To all of Susan's fans:

What do you think of the idea of creating a "THANK YOU, SUSAN" account instead of sending flowers.

I know the flowers are a lovely, thoughtful idea but I think Susan could use something like a monetary fund for 2 reasons:

1. it shows Susan how much JOY we have gotten from watching her sing on YouTube ... even before she has done a CD!

2. it gives her some sense of her worth ... she has felt "worthless" most of her life ... here is a way of saying "Susan, you have worth! We love you! We are so grateful to what you have given to us thus far ... and we love forward to more!"

What do you all think? Please comment.

I have posted a similar comment at the Piers blog today under the name of Ellie from Boston.

Love to all of Susan's fans!

Oh good I can post a comment---the chat room site may be good for some folks but I really like this comment format better, the chat room allows folks to chat with each other directly, but not for longer thoughts to be noted and aired. Sorry Paul, isn't there something about can't each old dogs new tricks--bark, bark. Although I just realized that you have provided both---OH YOU ARE SMARTIE!!

Again, after Saturday nite, money will no longer be a problem in SuBo's life, peace and quite will be!!

Dear Paul ~ You are, indeed, doing a great job with this fan site, and we all are grateful. I respectfully request, however, that you reinstate our members who suddenly "disappeared" over the flower issue. Truly, they are not spammers and would gain nothing personally. A number of people wanted a simple way to contribute, and it seems to me that they were trying to make that possible. In reality, anyone can easily send flowers to anyone, anywhere. It need not be coordinated by a fan site. Thank you.

I would like to post a comment to Susan if she's reading...I so enjoy your performances and wish you all the best for Saturday night's performance. Please know that you have so many people rooting for you and keeping you in prayer. Just go out there and have fun and know how much people admire you! The Good Lord will do the rest. :)

Paul! Wow! Such a fast job! A chat-corner!

Thanks for everything.

Warmest wishes from Western Australia and good night to everyone !

What happened? Some members were 'removed' because of the roses issue?

I dunno about the monetary fund concept--might it seem to Susan a bit condescending?

Where in BGT security? The Lord Webber organization should take over immediately and prepare her for Saturday night. Susan Boyle is the best thing is come out of the Commonwealth in years? Where is the PM? Where is HRM the Queen?

did Susan actually quit? God my heart is breaking for her.

hey paul and everybody who is mantaining this site, a big thanks for all what you do here, very good jobs and so fast!! i love this site and most of all susan boyle of course

Posted by faithdoggie on May 28, 2009
susan is very human and sings like a nightengale. just let her be, and let her sing. that is all she wants to do. do not make her into someone that she is not. susan is just as she should be.
Posted by DannyMac on May 28, 2009
I don't think I can post any more about what is being done to Susan; I'm not sure if I can read any more of it. I am so upset; I don't think I can bear it if she quits or if they mess her up too bad for her to sing at her best in the finals. Her beautiful dream is being shredded by jackals and hyenas. Like blackheaded buzzards than don't even wait till you're dead to start eating. Maybe she is in better shape than we are hearing. I don't trust anything BGT or judges say. This didn't have to happen.

I also agree that Susan will not be wanting for money after Saturday night whether she wins or not...I like the idea of either a charm bracelet or a pendant on a necklace inscribed with the date of her win, etc....along with lots or roses. She would always have that and remember her new beginning. Thanks for the chat room and does this mean that we will get to watch the show live on Saturday in the US? Does anyone know the time the show comes on in Central Time Zone here? Thanks to you all...I am so addicted my husband thinks I'm sick but he also watches Susan's videos!

Oay All...several diffeent webstes are now Susan is brain damaged and running amok...saying vile words and 'flipping' them off!!! NOT TRUE...thre hotel has officially stated she was in her private room with family, not in the pub. She has and is upbeat about all of what is happening and those with their big verbage about Susan - "she has a problem as she was deprivried of oxygen when born" etc...are from those people who will vote against her-BIG OLD SMEAR CAMPAIGN. Lily who? A young Aussie wannabe from questionable talent parentage and background cannot sit in judgement on anyone!!! Let's go..get our votes out and have our voices heard!!!

Hello again,

I understand from a comment on the other blog that PayPal is the way to go to set up a secure donation fund.

Maybe there should be 2 ways to say Thanks & congrats to Susan. Those of us who would like to contribute money for Susan ... and those who want to send flowers.

We could do both, no?

I personally like the monetary "Thank You" because it's a direct payback from her fans for all the joy we've already gotten from listening to her on YouTube.

What do you all think? Can we do both flowers & the Thank you account?

Posted by YourAwesome on May 28, 2009
Money is not condesending.....send me some!! lol ????? I think she would appreciate the thoughts, money, offers...etc, but really is she going to need it??? SUSAN IS A WINNER!!!!!!!!!!!! And all the offers will be following shortly! Navyvet...how do they get away with saying all this stuff when it is not true?? Its all over the news...even FOX? THANKS again Paul for this great site and ALL your work!! Love you too! :) Debi

Navyvet, I sure hope the infomation about her being upbeat is reliable. If she can just be okay so she can do her final as we know she can, then let the creepycrawlies babble. Her condition is all that matters.

I am so glad this site came up with the idea to send a card with our comments to Susan. I am hoping she will find the time to look at some of them because right now she needs to know what a great many of the world's population thinks of her. She needs to know we are excited about her final performance and we are standing with her as she performs. I am pleased to be a part of such a positive group and I thank you for the wonderful comments you sent to Susan.
Posted by MsHurryCane on May 28, 2009
I would just like to place myself among Susan's fans. I would tell her not to let the press affect her. These people hound all the famous people. That goes with the territory, just look at Princess Diana, Gerard Butler, and other Brits. But try to relax and remember that it all about the song only. I want to see you win and have a wonderful career. You have what it takes.
Posted by Fran M. on May 28, 2009
I don't think sending her money is appropriate. She will be making tons of that, starting now. Anything but money. I read somewhere that she may have checked out of that hotel. I hope she went to a quieter one, away from all the hoopla, but what I read said, "may have checked out", so who can believe that? Fran

Let's not look forward to flowers, paypal, donations,etc...all- AFTER the finals! Can we figure out how we can make our voices and votes heard???? Then all will be open to making Susan hear our hearts!!

Susan's you tube performance has been circulating through the US like wild fire. I LOVE listening to her, praying that she wins and looking forward to being able to buy her recordings.

Just watched the fourth semi-final. Very talented tonight - Francis Callum did an adorable act with Balloon the Bear! Such a sweetie - much preferred him to Shaheen. And Julien, the saxophone player - my guess is they'll be the ones to go through.

Well, we shall find out after some time...

I'm so glad I'm not the only one whose husband thinks has gone 'daffy' with Susan. I can only pray that she reaches with her last ounce of courage to "reach that unreachable star" she so richly deserves!!! I think we love her so much because she represents all of us who have yet dreamed our dream!!!

The chat site is great! Thank you for that!

Also, Wild ol' Dan has suggested that we have a tube of Smarties attached to each rose. While the florists might object to having to attach Smarties to each rose, it might be good to start a Smarties fund and notify a local candy store to see if they'll deliver a large volume individual tubes of Smarties. Wouldn't it be great fun to see Susan swimming in piles of Smarties?
Posted by Lovin' Every Minute! on May 28, 2009
susan is still apparently favored to win - see excerpts from article, below:

"Susan Boyle is the odds-on favourite to win Britain's Got Talent this year and she carries a slim 4/6 price. Paddy Power also has Shaheen Jafargholi available at 6/1 with Aidan Davis at 7/1 and Flawless at a price of 9/1."

"Stavros Flatley at 10/1 and Diversity at 14/1 are pretty much the only entries (aside from the ones mentioned above) that genuinely could pull off a shocker."

I think Susan would get a big kick out of being buried in Smarties by her fans. Talk about reassurance!
Posted by fudgemeister on May 28, 2009

Posted by Lovin' Every Minute! on May 28, 2009
2007 - Paul Potts (Adult Singer) won; 2008, George Sampson, (kid / dancer)won; are the Brits ready to vote for a comedy act or adult dance group? Bear in mid that Susan already gor more votes than Diversity in direct competition, even with a shaky start to her song on Sunday. I just doubt they'd vote for a comedy/novelty act over Susan . . .

Go to this website and read what Piers Morgan says in Susan's defense. I read somewhere on his website that the incident, as reported in the tabloids, never happened. There were two reporters who started this whole thing. Susan's sister was with her and they reported the incident to the police who escorted the reporters out of the building. Copy and paste this into your browser and read what Piers said. http://www.officialpiersmorgan.com/2009/05/28/in-defence-of-susan-boyle/

Susan just has to STAY COOL & be gracious, no matter what happens. Best case (obviously!) - victory. Almost as good - not winning, but being gracious & charming avout it. Absolutely worst case scenario - DISASTROUS!!! - she loses, & freaks out on the spot. It CANNOT happen.

Or freaking out any time thereafter, will be horrible.
Posted by LucyB on May 28, 2009
I just copied and pasted Piers blog as noted above aby dellygal. This is FYI for all you SuBo fans:

Imagine, if you will, being anonymous for 47 years of your life, and then suddenly being propelled into genuine world superstardom.

For many people, it would be a dream come true. All that fame and attention, and the prospect of all that money to come with it down the line.

But let me tell you now, there is a downside to fame. People start criticising you, sniping at you, trying to trip you up, belittle you, harass you.

The pressure from sudden global success can be enormous.

Everywhere you go, people recognise you and want a piece of you - an autograph, a photo, a quick song, a chat to their mum on a mobile phone.

You can’t got out any more without being mobbed in the streets. You can’t nip down the supermarket for a pint of milk or go to the paper shop.

That pressure, too, can take its toll on close family and friends. They don’t know quite how to deal with it either. Suddenly they’re all caught up in this insane, relentless goldfish bowl.

All the fun of being propelled into international acclaim starts to disappear. And you start to feel jittery, self-conscious, paranoid, and fractious.

Then imagine, too, having all this go on when you are days away from the final of a competition that can make or break your career and your life.

A competition that everyone expects you to win, a fact that in itself piles on even more pressure.

This is exactly the situation that Susan Boyle now finds herself in.

And my heart absolutely bleeds for the poor woman.

I picked up the papers this morning, and saw a load of headlines ridiculing Susan for a supposed incident where is said to have heard me tell Shaheen Jafagholi he had given the ‘best singing performance of the semi-finals’ and gone mad - flicking V-signs and shouting ‘**** off’, before storming off to her hotel bedroom.

She was said to be angry because I, her ‘favourite judge’, had backed another contestant.

Susan denies this happened, and I wasn’t there, so I don’t know what really went on.

But I’ve seen the photos of her arguing with policemen after a furious altercation with a reporter who later asked her about it, and I’ve read the incredibly bitchy comments exploding all over various websites about her behaviour.

And you know what?

It made me very, very angry.

Susan Boyle is a very kind, generous-hearted, lady who has had a pretty tough life. She was deprived of oxygen during her birth, and that left her with ‘learning difficulties’, causing her to be called ‘Simple Susan’ at school.

She’s only been able to have one brief job in her life, but rather than feel sorry for herself she dedicated all her time to helping her ageing, ailing mother until she died two years ago.

She’s never married, and memorably declared she’d ‘never even been kissed.’

But she’s always, according to people who knew her well, been a fun-loving, popular woman who would do anything to help others, including devoting considerable unpaid time and effort to her local church and community as a volunteer.

I’m not saying she’s a Saint. But I am saying that before all this fuss, Susan was generally considered by everyone who met her to be a genuinely lovely person. Albeit, one with a lively, feisty character, and a wonderfully eccentric sense of humour.

That’s why I feel so upset to see all the distress she is currently suffering from all the media and public furore.

Susan is finding it very, very difficult to cope, and to stay calm.

She has been in tears many times during the last few days, and even, fleetingly, felt like quitting the show altogether at one point and fleeing all the attention.

She’s had to read stories and columns, and listen to radio and TV phone-ins, calling her arrogant, insincere, spoiled, fake, mad and so on.

Now, I have been called all that and worse in my career, but I spent 20 years in Fleet Street and know how to deal with it.

Susan Boyle has never experienced anything like this and is like a frightened rabbit in headlights.

I am calling today for everyone to just give her a break.

She is two days away from the biggest day of her life, and all she wants to do is sing well for everyone and hopefully try and win.

She’s not a mass murderer, a thieving banker, or an expense-fiddling politician.

Susan’s just a sweet, middle-aged lady from a Scottish village, who can’t really comprehend the sheer scale of what’s happened to her.

And far from decrying her, shouldn’t we all be celebrating the amazing journey she has gone on, and the fact that she has done more for the reputation of Britain in the last month than anyone for a very long time.

As I said after her performance on Sunday night, Susan has given new hope and inspiration to a world battered by recession with her voice, and her story.

200 million people have now watched her YouTube clip, more than any other clip in history, and she is a household name from Russia to China, Australia to Africa.

Becoming the biggest star on the planet so fast is a scary, unsettling, upsetting thing, as Susan has discovered.

Let the increasingly unpleasant bitching and carping stop, right now. Please. She doesn’t deserve it.

Piers is right!! Unfortunately, there are many mean and vile people out there. You see them in the youtube comments-belittling her and demeaning her. Disgusting comments about her looks! Let us all just hope and pray that Susan can withstand the onslaught; and that she realizes that there are far more people who love her and adore her than there are that do not like her!
Posted by NarnianGirl on May 28, 2009
Just watched the semi-final & 10 o'clock news via internet. Susan had threatened to quit the show because of all the pressures, and Piers came to defend her publicly. Shaheen also spoke nicely of her, calling her his friend and saying they often eat their breakfast together. SO I don't think there is any unhealthy rivalry there among the competitors - after all, they're all in it together and will go touring after the show. It's not in Susan's nature to be nasty or unkind. Let us pray that Susan gets all the peace and quiet she needs to concentrate... and all the love and support from those around her!

I don't think she'll need the money after the show if she gets a recording contract. I think cards and letters are the best way to express our thoughts.

Hello everyone.

Hope you all take the time to read this, especially all my mad fellow Susan lovers in the good ol' USA.

Susan has just been the 'final' story on the national News At Ten (its now 10.30pm GMT), here in the UK. As i am sure you all know by now, there has been a little bit of 'sniping' of our SuBo here in the UK, due to her alleged four letter word outburst, and Piers Morgan has been interviewed asking for everyone to stop criticising her as she is on the verge of quitting the show. Here is my own personal thoughts.

I believe, with her own admitted learning difficulties, that hers is a natural reaction (if it is in fact true), and that if she has reacted, it is not a reflection of the person inside. I still, truly, believe that she has a not a bad bone in her body, and am feeling so much for her just now. Because of the hype, she has been built up (and rightly so, as she has the most beautiful voice i have ever heard), and must be feeling all of this so, so much, right now. I am a SCOT, like our very own Susan, and feel immensely proud of what she has done, and am so worried that she may crack up with this pressure. I now want Saturday out of the way (win or lose) so she can move on and record her voice for us all to hear.

Can i finally say, as a Scottish gay man who absolutely loves the USA (been to New York, Florida, San francisco and Las Vegas - and who will happily accepy any offers of a holiday in the states lol), that i want to thank each and every single American who has shown there heartfelt sincerity for the power and joy that has come from hearing Susan Boyle sing, and to say, that, although there are many genuine people in the UK who, too, love Susan, we have too many people in our country who are so quick to build someone up, but then break them down, and all for probably making a few headlines, and selling a few newspapers.

Thank you for the USA, and it is good to know, that if Susan is rejected from this country, then all she has to do is moved to the US and she will know just how much she is loved and how much joy she has brought, in to so many peoples lives.

Please feel free to correspond with me.

All my love, Max

It might be worth reminding you that this is a very normal lady with a very extraordinary talent and not a lot of confidence - any sniping however lighthearted is going to hurt her. BGT have to look after her as she is the big draw for saturday night and certainly not bait for some scum bag journalists because if she walks we are all going to lose a very special human being. Piers Morgan has come out in her defence a bit late if you ask me but at least he has commented - the press need to leave her alone - she has done more for this country and the world in the last few weeks than anyone or anything else - what price that?
Posted by martyn on May 28, 2009
And may I echo Max's comments above!!
Posted by BJG on May 28, 2009
To those of you in London with Susan, just how is Susan going. I just turned off the News at 10 in London and Piers gave her a good request to let her be. Is she really close to quitting and going home? Do you know who is with her? -- but oh -- for this talent to go quiet -- I can't believe it. Someone close to her has to be sure this does not happen.

Oh, and what do we know about the flowers? When should we expect instructions?
Posted by rmc on May 28, 2009
Susan.... you are magnificent...as you are.... you do not need to change one iota.....

peoples comments are a reflection of themselves....they are just holding up a mirror to themselves...if they are kind or if bitchy ...none of it is real...none of them know you............. shut all these voices out and sing for your mother.......

1.You are a ray of light in a bleak time in the world... trully an angel

2. You are a star.... even if you left the show... record companies will hunt you down... they want to be part of your fortune because you have not only a lovely strong voice but you share a deep feeling which connects with people

3. so remember : you owe nothing to nobody....your fans simply wish you all the best, we don't give a hoot whether you are perfect in some trumped up way

4. you are going to win regardless of anything...even if you just stand up and cry..you will still win

Hello from Texas, Max & Martyn. Most people LOVE Susan and wish her the best. She could probably use a mountain of Smarties from her fans to swim in about now. I'm sure that'd cheer her up. Piers did indicate that BGT has security and PR reps around her to handle all that media hoopla now, so hopefully she'll settle in and make it for Saturday's Finals. I don't think Susan realized that with the global acclaim she's recv'd, there's a price that comes with it. I just hope she learns to deal with it by ignoring it.

Howdy Pards,

Boy that thar chat room is movin' faster than a speedin' bullet ain't it?

Yep, I did suggest that right now might be a good time for us to attach a tube of smarties to every rose we send her.

She says the only tube she knows is a tube of smarties and I think she would really enjoy the humor in that.

But, I sure hope our card gets to her soon...seems like she may need our love and support right now.

The British tabloid press has gone about as gone about as low as they can go, haven't they?

Well, now is when we need to keep sendin' positive vibes in every direction folks...let's help Lady Susan Boyle "reach that unreachable star!" There are millions of us out here...we should be able to send a positive message or two...and, folks, let's keep her in our prayers too.

Let us pray that she is given the strength to roll with the punches...to smile...to do her absolute best on Saturday.

Then, once again, all our friends and trail pards in Great Britain have to do their part to make Susan's dream come true. I BELIEVE SUSAN BOYLE WILL WIN! I believe that with all my heart and soul...because she has touched our hearts...the hearts of the entire world...and she has brought joy and happiness into our lives. Our debt to her has not been paid. Nope. Not by a long shot!

No amount of wind is gonna blow us off this victory trail pards...the trail leads straight ahead! At the end we will all be celebrating when Lady Susan's dreams do come true! We gotta job to do. Let's ride!

Adios for now. Talk to ya on down the trail.

I just watched BGT and then stayed tuned for the News at Ten program on iTV1. Okay, Piers was on there, talking about 'it'. Said pretty much what he already said in his blog entry. Apparently, yesterday was when Susan had packed her bags and was about to leave, stating 'what was the use of staying, with everyone sniping at her'. Piers has been asking the media, paparazzi, and people in general to please leave her alone.

Oh, and Shaheen was also on the news interview--he stated that Susan had breakfast with him and his family every morning, and had always been very nice to him, quite supportive, etc.

That entire sequence about making a hand gesture and saying 'f*** off' at the TV was manufactured. I dunno WHO sent someone after her later to insult her and intentionally try to upset her, but apparently she did tell that person off; it was a very minor little thing.

The whole point is, no one amongst the finalists is receiving any of this negative backlash cr*p except for Susan. She is in the headlines every single day, and on the news constantly over in the UK. Of course she's going to hear about some of it. WHY would the media really be doing this to her? It does NOT make for 'good press' and only makes those instigators of this obvious smear campaign look like fools.

Unfortunately, it does seem to be taking a toll on Susan herself. Guess it remains to be seen whether or not she'll actually perform in the Finals, depending upon her state of mind come performance time Saturday. If folks will just leave her alone, not hassle her with stupid comments etc, I can't think why she won't be there and sing wonderfully!

I'll go ahead and post this, then take a look at the video of Piers that PKoch just posted...it may be the same thing I just saw on the news program. Or, not...
Posted by rmc on May 28, 2009
PS... I can't wait to find out what song Susan chooses for the final.

However, please, please someone tell her it is OK... she can walk... no-one has been such a hit on U-Tube ever by several factors...and even if only a tiny portion of those go on to buy a CD...she will be platinum overnight ....

Her work is already done...she doesn't have to win the show to pick up a recording contract......it is not a big deal for her to go home..... so please please let her relax

I Believe too with all my heart and soul that Susan is going to WIN!!! :)

Max...I took the time to read all your commments and they were great. Speaking from Kansas City I love Susan but cannot vote for her and it worries me that some people in Britain might want to tear her down...do you think there might be a backlash since the press has been so mean and she will get sympathy from some? Is the winner soley picked by people's votes or do the judges have something to do with picking the winner? I never heard of BGT before Susan and even the judges are famous here now!

Scottishfan1971: Have read your blog and you are right n..Enos Cosby (son of Vill Cosby) was studying for his docteriate when he was murdered...he too was someone 'without oxygen' at birth; Cher and many other celiberties have had problems in their lves..but they are not in anyway dimnnished in their capibilities. These people who have attacked Susan on this website and other sites have been very outspoken not only in the blogs but in the press too. STOP..leave her alone - let her sing! All of youall knowing people (opposition rooters perhaps?) should be ashamed of your selves...we have not attacked those you support - now we ask you to back off...let it be....

I tried the chat and really liked it, but it is in a tiny window and comments flick by so quickly. I don't have time to remember who said something and respond, before 6 comments have gone by. Whew! Exhausting! But my hubby says it's a learned skill. Hmm. We'll see. However, I enjoyed it very much, and thank you, Paul, for setting it up for us. I know we're going to have a lot of fun with it.

I went to the CBS Early Show website and sent a message to them that for Katy to give any credence to negative hype about Susan Boyle from a TABLOID was disgusting and that they obviously have their collective heads up a tunnel for which there is no light at the end. Susan has repeatedly shown that she has a sensible head on her shoulders and has always been gracious to people.

this is just my humble opinion, but I think it was a huge mistake putting Susan in a very public hotel with other contestants staying there. there was going to be publicity regardless, but with Susan's amazing success story, it was a media circus. being that Susan was from a small village, a private accommodation would have been far more appropriate than the circus atmosphere she was exposed to.

Hey Jayhawk!. Hey Navyvet!, in fact Hey bl**dy everyone!!!. Let's hope Susan gets the chancce to see all these wonderful things her fans are saying about her. As a gay man, i wouldn't normally say this..... but..... "i could kiss that woman right now" lol

Am glad to learn the whole 'roses' thing is being postponed until after the Finals. I've been told Susan has left the hotel with her entourage and is staying 'elsewhere' and hope this is true, also hope that no media person knows where, so she won't continue to be bombarded with the ridiculous backlash.

To Scottishfan 1971 ( Max), I, as a USA gay man WOULD kiss Susan right now and maybe let it last a minute or two. She is my one shining moment and inspiration. What a wonderful voice and what a truly wonderful person she is. Every morning before I go off to work, I watch I Dreamed A Dream. It brings such calm and peace to me and makes everything good. I will tell you right now, I would also be using those four letter words at anyone who invaded MY space. I say, GO SUSAN. Looking forward to watching her live on Saturday on iTV1. Max, if your ever in Florida again you would be more than welcome in our home in Sarasota. God bless Susan!!! Kick it out of the box Saturday. From Sarasota, Patrick

FYI!!!!!---i JUST FOUND THIS ON THE BGT WEBSITE-7:00PM, 28 MAY

Susan Boyle has tonight denied she will leave Britain's Got Talent.

The Scottish singer will remain in the show, continue with rehearsals, and perform on Saturday's big Grand Final, a show spokesperson said tonight.

Newspaper reports of an emotional outburst from Susan, as well as supposed threats to leave, "have been taken out of context, and are not serious or true".

The spokesperson said, "Susan Boyle is still very much part of the Britain's Got Talent. She is looking forward to the Grand Final and she is rehearsing hard to prepare for the biggest night of her life".

"She, like all of our contestants, is being closely looked after by programme makers. Susan's personal welfare is very important to us, and we will continue to do everything we can to make sure she remains happy and well".

After causing an unprecendented global sensation, Susan Boyle has swapped a quiet village life for the centre of a media frenzy, with the whole world looking on.

But the Bathgate lady, dubbed 'the most famous woman in the world', is dealing with the transition well. She has confirmed, "I want nothing more than to stay and sing in the Britain's Got Talent final".

"I've spent weeks rehearsing - it's all I've been thinking about. I'm not going to throw away my big chance now".

The Sun will try to destroy you, if you let them. Threy cannot print what is good in our society that does not sell newspapers so be careful keep your head down, sing like an angel on Saturday and I am sure the whole of Scotland will be voting for you. As a priest I will say a Mass for you. God bless

Thank you LucyB! I'm glad to hear that. Susan has always shown herself to have a sensible head on her shoulders and to be gracious. If there was an incident, I'm sure she handled it fairly and that it was a minor one. I think they've moved her to another location for more privacy and less publicity hounding for now. Looking forward to seeing her win the finals of BGT on Saturday (USA time).

Kiltkapper, that's a good idea. I think, going even one step further, they should probably have an legal injunction against them for deliberately setting out to libel a person so as to destroy them. Look what the tabloids did to Di.

Just read an article on MSNBC that the tabloids heard our Ms. Boyle using the F word. Stress is understandable, I use it when I stress. Just hoping that she doesn't let this fame go to her head & can't take the criticism. Much as I enjoy her singing, there will always be someone better comes along. Better keep your feet firmly on the ground, Ms. Boyle. I guarantee you'll have fans for life. Best of luck at the finale.

Susan's voice is a blessing and a God-given gift. She does not need to look to the BGT show for her sense of being worthwhile. Before BGT, she demonstrated how worthwhile she is by caring for her mum. The loss of her mum would understandably have left a large gap in her life and perhaps a sense of lost purpose.

My prayer is that Susan will discover that her purpose is fulfilled in being the multifaceted woman that she was created to be. I appreciate her willingness to share her talent in the BGT competition. That brave decision enabled people across the globe to glimpse a view of the soul and spirit that have been fashioned over years of living in obscurity while being faithful to family and to those in need.

Many treasures are concealed during formation - an oyster's pearl, the crystal center of a geode, a vein of gold running deep within the earth, the butterfly encased in its cocoon. Susan's BGT Audition opened the shell, revealed the crystalline contents, exposed a vein of golden notes, split apart the cocoon of seclusion, and allowed us to see what had been in the making long before.

No, Susan, does not need to win the BGT competition to become worthwhile. If she sings, she just permits the curtain to be pulled back further and gives us the honor of admiring the treasure once more. Either way, we know that this treasure is of great value.

Thank God, Susan is singing. It's 10.30am Sydney, Oz time and I've just awoken from little sleep. I was too shaken and upset after finding out about all the trashing on her. I searched and searched and found nothing, until only about 2am when I found Piers Morgan's link here. I immediately went to Piers blog and wrote my heart. Mine probably is in no.#184 or #185 amongst other commenters. This Fansite thing or being a fan is something new to me as I've never joined any fans group in my life, except Mozart forums. I only knew BGT or visited YouTube a lot after I found out about Susan Boyle, specifically, after she touched my heart with "I Dreamed a Dream" a song with the musical closest my heart with personal reasons. Obviously, her effect on me, like millions out there ooverwhelms. Everytime, I listen to Susan sing, I melt yet so much hope is restored anew each time, all the time. I registered as 'TelsCafe' here since someone has already registered as 'Tel.' Praying that Susan will gloriously. This sweet lady's voice is a gift, and to touch millions of us, a blessing. G'day everyone. Tel from Sydney.

I am so relief that Americans have taken Susan under their winds. In England the tabloid press and ignorant people behave like cretins and/or hooligans when they don’t like someone. Fortunately for Susan, Scottish people had proven to be very supportive with their artists in many of this type of contests in the past. I believe everything is going to be alright and we should get ready to enjoy the finals.

My son had learning disabilities the same identical problem as Susan (not enough oxygen at birth), it is not something that stays with you your entire life. What happens their neverous system develops slower than a normal child so they might not be able to focus. There are many various problems they might have, usually they are attention deficit. Eventually, they out grow it. But as a child they need a lot or tutoring or one on one attention to keep from falling behind. But, as an adult if they were given the right help as a child, they can do very well. My son has now graduated from college, and is working on his Master's. Susan is very smart and intelligent, as well. Whoever is making these statements that her outburst is from learning disabilities, or her first two bleeping notes on Memories was from her disabilities. Learning disabled children are often more intelligent and they are not generally learning disabled for life. I am sure Susan's family worked with her. She herself thru her music accomplished many learning tasks to get herself thru to where she is today. She could NOT go out on stage and concentrate and keep on going if she were learning disabled. Susan has great concentration. My son has great concentration now...he did much better in college than I did. It is wonderful if a learning disabled child can involve themselves with something like music, or in my son's case figure skating because they are learning something they like to learn. Both music and skating require a high level of concentration. The trick is not to let them fall behind with their school work at the same time. But, the peer pressure in childhood is daunting. Susan's past that stage of her life now but its almost a repeat in history with the tabloids after her with false lies (instead of mean children). It is just too bad that she was walking around when those reporters were around...they just took a good opportunity to egg her on in American words. I see now why my Olympic Skating coach locked us in our rooms for an entire week before competitions. We were not allowed to mingle with the public or even other fellow skaters. She scuttled us over to the rink to practice and she hurried us back to our rooms. I never understood til know why she was such a bitch (she was avoiding problems).

There was a comment on the blog this morning they were worried about an Alan Lambert repeat on American Idol. I do believe after talking to my friend, that A,T &T who held the open lines for Idol sided against Lambert. They had gone around to many of the High Schools and showed them how to do 10 texts all the same at once. In American Idol you can also text a vote it. My friend & I both tried to vote for him but we could not get an open line even once to get one vote in and we repeatly tried for over 2 hours. Simon had predicted Alan to win, and I believe, he could have made more money with Lambert on his contracts. I also believe the conspiracy against Alan was because he was gay, right now there is a movement here against gays in America. Verizon is holding these phone lines open for BGT and I do not believe that will happen in Britian. I do not believe BGT set Susan up ... they have more to gain if they let her go in the competition without harrassment. I believe this whole incident with Lily triggered everything off. I am not sure why or what her motive was other than to show support for 12 year old Shaeen. All, Susan has to do is go out and sing her song one more time, and if she takes an easier piece than Memories she should be just fine. We need to have FAITH.

We can make our love stronger than the UK reporters' hate. We can make our support for and appreciation of Susan much louder than the UK tabloids' ridicule. We can move our way into her heart while THEY try to kill it. She wants to sing for her fans. She has said so many times how important it is to her to make people happy. Let's be sure we always let her know how important she is to us. And we can be better people than THEY are because we know that to love and support Susan DOES NOT mean we hate and rip apart everyone else. We are better than that! And that is the very reason we are so attracted to Susan.... because she so deserves it.
Posted by DannyMac on May 29, 2009
Our love is stronger than their hate, but we aren't there to show her ours love while their nastiness is in her face. Hopefully, she is receiving messages of support from people in Britain. I wish some of the stars, like Lulu could talk with her and reassure her that the scum do this to anyone who is accomplished and celebrated. Paul, will we be notified when our card is delivered to her. I really wish they would give it to her today. Had we known all this was going to break out, we could have had that done.

she should quit this show whilst at the top, I don`t think it matters if she wins it or not.
Posted by tweek on May 29, 2009
In looking over this past week, the press has taken every opportunity to twist everything around and whatever they did is not working. And, as far as Susan is concerned I do not think she was ever ready to pack her bags. She is in it to Win...she is no quitter. Susan has FAITH in herself and we have to hold our FAITH, as well. Part of being in competition is being able to be strong enough to take defeat and be proud enough not to walk away. Not everyone can be a winner 100% of the time. But, Susan has proven remarkable concentration and she just keeps right on going and smiles along the way. She's brilliant! After reading last nite, her new performance of Memories has pulled 16.7 million views on You Tube and those views have been equally proportioned thruout the World, and Great Britian has pulled their share. It's not just the US putting her over the top. I thought that the Public confidence may have been shaken, but I do not believe the people of Great Britian fell for all this malerky. Remember she won the public vote on the first semi-final. Sure the votes might get split up more on the Final but believe in the people. Susan is a true competitor and she is strong, she does not falter easily. She wants to do her best performance ever, and as long as she accomplishes that is what matters to her...not to win or lose. She wants to do her very best, and I do not believe her confidence has been shaken. And, remember when she sings her song, every note is for each and every one of us. She brings us Hope! She brings us Happiness! Be proud of Susan, she has come on a long journey to get to where she is now....have FAITH & Believe!

We have to remember that virgins are also allowed to swear. So are people with learning difficulties. Why is Susan supposed to be a perfect angel without human limitations if she wants to stay a virgin? Why does she have to be divine in order to escape being like everybody else? God, this is sinister! Are we heading for a society where to be chaste and human is a crime? Slowly but surely, to be brain damaged has been promoted as a "crime" making people with short fuses be tasered and called names as has been done to Susan. Why aren't the reporters who provoked her being publicized as crazy? No, the way it is now is that if you do anything that suggests non-compliance with media standards of beauty and image, you are crucified at the first opportunity. Gee, Jesus had better not come back! He would be put in jail right away as anti-social.

The Chat Room needs to be "cleaned-up" to do away with guest entries, mindless "flaming" is going on in it already.

A Constructive Request:

I feel safer "in good company" if a susan-boyle.com Registered Members Only open discussion blog was set up so I can read each entry without having to concentrate on reading them on a tiny rolling screen.

There are TOO many SuBo haters out there on the Internet, THIS is the ONE website I feel "safe" writing legitimate critical discussions about her!

Retired in Kalifornia, I think you are correct. I just left the chat room after about 45 min. on it, and as much as I enjoy the back and forth conversation between sincere chatters, the...uh...what do you call them...troll-types are really upsetting. Is it possible to have a Members Only chat site? I don't intend to be exclusive, but sometimes you just need some boundaries. I'm sure there are many non-members who are as supportive of Susan as we are, and it would be a shame to exclude them, but no one wants to chat when the conversation is interspersed with expletives and hateful comments against Susan.

SUGGESTION: How about Susan refuses to be associated with BGT because they used her and didn't provide for her special needs. How about she refuses to go any further with this type of provocation, exploitation and propaganda that virgins and the brain damaged are insane and worthless. She should refuse to go on tomorrow and be done with this tacky association. Any contract should by now be null and void. No one should be hurt, defamed or made sick through a contract. In response, this site should continue as her fan club taking off all references to BGT as soon as possible. This fan site should not encourage Susan to sing tomorrow. She needs to rest. We should all protest her treatment and start lining up to buy her CD which she should go on to produce independently of Simon Cowell, Piers Whatever and the others. Let's do this now before tomorrow. Her singing gift lies in her virginity and clarity of mind. These are now being demonized because they go against the materialistic tide. Susan must be protected from becoming a tool in the war against virginity and spirituality.
Posted by Catherine9 on May 29, 2009
"Fortune and love favor the brave". Susan is the embodiment of bravery by not allowing any 'sneerable' qualities to stop her pursuit of being a professional singer. Of course the bitter, jealous perverts, (who are always talent-less) arrive in droves to torment and insult. The green-eyed assassins take aim at EVERYONE great in this life - that should prove to dear Susan that her fans, and the insufferable, recognize what a amazing prize she really is. I hope that Susan will continue to hold her ground while remaining charming and poised to the end. Good Luck to her in the competition, I look forward to her winning - and I know The Queen will enjoy the performance of her Scottish songbird, Susan Boyle.

SUSAN BOYLE FANS:

So, where are we on creating a PayPal account for Susan with the money going to the charity or charities of Susan choice?

I think people, especially those of us in the USA who cannot vote for Susan, could contribute as little as $1.00 or whatever the cost of a phone call would be to vote for Susan. And, of course the donations could be as high as people would like.

It would be a way of saying to the world that we wish we could vote for Susan this Saturday nite & here is our support -- dollars (and/ or Euros) to her favorite charity.

Please let's focus & reach a decision on this so we can have an account set up before Saturday nite.

I welcome comments.

I still don't have any luck getting into Itv far enough to see any program live. Paul, is there going to be any other way to watch the finals live?
Posted by Allikat on May 29, 2009
Agreed--the chat room is being ruined by trolls. So we just won't use it. If no one goes there except 'guests', then it becomes pointless for those making negative comments and they do go away. As far as I understand things, one cannot make a chat room on a site like this be made available for 'members only'. What a pity.

The only other thing we can do is, agree for as many of us as possible to MEET there at a specified time, see if we can block 'guests' from having room to get in simply by virtue of there being so many 'members' lined up to participate in it.

I thought maybe I'd go have a look-see there tomorrow, immediately after the first show is over, and then again later right after the second one, or maybe even right after the winner is announced, which could be a few minutes before that.

For DannyMac: I can't get any of the sites to work for me except this one, and it's really easy.

http://myp2p.eu/

Click on Live TV, then, Entertainment, and finally, iTV1 (in the grey box). If you have the latest version of WMP or RealPlayer it should start right up and work fine.

The only thing I'd recommend about this site is, don't use it unless you have some very good antivirus software up and running. 'Something' gets captured every time I go into it--I use Panda, myself.

If it weren't for this p2p site, I'd never have been able to watch any of the BGT programs 'live'.
Posted by DannyMac on May 29, 2009
Thanks, Allikat. I let Linda handle all the technical part of the tv. Will have to check with her on WMP or RealPlayer. Virus business doesn't sound good. We use an Imac. There don't seem to be a lot of viruses for that as opposed to a pc. When we had a pc a virus messed us up so completely it couldn't be fixed. Had to ditch it. I wish we could have that link that was set up bu Dragon whoever thru Justin.tv. I feel strongly the need to be there holding hands so to speak with all of you here, sending waves of love to Susan.

I tried to use the same myp2p and had it going I thought. I asked Paul to post it up above the "official" notices, but those seem to get lost. If you do have it, or know, would you email it to me? I will be so upset if I miss it! My email is: bjb@patriot.net I will also try to find the ITV schedule -- truth resides there. I hope we all can be kept up with what Susan does on her tours, etc. Maybe one day we can through a big party at Susans house and just have a blast!

And Oh... do you think they should be allowed to admit Holly to the final group when she melted and collapsed. It makes a difference for Susan. Best! BJ

Surely people won't turn against her because of the press the last two days. She has such a beautiful voice and seems like such a nice lady. We can all be pushed hard enought to react in ways that we may later regret. Go Susan, sing your heart out. We love you.

WOW I've read some of the comments here, I think that maybe the chatroom should be open to actual members of the fanclub, not to sound exclusive or anything, but if someone comes on as a guest and starts posting rubbish, I don't think that's something we should have to read. Or as it is at Justin TV, where guests can read the chat, but cannot actively participate unless they register and sign in. That would get rid of most of the riff raff, I think.
Posted by pottedferne on May 29, 2009
@Fire Djinn did you get into the chatroom? We ran the riff raff out. It seems we have to plan our visit like after the final tomorrow.
Posted by pottedferne on May 29, 2009
Did the chatroom shutdown? I can't get back in either.
Posted by vk on May 29, 2009
Hi guys what happened to the chatroom?
Posted by DocRobbie on May 29, 2009
BJG, I didn't quite know what you were talking about, but currently the video stream for both ITV 1 and ITV 2 display the message "This programme is not currently available to watch on itv.com". So it looks like at least for now, ITV has shut down live streaming from it's end. Let's hope we can find a way to watch Susan's performance live tomorrow!
Posted by pottedferne on May 29, 2009
uh ooh did the trolls sabatoge us or did Paul do something?
Posted by Fire Djinn on May 29, 2009
I hope it was just Paul disabling the link, I had a great time in there the other evening chatting with some of you folks, it would be a shame that it was shut down by some unscrupulous person.
Posted by SimplySuz on May 29, 2009
Does anyone know if any sites will stream the show online Saturday so those of us in the U.S. can watch?
Posted by Fire Djinn on May 29, 2009
I do have another suggestion, maybe Paul could appoint some of the more prominent members of the fan site, those who are here frequent enough, or that are willing to spend some time here to act as moderators in the chatroom, and kindly show those who are coming into the chat to sabotage the site the door.
Posted by DocRobbie on May 29, 2009
Yes, some moderators for the chat room would be great!
Posted by pottedferne on May 29, 2009
seresly ppl dechat is kaput!!
Posted by Fire Djinn on May 29, 2009
I've been experiencing other strange things too in some of my posts being chopped, think we've been hacked?
Posted by BRobert on May 29, 2009
The best way to enjoy a chat room and to be able to moderate it to keep the jerks out is to schedule the chats with assigned moderators. Sorry to see it is not active at this point. Plans?

Hey, I enjoyed talking with alot of you yesterday in the chatroom! Can't get in tonight. What's up with that?

Dear "Been Touch - Ellie from Boston" I do agree about sending money. It will take a long time for her to get a good amount, even if she signs up soon. She must need money now. I have been saying this for a few weeks now. We need to start a fund, so we can send a few dollars. Any ideas? (Seagray from Boston)

Hi Graysea,

I am so glad someone else thinks it's a good idea to send money. I'm sorry Graysea that you and I didn't connect sooner ...

I think money would mean more to Susan than Roses (sorry people). I just don't think Susan will have the time and space to appreciate a lot of Roses ... with money, she knows people are behind her for the long haul. And, for someone who has felt "worthless" ... I think it would mean a lot.

Does anyone else besides Graysea and myself want to get behind this idea quickly?

I thought it made great sense for all her fans outside of Britain ie., people in the US et al, could send a few dollars (or more if they can) as if they were phoning in a vote.

Please Keep in touch, Graysea, & like minded folks.

If you all want to send Susan money, I wish someone who is helping Susan work out her accounting etc. would set up a process for sending the money -- a special account or something. If Susan wins she won't need the money as she will be able to draw upon her winnings. If not, ... well that would be different and the money would probably help. Somehow, I think she will be OK as I believe she is going to win. I imagine the Scots have taxes to pay and that may play a role. Paul will probably know who might know.

Susan needs rest more than anything. Oh, and respect. She has been through an emotional tasering because she is a virgin and seen as insane because she isn't "getting any." She is a singer and can make her own money. We have to watch out we don't fall into the same stereotyping that the media is getting so much steam out of. Don't feel sorry for Susan because she is a spinster. She is like that because she is intelligent. She swore at people because she saw the injustice. She sings beautifully for the same reason. Courage. Money is tacky. If you want to honor her, be like her. Let her teach you something and let her know how she helped YOU. Would you send Jesus money??

SUSAN, love from Brasil!

Susan, darling, you got to second place. You withstood pressure that you never in your life expected to face. Kids are selfish and cruel and here in America and I guess in Britain, too, it's all about rap music and dance stuff. Yes, Diversity is talented, but it was your whole life story that captivated so many of us. You have changed so many lives for the better, you can rest assured, your time has come. God Bless You, and thank you for remaining true to yourself. (((( KISSES AND HUGS ))))

Susan you're an inspiration to all your fans. Don't stop singing, I love your voice.I hope I can download your performance in itunes. God Bless you.:)

Congratulations Susan, You may not have won that competition, but you won the hearts and admiration of millions. Please stay with us and release a cd soon. My money will go your way! And about criticism and pressure : that's the price to pay for stardom! Ignore them, stay who you are and enjoy your immense success. We in Belgium love you!

Susan is the real winner.....she is one person....Diverisity is 10 ? Thats not a competition
Posted by Evoldoogrd on May 31, 2009
SUSAN BOYLE IS A WINNER! Regardless of the outcome, and I must confess, that dance group Diversity is awesome. They will do well in front of the queen. Susan will have her day in front of the queen, and millions more. She has shown the world her beautiful and inspirational voice, and yes, that gleam in her eyes. I look forward to the release of her CD, and I would go on to say that very soon we will see a movie out of this. God bless you Susan. The world awaits you!

And, I agree with several that SuBo will not be in need of money for sure. I am sure Simon has already locked her into a contract and both will end up rich. Susan deserves it....she is a good person and I know regardless of tabloids...she may as well get used to it because she is going to be rich, rich, rich...and I will buy her CDs because I love her voice. It is angelic. God bless Susan Boyle and all her supporters.

Simon I am sure is clever enough to guide Susan through the next few months. She needs a bit of time to think what she wants to do and probably think about training her voice now so she'll be able to cope with it all. Strangely I think coming 2nd on the night will benefit her, it will just release a bit of pressure on her. As long as she keeps away from Max Clifford she'll be fine. Well done to her though, unbelievable talent and just what the country and the world needed. An unlikely hero with the voice of an angel. The underdog wins out and gets the glory. No doubt with the right guidance this lady will be a household superstar for many years to come. Bet Pebbles is getting Caviar GoCat this morning!

in case you weren't watching, Fox and Friends Sunday just announced the results of a poll taken today as to who we in the USA believe should have won BGT. Just as we knew, Susan Boyle received 84% to 16% for Diversity. There is no doubt. She is adorable with an amazing voice. I do think there was more going on behind the scenes that was responsible for her 2nd place finish. I think she is better off and I believe she will sing for the Queen. I can't wait for her CD's but I also want to be able to see her when she sings. Her expressions and gestures are so meaningful. She has snagged my heart. I still can't get enough.

Hello from the US East Coast. I hope and pray that Susan is given the respect she so richly deserves in the future by the media, people in the music business and her fans. I not only love her voice, incredible, but her unassuming nature. Given all the negativity the past weeks, I hope people realize how sweet a person she is. I've watched her first BGT video so many times, and what strikes me the most is her natural deliver and her sense of fun. Susan, please stay as sweet as you are and don't let anyone try to dim your spirit. leighmy
