'm convinced that all of us we'll continue following her career step by step.

It was imposible for her to remain the same Susan, public life has some constraints, and one of them is the change.

Inside she will never change, she will remain the Susan we all know, As for the outside, i'm convinced she is very happy to look glamorous and pretty!!! She has paid a high price for that, but the reward is her dream.... To sing!!!
Posted by Scrooge on June 16, 2009
@Kalua: Kalua, I agree. If Susan had wanted to remain the same she would have sat drinking tea in her little house and watching other people perform on the telly. She knew that her life was too small and she wanted to expand her horizons. Change was inevitable.
Posted by CanadianBill on June 16, 2009
Kalua, I totally agree with you - of course Susan is evolving, growing, becoming what she's always wanted to be. What's amazing to me is how brilliantly and quickly she's doing it.

@ Ammo, Some people are drawn, due to their personality, to follow the "Religious" path, many are not. Either way we're all "One" with God, and we cannot escape that :-)

I've been trying for years to get my husband to make me a plaque for the garden...something I read when I was a young girl and I've always wanted that in my garden. It goes thus;

"The kiss of the sun for pardon The song of a bird for mirth You're nearer God's heart in a garden than anyplace else on earth."

He still hasn't made it for me...Oh! Well :-(
Posted by Scrooge on June 16, 2009
@wenvas: Why don't you make the plaque yourself?
Posted by ammo on June 16, 2009
@ wenvas...so strange that you put that quote up there...I have JUST got back to by love of gardening the last few weeks...I am on leave from work...so now have time :)

It was a little annoying that the fans were screaming and shouting so much, and I wish they had quietened a bit whilst she was singing. But what a fantastic reception they gave her! Scottish people are very proud people and them showing their appreciation like this is just going to instill more confidence in Susan. They loved her. Thank God they disregard the nonsense of the tabloids. They know they have a treasure in Susan and they wanted her to know she was loved - even before she opened her mouth. She looked so beautiful, sounded so confident and fantastic. I hope she is received as equally at Edinburgh and that she goes from strength to strength - what an amazing woman she is.

Pehaps all we've "lost" is the punching bag Susan whose abuse made us so sad. I will be very surprised if Susan does not do interviews in as sweet and real way as she did before all this star treatment. So looking forward to hear her voice again (even if the old USA trained ears miss some of her great quips in that wonderful brogue.) Love to see the twinkle in her eyes and the very real smile directed to real people.

To BethintheUSA...the cosmic resonance....I feel the same way..this is what my profile here says "Just another Susan adoring fan and cat owner. I'm kinda' shy and private, so will just say that I live in Florida have a wonderful husband, a full time job and am civic minded. Susan has hit a spot in me as she has with the rest of you that transcends words and goes directly to the music of the soul. I'm not as spiritual a person as many of you but I do know that if there is a GOD his/her native language is the mathmatics of music. Susan's music is pure. No undertones/no overtones, pure sound that vibrates the resonant frequency of my soul."

I approach it this way: she is still ours, only this ours gets bigger and bigger. That already started when the auditionvideo went on youtube. First 10 views, then a million then over the 100 million. Same thing with this site.

@Kalua ,I agree. Remember when Simon asked her how old she was and she said 47, then he rolled his eyes as if to say why do you bother with this at your age. Thats when she did her wiggle and bobbed her head at him and gave him sass and said thats just one side of me! She was saying I'm more than just a 47 year old women. She wanted to be seen in a different light. Think about it ,she was low income and probably couldn't afford the beauty parlor ,its expensive to get a cut, curl and color. But just because she lived on a fixed income doesn't mean she doesn't have value, look how nice she kept up her home, she also was not lazy but did volunteer work. I am sure there are not many jobs in a small town with less than 5000 people. Even people with college degrees are out of work these days. I think she went on that show hoping to win the prize money (which I'm sure she could use) and to sing before the queen. But as it turned out she is a way bigger talent than even she realised and she will get far more than that. So I think she welcomes the changes in her life. She was looking for an opportunity to better the circumstances of her life.

YUSA ~ Agree, it is just like being a proud parent, watching your 'little girl' graduate from high school. She is a big girl now, but is still your little girl. But like all good parents, we must let her spread those wings and fly.

What is hard, I think, is that it all took place in such a compressed period of time--her rise to fame, her self metamorphosis, her star persona. I am certain she is that same person inside that you would enjoy tea with, Happy. It is just that the PR machine has taken over control of her public image. It probably will be better once this tour is over and she is allowed to have interviews, and once again to be Susan of the people.
Posted by Kalua on June 16, 2009
@patriciasart I couldn't have said it better :-)
Posted by wenvas on June 16, 2009
@ Evat, Actually I did search the internet some years ago but couldn't find what I wanted. I'm not particular about design at all just so long as I can hang it in the garden (or front porch), it's the words that count :-)
Posted by radfan on June 16, 2009
@Kalua...agree - but; look at the videos from the moment this tour started, an announcer comes out and introduces Susan. She does two songs from the talent show; then the announcer then returns to the stage as a cue to Susan time to leave the stage. This is all scripted and Susan is only to do (while on this tour) the show as the promoters have it scripted.

Let's wait an see after the tour is over and she does her own shows; I think it would be a hoot if she sang whatever song SHE wants..then does her Susan wiggle and yells out "THIS IS FOR YOU TOMMY BABY!!!". I think I would laugh so hard I'd cry!!!!

Hello everyone....I just wanted to share something I came across.....When I read it, it occured to me that this is a story of Susan.....I hope you appreciate it as much as I did.....

I saw a butterfly today Small and green with no wings Crawling into shadows hiding from a world who ignores it's subtle beauty Afraid to never be noticed...appreciated

I saw a butterfly today Camoflauged and shielded in self-made walls Neglecting the world of it's gentle touch Afraid to be met with a forceful hand

I saw a butterfly today Wings new and fresh Excited with exhileration Facing a world with new courage Knowing it can not be harmed

I saw a butterfly today Blue and gold streaked the sky embracing the sunlight's rays Fluttering around my head Carrying my heart on her flight

I saw a butterfly today

Of course I'm tremendously happy Susan is finally making all her dreams come true and I wouldn't like anything to be otherwise! I was just expressing a very personal feeling. I think what made me so emotional, and I see in other posts I was not the only one, is the amazingly fast evolution of Susan's career from utmost simplicity to super world star! One has to adapt very quickly as a fan! I still can't quite fathom how she manages that herself! Having kept all that power hidden within for so long, it must be mind boggling to see it suddenly thrown to the world and getting such an overwhelming response, too! But, again she made it all happen!

@HAPPY, Kalua, Scrooge, 281165, and some others...I understand. But I think YUSA said it best for me: "Happy, You have managed to put into words what we all are feeling - whether we know it or not. It's like watching your child take his/her first step - you encourage and applaud them but somewhere deep inside you know the transition has begun."

Of course Susan has to grow and change in order to accomplish her dreams. And her fans will be here to support and cheer her on. Watching her do this so beautifully is just mesmerizing. But I've always been a very sentimental person who thinks alot about the past, so no matter what, that nostalgia is going to be there for me. But I can be nostalgic and very happy at the same time.
Posted by Kalua on June 16, 2009
@radfan The tour will give Susan the experience she needs in front of great audiences, before that she had appeared only in the semis and the final.

After the tour the sky is the limit!!! She can do whatever she wants.
Posted by Patricia's Art on June 16, 2009
@gardenator , I agree. I think she is still the same Susan. Notice in between shows she dresses very casual and doesn't wear makeup. I think she will always be a real, down to earth person. She just has to get through these BGT tours. Once her CD is out ,I think she will be able to carry on with her career on her own terms. And we will probably see good interviews ,like something on Public TV not these crazy talk shows like Oprah that seem to asked dumb questions and control what people say. I always liked the Charlie Rose talk shows. I saw one of his shows where he interviewed Frank McCourt who wrote Angela's Ashes. It was very interesting to hear Mr McCourt tell about his childhood in Ireland. Some talk shows are intellectually uplifting ,but the mainstream network talk shows are Dummy Down in my opinion.
Posted by Lonnirose on June 16, 2009
YUSA, you're right, Susan IS the star of that show and everyone had better just accept that fact and go sit in their little corners and hush. After the BGT tour is over, the others will rarely be heard or seen again and that's not the case with Susan.

We've all been hoping that Susan will give an interview or speak to her audience, but actually I imagine she's been told not to do that by her manager. We all know that the slimoids are just waiting to turn anything she says into fodder for their hate rags, the criticizing b******'s. So as much as we want to hear her speaking, I think we're just going to have to wait until a reputable interviewer has her on his/her show. And it may be a long wait, I'm afraid.

People always scream and shout at concerts, even at Celine Dion in Vegas! That's how they show they love her. Imagine if she came on and all was QUIET..she would think she was not making an impression on them. I think she is getting used to it. All I hope is that the fans do not drown out the music for her.
Posted by slotpro on June 16, 2009
Thank you Juliad for your welcome to the site.Yes, it is a great site. I had it in my "favorites" and somehow thought to join the BGT's "Official" site instead but never participated in that one! So I have a lot of "blog" reading to catch up on here and not repeat info. BBC this morning(June 16) reports that her publicist(Nicola Phillips) confirms Susan will sing in Edinburgh this evening around 2100BGT. Edinburgh is even closer to her home so that should be exciting. Before joining here yesterday, I would enter several British newspapers "Comment" sections to speak up for Ms.Boyle. Thought some of you would enjoy this comment(in various forms)published yesterday(l5th)in Telegraph.uk, Sun.uk,etc.Did any of you see Piers Morgan's Burger King ad that came out yesterday(15th)where he lays in front of a fireplace? In the interview re ad they asked about Susan's health and he responded that she was 48 yrs.old and so tired. It wasn't as if she was a 19yr.old dancer in Diversity! He meant this in support of Susan ,of course, but he's only 4 yrs.younger. So here's the comment(varied for each publicaion): "Whoa,Piers. Glad you're lying down for the ad.After all, you're 44yrs.old. It's not as if you're a 19yr.old dancer. Rest up. In four years you'll be 48 too like Susan." So now with this great website for Susan, I can rest from my newspaper "Comments"campaign in her defense and enjoy.

That Mirror article posted above is so ugly ! Low class. I think Susan won't be taken seriouly until she is through with that show. I can't believe the meanest of these articles. These writers sound like people who would beat up their own mothers. That article is the worst one I have seen yet! If I was her brother Gerry I would be tempted to hire a thug to beat that writer up!

And, of course, since he said that's the way he'd do it, that's the only way I've thought of it being...perhaps I should change my line of thought :-)

Hi, villagers! Well, we've done it. We've literally booked a room at the Happy Valley Inn for June 26 through July 2!! We have our tickets from NYC to Edinburgh, and we only have 9 more days to prepare! We've been seriously thinking and praying about various fan conversations here and on the main YouTube site regarding how to bless the residents of Blackburn, and we want to take some tangible first steps. It helps that Del, being half Scottish, has long wanted to visit -- and now is the perfect time, is it not?! ♥♥♥

Tommy, that butterfly poem would be wonderful in a Susan video. She definitely is our beautiful butterfly opening her wings ready to explore the world. Another miracle, is Susan.

Posted by HAPPY on June 16, 2009
TommyUSA, Susan is indeed the most beautiful butterfly there is! (Except butterflies can't sing!Lol)It needs a true butterfly heart like yours to be able to see that...

BethInTheUSA, thanks for that reference to "cosmic resonance": Light, Energy, Sound, Vibration, Resonance, Integration, Healing, Harmony flowing through you! That sums up all that I've been feeling for weeks every time I hear Susan sing and couldn't quite put together!

I have just watched the Daily Record video showing our friend Teesiel still starry-eyed after attending Susan's Glasgow performance. A few young ones were also interviewed and their reactions were the same as ours! She was simply fantastic! A little boy even said she was gorgeous! Susan, you are a wonder!

This all happens because Susan's mellow voice expresses deep respect for human feelings while her awesome stage presence provides them with a powerful outlet. This is largely missing in today's cynical world. Her signature song tells about a nice girl who's being cheated on by a man. Well, we're all being cheated on in this world which offers us heaps of unneeded things while depriving us of what we need most: Love and Respect. Susan Boyle's singing is true Humanity eventually calling for its due...

The guy who wrote the Mirror article is just looking for attention. You almost have to feel sorry for someone like him. It is obviously written to generate hate mail. Poor dude.... he was probably ridiculed as a kid and just didn't handle it as well as Susan.

Wenvas ~ I like folk art. So I painted in the folk art tradition. Just took what I had--an old piece of barn wood and some acrylic paints--and now, when I walk into my garden, there is that that beautiful message on this humble sign. Don't know about your husband, but with mine, we might enter the next Ice Age before the wood burned sign was complete,no matter how good the intentions..Ha.

Slotpro~ Good on your message to Piers. He was being rather patronizing, wasn't he? Wonder if he talks that way about Simon, who is older than Susan..?

Happy - well said. It continues to amaze me how one sweet Scottish lady has touched so many millions of hearts. If someone had told me 3 months ago that this could happen I would not have believed it. She touches us on so many levels that there just are no words to express it - although you have done a fantastic job of it!

Here's another little download you may like to have. If you fancy a sing along to 'I Dreamed', you can download a MIDI file of the music (it's only 20K in size!):

Download here

It should play in your default audio player (Media Player,etc.). I assume I'm going to be asked what a MIDI file is, so here we go: it's basically a small file containing the music, but the actual sounds and instruments are generated electronically by your computer's sound chip which is why the file is only 20K (it only contains the music and a list of the instruments to use to play it, not the sounds themselves).

Howdy Pards,

I've been readin' our posts and, as we rejoice at Susan's dreams coming true, it seems that more than a few of us have a longing for the "good ol' days" just two months back...

I believe there is a good reason for this. You see, we didn't just fall in love with Susan the incredible singer, we fell in love with Susan. Everything about Susan.

We fell in love with her wonderful sense of humor. We fell in love with her "sass". We fell in love with her humility. We fell in love with her life story. We fell in love with her bein' gobsmacked by fan letters from people she did not even know. We fell in love with her singing into her hairbrush in front of her mirror. We fell in love with her laughter as the Iron Bru fellow stopped his truck to hug her and give her a big bottle of that soft drink. We fell in love with the folks in her town who loved her. With the simple words, "Just let the lassie sing." We fell in love with her settin' up on that hillside lookin' out over Scotland. We fell in love with her puttin' those flowers into a vase...flowers from some lady in America she had never met. In short we fell in love with everything about Susan.

Look folks, over the past couple months we have all been on an emotional roller coaster. Incredible highs and terrible lows. When you love someone as much as we love Susan you wonder how could anyone stoop so low as to deliberately try to hurt her? We felt, and feel, genuine anger towards the lowlife British tabloids. We felt incredible joy when Susan stepped out on that stage yesterday to thunderous applause from the people of her homeland. Incredible joy at multiple standing ovations...

Let's face it folks...our hearts belong to Susan. Not just the singing sensation...but to everything about her. We miss her smile, her laughter, her natural light heartedness, her talking voice. We belong to her...because in seven short minutes two months ago she captured all of our hearts...forever. Taint no gettin' around it folks this here is genuine, authentic, real, honest to gosh love. That's why we feel like we do.

Adios for now. Talk to ya on down the trail.

Wild Ol' Dan

Why do some of Susan's fans root out the most disgusting stuff they can find then run back here to share it? Leave that tabloid crap in the gutter where you found it and just walk away.

(The above rant is just for the few who can't stay away from negativity.)

Just as Scotland is proud of SUSAN, so am I proud of her!!! and very thankful to God that He has showered her with a BIG BLESSING: singing to a live audience!

Along with her fans here, I'm waiting patiently when all these celebrations -- the BGT Tour -- are over, and she can settle down and complete her CD in a more peaceful place - the recording studio. Well, I hope it will be smooth and peaceful for her. :-)

Then, we'll buy her first CD which we can see coming as the world's NUMBER ONE HIT ever! To be followed by many others.

Along with you all, I'll continue to pray for her, love her, and wish the best for her! She's brought us so much inspiration and joy that the least we can do is just to continue our support, isn't it?

The audience's reaction of loud screams, uncontrollable cheers, and noise is typical of Tours by competitive (final) talents' shows. That, I believe, is a norm. I've been to only one tour-show (Australian Idol), and thank goodness I don't have a strong favourite contestants from the other years that I'm not inclined to see a Tour-concert and don't have to endure (hehe) the loud screams.

I think in concerts of professional singers, people are more behaved, 'though of course Susan is already a star. People listen to the songs; they sing along and they dance. In theatres like the Burswood theatre in Perth, the legendary Neil Sedaka was received twice in recent years by an adoring, faithful audience with huge applause and cheers -- but everything was beautifully orderly.

The time will come, when Susan's career will include live performances, that she will be in company of an adoring-but-behaved audience. :-)

Meanwhile, the Tours by competitive-talent shows remain like a BIG PARTY for the people, and I hope that this type of reaction is understood by Susan -- I know it is and that, apart from occasional normal tiredness, she's enjoying all the adulation and joy that abound around her.

Warmest wishes from Australia Elmie

Wonderfully expressed, Wild Ol'Dan! "THE COURSE OF TRUE LOVE NEVER DID RUN SMOOTH"!...(Shakespeare) That's why I'm beginning to think there might really be something more than human expressing itself through her. Call it God, Eternal Love or the Music of the Spheres. There's indeed something above our understanding happening here!
Posted by Scrooge on June 16, 2009
@xeno: it is so weird to me that a person found an article they found to be completely disgusting and felt they needed to "share" it with others. Why would you inflict such crap on others?
Posted by DANNYG. on June 16, 2009
Gardenator, I like that, Super Nova, that is definitely what she is. I just looked at the video with Tessiel on it and it was great. All you members who were privileged to see Susan in person, you know how badly we wanted to go too. (I personally would have gladly knocked you out and stole your tickets).

Happy, yes, I have been having the same thoughts and feelings. I do miss the time when we saw Susan talking with various interviewers and felt as if she was talking and visiting with ourselves, and came to know and treasure the beautiful person she is. And that will not be again except in our memories. We did indeed feel like we had a special bond with her. Now, she is moving further and further into the bigger world. And this is, of course, what we wanted for her with all our hearts. But we will miss the cozy times. Susan will grow and develop as a person, performer, singer, But the person she is in her core will not change. She will still be the person we love. I hope there will be times when she will do an interview, and we will hear her talking again. I'm sure there will.

Now, with this latest performance, in Glasgow, we see her becoming the singer and performer she always knew she could be. No, that she always knew she was.

Your well wishes here for Susan are so uplifting - the poetry posted by Tommy, Wild Ol' Dan's "we fell in love with Susan" message, Ivory Mist's reminder of what to expect from concerts (e.g. Celine Dion's), Xenos' wise advice, and tens and tens of other lovely messages.

It is soooo fantastic to be amongst great Susan-fans!

By the way, referring back to my previous post, the Happy Valley Inn is the pub in Blackburn where Susan sings (sang?) karaoki and drinks lemonade. They have a few rooms, too, and God willing we will be staying there from June 26 to July 2! We'll find a way to post Blackburn photos, comments, etc., so anyone who's interested can virtually accompany us!

Susan is still the same person we fell in love with. She is enjoying her dream and I for one am so thrilled for her and so proud of her that I cannot even express it in simple words. Our girl is doing what she loves. She has given us so much joy, and I wish her that same joy a million times over. What a beautiful experience just to watch her, and if that's all I ever get to do I will be content knowing that she is in this world touching the hearts of millions.

Sigh.... if screaming at concerts is the norm... oh well now we know what to be prepared for when "The Tour" commences. I personally like the "New Susan", the polished performer with the stellar vocals. It's always been about the singing. She looks fabulous on stage! Now if everyone would stop screaming in the middle of the song.... I can always wish. lol
Posted by terijay on June 16, 2009
Wild Ol Dan- She is still the same girl we fell in love with. The difference is she is a professional performer now, and is doing her best to act every inch the part. She gives so much in her performances each night, it has to take a toll. I hope she takes at least one day off a week in the next nearly THREE more weeks of this tour, which yesterday Piers Morgan called "Grueling." read somewhere George Samson took yesterday off, and not one made a big deal about it. Correct me if I am wrong Teesil. What's up with Piersy Baby? Has he lost his marbles? Why a somewhat dignified man would pose like that for a perfume ad is beyond me. I would love to be a fly on the wall if Susan sees it. I would love to see her reaction...most likely she would either giggle with laughter, or, print it out and frame it..not sure which.

If everyone would like a video of Susan with a minimum of background noise it would be the one from wraith1968uk taken on the 13 of June at Sheffield. Her voice will make you cry when she sings "Touch Me". I think this is the best voice quality with more Susan and less audience.

And are we sure that isn't a body double for Piersy baby in the ad? -- I doubt Susan has access to a computer nor the expertise to use it yet, but I'm sure many of our postings are being shared with her. It amazes me to see what a global village we have become here on this site.
Posted by DJG-Scotland on June 16, 2009
Well, tonight's show starts at 7.30pm again so video will probably start appearing very late if previous days are anything to go by. Given that we usually end up with a good selection of videos as the hours pass by, I will wait until tomorrow before creating the Edinburgh DVD image file. That way I can pick whichever we've decided is the best. Besides, if I stay up until 3am anymore my head will explode!
Posted by aroseblush on June 16, 2009
That was a body double used for Piers body, and his head was added latter. Funny.

DJG-S: Can't begin to express my thanks for your expertise in delivering these audio and video recordings.
Posted by fumingjane on June 16, 2009
IMO, if Susan gets exhausted after singing two songs once a day, I don't see her doing a "tour." That would entail an hour or two of stage time, lots of singing, lots of travel, rehearsals, hair, nails, make-up, day after day after day.

It might be considerably less stressful doing "one-night only" gigs around the world. Like the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Madison Square Garden, Sydney Opera House. How cool would that be!

Bravo Susan, you just get better and better! Jane.

Troll alert! We seem to have some on the site, telling us how awful something is and then posting the link. Ignore that or the ones that are a link only. The sites generate money from clicks, or else someone is so miserable in their life they try to make others uncomfortable. Don't click on those and note the sender. The rags will probably assign someone else to do that periodically, so best to stay alert.

Reindeer: Thanks very much for that clean, clear, stable video of Susan in Glasgow. I watched it this morning. Loved it.

Tommy, thanks pal. Now you have ABBA in my head! I gave Susan a rest to revisit all those wonderful tunes of ABBA from so long ago. How do we make music recommendations for Susan's upcoming CD? "Thank You For the Music" is Susan's life story! Would be thrilling to hear her sing that live!

Back to work now, cya later. Jane.

Susan_Boyle_-__Memory__amp__I_Dreamed_a_Dream_-_BGT_Tour_-_Live_in_Glasgow_15_06_09.flv by 281165 Thankyou this is the clearest I've seen yet. I could hear her put those words in the room and understand why people screamed in response. My spine was tingling. I can just imagine how it sounded to the people who were actually there. There is no limit to perfection. I think Susan Boyle gets closer than ever before. This is why people are screaming in reponse. If she keeps singing like this they will just have to adjust the sound system to deal with it.

A comment: I'd love to hear Susan sing some Etta James tunes like Fool That I Am, At Last and Trust in Me...in case she is looking for suggested material! :)

A question: Anyone know when we can expect a CD release to purchase?

I'm going to have to rig by computer screen to he treadmill to continue reading each of your blogs as I intend to do..excellent.."Scrooge" as to your earlier question, yes, each performer gets paid 500pounds for each performance on tour I read somewhere. But as Susan's brother ,Gerry, says she's not materialistic and in it for the money..she just wants to sing. Her goal in the BGT contest was to be able to buy her home valued at 88,000 pounds as her family has rented it for 50 years! Thanks Chtimi7 (& evaton) re Susan's address specifics. Three weeks ago I sent a card but I add after her name "Professional Singer"! I've only sent one and doubt I'd send anymore as they've been deluged. The woman Manager of Happy Valley Hotel Pub where S.B. use to sing asked if fans would stop sending the mail there for Susan as she had been carting over to Susan's house and didn't mind but it was getting to be a bit much. Thanks to all and your sincerity here..a new registrant..slotpro..Canadian,eh..

@Teeisel. Loved seeing you first thing this morning. I checked the site even before my first cup of tea, and there you were! Your other reports on the blog are wonderful. I love the details of the setting and how she looked and that statement that the Susan of the Audition is no more. Poignant and so true. Yet when I go back to that video I catch glimpses of the glamorous look to come. There are some camera angles and close-ups where she is tranformed by her singing. I suspect she doesn't really know that yet - can't see what an observor does.

I have a question for you. What did her voice sound like compared to what you've heard on YouTube? Thanks again. You were great on TV.
Posted by 281165 on June 16, 2009
@Xeno and Scrooge: You both are right. No tabloids in the blogs. Just ignore them totally. If everyone on this planet would do that they are out of business.

SusaPeople ~

Is there a link to this cheesecake of Piers? That could make my day -- and Susan's...

And a link to our friend Teesiel speaking with the Sottish press? That was a great report she posted last night. I look forward to her review of the show tonight.

BrooklynBlessings~Can't wait for you to send posts after sitting in the Happy Valley Inn, 'among friends'.

DJG-S- Thanks for putting together all those videos, though I feel like you are talking in a foreign language when you speak 'computereze'. How did you ever learn all that??

Off to a work assignment. By the time I get finished, good people will have uploaded the new video. Thanks in advance. To paraphrase a well known saying:

@ Tommy or Site Administrator:

I had a thought the other day about the Banner, and the home Site for the Fan Club. Under the banner, as you log into the site, I feel we should advertize in bold numbers, the amount of members that belong to this site. Almost 23,000 strong! I definitely feel we should promote that fact. That shows alot of love radiating out from our global village, 'Susanation'. We love Susan. It also shows that we have 'consumer power', as well as critical mass appeal. We should promote our largesse. No doubt, that Susan's publicist and others have already been to this site, and looked at the entire site.

@WENVAS - My mom used to have a cast iron (?) trivet or plaque with that "garden" saying. ;-) I did a quick search, and found a garden plaque/sign made of cast recycled aluminum (painted green/gold) with a spike to stick it in the ground near your garden. It's at PatioSigns.com; here's the link:

"The Kiss of the Sun" Garden Plaque (will open in a new tab or window, so you don't lose your place here!)

Try searching "garden plaques" and "garden signs" along with a phrase from the saying, and maybe you'll find other designs.

When retailers say 'Christmas' they actually mean early November because that gives them time to get it through their distribution chain and into the shops to sell. So, if SyCo are saying 'for Christmas' or 'by Christmas' they are most likely using the retailers definition of early November.

@wenvas - You're welcome. It was a lucky find. You might find other versions if you search a bit, but I admit I rather like the look of this one. ;-) Also, I think there are a lot of slight variations on the saying, so chances are everyone grew up hearing it a little differently!

@wenvas - I also sent an e-mail to my dad asking if that old plaque of my mother's is still in her "stuff" somewhere. She died last September, and he's been talking about "going through her stuff." You probably know how that goes; two years later, he'll still be talking about it. But if by chance he runs across it and it's something he's going to get rid of anyway, I told him to set it aside for me. I'll let you know if he does.

Some within us are thinking that Susan had already changed. Such thinking is somewhat parallel to the ideas planted by the media that Susan is already acting like Diva, charging a hundred thousand pounds per show and missing an appearance in Manchester. Maybe she'll change someday, but that day hasn't come yet, and hopefully never will. No DIVA would be stupid enough to toy with the media bosses at this early stage of popularity, Diva wannabe only becomes Diva once the money is already in the bank, and never before that. So in case of Susan, it seems like she already succeed but the truth is she still own nothing. That millions dollar flat, the Priory doctors, the limousines and the people surrounding her are still being paid by Simon and the BGT bosses. Retard as she might be, her family and accountant knows that and would advise her accordingly if she is indeed acting like a spoiled brat. NO, she's not acting diva. The simple Susie simply prefers to be herself - she wanna sing and nothing else matters - it's as simple as that. Like a bird who roams the sky, she sing when she's in the mood and retreat when she's tired. She did not ask for a hundred thousands pound, her accountant is the one who fixed the charge but the media made it look like it all coming from her. She did not performed in Manchester because there's less money in doing it, she's just tired or the BGT bosses who's decided to pull her off for a publicity stunt or whatever.

I tell you this though, a DIVA who sing while her eyes goes kaching! kaching! will never be able to put emotion in her song. Once the soul is polluted then the singing will never ever sound pure anymore. So, if you hear her and she touched your soul, that's her soul talking to yours. No amount of money can ever do that.

Enjoy her pure soul while it lasts. This thing happened very rare.

Oh my God! Oh my God! To have a fan say that is horrible beyond words.
Posted by maigret on June 16, 2009
@mfadz75 There is no reason to think Susan is retarded. If she had learning difficulties it is not the same thing. If someone is suggesting she is a spoiled brat ignore them, they don't know what they are talking about. We don't even know what the business arrangements are, and the media are only printing rumours. Ignore them. I agree we are witnessing something very rare.

Shame on you!

Don't ever talk like that! It's such a terrible thing to say!People who have developmental problems do not deserve that appellation and deserve all the respect for the daily struggles they go through in order to make it through life. Susan does not have any of these problems so even worse. Honestly! Think man, think before opening your mouth!

mfadz75 do not call her by those names that bullies called her from her childhood. This is a fansite for those who like Susan for her talent and for her beautiful soft demeanor. If you call her names here, you will be asked to leave.

@wenvas: I saw what that person wrote, along with calling Susan "simple Susie", like the bullies from Susan's childhood. And once Susan's souls is polluted....I can't believe the insulting nonsense this individual is spewing, probably convinced that he or she is saying something profound.

mfadz75: What you said IS horrible and insulting to Susan. You aimed slurs at her and implied that she's just a simpleminded soul with no thoughts or needs other than to sing mindlessly. If that wasn't your intention, then you need to clarify what you meant. The sort of nonsense you wrote has no place on Susan's fan site.

Hi everyone, take the moment to read the book "Rainbows in the dark", it's about a child that meets someone special, she has a learning disability and she is a concert cellist. I read it to Maddie when people just assumed that people with learning disabilities couldn't have a gift or even do something special. I have a learning disability, and I am a professional photographer and graphic designer. Most of it is self taught and I went to college. It just irks me so much when we're all under a label.

Posted by Lonnirose on June 16, 2009
Sounds like somebody's been reading a trash tabloid to me. Susan is NOT retarded, not even mildly! She only had learning difficulties as a child, and children nearly always shed that problem as they grow into adults. She is far more intelligent than I am, I'll tell you that.

And she is not acting like a diva! Susan has been ill, and it's only natural that her doctors and her manager treat her with care. We knew from the beginning that Susan probably would not perform all the tour dates, so it's not a big deal. I would rather have her miss one or two performances than become so unwell she has to drop out all together, unless that is what she wants to do.

All that said, I'm giving the writer above the benefit of the doubt that they didn't mean to say anything hurtful about Susan, but if you did it purposely we don't want you here.
Posted by Fran M. on June 16, 2009

@Fran M. - definitely! I am a non native English speaker, and we do make mistakes, but those are more sentence construction problems that plague everyone who's had to learn a different language. Besides that particular word is used in many languages in a similar form, not to mention simple, now how do you mistake that?

Am so sick of these names thrown out there and the patronizing manner in which some speak of her. None of them know her, yet feel free to make these kind of diagnoses practically! Horrid.

Posted by fano123 on June 16, 2009
Personally I think all the screaming and ovations during her performances are good thing.

One thing I think we are seeing is her doctor, manager and spokeswoman "teaching" Susan how to be a celebrity. Face it, its now part of her new job description. She needs to learn how to handle the media, her fans, hecklers, performance miscues, etc.

I am sure they are using the tour as a teaching opportinity:

1) Why care about what a handful Tabloid writers have to say, when over 250,000 people are paying good money to hear you sing.

2) Why care about a couple of hecklers booing (if this indeed did happen), when the other 10,000 people in the audience are crying, screaming and applauding in complete rapture.

3) So what if you missed a few words a song, your fans obviously weren't bothered by it. (And by the way, she handled that brilliantly)

I don't think Susan is emotionally fragile as the media would make us believe. I do think part of her personality is that she is a worrier.

I think the demonstrations of love and appreciation she is getting from the shows will start to prove to her she's got nothing to worry about.

At the end of the day, despite all the negative tabloid press, she is proving to be a big draw that can sell out large venues, she'll record several top selling CDs and there is still a HUGE appetite for her in the US.

***As a side note, I would like to applaud all the other WINNERS on the BGT tour. Like Susan, these are everyday people trying to live thier dream as well. I my mind, this makes them kindred spirits of Susan. I think it is a shame that the negative media on Susan is taking away from thier moment in the spotlight. To their credit, not one of them has publicly complained or said a bad word about Susan for it.

mfadz75 had no problem whatsoever writing a lengthy post, and expressing his thoughts clearly in english. If english is his 2nd language I'll eat my hat!

I'm convinced his motive was to insult Susan and his command of the language adequate enough to slip his insults into a post that seemed like he was supporting her.

Yes, Happy it is always good to find someone who is on the same page about something. One of the best things I found when I joined this fansite back in April was that I could gush as much as I wanted, write as floridly and extravagantly as I knew how, and no one looked at me askance, like I sould be in treatment. Because everyone was as "gobsmacked" as I and were gushing and writing the same way.
Posted by mfadz75 on June 16, 2009
I'm honestly leaving.. so sorry about all that.. but hopefully you all consider this, that teenage girl who rolled her eyes during Susan's first audition probably loves Susan very much too after she walks off stage, coz there were times when people just make mistake at one point but that doesn't means they're bad person. So for all you out there, give a person a benefit of a doubt. There will be a time when the media will cause you.. yes, even you.. to doubt her. If you're the kind of person who never give anyone else a benefit of a doubt, you will be the most easy prey by the media. I've made a mistakes and I admit it and I explained and I apologized and still got bashed. But don't you think you're the exact person who judge someone else by its cover? Isn't possible that what admittedly a mistake is.. actually a honest mistake? Bye.. please take care of her.
Posted by Lonnirose on June 16, 2009
Well, I'm sorry, but the more I think about anyone calling Susan names the madder I get - she's had enough of that!!! Makes my blood boil, I can tell you. Then I start thinking about what she said, "I just want to prove I'm not a worthless person". Then that breaks my heart. Oh, if she only knew how many millions of people think she is the most magnificent person on the planet.

Please leave those media reports off of a fan club that supports Susan and leave it to the medical professionals for any kind of diagnosis. Unqualified people with no training in that field have no place to diagnose Susan. Please leave it alone.

There are a number of us old fuddyduddies around, WAMcKinley. I am glad right now that she is getting the cheers and carrying on because I too think it is probably good for her. It has been 48 years coming. And Scotland needed to celebrate its own. That said, she is not a rock and roll performer and is in a totally different class than the others on the tour. And I too hope, wish, would like, to see her in something smaller than an arena or stadium, and without the screaming young. Surely it wouldn't happen in places like Carnegie Hall or Kennedy Center. Raise the roof before the concert and after each song and at the end of the concdert with all our hearts, but be able to hear her with not so much distraction.

Lonnirose, I think Susan is getting the picture of how many millions of people think she is the most magnificent person on the planet. The fantastic reception she is getting at these shows is the biggest reinforcement of that. I hope this tour will be all positive for her so that she emerges from it with the utmost self-confidence and self-worth.

Susan said she wanted to prove she wasn't worthless and had soemthing to offer. The woman landed in People Magazine, that constitutes as far from a learning disability if I ever saw one. She's just a normal person like all of us and she just so happened to offer something we only wish we could do. I didn't even have to think twice, soon as she opened her mouth to sing, she certainly did have something to offer. She gets all the good feelings in people running at full steam. Anyone who could have some negative thoughts in their head listening to her sing is the ones with the learning disabilities. Susan's a genius and now she's sharing her magic with us. I feel honored that someone is willing to put the effort into such a great success.

@mfadz75: I personally did not tell you you had to leave, I just delivered the simple message to you that we do not use the R word on this site and we would all appreciate it if you could watch your phrase-ology in the future when talking about our girl. You are as welcome as the flowers in spring as long as you are respectful.

Adios mfadz75: On the schale of trolling 1 to 10 you clearly scored an 9 by me. There is no need here whatsoever to try to classify Susan Boyle in those terms. Gerry Boyle had a great interview and declared that Susan was just an ordinary child. How closer to a serious source can you get.

@Kalua - my hat would be more palatable than having to read such diatribe here on a Susan fansite.

If it was just one insult I (might) have accepted it was unintentional, but two POINTED insults in the one post...no way, he meant it!

281165; did you even bother to read my comment about Susan Boyle before assuming me as a bad anti-susan boyle person?
Posted by LucyB on June 16, 2009
Do you suppose that the phone call from Andrew Lloyd WEbber has come thru for Susan offering the role of _______ in his new, or even old, play. Surely with her command of his songs, her singing ability, her world-wide fame, her theatrical abilities while singing, and her love of Webber's music, its just a matter of time (6 mos, maybe a year) before she is in one of his plays in the West Side (End, or however it is referred to) in London.---Now there would be a reason to go to London, no matter what the cost (don't know what my right arm is worth, but I would surely ransom it for the necessary tickets, both plane and theater!!!)

Hi everyone, I've been following the site since a few days after the audition came out, and I've just signed up so I can thank you all. I read your posts and so much is just like what I think and feel, I have felt part of the conversation just by reading. Something about Susan and her voice goes straight to the heart. I feel that, I feel it shared on this site. I just love her. I find her voice addictive. The glasgow experience has been a great highlight in her career so far - the first return to the stage where it began. Thank you so much for all the clips and the posts about it - on the other side of the world in New Zealand suddenly does not feel that far away from all the action after all :)

Thanks, everybody, for your enthusiasm about our stay in Blackburn!

@Scrooge…Better get that passport finally! And, hey, Tillamook Cheese is my favorite (born in Oregon…)!

@Fran M…We also live in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, near Lafayette High School. We probably won’t see Susan, but will see some of her friends!

@sassyone…We’ll definitely have some lemonade! I’ll try to find that book…

@yourawesome…Got your message! Anyone else wishing to send mail to Blackburn through us can PM me…
Posted by purplegothicqueen on June 16, 2009
mfadz75 - that was a disgusting rambling post! How could you refer to Susan like that? You are on her fan site for goodness sake. Have some respect!

This is a bit off track for us Susafans, but as global villagers, the site below is a place I go for quiet enjoyment..its a live webcam at a watering hole in Africa..what an amazing thing the internet is...

All of us came out to defend Susan, it sure shows the love we have for her. Our little village is strong and growing every single day. all of you guys are awesome. Keep up the good work to keep this place clean.

I once said to my sister while we were sitting in quiet little coffee shop on a hot blistering summers day drinking our iced lattes, “God I need to unhinge my head, unzip the top, remove my brain, and drain the black goo from within; then I will feel empty and ready to refill it with a healthy dose of knowledge.”

Despite her uncanny voice, we wouldn't all be sitting here every day neglecting our busy lives for hours on end if Susan were some simpleton who liked to dance around the hills picking heather and singing to the birds. Her fans immediately picked up on the complex, fascinating puzzle that this woman is. She is passionate. She is intelligent (read somewhere IQ around 120). She profoundly understands the lyrics she is singing. And she's going to do a lot more living from now on. In other words, she is not just fascinating to listen to, but to study as well. She has wisdom, and is gaining more of it each day as her world expands, and I hope she shares her wisdom with us in the years to come. She is a presence.

@PapamoaFan - welcome to Susanville! Much better than you joined, we can all enjoy together! And NZ is not far, these days we are all so close to each other no matter where we are and Susan brought us even closer together :)

I have worked with the development disadvantaged for years in the field of mental health. Susan does NOT fit in this mold. PLEASE don't use that terminology on this fan site ANYMORE. !!
Posted by Kalua on June 16, 2009
I'd love if Susan would sing Friends for life, I love that song.
Posted by Scrooge on June 16, 2009
@ArielAZ: LOL! How ARE things in Gloccamora? We don't know because we love the real Susan, not a will-o-the whisp.
Posted by mfadz75 on June 16, 2009
yeah wenvas, you're such an angel.. and you seems to cemented your opinion on me anyway.. but hey it's democracy.. nice though knowing there's such a hard core fan like you.. but you'll meet lots of people who might say something you perceived as an insult to Susan.. and rather than using kinds words into converting them to be her fans you probably chased them away. Wenvas, just be a little bit soft to others, especially to those who already apologized.

Brooklyn Blessings, it's a good read, and great for long flights. once you read the first one, you will be hooked, and become a fan of Diana Gabaldon's books. Jamie Fraser is made of yummy yummy stuff. OH and Clair isn't half bad either. LOL It's hot. oh and expect a lot of moments to close the book and just take it all in. she writes well, and she's very expressive. :) thus my name sassyone, I used to use Sassenach, it's Gaelic for English woman/visitor.

Brooklyn Blessings: I lived on 81st Street between 15th and 16th Avenues. Went to PS 204, which was across the street from my house, Dyker Heights Jr. High School up on 81st Street and 12th Ave., and New Utrecht High School, which was around the corner from me. After my mother passed away in 2004, we sold the house, and I'm now in Staten Island. So you're going to Susan's neighborhood, but not to a show, am I understanding correctly?
Posted by BethInTheUSA on June 16, 2009
MisTia: It seemed to me in that video that Susan is learning to control the crowd, to make them quiet down when they become too noisy. There is the part where she holds her hands up with the palms out and lowers them like she wants them to settle down, and she waits a few bars before she starts to sing again. It worked, too, for a little. It's a technique used by show hosts and masters of ceremonies quite a bit.

Susan was magnificent in every way! I still have goosebumps.
Posted by ArielAZ on June 16, 2009
Yes, Scrooge, I forgot her most powerful asset, besides her voice--she evokes love. I love her like I love Elvis and James Dean. She is family.
Posted by ML on June 16, 2009
@Patriciasart: You are so right regarding Charlie Rose interviewing Susan! That would be delightful. She could relax at his table and be herself for the hour and that could happen once the sales of her CD shoot up into the sky. I'd buy a copy of that interview since they do sell DVDs of his show.

You know, how on earth could Susan be anything but incredibly intelligent? She is capable of learning faster than anyone I've witnessed. Look at what she's accomplished in these three months? Look at how much she has improved her style just in these past few performances! She is more than a fast study. The woman is made of steel with a voice like velvet and anyone should hope to be as bright and clever as she is.
Posted by Brooklyn Blessings on June 16, 2009
@mdillow31…Thanks so much for your encouragement! We will be sure to let the people of Blackburn know about this fan club and America’s great love for Susan! (I think they’re already beginning to realize that…)
Posted by sassyone on June 16, 2009
BethInTheUSA you know I saw that too. She probably has someone helping her backstage where they say, you can control the audience and shows her some ways to get them to sit down and listen to her songs/story. this is so freaking amazing, isn't it. to watch her transform from a small little lassie to this global star. Surreal!
Posted by Lonnirose on June 16, 2009
Tommy, just watched Butterfly and it's amazing - describes our girl wonderfully well. But if you keep making me cry I'm going to be hospitalized for dehydration. I haven't cried this much for 40 years! Susan has the ability to break my heart and bring joy at the same time by just looking at her picture, much less hearing her sing too. Wonder what that's called? SUSAFEVER?
Posted by Scrooge on June 16, 2009
@ArielAZ: And she will be just as enduring, I have no doubt.
Posted by Brooklyn Blessings on June 16, 2009
@Fran M...I know your old neighborhood pretty well! It's near the fabulous Christmas-decoration streets, right? We will be staying in Blackburn for about a week, but haven't looked into attending one of the BGT shows. Maybe I'm mistaken, but I think there won't be any others in Scotland after tonight.

Gardenator, when I saw that picture of you know who, at another site, I had to run to BR and throw up. A terrible thing to stumble on before you have had your coffee altho don't think even a gallon would have helped.
Posted by MisTia on June 16, 2009
BethInTheUSA - Yes, she is definitely interacting with that crowd, much better than before, I completely agree. This is one of the reason why I thought it would be so important for her to do this tour - this kind of crowd interaction offers such a wealth of experience for her and is irreplaceable really, and she is definitely finding her way. The crowd really responded to her yesterday, so we got a much better overall impression and could hear her better.

And yes me too, especially for that video as the audio is great! You can hear her so well.

@Brooklyn Blesings, We went to 9 countires in Europe on a vacation several years ago but didn't get to go to the British Isles. In 1982 I started genealogy on my family lineage and found all of my Mother's lines came from the British Isles to Virginia and two to Maryland. On my Father's side we have a McIntosh line going back to Scotland. I would like to make a trip to the British Isles sometime in my life. Lucky you. LOL !

Here is a great link. I found in on the front page of CNN.com. It takes you to people mag. Seems like they are finally getting things straight about Susan. Also of interest in this article...95% of Susan's fan mail comes from the US of A! So if anyone is worried about things dying down here...don't be.

Back again, Hi. What's been happening whilst I was at my counsellor's appointment, bringing him up to date with Susan...honest....I've been scrolling, then catching trolls....this mfadz75 has just joined us today. I have politely messaged, and, tactifully, suggested if you've nothing nice to say, say nothing at all.. These folk are getting to me.....grrr!!!

Anyway, my counsellor and I got to discuss the fansite and all the lovely people here. I was physically glowing and he could see and hear the enthusiasm as I updated him on Susan...he know she'd placed 2nd but know nothing about the show. He'd read about her life etc . and is so happy genuinely that we are all brought together through Susan.

Looks like that little pub in Blackburn is going to have to build a large extension now....it's going to be flooded with Susanites.....of that I am sure....They'll not know what's hit them...
Posted by BethInTheUSA on June 16, 2009
sassyone: yes, I'm sure they have a coach to show her tachniques for "crowd control", even though she already had great stage technique even from the very first at the audition. 9,000 or 10,000 people make a different audience than a few hundred!
Posted by Lonnirose on June 16, 2009
I hear Susan singing in my head all the time.

The 100 Million Club as of June 12, 2009

Susan Boyle 3rd with 261,500,000 hits in two months amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Posted by Carnegie61 on June 16, 2009
Speaking of touring and exhaustion... Susan should "tour" the way Liza Minnelli tours. She RARELY does 2 shows in 2 nights....at the very least she takes a night off in between. Sometimes she takes weeks or even a month between shows. I know Susan is in greater demand than Liza, but that doesn't mean she can't take it at a slower pace. I will certainly wait on her!
Posted by mdillow31 on June 16, 2009
@Lonnirose, Susan is singing in my head too. Happens quite frequently and I know it will continue. LOL !
Posted by Brooklyn Blessings on June 16, 2009
@mdillow31...It's interesting and often complicated for multi-generational Americans to sort out our roots! You'll be heading for the British Isles soon, without a doubt!
Posted by Csk8stoo on June 16, 2009
@wenvas, I think today it is taped rather than live because of technical problem. The site is in the Nhokia Pan..you were so lucky to have lived in Africa. Search on Nhokia Pan and the live camera should be found. Back to gushing about fabulous Susan. I do think she is learning to take command of the stage. Her "thank you Glasgow" last night was great. My grandmother's family is from about 20 miles north of Glasgow.."Gaerloch Head".

The biggest shift is Susan Boyle's continued elevation in the chart. While she may not have taken home the big enchilada for Britain's Got Talent, clips related to her original performance have collected more than 40 million views since May 20. Her current 261+ million total is enough to propel her passed both Mariah Carey: Touch My Body and Beyonce: Single Ladies, and put her within striking distance of vampire film sensation Twilight

mdillow, isn't that the strangest thing! I can be doing something around the house - even driving somewhere - and there she is, singing true and clear just like she does on stage. Hey, I can save a fortune on CD"s!!!! Just kidding. I will pay anything for them, even go without food if I have to.
Posted by BethInTheUSA on June 16, 2009
I'm sure glad I'm not the only one who hears Susan in my head! My husband thinks I'm obsessed with her (yes, joyously!) but he doesn't hear her the way we do. A big part of it is that he has a "tin ear" and doesn't like singing in general, but I feel terribly sad that he doesn't "hear" her with his heart.
Posted by mdillow31 on June 16, 2009
@Brooklyn Blessings, it took many years to prove those ancestoral lineages to the British Isles. I could tell you more but there isn't enough space. I am just waiting for Susan coming to America right now. Maybe someday I will cross the pond again. I would love it.

@Reinder, been to Rotterdam back in 1979. Amsterdanm too. :)
