Susan Boyle is amazing. This just teaches us all on earth to never judge a person at all. God gives us all gifts. She is a great singer. I wish American Idol did not have certain ages only. Think about how many people on earth can sing and nobody ever gets to hear them. So glad we are now getting to hear and enjoy Susan and her top notch voice. Carol

I have added the YOUTUBE link to my Facebook and told everyone to watch it. It is extremely rare that a singer can move me to tears! Susan did. I watched it and watched it and watched it! I would love front row seats if she ever comes to Hamilton Ontario Canada. By the way, I loved her before she sang. Susan is quick witted and I enjoyed that part of her too! I have listened to your performance five times in the last thirty minutes...I am not a fan letter writer, but you have knocked all of us out of complacency from what we thought we knew. Boyle told the Mirror what inspired her to audition:

"I was born with a disability and that made me a target for bullies. I was called names because of my fuzzy hair and because I struggled in class. I told the teachers, but because it was more verbal than physical I could never prove anything. But words often hurt more than cuts and bruises and the scars are still there. I still see the kids I went to school with because we all live in the same area. They're all grown up with children of their own. But look at me now - I've got the last laugh...Mum loved the show and used to tell me I should put my name down and that I'd win it if I did. But I never thought I was good enough. It was only after she died that I plucked up the courage to enter. It was a very dark time and I suffered depression and anxiety. But out of the darkness came light. I realized I wanted to make her proud of me and the only way to do that was to take the risk and enter the show."

I had seen the video clip on a whim because I loathe reality TV shows that subject individuals to public cynicism which is usually accompanied by condemnation but this particular clip caught my attention through sheer viral force.

What concerned me was that the audience (including the judges) were ready to crucify Ms. Boyle based on her looks, her "head in the clouds" naivty and her obvious simplicity and probably expected her to fail.

She defied expectations by performing brilliantly, inadvertently and unintentionally scoring a victory for the millions of less than stellar looking but highly talented people that dream of working in the entertainment industry but are cast aside in favor of what entertainment executives believe to be true.

Im pretty we can all agree that society loves an underdog with a heart of gold and I believe Susan Boyle is the genuine real deal.

I am a hard-nosed cynical elderly UK male. I once was a star soloist in the Church Choir and with perfect pitch. All lost (not the perfect pitch though) when my voice broke but I retained my love of good music of whatever genre from Mahler to Abba and everything in between. I have only rarely cried in my life but YOUR performance Susan DID make me cry and I keep watching it - and crying again.

The ONLY pity is that YOUR talent has been hidden for so long. You wanted to emulate Elaine Paige. I am sure that Elaine would acknowledge that you are at least as good as she and very probably better.Elaine was coached I think. YOURS is a totally natural talent. A BRILLIANT one. I would have great difficulty naming a female (even male) songster in the last 50+ years who had the pure quality and pitch of YOUR voice. I noted the lovely Amanda listening to see if you hit the pitch in the "crescendo" You did beautifully and she WAS so pleased. You WILL match Elaine I am totally sure. I am also sure that you SHOULD win since no-one is likely to come near matching you. Even if you do not (the public ARE fickle) I KNOW you will still become an internationally recognised star. Not bad for a totally unpretentious spinster from a West Lothian village. Lang may yer lum reek! As I am sure it will. Good on yer Susan.

I have never seen anything on any of these talent shows that interested me or moved like this lady. I have not been able to stop watching it when I get a free moment and I tell everybody about it, and they are equally blown away. Unfortunately here in the States, everyone in the arts and entertainment industries is obsessed with youth, so our Susan Boyle's will never have a chance. It's shameful. I'd rather pay to hear Susan Boyle than to watch Britney or Madonna shake their useless asses on a stage. Bravo, Susan Boyle! You have a LOT of fed-up Yanks rooting for you! Here is one of the rare gems that come out of nowhere sometimes and brings the world together thinking the same thing. This lady shows what inner beauty is all about. I hope she wins the show, but in any case she has set the world on fire and we will hear from this gem again. What a voice. It raised up the hairs on my whole body and brought tears to my eyes. I never watch TV much less shows like American Idol or Britain's Got Talent. I saw "Don't judge a book by it's cover" and clicked. I was moved to tears of ecstasy. Tonight in the US, ABC TV's nightly news featured Susan Boyle. I've now watched the YouTube video three times and forwarded it to my friends. Her voice brought tears - it was simply marvelous. Just a follow up from my post yesterday; I am here in central Florida in the US. I was eating lunch with a friend and we were talking about Susan Boyle's performance when the lady at the next table stopped to tell us she had heard the singing too...seems most of the restaurant had!! All of us total strangers nodding and agreeing it was such a beautiful experience; keep singing, Susan, we are all waiting for the CD to come out! I have to say I was as stunned as everyone else was when Susan came on stage to sing. Her performance brought my wife and I to tears. I think what she has done was to restore hope, to us and especially for those who may be facing hard times. Here is a honest good hearted person, who at first ridiculed, ultimately triumphs over her detractors and shows that there are still beautiful things left in the world.

To have something so beautiful and so powerful inside of you all these years, and finally have a chance to share it so powerfully with so many around the globe - it was such a moving experience..you're left wondering how in the world someone with such a gift would not have been previously discovered. To boot, what a fantastic personality behind the talent. I have to believe this will be a life-changing experience for a wonderful and immensely talented person, and an inspirational story, in the time to come. Can't wait until she polishes her first CD, count me in to buy it sight unseen. Somehow I think many a man in the area of her hometown, will be wondering how they missed such a glowing light - can't be long before that no-kiss streak is a distant memory. I sent this to my daughters in college, both were as stunned and moved as I was. Instead of studying for the exam, here I am typing after repeatedly listening while shedding tears. Why? I read that everyone else across the races and ages have cried as well. Why? What is it that's making us cry shedding streams of tears listening to her voice and watching her sing? As many have said, it must be the purity, humble simplicity, utter spontaneity that accompanied the most clear and angelic voice. Just the melody alone would not have made this man, as well as so many other men, shed tears.

I rarely listen to musics as most are rather noise to my ears. I prefer listening to sounds of flute or natural instruments. Her voice is nothing but natural purity of sound. This also is what's stirring the souls of so many.

I would hope that she continue to be herself without a change that often befalls those who gain fame. Even then her voice would move so many. But with her human qualities that reverberated in her voice unadulterated many will be transformed.

What an amazing performance. I have seen Les Miserables live in London and have to say even though this song was sung by a professional in the show and was excellent, it was nowhere near as beautiful as Susan's performance. I enjoyed 3 things on the video. 1. Her singing 2. The audience 3. The look on the face of the good looking, ego centered p---- of a judge. At times she seemed to be singing to the older and more courtly man judge. He treated her with more respect. I have sent this on to 7 family and friends. I've been reading comments on CNN news and apparently there is talk of a makeovers for Susan. Why? When I heard her sing, I cried. Susan touched my soul and when she did she was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen. The aura of her innocence and talent is her real beauty. I have never posted on any subject anywhere before. But I am obsessed with your talent Susan. I watched the youtube yesterday morning and have watched it probably 20 times since. I am sharing it with everyone I know. I have never had any music move me to tears, but you have! I get chills and goose bumps every time I watch it. Part of this is due to the incredible beauty of your voice, and some of it is due to the fact that you got out on stage and sang one song and I know without a doubt your life has changed forever. I especially get chills when I look at Simon's face in the video and cn see that in less than a minute he genuinely fell completely in love with you. Awesome and amazing. In a world that is focused on the antics of idiotic so-called "stars", Susan Boyle is an a refreshing and unpretentious breath of fresh air. It was great to see the judges so humbled by her performance. How she has remained undiscovered for so long is a mystery, but I think that's all about to change. She has a bright future and a dream being realized. Hers is the only video I've ever saved to my desktop and I will watch it often. A sure winner if there ever was one.

I have NEVER done this before. I found myself wondering if I got teary because you are an example of someone who has a beautiful voice and sang a wonderful song or someone who refused to let your dreams die. Or maybe it was so amazing because we are programmed to expect miraculous gifts such as yours to come solely and unexpectedly from pretty children. That audition was a hard act to follow. You are in a position to force the (Western) world to re-evaluate our expectations.

I just watched and listened to Susan Boyle. She has an amazing voice, she is truly inspiring to all of us ordinary people because she is following her dream. I found this youtube video today on Digg and...wow!!! I was blown away. What an incredible talent. But it wasn't just Miss Boyle's voice that chilled me. This was a great song choice for her and what made her performance powerful was that you could feel she meant every word she sang.

Well-stated 'alanklink' ... A pathetic statement on humanity when we can't appreciate someone who isn't society's ideal 'beauty' unless they actually prove they (gasp) have some talent. I was truly moved by Susan's performance. I have not cried from any voice in a long time. I don't think it mattered what she sings, her voice is powerful and soft at the same time, and her perfect pitch is simply soothing to the soul. I am American, I don't watch American Idol, or any talent shows, but this woman has truly captured my heart, and if anyone in the world deserves musical success right now it's her! Good luck Susan!

I have witnessed athletes who have achieved Gold Medals just moments/days after losing a loved one and are smiled down upon from Heaven. I have witnessed those traversing the rainbow bridge to the otherside as a hospice harpist and I know "they" watch long and hard over the loved ones they have left behind. You, Darling Dear Susan, must know that song was met with cheers beyong the veil. Your Mother was routing for you. Some of those shouts you heard were from there. You brought the audience to their feet in three seconds flat, and the breeze you felt were angels wings carrying you on. Bright Blessings to you. A Phoenix. An Eagle living the Nest. A Duckling now a gorgeous Swan. You rocked the world. You have a marvelous career ahead of you. Don't accept a quick check, a quick proposal or a false promise. Be steady girl. She uplifted and inspired those men and women,I can remember looking back from my regular seat in the corner right of the front row in concert after concert and seeing people's faces when my mom sang. This morning I was watching CNN they did the report on Susan Boyle. As I watched I was riveted to the TV, the voice was like no other, I was choked up and had tears in my eyes. This evening was was able to listen to the whole song this time, I was so amazed I loved it and it made me cry. She is great and I hope Susan makes it big.

Here is why I am impressed with Ms. Boyle. It isn't because of her singing, although it is very nice and with a little more training could certainly take her all the way. It isn't because she gave Simon a comeuppance for pretending he expected her to be good - though that was brilliant. It isn't even because her triumph over prejudice gives hope to the rest of us middle aged plain janes and regular joes, though she is everyone's hero for that. No, the reason I am sincerely impressed is that in the midst of overwhelming emotion and probably shock during the judging, she still had the presence of mind to hold her microphone properly and speak into it correctly. After working in the music industry for years, I can't tell you how many famous and successful singers can't manage to do this right. On behalf of sound engineers everywhere, way to go, Susan!

Now , as I watch the video from "Britain has talent", which I have done over and over again, I am deeply moved by her talent. I am not ashamed to say that her voice and the song from Les Miserables has brought tears to my eyes each and every time. Although I haven't heard any of her competitors from "BHT", It would surprise me if she didn't win the competition. I look forward to someone signing her top a contract and to purchasing her first recording.

Words cannot describe how deeply your performance touched me. As several other people have said -- I have found myself watching it over and over and over. What a phenomenal moment! They'll never make a movie of it, because Hollywood can't top the real thing. I admire your courage more than I can say. And what incredible stage prescence you have! "Thank you" seems so hollow -- there simply are no words for the way in which this performance has enriched the human spirit. It's like the Mona Lisa, or the Moonlight Concerto. Right from the first note Susan sang, she changed the world. Over 10,157,411 hits on Utube. What a sensation. Right from the first note she sang I shed tears. That was shocking to me. Now if a singer can do that, they have an extrordinary talent, but also a large warm heart. She is very focused and deliberate without hesitation when she sings. She will not be unemployed anymore. Her recordings should sell very well world wide.

Susan, all I can say is thank you for that performance which really touched me. You Tube has had over 10,000,000 hits so far. A lot of those folks (like me) would be happy to give i-tunes .99 to download a recording of that. I know some extra "brass in pocket" in these tough times could come in handy. I also imagine there are probably some fine folks in your area that could use a hand up. Perhaps you are prohibited by the show from selling music before the conclusion BUT if not, give serious thought to calling someone at i-tunes to set something up. Thanks again for a truly inspiring rendition of a hauntingly beautiful song. Bravo!
