Show your LOVE for Susan
Posted by SusanBoyleFan on June 20, 2009

Susan is expected to be perfoming again on the BGT Tour tomorrow after taking some much need rest from the busy schedule.

Sunday sees the Tour move to Wembley Arena where they are two shows (1.30pm and 6.30pm GMT). We will add videos and pictures from both performances as soon as we get them, hopefully some of the video makers will have seen Teesiel's uploads and provide members with a special treat.

FORUM UPDATE: We have noticed that their is a BIG need to clear up the blog comments and the upcoming forum should solve this problem. We should be able to launch the forum in the next couple of days where there will be lots of categories to voice your LOVE for Susan. Let's keep this blog post possitive, we understand that this is the only place to comment at the moment and everyone wants to share their views.

We are looking for a few experienced forum moderators to help out at launch, please send an email if you wish to help out.

Thank you Paul. @tommyusa and @lonnierose, I saw your comments on abc news story of our dear Susan. I put my 2 cents worth in too.

I look forward to reading positivie blogging tonight.

Thanks, Paul. You do the best job herding cats!

RE: the cat rant -- Here's my analysis: If there isn't a picture of it, it didn't happen. The story goes that Susan was on an interior balcony, screaming at the top of her lungs for Pebbles. So, you mean to tell me that there wasn't a single person in the hotel with a cell phone camera or video recorder? In these times, that just isn't plausible. And, given how much a photo or video of Susan ranting would be worth, I just don't believe it wouldn't be out there in one or more of the tabloids. I repeat: If there isn't a picture, it didn't happen.

Thank you for putting your thoughts in there too, Texaslady....blessings

Susan Boyle, take care of yourself. Remember God doesn't make junk. Love you child.
Posted by Kalua on June 20, 2009
I read somewhere (can't remember now) that an orderly at the hotel denied the whole incident, he said that nothing happened, so let's close the cat's rant please!!!
Posted by pottedferne on June 20, 2009
I really think this tour is both good and bad for Susan. Good in the fact that she is actually having an opportunity to "rehearse" in front of a live audience without being recorded and bad in that it has to be exhausting following the rigors of the competition. She appears to be a real trouper and hanging in there til she completely gives out and thankfully recharges her batteries.
Posted by WAMcKinley on June 20, 2009
Tommy said it all!! The most important thing is that Susan is fit and rested for these demanding tour performances, should she choose to participate. The fan base is secure---and we will wait for Susan as long as she chooses to spend time away. Our love and support only grow stronger by the day!! LOVE YOU, SUSAN!!!
Posted by sassyone on June 20, 2009
who here thinks that maybe Susan isn't resting but using this time to put her demos together for the CD?

I'm going to light my prayer candle for her. Godspeed for a good rest Susan.
Susan: MUCH love to you from your MOST devoted California Gold Country fan, I anxiously await to hear - and hopefully see depending on how good a dial-up connection Localnet.com can give me - videos of your next performances!
Posted by nibbana on June 20, 2009
@Ruth F Great observation! But of course, on the 8th floor ranting and raving and not 1 Picture or video? You are right...does not make sense. Didn't happen.
Posted by Kalua on June 20, 2009
Susan is ok, she is one tough lady, and tomorrow at Wembley she will rock the audience.!!!!!!
Posted by Ruth F on June 20, 2009
Question for Wild Ol' Dan: Would it be historically accurate enough for us to refer to ourselves as "Susan's Posse"?
Posted by YeahSusan on June 20, 2009
Thanks for the new blog! Susan, we all send you our love and best wishes. Hope you have had a good rest. Can't wait for tomorrow's videos!
Posted by TommyUSA on June 20, 2009
@I second that Kalua!! :)
Posted by TommyUSA on June 20, 2009
But only if Susan is rested.....:)
Posted by YeahSusan on June 20, 2009
Sassyone, I hope Susan has been resting; she needs to keep her strength up. Lots of time for CDs when the tour is over.
@sassyone; re. CD demos; If she has they're in the back of her mind right now - just my opinion :>)
Posted by ponylady on June 20, 2009
@Kalua, am so with you on that thought. Our love grows dear Susan. Do what you love.
Posted by tooncesmom on June 20, 2009
One final "cat rant" comment. This seems suspiciously like the tabloid was searching for something negative to say and decided to rerun the episode which was "alleged" to have been done earlier. I think there's way too many people with way too much time on their hands and very negative, hurtful thoughts.

It didn't pass the smell test for me and, I suspect, for many of you.

The fact that Susan excels each previous performance speaks well for her stability and desire to make her mum proud. The Canadian interview showed she was a quick thinker and sincerely humble. I think that's the real Susan.
Posted by YourAwesome on June 20, 2009
God Bless you Susan, you have filled our hearts to over flowing with pure joy!!! Love and Hugs!!! GO ROCK THAT AUDIENCE!!!! BLESSINGS...Debi, USA

One more thing. Every time I hear Susan sing I choke up. No one, no one has ever had that effect on me. Susan has the voice and smile of an angel.

@tooncesmom; re. smell test; Bad enough where I live 400 feet from a creek & lake smelling skunks all night than reading "Trashoid" accounts about Susan I've been posting daily on a "Travel Pod" website off the "Mother Ship" Susan-Boyle.com.

Thanks so much Paul for the upcoming Forum to house our discussions. Yes, no more 1000 comment blogs to wade through! Let's hope that Susan is getting all the rest she needs with Pebbles, and is ready to Make Them Rock in London's Wembley Arena tomorrow!
Posted by WAMcKinley on June 20, 2009
@tooncesmom:---I find it fascinating that so many of us have that same experience. Susan's voice,---in fact her whole persona,---touches something deep inside all of us in such a way that we all have the same reaction. It's like a cathartic release of some kind, just waiting to be set free. Susan is the key that sets us all free,
Posted by mckat1149 on June 20, 2009
I think Susan has figured out my friends that she will do this on her time and her way...she wants to thank her countrymen for voting for her by performing in as many shows as she can..but it has to be rough on the vocal cords..so she takes a break... BGT shouldn't have scheduled so many so fast..Susan will be okay she made this commitment and she will see it thru and then she will go on to bigger and better things..it is just that we have Susan withdrawals when she doesn't appear..but as she says that is a good thing ...all good things come to those who wait..! and she also said nae crap this time..! hugs Kat Florida
Posted by sassyone on June 20, 2009
YeahSusan I hope she's resting too, I just have this feeling...
Posted by Allikat on June 20, 2009
Once Susan performs again--and looks like it's to be Sunday the 21st after all, hopefully both shows (and if not both, maybe just the evening one?)--there'll be plenty of 'positive' blogging going on here. No more silly stories about tabloid accounts of 'cat rants' etc.

Anybody else realize what a privilege it is, being able to watch videos people make (I think it's technically not legit to do so...) of Susan's BGT tour performances? I've never witnessed anything like it; I do feel like I'm being offered forbidden, delicious 'treats'.

As to what sassyone commented on earlier: I hope Susan isn't being forced to actually record the demos yet on her 'days off' during this tour. To think about the songs, maybe 'rehearse' them mentally or whatever--but not go into the studio yet to produce them. Well, unless she wants to, and it's actually her own idea...

Thank you, Paul. I throw you Big Susan Kisses!

Today, I planted four window boxes on the deck with lovely flowers while I listened to Susan sing. I thought of you all and dedicated all the lovely flowers to Susan so when I am on the deck, she will be thought of at all times with each blossom. Because Susan represents all the beautiful flowers in the world combined. True Beauty.
Posted by IvoryMist on June 20, 2009
Every time I see Tommy make a comment about Susan I think what a good husband he would be for her...he absolutely, positively adores her! Just what she needs. Then they could sit in their rocking chairs and watch his tributes!
Posted by terijay on June 20, 2009
Hi all. Upon re-watching the Cloeup edinburgh shows- thanks to LISA- I was stunned again by how VERY beautiful Susan looks and of course, sings perfectly both songs...something is going on with her- of course we have NO clue as to what it is- but, I am also a woman of a certain age, and I have my musings as to what is going on with her...let's just say, I think it is more than exhaustion.. something more personal. I think i know what it is. But. I do not want to speculate here and be slammed

thanks so much Paul- from TERI in redondo beach, ca

LOL @IvoryMist....:) YES I DO ADORE HER!!
Posted by ML on June 20, 2009
Oooh, I forgot to mention, some of the flowers I planted are a new version of Black-Eyed Susans called Blushing Susies. They make me think of her spectacular brown eyes and her adorable, pink cheeks.
EVERY time I hear Susan sing my eyes well up in tears; am instantly transported back to THE time when great singing icons like Kate Smith boomed across the airwaves and everything seemed "right" to me.
Posted by WAMcKinley on June 20, 2009
@terijay: You said enough that all of us know what you mean!!-----LOL!!!
Posted by xeno on June 20, 2009
Thank you, Paul, for trying to get the comments here on a positive track. Let's hope that everyone follows the rules and keeps up a good, supportive vibe for Susan.

It's great that Susan has been able to get some much-needed rest before her London performances. She's going to give yet another brilliant performance tomorrow night, as she always does. Even when it seems she can't possibly sing any better, she always manages to top herself. I can't wait to hear Susan's CD; no matter what songs she chooses to sing, we can expect an amazing performance from her.

Someone from the last blog mentioned T-Shirts...I hope Susan makes money off anything/everything made!! She deserves a royality income from all merchantise made..or at least a portion to her favorite charities! I hope her people are watching over her on all accounts!! Thanks for posting "This little light of Mine" It is so cute and soooooooooo SUSAN!!...She is the light that will keep on shining!! BLESSINGS SUSAN!! :)

It's so good to be here to watch this site 'evolve' and 'grow'. It is exciting...but I am so sad that some of Susan's loyal fans have felt that they have to leave for various reasons....so very sad.
Posted by Randma on June 20, 2009
Why, terijay, WHATEVER could you be referring to???? Loss of appetite? Commencement of a rigorous exercise program??? Secretive advice from Carmindy of "What not to Wear"??? I'm not going to speculate either, but I'm just saying.....
Posted by sassyone on June 20, 2009
Tenijay, lets hear what you have to think. Often I'm wrong about a lot of things, and her demo thing was just a thought. :)
Posted by WAMcKinley on June 20, 2009
@ML: What an absolutely perfect combination! Maybe you've "planted the seeds" of beautiful things to come!! We can keep a positive thought, anyhow!!

FOREIGN LANGUAGES. Forums are coming! In addition to a full array of English-language forums, shouldn't there be at least one forum for each of the other languages spoken by a substantial number of Susan's fans? (I've noticed a few posts in French, Spanish, and Dutch.) Wouldn't it help to strengthen Susan's world-wide fan base for this site to be a place where folks who speak languages other than English can best express themselves in their mother tongues? Paul is looking for Forum Moderators. Shouldn't native speakers of languages other than English be appointed to moderate language-specific forums?

Well now I will tell you a little story.

On April 14th at around 6pm I got back from work, and as I was passing by the dog’s house (basset-hound called Pepper) I heard my daughter (Gabriela 3 years old, she was inside the dog’s house) singing "and the lions lalalalala", I thought she had learned a new song at school, so I went in and asked my wife if it was so.

She took my hand and practically pulled me to the computer, clicked on UTube and there it was Susan Boyle!!!! I stood there absolutely transfixed by that voice, watching this incredible little lady singing I dreamed a dream.

My daughter came running (with the dog) and said “Daddy, Susan….and the lions lalalala”

Since then, every night just before reading her a story, she comes with me to the computer to watch and listen to Susan…. And the lions lalalalalala.

So I joined this global village and became a susanite!!!!

In regards to sassyone, she is thinking what I thought all along. If you look at the tours that she has missed and those she performed at, you will see that the ones she performed at were more advantageous for her: her "return"; her native Scotland; now London, her "big time" city. Meanwhile, Susan must be planning her CD while she is resting her VOICE for the CD. Go Susan!
Great News! I thought it was Monday at Wembley. Sunday is even better, one day closer. Lots of news have hit the airwaves today on our Susan. Just goes to show you how well known she's becoming, especially the more she sings.

Planted a Susan Rose in April, and it is now blooming in a lovely dark pink and smells delightful. For our girl.

Posted by joyceleo on June 20, 2009
LOL, Ivory Mist, you're on the right track! Now if we can just get Susan's attention. Well, one look at the videos and she'll know.Susan is looking for a lovely career and a life full of love. I can just see them now: in the chairs, having a "cuppa tea", watching his visual love poems, and Pebbles purring peacefully by her side. May all her dreams come true. He knows how to throw the dragons into the ditch. And he knows how to love a radiant butterfly.

@WAM, here's a pic of Blushing Susies. http://www.veseys.com/ca/en/store/annuals/thunbergia/blushingsusie/image I hope it's okay that I put the link it cause it kind of does pertain to Susan. The colors remind me so much of her cheeks when she's happy.

The plant grows up fences but I'm having mine flow over the sides of the window boxes. Surrounding the Bachelor Buttons in a big hug the way Susan opens her arms to the audience. :)
Posted by sassyone on June 20, 2009
Donna T, it makes sense to me, get a good day's rest. Next day do a few recordings. Go home, rest again. Then get ready for Sunday's two big performances. When Starvros Flatley had their rest day they went off and did a photo shoot. So why not her with a few recordings?

I'm just throwing it out there, not saying she has done this, it's like others have said speculation.
Posted by Texaslady on June 20, 2009
@kalua - that is such a cute story!
@Ammo; re. folks leaving Susan-Boyle.com; Passions run deep & hard in impromptu forums like this daily post, hopefully Paul will organize & properly manage the new site forums well enough to maintain civil control. For sure he'll need a "General Discussion Forum" for those having "communication compulsion issues."

Gotta go, mom's yelling for me to come have dinner - Chao!

Hope the new forum is not tto complicated to get into and I was glad that susan had over 1000 comments in one blog. That was a record I believe. Also most of the comments conveyed love and concern for her. Looking to find the telegraph information. You can sent one through the post. I'll ask my friend who works at UPS about how to go about doing this.

@terijay, What ,meno pause ? I was through it by the time I was 45 . The crush? I am 51 so I guess I am of a certain age ,am I not? I don't get what you see???The need to re-invent herself maybe?
Posted by fano123 on June 20, 2009
Below is a blog entry from a woman who's nephew worked at the hotel in Liverpool.

She goes on to say ... The alleged cat incident is a complete fabrication(I know that as my nephew works at the hotel) Susan was described to me as and delightful and friendly lady and he hotel staff could not believe the extent to which press and fans were harassing her and how dignified and patient she was. But with fans searching your hotel and banging on your door you are not going to get much sleep nor be able to summon the energy to perform to the best of your ability...

She'll get it eventually, Tommy. There's probably a mountain of fan mail sitting there in Blackburn, waiting for her return. But a special "packet," such as yours probably is, will stand out from the rest. Hard to be patient, though, I know!! And there's also the possibility that she got it but hasn't yet had the chance to view it. I get the feeling things aren't especially up-to-date, technically speaking, in Blackburn!!-------(c: Oh, well.
Boylefan: just a thought...yes in a way for everyone to be able to "follow" in his/her mothertongue but one common central international thread is so inspiring and more fun for me ...
Posted by fano123 on June 20, 2009
Kalua Maybe we're missing a good thing here. Were do we have to go to spend all day making up bizarre s#@t and get paid for it?

From what I see the only qualifications are an active imagination and moral ambiguity.
Posted by Ruth F on June 20, 2009
I traffic in words, but for the last 10 weeks, I've be unable to articulate why Susan has the impact on me -- and so many others -- that she does. If it were intellectually, analytically, or (in the philosophical sense) logically-driven, I would have been able to capture it by now.

I've been unsuccessful for a very good reason: We feel Susan's impact in the gut, not the head. It is purely an emotional, empathetic connection. Such connections are to be prized more than any other.

I want Susan to feel our love, but I don't want her to be overwhelmed by it. When we express it, there has to be a touch of whimsy, so that she knows that: (1) we're in her court, wholeheartedly, and (2) we take joy from what she gives.

I renew my request for a "Free Susan" movement. It has the touch of whimsy that, based upon what we've heard from her, she would get a kick out of.

Seriously, guys: Let's take it as our mission to defuse all of the seriousness and nastiness that has surrounded Susan over these last few weeks. Let's help her have fun again!
Posted by TommyUSA on June 20, 2009
@WAMcKinley.....yes, I understand..:)...waiting patiently.

@Marie-Fan Forever Canada - You seem to be fluent in both English and French. What about francophones who fear that they'll make fools of themselves if they try to express themselves fully in English? There's nothing to stop anglophones from reading comments in the proposed French-language forum. (For example, I read French fairly well; but, I would be most reluctant to comment in French.)

patriciaart got the stuff i was thinking correct! Yep- first of all, The "change"- i started having panic attacks when I was 47- BIG TIME- i though i was having a heart attack, actually- it was horrible!! I still have 'em tho i am on Seritonin uptake meds- I still have them! The other thing was that I really read between the lines when Susan did her little Jig during the Semis in total public view, and no one can deny she said "Piersy baby this is for you" this is on record on national televison and she suposedly kissed him that same night, tho I suspect it was mutual-- after all, his girlfriend wrote about it on i think it was May 26th, that they were locked into a passionate embrace. I personally think ( speculation of course) that Susan had more than a little crush on Mr. Morgan. I also bet that he calls her DAILY also...maybe just to get her on AGT- he has said he wants her on it. Very confusing stuff for a small town girl. Just my humble opinion, and one day we will know- I just want her to be happy!!

This link will bring you to Simon’s article in Mail Online website. I posted my response (included below) and they never published it. So I decided to bring my response to Susan’s fans over here, to make sure Simon to know, we are watching how is treating our sweetheart Susan.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-1194302/After-Britains-Got-Talent-backlash-Simon-Cowell-finally-admits-Sorry-I-did-make-mistakes.html

Thank you Simon, for discovering Susan Boyle for us.

Maybe show competitions should have certain regulations in order to meet some age or mental conditions, but who is going to watch them if chances to find diamond (read: talent) would be narrowed to zero?

But all in all I would say that the only participant in BGT you are still missing is Susan. I cannot believe you’ve been so short of view not to realize that she is way different from all participants of the show. Let’s say you did not appreciate her talent personally, but you could see that her fame is instantly growing, so the fame of your show, and not otherwise.

So what would you do to your child if you find him playing on highway? You would probably be real quick to get him out of trouble, wouldn’t you? Susan is your show child, and she found herself on highway of people’s maniac attention from the day one! And you actually did not do anything during first weeks of her madness exposure to the world. Susan did not realize where she is, but you should, because you know what fame is and how it might damage regular person’s life.

I wish to say thank you again, that you care for Susan now. If she would be able to activate her whole potential, she could make the people around the world a little bit happier. And from my point of view that should be worthy of your entire career in the entertainment business.

@fano123 That's an idea, I could buy a revolving door :-)
Posted by Ruth F on June 20, 2009
Dear ammo and others - If we are a "village," it's certain that each of us won't feel a connection with all of the others. That's fine; we're just reflecting the rest of the world around us. All that really matters is that we treat each other with the respect befitting each creation of God. Let's -- none of us -- be worn down by others. Let's -- all of us -- treat each other with the respect and love that each of us craves and all of us deserve.
Posted by terijay on June 20, 2009
patiricasart- i have also got stuck in a revolving door- i am from Los Angeles and we do not have those here...when in nYC i did also get stuck in one (LOL)
@Ammo; re. Mom yelling at me to have dinner; YES she did, 88 years old and lungs big as a Navy deep sea diver's! Mom doesn't cook much anymore but today she "felt good" and whipped up one of my favorite meals: Spanish Rice - yum!
Posted by WAMcKinley on June 20, 2009
Oh, goodie!!! Now we're dealing with revolving doors, too!! What's next,---food service carts,-------or maybe rolling luggage racks??!! I'm ready for anything!! Sheesh!!
Posted by Kalua on June 20, 2009
@Casey'smom My pleasure...:-)
Posted by fano123 on June 20, 2009
WAMcKinley I don't know if you read this in the paper, but the John-Hopkins Medical school has stopped using lab rats for their experiments and started using tabloid writers.

They found that the lab technicians were becoming to attached to the rats and that the tabloid writers would do things that the rats wouldn't.

(ano old joke but appropriate)

We are having the Miss Tennessee Pageant this week in our building and every time I hear one of them little ole scrawny gals singing off key, I remark to my boss in my best Southern country slang "Well, she ain't no Susan Boyle. He just smiles and agrees. lol I'm so thankful that tonight will wrap that event up. Go Susan. yeaaaaaah
Posted by PIGGIE on June 20, 2009
Re: revolving door. Let me ask you this...if any one of us had cameras following our every movement, don't you think we would each be written up as odd? Gosh, just the other day I was out at a restaurant and screamed and stood up at the table, knocking over my chair, because I thought there was a snake in my lap! Turned out it was just the drawstring from the black top I was wearing!

@Yes Ruth F....I say...LET SUSAN BE SUSAN!!! Susawiggle!!! Susagiggle!!! Susasmile!!! We are here to make you laugh Susan!!!

WE ARE YOUR TUBE OF SMARTIES!!!! WE COME IN ALL DIFFERENT COLORS...AND WE LOVE YOU!!!

Posted by Patricia's Art on June 20, 2009
@terijay , Just to be clear on my comment. I'm disappointent with this story going spreading and each time they add new details. So far if you put all the stories together you have Susan getting out of the car, running to the revolving doors, getting stuck ,running to the balcony and screaming for her cat while pulling up her shirt ,scratching her stomach and then climbing up the fire escape. What we we read next. Meanwhile all we see is a lovely calm lady singing on stage.
@Ruth F; 10-4 on all above; fans of Susan, show up outside AGT venues with "Free Susan" signs, get instant mainstream press attention ala those in Iran posting Twitter, YouTube et.al. other social networking site videos, no political importance equivalency intended of course between the two.
Posted by pottedferne on June 20, 2009
@fano...thought that was a lawyer joke LOL, but also fitting for tabloid writers. I will share that with my coworkers who will get a particular perverse appreciation for it.
I leave that to you creative Boylefan !!! LOL...there has to be a way for everyone to join in and participate...that's for sure....!
Posted by Randma on June 20, 2009
Terijay, I agree with you on both counts about Susan. That old menopause thing can throw you for a loop. Then there's the Piers situation. I figured out pretty quick that the kiss was a mutual thing....what guy that DOESN'T want to be kissed needs at least five seconds (the time he stated in his blog) to get himself dis-entangled from a woman's clutches???? Yep, me thinks his interest in getting Susan on AGT may have more than a professional motivation....
Posted by mirthcolorado on June 20, 2009
Well I keep wondering, AMERICAS GOT TALENT starts on Tuesday in USA. With the talk by Piers of her making an appearance, I wonder if in fact she might be doing a presentation for it. Just a thought.. ...and maybe a wish to see her via the television. That would be great wouldn't it!!!!!!
Posted by lttlesis on June 20, 2009
I would really love to read a comment from Susan herself about this fansite: what does she think of it, does she read the comments, her future or immediate plans etc. I too like viewing the first 3 performances over and over. I also think the tabloid reported need to "get a life" and leave Susan alone and stop making up stories about her.
Posted by PIGGIE on June 20, 2009
@patriciasart: I think the articles are escalating to a point where they are just so ridiculous that (hopefully) no one is taking them seriously anymore.
Posted by whisper1 on June 20, 2009

I just love Susan’s voice I replay her renditions of her songs several times a day. What better way then to whisk her away for a couple of days where she can rest spend time with people she trust and her cat. I hope she gets to shop and do some of the things she needs and wants to do. Hey, a 2-day stint in a spa would be great for her…..:-) Hey Susan take your time……you are a wonderful lady. You are all on this site not bad either....:) I enjoy the postings...!!!!!

This new comment thread is like wading in a bowl of ice cream. Come on, guys. I think by now you're familiar enough with my comments that I can't be labeled a negative contributor. Perhaps a little salty at times. But I am an adult and I like to sink my teeth into an adult dialogue, especially one that may help Susan, such as that leading to a lot of e-mails sent to Susan's handlers which may do her a lot of good.

Well, I was a 60s activist, so that explains where I am coming from. But I like sophisticated banter that I can chew on or goof on, and there are a lot of sophisticated people who post here and I want them to be free to speak their minds. We are not just cotton-headed cheerleaders or revival meeting clones.

What are we going to talk about next, recipes for blueberry muffins?

Howdy RuthF,

Well, first off, sorry it took me so long to catch up with the outfit...I was out on the South forty nursin' some critters. But, let's see, you asked would it be historically accurate to refer to ourselves as Susan's Posse?

Sure seems to me like it would. Mighty big posse too when ya think about it...over 23,200 of us...all ridin' for Susan.

Yep...I'd say that would be "historically accurate"... and if I was the British Tabloids I'd be anticipatin' mor'n a little backlash! You know, those critters ain't likely to print our responses to their garbage but somebody in their outfit has to be readin' those responses...so let's let 'em know how we feel...

The way I figure it there aint but one bad guy in this whole thing...and that's the British Tabloid media.

So, saddle up pards...we're ridin' for Susan...doin' everything we can to help her achieve her dreams. If the bad guys get in the way...there's mor'n enough of us to help'em figure out they better get out of the way.

Might be a long trail up ahead...fill your saddlebags...and your canteens...and, uh, bring a rope... you never can tell when we might need one...

Saddle up. Let's ride!

randma- here is the quote from Celia Warda (sp) May 26 after her BF kissed Miss Boyle
•As if having to leave the festival behind wasn't bad enough, I returned to reports that my boyfriend – a judge on Britain's Got Talent – had been unfaithful. It happened on Sunday night, backstage, when he passed 48-year-old Scottish singing sensation Susan Boyle on the stairs: minutes later, the two were caught in a passionate embrace.

"She kissed me," squealed Piers, as we sat together grimly later that night, trying to establish whether we could move past it. "It was beyond my control." But I know the Susans of the world: with their little jigs of delight and ingenue attitudes, they're the deadliest breed of all.

If Susan makes an appearance on AGT, I think it will probably be in the finale or close to it. If the ratings for this show increase, it will be due totally to Susan Boyle so of course they want her. It would be wonderful to actually be able to see her perform here but only if she wants to and quite frankly, I am not sure she will. In truth, why should she except to please the millions of us who are fans in the US?

I take it back. The thread got interesting again in the time it took to write my rant. Just can't stand that Good Housekeeping/Reader's Digest stuff (and I'm a good cook--but not so good on dusting and vacuuming). I think our discussions of our concern for Susan's well-being and future are extremely worthwhile and may lead to helping her, as we devise ways to use the internet for this purpose. But first we have to discuss them and share our ideas and expertise. Susan, we've got your back. No kidding. And look at what we were able to accomplish last year with Hillary. Same thing. Use the internet. Like the Iranians are doing.

Several of us have joked about, variously, the bus, caravan, and so forth that we want to form when Susan comes to the United States. I suspect that many of you feel the same way I do: I'M SERIOUS!

All of us want Susan to feel our affection. All of us want to feel that we're doing something to reinforce the intrinsic value of Susan's "stand" for all of us who want to connect at a deep level with each other as a way of making this world a better place in which to love one another and pursue our dreams.

That's why I'm volunteering to coordinate our efforts when, as is inevitable, it is announced that Susan is coming Stateside. Her U.S. fans are dispersed across this great, wide country, but we must come together to support our dear Susan. (I don't mean to exclude Susan's Canadian and Mexican fans. We should really refer to this as our "North American Initiative.")

In the immortal words of the President, "We can, and we will." Many of our number have limited resources, but together, we can make it possible for all to experience Susan's triumph in the United States. Let's pay close attention in the coming weeks and months as Susan's plans are disclosed. She WILL be here in the U.S., and let's be sure we're at her side -- in large numbers.

If you would like, I would be delighted to coordinate (or help coordinate) our "welcome," ensuring that the largest number of us -- Susan's biggest fans -- are able to take part. Susan has transformed many of us, and we owe it to her to be at her side as she spreads her uplifting message to our countrymen.

We can come together physically to welcome and support Susan. It takes: (1) a trivial amount of money in aggregate and (2) a very great amount of spirit and goodwill, which this group has in abundance. We can make it work, gang, and we can take a stand for our beloved Susan!

I haven't laughed this hard in months...my ribs are hurting...you guys are a hoot...thank you, thank you
@All, "Trashoid" articles; Read Google posts three times/day off Google about them, half are near word-for word regurgitations off "parent" posts of corporate owned publications.

Celebrity press reporting I think is being "challenged" by the phenomenon Susan Boyle, WHY ELSE would Simon Cowell issue a "confession" on The Daily Mail if he wasn't under any "heat" by fans of her's? Cowell knows full well that HE needs US (U.S. included...) to buy whatever Susan will produce in the future, but the "Trashoids" ain't accountable to anybody, never have, never will be sad to say!

Yes indeed, DO boycott the "Trashoids" and their sponsors, DO protest indigently directly to them whenever possible, DO say and write whatever's legitimate about their failure to publish facts rather than lies, particularly against those "mainstream" publications like the Washington & Los Angeles Times for example which DON'T practice good journalism when it comes to celebrity reporting. I say go FIRST after the "mainstreamers" in this regard as THEY'VE got more to loose!

- End of rant, sorry!

Well, I shouldn't still be wide awake at this time of day nearly 3am) but I thought I might just pop in to check the general mood. Wow! You are so funny! When I started reading those posts packed with veiled innuendos about menopausing troubles I was already laughing but when I came to Patriasart's account of all the ludicrous things tabloids have made up so far, I was laughing out loud! It's so good to be able to take all this with a pinch of salt (well, in that case the whole shaker)! I'm sure if Susan could read this, she would be laughing with us!

I don't know about Piers Morgan. It seems to me that he's just been stringin' our Lady along with them honey drippin' smiles and nice gestures. Heck, a gal that ain't never been priviledged to have a feller might not know how to properly react to some smarmy good lookin' dude flirtin' and carryin' on with her just because he thinks it's a joke and want to have a little laugh at our Susan's expense. We all know she's as innocent as a babe and ain't realizing that there are cassanovas in this world that would flirt with the bearded lady at the circus if they could expect some monatery gain from it. I don't trust him to have any feelings for Susan. He likes his women young, curvaceous and drop dead gorgeous. He's a man of the show business world. I really doubt he thinks of our Angel like that. He may have a bit of sympathy for her and is trying to keep her calm, but romantic feelings; I think not.

When I get nervous for Susan I take comfort only in her own interview words and trust that she has not changed. (quotes not necessarily in order:)

“I heard people say things that weren’t very friendly. I knew what they were thinking,” she says. “I saw people laughing and I knew they were laughing at me. But I thought, well, they’ll soon shut up when they hear me sing. And they did.

How did that make her feel? “Pleased,” she says. “It’s what I wanted.” Did she feel patronised by the judges when they expressed such open astonishment? “No, I was happy with the way it went. They’ve all been very nice to me.”

“It’s early days. I’m taking baby steps at the moment. I’m just an ordinary person trying to make it as a professional singer. I really don’t want to change all that much.”

“Maybe I’ll consider a makeover later on,” she laughs. “For now I’m happy the way I am — short and plump. I would not go in for Botox or anything like that. I’m content with the way I look. What’s wrong with looking like Susan Boyle? What’s the matter with that?”

Given her popularity in the US, could she be tempted by a move to New York or Los Angeles? “Oh no, I am going to stay in Blackburn, West Lothian. This is where I belong. My family is here and they are a great support to me. They are right behind me but they also keep my feet firmly on the ground.”

“ … became a target for bullies. It wasn’t a happy time but Boyle found sanctuary in her closeknit, religious family. “I was a cheeky little girl at home. You had to fight your corner in a family the size of ours.” She also learnt as a child that she could sing.`

“It has been quite a week,” she says, collapsing into a seat by the window. “It has been overwhelming, a bit terrifying but it has been fun. I’m enjoying it. Most of the time it’s a good laugh.”

@TOMMYUSA, didn't know how you sent it to Susan but if special someone would have to sign for it unless Scotland post offices are different. I remember Blackburn was getting bags of mail for Susan. No telling how much she has now. But special by the post office should be different than regular mail. I hope someone kept it separate than routine mail.

I sent Susan a fan letter to Blackburn but it was very early right after I saw her on the audition.

@terijay , To be honest, I don't believe Piers account,it sounds straight out of a harlequin romance novel! Think about it,he told Susan not to watch TV,not to read the papers and she doesn't go online, she said she knows nothing about computers so Piers can make up all kinds of stories and Susan would never know.
Posted by Ruth F on June 20, 2009
Dearest Wild Ol' Dan,

Thank you so much for your response. If we are the posse, then let's show it! T-shirts for all! Does anybody know how we can make this happen? (I'm afraid I'm not well-versed in the ways of popular culture.) In my ideal world, Susan's posse exhorts the rest of the world to "FREE SUSAN" from the rants, tirades, and backbiting of those who either are insecure in their place in the world or would denigrate her contribution.

I am proud to be a member of "SUSAN'S POSSE," and I want to declaim it to the world! SUSAN'S POSSE says FREE SUSAN to offer to the world all that she can offer -- and that's a lot!

The back of my dress got caught in an industrial fan when I was giving instructions to a production crew. I didn't realize I was standing there with my behind out at first. Then, like a real dolt, I turned around and got the front caught. Major "Duh" moment.

Finally, one of the guys took pity on me and unplugged the fan. That morning I'd realized I was out of clean underwear and wore a leopard print "fun" pair meant for other purposes than work, if you know what I mean. All I could think of was my mother telling me when I was a kid to be careful what underwear I wore in case I was ever in an accident.

I had quite the meltdown in front of everyone. Stuff happens. We're human. It got written up in the company newsletter, too. People who haven't seen me in a long time remind me of the incident. Sigh.

Hollywood, CA loves you Susan Boyle!!!!
Posted by joyceleo on June 20, 2009
In response to IvoryMist: First, she would have to ask. I don’t think she has as yet, LOL. But if she were to do so, I’d listen to her heart first. What are her dreams? (We think we know most of them already—a career, a love life, a tribute to her beloved parents, assistance to her siblings and family.) What is her mission in life? (We think we know the answer to that one, too: she is not materialistic in the slightest, from all accounts; she wants to “be a worthwhile person”; she wants to be “a human being” and she has identified humanness—humanity—as her “identity”. And she has a very STRONG identity. She wants to light up the world and sing to the heart and soul and bring happiness to people.) Understanding her goals is the first step to achieving them. And we know how she has moved toward her goal by taking “baby steps” all the way to the BGT blast--off into SuperNova stardom. She has practiced singing all her life; she has “paid her dues” in the “practice, practice” part in getting to Carnegie Hall. Professionally speaking, she is ready, but emotionally speaking it would be most difficult for anybody to cope with the deluge of instant fame and its inevitable backlash and the constant negativity that characterizes the sordid productions of the tabloids. People actually PAY to read the tabloid blood-sport destruction of others; somehow it makes them feel good, but to me it is a sickening affair. And of course, I’d be interested in knowing how she really feels about all these “tigers” in her life—the ones who have bullied her, harassed her, and belittled her in her young life and now the “tabloid tigers” in her present life. Has she been able in the past to keep her focus and fulfill her mission? Most resoundingly so!—which signals that she is able to put matters in perspective and move on, like the caravan that keeps moving as the yapping dogs bark and bark. She has learned to tune them out in the past and she can do so again, although it must be incredibly painful and heart-wrenching for her. I believe she is mentally sound and mentally sharp; anyone, however, needs support in making such unprecedented transitions in her life. Most of all she simply needs a management team devoted to her and her career. I would advise her NOT to ever sign with Simon or anyone associated with BGT or ABT. It is quite obvious that she has been calculatedly BETRAYED by BGT every step of the way. I’m not sure why; but she would know and be able to speak the truth. Perhaps that is exactly why there have been no interviews allowed as yet. Some people, like Susan, carry more truth than others can stand. Also, at the moment, in this most incredible rise to global fame, she hasn’t a team working for her and her alone. There is no PR firm watching out for her; no stylist who can properly dress her with clothes that fit; no manager with understanding or compassion for her unique and God-given talents and aspirations. I am no media maven, but I would hope that someone like Oprah or Tina Turn or Aretha Franklin—all of whom share her spiritual “soul” qualities and who share abusive backgrounds—would get in touch with her and guide her and her little boat into a safe harbor where she can be refitted for an oceanic liner. She will weather all the storms. Oh, and not to embarrass anybody, including myself, I would advise her to watch Tommy’s videos and come visit the USA soon!

I have but one request and that would be that the Lady Susan have her knight in shining armor beside her (TommyUSA) leading the best of the ramuda. So scurrilous British tabloids be forwarned, we don't like you here in America.

Me, too, Irish! And the QE would surely hear about it, too.

Ya-Ya, my most embarrassing moment was when I was working for a police dept in Md. back in the late 60's. They had just come out with pantyhose, so I put some on when I got ready for work that morning. I had brushed my hair and cleaned my brush before dressing. Didn't discover until the end of the day that I had missed the wastebasket when I cleaned my brush that morning and that glob of hair from my brush had been plastered to my CALF under my pantyhose ALL DAY and no one had said a word!!!

@Wild Ol'Dan; Well, uh, my 54 year old baby brother might be able to find that 1973 El Dorado he and his wife of 28 years once owned sold to them by my mom's 85 year old second cousin Gerald "Toad" Whiteside some years back.

Do like to think the "Toadmobile" is part of the 1994 Honda Accord I got from a probate settlement in 2003 from the estate of a 57 year old gal friend of mine who quite suddenly died (yet another story...) otherwise will lease one from a Cadillac dealership - if can find one that's still in business!

@Casey'smom, that is the beauty of being a woman of "a certain age" like Susan. We have all been through a ton of stuff to get to this point, some of it painful, some of it hilariously funny. But the important thing is, it makes us tough enough and we're still standing. That's what's important and when it's all said and done, Susan Boyle will have all of us behind her and we "get" her completely. That's a great deal of collective strength combined.

I hear a lot of naysayers spewing that she came too late to the game and I say PHOEY to that. All the things that have happened to each and everyone of us have made us who we are and Susan is no exception. Maybe it took her longer to get there, but she has the wisdom of being "a certain age" and I believe in her.

Even if she had gotten caught in a revolving door, so what? You know that stuff happens to us all and if these reporters haven't had the fun of standing in a pair of leopard print undies with a ton of laughing people watching or screaming over a snake in their lap, heck, they just haven't lived long enough and look what is in store for them. tee hee

Posted by aliz on June 20, 2009
You know I was reading comments earlier today from SUsan Boyle Fan Club USA, and I found that they actually sent notes to susan through snail mail. They are actually mailed to her because they know she doe not have a computer. I wonder if we could set this up on this site. If not then go to that site, they are really mad about the tabs too and love susan bunches like we do. They also have some videos that we don't especially some interviews that were good. It really is a supportive site. They don't blog like we do but they do get the comments and notes to susan.
Posted by TXNoelle on June 20, 2009
Naa, PAT. They probably thought I had a new big hair mole on my leg and were just being polite.

OH! Not only THAT, but there was the day (darn croppy pantyhose back then!) that my panty hose caught my starched A-line skirt and shoved it up in a point a bit below my waist one morning as I entered the office. You shoulda seen the detective's eyes!!!
@ArielAZ; California - "Kaleeeforeahh" - IS broke!

I see many people are wondering, as I am, what draws them so passionately to Susan. Why is there so much attention and fanfare? BGT has said in their defense " We don't really know what do about it, nothing like this has ever happened before." Many are trying to find a rational explanation for all this excitement. Some are calling it an addiction but they find themselves, like me, checking the blogs the next day, worrying, waiting, and hoping. Susan was very surprised herself when it all began but she said, 'it may be that people can identify with me because I am an ordinary person just like them, but now I have accomplished something I always dreamed of and thats what most people want." I don't think there really is a rational explanation for it all. I think it is more a subconcious reaction we are all having to her level of artistry, which is her accomplishment. She has charisma, and many strengths and weaknesses, but these have only helped her get to this point in life. She also has talent but to reach the level of artistry she has reached, it also takes a lot of hard work. Somewhere somehow she has done that work. My perception, after seeing her perform again in Glasgow (especially), is that she is still working, not just resting but working. When she performs again I have a hunch we will see that she has grown somemore. She is after all " A Very Serious Cookie ".

@aliz: Are you sure that those notes from that other fan site reach Susan any sooner or more efficiently than any of the OTHER notes and letters people have been sending to her all along?? I mean,---do they have a special "in" with the P.O. there or something?? Seems to me all "snail mail" is accumulating in bundles and piles at her house (or that of her very patient neighbor) as it always has. Don't know of any special tricks of gettiing it through any more directly than that.

I think, in her own words, ..she is a cheeky little girl..." and that characteristic will carry her through. I hope she remembers how she had to elbow her way around that large family of her's, she will be OK. I am looking forward to seeing/hearing her perform tomorrow. Another Bravo performance it will be. My addiction: I don't tend to be addicted to things for long, because I quickly find excess of anything to be unhealthy and ultimately repetitive and unrewarding. Ms. Boyle has definitely created an addictive pathology in my psyche. When I listen to Susan Boyle, the air is pristine, scents are evocative, I feel encased in a sense of spiritual well-being. I'm not a religious person, so I imagine instinct compels me to seek out further stimulation. I am always tolerating the status quo in search of a new Boyle fix?????

Yep. You're right. So...did I ever tell ya about a feller named California Carlson. He was around way before your time. Used to ride with a friend of mine...many, many years ago. Anyways, every year, long about October I head out to a place called Lone Pine, California. Mighty purty country out thar. Truth is California Carlson rode quite a bit in those parts...yep, that was a whole lotta years back now.

Anyways, thanks ArielAZ for settin' me straight...still is mighty purty country out thar though. I love the sagebrush prairies, rocky canyons, and those big, beautiful mountains. Someday I'll have to tell ya about Lone Pine...

Adios for now. Talk to ya on down the trail.

I want to share something with you, take it for what it's worth but know it is shared with good intentions and not meant to preach or anything close to it. Over the years, although I was drawn to countless personalities, there has been only one who entered my heart and has lived there for the past 47 years. The moment I saw Barbra Streisand on Judy Garland's television show in 1963 (I was 13), she entered my heart. The love and admiration for her was instantaneous. And through all these years, the love and admiration for her has only gotten stronger and deeper. Through the years, the tabloid press has had a field day with stories about Barbra, and perhaps hundreds, thousands, millions of magazines were sold because of those stories. The stories infuriated not only Barbra, but me and no doubt all her fans. We all knew the stories were trash, but there was little we could do about those stories that were written or those that would be written in the years to come. In 1977 Barbra recorded a song on her album "Superman" to express some of her frustration over the insane stories the press were making up and printing about her. Back then, Barbra had two pet parakeets living with her, and the pets were living in a lovely, large cage. The press got wind of Barbra's pets and off they went on some cockamayne (sp) tale of the birds flying wild in Barbra's apartment. She collaborated with song writers Ron Nagle and Scott Mathews to write a song that expressed her feelings about what she called "pull-the-wool-over-the-eyes-of-the-public journalism." The song is titled Don't Believe What You Read. And below are some of the lyrics that relate to the story I just relayed about her parakeets.

Dinner and a movie I'll just show my face in town Rumors fly so fast that I don't try to live 'em down Gets old answering questions why and trying to explain Why I prefer to stay at home with friends and entertain Don't believe it Don't believe what you read Don't believe it 'bout the life that we lead Now just read in the papers that I bought some birds today Flying all around my house Just havin' their own sweet way Now makes me feel so foolish cause they called my house a cage But there's nothin' I can do Just puts me in a rage. Don't believe it Don't believe what you read no, no, no Don't believe it 'bout the life that I lead.

We all know those latest stories about Susan crying for her cat are rubbish. Don't believe them. Press hasn't calmed down about Barbra in all these years and it's not going to. Not going to calm down about Susan, either, long as she is the story, the tabloid press will exploit her. Don't believe what you read.

And as far as eccentricities . . . we all have eccentricities in one way or another. They are part and parcel of who we are, our inner workings, they are what makes us who and what we are.

Oh, Barbra has a roomate now. I never ever thought another singer/actor/entertainer would instantaneously warm my heart and touch my soul the way she did. Well, another singer/actor/entertainer did just that, and her name is Susan Boyle.

As for the trash that is written about her, well, it's just trash. As one very wise woman once advised, "Don't believe what you read!"

From the eight floor I am trying to visualize this in my mind. It sounds more like a skit from a comedy movie then truth. Therefore I do not believe a thing I read. I loved your essay Zoey-- Barba,Elizabeth Taylor, The Beatles, and Susan Boyle- in my life, and just turned the BIG 6-0---in April-- those are the only "stars" who I bothered with all of these years- oh also Marilyn Monroe, but she passed away when I was so young, I didnt really discover her until i was much older

@ArielAZ; Include the "cripple" Tiberius Claudius Caesar Augustus Germanicus (Claudius I or "I Claudius" per Robert Grave's 1934 novel) born August 1, 10 B.C. in Lugdunum (Lyon, France) who arguably ranks as the second most important Roman Emperor next to Gaius Julius Caesar.

I think it was overload for BGT live tour to expect its performers to do 25 shows in 25 days. Other performers have taken days off.

If, for example, Susan normally goes to bed at 11 pm, she would now be getting to sleep in the middle of the night or dawn because a performer does not come down from the high of singing soon after the performance has ended. I suspect her normal sleep pattern is off. I would be physically ill if I had to go through this more than one night.

I suspect that the performers get on the bus in the early afternoon to travel to the next venue. Once they arrive, they likely need to have an early supper because they probably need to be at the venue by about 6 pm. Perhaps some, or all, of them are unable to eat since their adrenaline would be kicking in for the performance they will soon do.

The main reason entertainers take uppers and downers is because of trying to come down after a show but then having to get revved up for the next show. I once heard Johnny Cash describe this vicious circle that he had been caught up in.

Please Susan, take your rest and pace yourself. We all love you.

@SandraER; Excellent post. Understanding from number of recent press accounts that an M.D. or medical professional of some kind is "on the trail" with her I'd think she's being looked after daily. If Simon "helped" Susan in this regard I'll forgive him for anything else he's done "at" her so far.
Hi, villagers! We will be staying at the Happy Valley Inn in Blackburn from June 26 to July 2!! If you want to send a nice note or letter of blessing to the people of Blackburn, which we will hand-deliver to people in the pub, the community centre, or other Blackburn hot spots, just PM us with your message or letter and we will print it out! ♥♥

@JJ, thank you about my dog. That is a baby pic of BelBien's Remarkable Boy that was in a calendar. I helped deliver him and we've been joined at the hip since. He and one of my kitties love to listen to Susan. He wags when I play Cry Me A River over and over and over . . . :)

@Zoey, I remember that show with Judy and Barbra. As if it were yesterday. I thought they were so wonderful and you're right, Barbra has stood strong through all the bad press and Susan will, too.

Why do I love Susan? I actually loved her the minute I saw her on YouTube when she said she was going to rock that audience. She had me then, even before she sang. There was something so real and charismatic about her just at that instant that tears sprung to my eyes and I didn't doubt she would rock the audience. But when she opened her mouth, I couldn't believe how she let us see into her soul with that once-in-a-lifetime voice.

She had the guts to stand up there and be herself in a world that pressures we women into unmerciful cubbyholes and she soared. It never mattered to me if she won that contest or not. I knew there would be millions of us who would "get" her. She is fierce, funny, cheeky, very intelligent and has a way with words that is so interesting to listen to. She's someone I'd love to sit and knit with and listen to her talk on just about any subject while we sipped tea. There is real depth to that woman and it took all these years for it to be there, too.

I love her cheeks and eyes and smile. To me, she is very attractive, with or without makeup. I have frizzy, curly hair so I can relate. Any side of her is just fine with me because she is the real deal.

And @Aliz, hey, re: Huffington, thank you. I felt it needed to be said. Those people with their crude assumptions are completely unacceptable.

And tell them I pulled my shirt up and scratched my stomach while climbing down the fire escape ,then I ran around the block screaming "Simon ,Piers what have you done to our Susan! "

I would like to show up outside Susan's hotel or the BGT tour in a "Free Susan" t-shirt. I would have a camera and take pictures of the reporters who are hanging around. With lots of flashes in their eyes, to give them a taste of their own medicine. When they asked me what I was doing I would say it was for the "Hall of Shame".

I loved the embarassing moments section...posted above....Mine was in class, all students on the floor in groups...making graphs on huge graph papers....re my instructions - for fun - robots....areas, perimeters etc....no need to go into that...But when I was bending down to discuss a project with some of the boys....a sweet girl behind me said "Mrs. Grange...you have a split in your skirt"... I HAD forgotten that that particular skirt needed repairing and early that morning I was getting ready in a hurry as usual...risin at 6 a.m.

Little Willie (yes, that's his name)..came back quickly with "Hey, what colour is her underwear?" (ten year olds) I told the girl not to tell him... Most of the class, including myself, had a good giggle....the rest of the Math period was spent with some of my girls trying to staple the slit in my skirt together , ended up with pins from the school secretary. Honest...it really happended.

Zoey, thanks for writing about Barbara Steisand and the way you felt about her. A lovely tribute. I felt the same about Joan Sutherland, the opera singer and for years I couldn't stop listening to her records. Now I have Susan to listen to, and it is remarkable how she affects me. My family think I am a bit " off" but Susan has really changed my life, given me another focus, and I hope I don't leave this earth without having heard her at least once in person. Susan Boyle, you have so many people standing beside you, supporting you. We love you, Susan

I'M DREAMING A DREAM...And Here It Is......It's What I'll Call The Susan Boyle Parties....Here's what it entails. ...on the date of Susan Boyles CD being released INTERNATIONALLY to the world ON THAT VERY DAY thousands of Susan Boyle parties take place all around the world. Here's how it would work although there could be some variations, people can do as they please but I would suggest that a host of a Susan Boyle Party they would have at least 7 persons come to their home who have given their money to them [the host] beforehand to pick up their new Susan Boyle CD and they would be distributed to all at the party. At the party the CD can be listened to, the audition tape and perhaps others. Im sure many would agree it would not be too hard to ask their friends or neighbours if they'd be interested in coming to such an event as many would be intrigued of wanting to buy her new CD anyway.

Now as the date approaches the media would be talking about this global event for that's what we can make it. When it's reported how many Susan parties will be taking place around the world one has to wonder if the sales of her CD will even more so go through the roof perhaps breaking records for any entertainer. I would say the British tabloids have had their say, some of the British people who didn't support Susan have had their say, but now ladies and gentlemen of the world isn't it time we stood up and said our piece ? They've cast their votes and now its about time that we cast ours. I would like to believe that future generations will look back and acknowledge that many in the world did the right thing by refusing to put up with the demeaning of a good person and an incredibly great talent who blessed the world and should receive the proper recognition for doing so. At the "Susan Party" you can have a cake with her name on it or something like "I Dreamed A Dream" to encourage all others to reach out for their potential. A petition can be taken up with all present signing it insisting that the UN award her the Nobel Peace Prize.

If Al Gore can receive it for his work in environmentalism why couldn't Susan receive the same for providing great inspiration to the world at a time when it most desparately needed it ? No this is not about hero worship or failing to show balance and perspective ....we do recognize that Susan is mere mortal like the rest of us......but if many in the world can have their annual every year Super Bowl party celebrating the throwing of a pig skin in the air [American football] then why can't a great many at least show a ONE TIME recognition to a talent who has caused all spirits to soar and who leads us to believe that anything is possible....I Dreamed A Dream....Will You Dream Along With Me ? My wife and I are going to have a Susan Boyle party on the day of her CD release....any of you good fine people care to do the same? Who knows...this might even be part of a Susan Boyle movie...the final chapter of what the world has to say about it . :-)

AMMO, your experience reminds me of the time I was working in the District Clerk's office, County Courthouse. Mini-skirts/dresses were kinda new and I wasn't accustomed to navigating in them. The Clerk's office was a huge one usually full of attorney's, judges, etc. It was a busy time when I stooped over in my purple mini-dress to place a file in its drawer....with my back to the whole office full of people. Yessireee! They told me about that REAL quick! LOL!

BROOKLYN BLESSINGS, I'd LOVE to send a supportive note along to Susan, but I can't access this site's message features. It's been removed from my profile.
@Bobber2; The "global event" is the day Susan goes "Diamond" (10,000,000 sales) on her first CD Album per RIAA Certification (see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RIAA_certifications).

Theoritically, Susan's already gone 5 x 2,000,000 Digital Double Platinum just on her original BGT performance via YouTube, not ONE PENNY of which she's profited from, anybody else for that matter - astounding!

What's this about Wimbledon? I've been out and about all day, enjoying nice summer weather! Anyway, it makes more sense that Susan might be resting up to sing "God Save the Queen" for the opening of Wimbledon than to believe that she's been getting stuck in revolving doors and standing out on balconies screaming for her cat. :-P If somebody gets a video of Susan singing there, please post it ASAP!
@Bohemian Spirit, re. my earlier post above; Am PRAYING for Susan to sing something - ANYTHING - new, THIS website would exploded in pandemonium if she'd did!

My most embarrassing moment. I was a junior sales rep in international sales for my company. It was the mid 80s when China was first opening up. I was entertaining a group from Beijing.

I'm from the Boston area and they asked me to take them to a place where they could eat something indigenous to Boston. I took them to a high class restaurant for lobster.

Before I could teach them how to crack open the shells with the nut crackers, they started ripping the claws off the lobsters and eat them shell and all. They then proceeded to spit the shells out onto the table and floor.

Within 15 minutes we had a pile of lobster shells 10 inches high on the table and the surrounding floor. All the tables sitting next to us promptly got up and left.

After paying the bill, and on my way out, the restaurant manager pulled me aside and explained that I was not welcome in that restaurant ever again!!!

We really do need "FREE SUSAN" T-shirts. It's an appropriate in-your-face "salute" to all who have made Susan's transition from village girl to global superstar more difficult that it needs to be.

Bobber2: I think your dream scenario is entirely do-able. This is precisely how Barack Obama galvanized a good any voters. There were more than 200,000 "house parties" in the weeks leading up to Election Day. How much fun would this be -- and what a kick in the pants to the media skeptics! Let's be there!

Most embarrassing moment - Teaching a large class of children at our riding academy outside Chicago, I was tired of having kids let their horses stop and get down to roll and scratch their backs. (Itchy little problem with livery horses in the summer.) I pompously mounted a notorious "roller" and told the kids I would show them how to keep their horse moving forward and not put its head down to roll. My "roller", at almost a trot with his head high as could be, dropped to the ground under me, much to the glee of my class. Face red and britches muddy and not so pompous after that.
@Bohemian Spirit; She'll be singing before Her Majesty The Queen (see this for listing of all her titles: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_titles_and_honours_of_Queen_Elizabeth_II) SOONER than all of us think, particularly as I DO think The Queen has a personal liking of her.

Everybody is sharing their most embarrassing moments -- I don't know if I can share mine and NOT be totally embarrassed all over again! I wasn't feeling well this particular Sunday morning, -- had a cold along with an upset digestive system, but my husband and I went to church anyway - I think there was something special going on that morning. After church, we were standing in the foyer talking to another couple (I was anxious to get home and get out of the pantyhose that were becoming increasingly uncomfortable as my digestive unrest progressed. All of a sudden I had a horrific sneeze -- and the pent-up gas I had been squeezing my butt cheeks to hold was noisily forced out. My husband and the other couple didn't quite know what to do, so I just kept on talking as if nothing had happened. The incident haunts me to this day -- some 30 years later!

Howdy Brooklyn Blessings,

My gosh, have a wonderful time in Blackburn, West Lothian and please pass on the following from an ol' cowhand down Louisiana way to the folks in Susan's Pub...

Howdy Folks,

Gotta be kinda funny, a whole town gettin' fan letters from halfway around the world. But, this here is one from an ol' cowhand down Louisiana way...at the South end of the mighty Mississippi River...a place called New Orleans.

First let me say to the owner of the Pub where Susan sang that your television interview a couple months back was absolutely fantastic. I loved your answer when asked how the town was reactin' to all the press coveage... "Gosh, we've been brushin' our teeth for a whole week!" If I hadn't fallen in love with your town before then, I sure did when you said that! My kinda town...

Well, ya gotta right to be downright proud. That wee lassie that sang in your Pub has now captured the hearts of millions of folks throughout the world. And as we've learned more and more about the nice folks in Blackburn, we've grown rather fond of your village...and the folks who live there.

We've noticed things, like that Council man building Susan a new gate for her fence. We've noticed the local paper sharin' Susan's fanmail with her over the phone. And, we've noticed her friends and neighbors sayin' "Just let the lassie sing!"

Well, God Bless you folks. And thank you for sharin' with the whole world someone mighty special indeed. The lady deliverin' this message is a member of Susan's world wide fan site, as am I, and over 23,300 others! Our fans site has been growin' each and every day...it'll be even bigger by the time you get this.

Blackburn has good reason to be mighty proud...and we send you folks all the best. Adios for now. Talk to ya on down the trail.

Wild Ol' Dan

Okay, I rarely make off-topic posts, so hopefully I won't get slammed for this one. It's a joke that I was reminded of after reading GritsT's embarassing moment.

A woman is riding on a bus when she feels a huge gas bubble in her butt. She tries to hold it in, but it's getting harder and harder. There is music playing on the bus though, so she thinks, "Ah, okay, I'll time the 'expulsions' with the loud parts." She does this 4 or 5 times, synchronizing some very loud and long expulsions with the crescendos in the music. As the bus nears her stop, the woman heads to the front and notices people giving her very strange looks. It is only after she gets off the bus that she realizes.....she was listening to her iPod!

Maybe it is in BGT's contract that she sang the same 2 songs that she sang in the audition and semi final for BGT LIVE TOUR. If we are really genuine fans of Susan there shouldnt be any explosion in pandemonium if she still sing the same songs on the ongoing BGT live tour. The real fans will support her all the way no matter what. And will not pay lip service. Anyone who had in mind thinking of explosion in pandemonium in this website if she still sing the same songs are equavilent to the tabloids who had nothing to do but critising only. They are even worse than our enemy, the british tabloids and other media. The purpose of us here is to fully support Susan with all our hearts and minds no matter what. Long live Susan! Someone was talking about whimsy.

Has anyone seen “The Enchanted Cottage”? Our national broadcaster used to play old BW movies in the early hours of the morning. That’s how I saw it. It was a lovely movie.

Plot from Wikipedia:

“When Oliver Bradford (Robert Young) is disfigured by war wounds, he hides from his family (Spring Byington) and fiancée (Hillary Brooke), renting a cottage from Mrs. Minnett (Mildred Natwick). Laura Pennington (Dorothy McGuire) is a shy, homely maid who tidies up the place. Oliver and Laura gradually fall in love and discover that their feelings for each other have mysteriously transformed them. He appears handsome to her, and she seems beautiful to him. This is only perceived by the two lovers (and the audience), not by others. Laura comes to believe that the cottage is "enchanted" because it was once often rented to honeymoon couples."

We never thought that Susan was in any way ugly in appearance or spirit, but because others write such toxic stuff and many don’t like her, I wonder if we are living in some kind of ‘enchanted village’, where we see and hear such beauty coming from Susan? Do you have to have special ears and eyes? Or is it life experience?

@Boylemania Opps! Check back. The post suggested that if she DID sing something new the pandemonium would break out. Not if she sang the two she apparently has to. I understand how easy it is to misread all this small print. Your heart is in the right place though and clearly you will defend our star through thick and thin.

I have this e-mail problem also. I don't have the envelope in my profile. I think because I was an early member, in April. Yet I have received e-mails from others. I click on the response link to them and ask them to reply. Then I get an e-mail address from them and I put them in my addresses with their real names and then send a regular reply so that they get my name and e-mail address.

I e-mailed Paul (SusanBoyleFan at the top of the comments portal on the home page) twice in the past two days, asking him to please put the envelope on my profile because I think there are others like me who don't know how to send that first e-mail otherwise.

I still can't figure out how people e-mailed me in the first place.

If you look at your own profile the blue envelope doesn't appear which makes sense. However if you look at other people's profiles, a few of them because maybe some people don't want a blue envelope and you don't see any blue envelopes anywhere then yes there could be a problem.

Embarrassing moments. Mine happened when I was 17 years old and working as a waitress at a local Howard Johnson's Restaurant. This was in 1969 and back then your hair had to be either cut short like a boys almost, or you had to wear these god awful hair nets. I have very long hair so everyday after school and before work I would gather it all up, put it on top of my head, and place a nylon stocking over it to keep it there. I then put on a wig to wear to work. Wigs were also very popular at that time. Well it was a Friday nite and Friday nites were exhausting. We had standing line all evening, out the door and around the building. We never stopped running. We also had those big coat racks beside every table where people hung their coats and hats. I was very tired and standing at a table taking an order when I got a little to close to the coat rack. I left the table in a hurry to turn their order in to the kitchen and barely felt something pull on my head. I paid no attention to it at all as I was to busy to even care. Until, the whole entire dining room busted out laughing and every single person there was looking at me. I stopped dead in my tracks. Back on that coat rack hung my wig and there I stood with a hideous panty hose on top of my head. I looked like a moron. I wanted to die. But, I made really good tips that night. Goodness, even people I had not waited on gave me tips for providing the entertainment. Its been a long time ago. 40 years and I have never forgotten it

@ArielAZ, I'm not sure we can see the blue envelope on our own profiles. I know I never had it, yet can send and receive emails from you guys. Though sometimes it does seem to take an hour or more til they show up.

@TXNoelle: Nope, haven't gotten yours yet, but as I said, sometimes it takes awhile. Got to say g'nite now, but I'll let you know tomorrow if it shows up!
Posted by GritsT on June 20, 2009
I don't have the blue envelope on my profile either.

Oh mclim, that's too funny!!!! Howard Johnson's, that elicits great memories for me, we always stayed and ate there on our summer vacations to the US. Still crave the HOJO clam roll, sigh....

@ArielAZ

LOL....a smart lady like you hasn't figured out yet how to send an email. I bet you feel stupid now! Just kidding.
Just did my nightly Google Susan Boyle news scans for posting on the "Travel Pod" website (re. my earlier post), this link put up little over an hour ago:

http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/columnists/mcintosh/2009/06/21/blame-britain-s-got-talent-not-sad-susan-boyle-115875-21458533/

has a decent photo of Susan blowing a kiss to the audience; don't know at all if it or another similar has been posted on Susan-Boyle.com. The op. article isn't offensive in MY opinion BTW.

MCLIM, I'm laffin' here, chere, over your wig anecdote. I jerked mine off on purpose in a nightclub one night, but my tips didn't increase at all. Lucky you! LOL!

There are a couple of people who apparently have asked that their "blue envelope" be disabled,---so they can't receive messages. Old Dan may be one of them. But if you go to most other people's profile pages, there's a blue box and you can message them through that. If I go to my own profile page, I don't see the blue box, though. Other people can click on my page and get it,---but I guess you can't see it on your own page. At least that's been MY experience.
Posted by ArielAZ on June 20, 2009
Casey'sMom: so if other people look at my profile, they see the Send Me A Message link. I just don't see it when I check my own profile. But it is there??

Yes, the blue envelopes on other peep's profiles are to send them a message to their email. BTW, I *did* have a blue envelope on my profile that I could see before I lost the ability to send messages here.

Aroseblush: you know by now that I'm too smart for my own good.
Posted by bibi _ 36 on June 20, 2009
WAMcKinley, yes, that must be it. I think that's why I was first interested in Susan. Her singing was very good, but it wasn't the sort of music I normally listen to. It was her pluckiness and courage and humour that engaged me at first.

Being "speed challenged", as Ponylady has so charmingly put it(cracked me up that did), I don't download much in the way of youtubes at all. Teesiel's were the first since Susan's first bgt appearance that I'd listened to. The sound was so good that I began to understand why everyone finds her voice so thrilling. There's something about it that verges on the numinous - as with all great singers. It's mysterious.

@ Teesiel. Thank you so very much. Now I 'get it' ... what everyone is raving about ... thanks to your videos.

Posted by aroseblush on June 20, 2009
ArielAZ....I will remember in the future that you said that. ROFLOL
Posted by PIGGIE on June 20, 2009
@WAM: That's correct. When you go to your account, there is a question "Allow community members to contact you" where you can enter yes or no. If you've said no, then obviously you are not going to be able to receive messages.

@ArielAZ: See above. If you checked off "yes" next to "allow community members to contact you" then others should be able to send you mail. I just checked and you do have the blue envelope.

Posted by Casey'smom on June 20, 2009
Yes, ArielAZ, it's there, you can't see it in your own profile like I can't see my blue envelope in mine, why would I be sending myself an e-mail, I guess is the point. Not trying to be a smarty pants because I thought the same thing originally when I looked at my profile and checked other people's profiles and the blue envelope was there and then realized, okay, now it makes sense that I can't see it in my profile. I'm very new at this myself, never was part of a fansite, have only had a personal computer for about 2 months...

Hitting the sack for the night, folks. As always, have enjoyed "listening in" on your conversations and occasionally contributing. Many smiles and outright laughs tonight.

Let's keep our fingers crossed that whatever Susan decides to do with respect to the Sunday shows, her decision is respected by all. No booing if she performs and no backbiting if she doesn't. Let's invite the media to put themselves in her place: unknown to known-by-all (and criticized by press hacks) in a few short weeks. How would they handle it? Better than Susan? (And, I have a bridge to sell you...)

Good night, and God bless - Ruth
Posted by ArielAZ on June 20, 2009
Yes, Lord bless me, I clicked the box. But how was I to know the blue envelope would never materialize for me. One shouldn't play tricks on paranoid people. However, I have been enlightened and now I must rely on trust. If I continue to get e-mails from my witty peers than I shall know I remain activated and that the blue envelope exists in an alternate universe. That is all I ask. I sent Paul my apologies for bothering him.
Posted by aroseblush on June 20, 2009
I have news. I have seen the new forum for the Susan Boyle site. It is amazing, very sophisticated, and must have taken Paul days to put it all together. It's very thorough, and its going to take some getting used to. Very large site. Lots of threads.
Posted by any on June 20, 2009
Defending Susan: @ArielAZ, It will not be a lot of work. Example: I can collect the web sites with positive/negative news about Susan & post them daily. Then others can post comments on those web sites. First we can focus on the 10 biggest names in the news industry. Then we can grow up our list of sites. If every one of those 10 sites gets some 100 comments in Susan's interest daily, that will help. It is the same news on all sites. If you can not articulate something fast, you can copy/paste your comments on different sites. A lot of things can be done. Please help spread the word.

Posted by IvoryMist on June 20, 2009

Good question IvoryMist, I was going to ask that too!
Posted by TXNoelle on June 20, 2009
YAY, I can now send and recv messages from the fansite!

Okay, I'll tell yall about the "Trumpet Butt" incident and I just remembered it was in KMart before WalMart came on the scene. My kids were young, pre-teens. We were browsing one of those sales tables in KMart when one of those pfffttts! snuck up on me. There was only one other man browsing there on the other side of the table. I tried bravely to hold it back, but it wouldn't cooperate and in the clench, it wound up sounding like a long high squeal from a trumpet.

My kids RAN from the table!!!! (p'ing my big girl panties here just thinkin' about it) The man frowned and glared at me, so I just put on my innocent, not doin' nothin' face and continued to browse, then slid away quietly in a bit.

Ruth Stated :This is precisely how Barack Obama galvanized a good any voters. There were more than 200,000 "house parties" in the weeks leading up to Election Day. How much fun would this be -- and what a kick in the pants to the media skeptics! Let's be there!

My Response: Thanks for your reponse Ruth and i didn't know that Obama actually did that....interesting....but im not sure how I could galvanize Susan Boyle fans...maybe they don't think its a good idea or maybe my three long paragraphs they thought they'd skip by that I put down above....anybody who would consider examining my last post above I would sincerely appreicate it though not because I need my self esteem stroked but I do think the idea has potential and would like to hear people opinions. Thankyou kindly if you good people would. :-)

Hey, Bobber2,

Before turning in, wanted to give you some more information. Obama's campaign built a big e-mail list and invited people on the list to host "house parties." The campaign provided some support in the way of pre-written invitations and so forth, as well as getting news coverage. To build on your concept, we could think of some subset of the members of this fansite to be analogous to Obama's e-mail list -- we'd be the supporters who would host the house parties to celebrate the release of Susan's CD. A few talented people on this site could volunteer to play a role similar to Obama's campaign staff -- doing the PR and providing support to members hosting parties.

It's fun to think about small house parties happening more or less simultaneously from coast to coast to honor Susan! -

Ruth

Posted by wenvas on June 20, 2009
In response to the many comments (on previous blog) expressing horror at the thought of Susan having to return to her poverty striken, nightmarish(?) life in Blackburn, it might be wise to consider her own thoughts on this before deciding for ourselves what's best for her.

quote: Given her popularity in the US, could she be tempted by a move to New York or Los Angeles? “Oh no, I am going to stay in Blackburn, West Lothian. This is where I belong. My family is here and they are a great support to me. They are right behind me but they also keep my feet firmly on the ground.”

It would also be good to acknowledge the fact that the FIRST THING she planned to do with her money (when she gets some) was to purchase her home in Blackburn.

Posted by aroseblush on June 20, 2009
Paul does not want members on the site until he has finished it...IvoryMist...it is still a work in progress. He spoke to me in an email because I applied as a moderator. He sent me the link to have a look see around.

@aroseblush - Are you officially speaking for Paul, now? I thought you were just one of the (many) members, and a fairly new one at that, compared to some of the "old-timers," but it looks to me in your recent posts that you have assumed a role as a representative of or liaison for Paul on this site. Maybe I missed something in the zillions of comments where this was announced? Just wondering, and feeling a bit confused, here.

Bohemian Spirit: Calm down. I am not usurping anyone's position on this site. At the top of this blog there is a notification from the site administrator, Paul. Maybe you should read that, and it will clear up any misconceptions
Posted by mdillow31 on June 20, 2009
@Bohemian Spirit, I was wondering the same thing.

@Aroseblush, you just joined the fan club just recently. Are you a liaison for Paul ?? There seems to be a lot of confusion and secrecy here. Since this fan club started a long time ago I don't think the members should like being kept in the dark especially since many have donated their money to support this fan club. So, what is your story ??
Posted by Bohemian Spirit on June 20, 2009
@aroseblush - I wasn't upset. I was just trying to figure out why suddenly you're doing a lot of posting speaking for Paul, that's all. I'm not on the site 24/7, so I thought maybe there was something in the comments that I missed that explained why you were speaking for Paul. In the past, he usually speaks for himself, either in the original blog post (which I read, but it didn't say anything about you one way or another) or in the comments section.

@Lovebites at 3-something p.m. ~ I really appreciate your introspection on why Susan Boyle has not only touched your heart but also motivated you to act ~ at the very least, by participating in this Fan Site. I think a lot of us Villagers feel the same. It's hard to explain to people who have not yet moved into the Village.

@TXNoelle, don't feel bad. I think I upset someone because I posted way earlier about planting Bachelor Buttons in honor of Tommy along with Blushing Susies in my planter boxes in honor of Susan because they remind me of her. I guess we can't make everyone happy.

And while I have you gracious Southern Ladies attention, tell me the best recipe for Pecan Pralines that you know, please??? There aren't too many people here right now so they may not get angry with us. LOL

@ML - Don't know much about Southern cooking, but Pecan Pralines sounds GOOD! :-D

@TXNoelle - No, 'cause Venus Fly Traps only eat MEAT. :-P Though it's doubtful that anything in Haggis could be classified as "meat," so....

BohemianSpirit: It's simple, I applied as a moderator for the new site. Paul emailed me back with his thoughts, and sent me info on the new site. End of story. The fact that I am a somewhat a new member has nothing to do with it, or does it? Not trying to 'ruffle feathers' here, simply trying to help this site grow and mature for the sake of Susan Boyle.

@aroseblush - OK, you applied to be a moderator, and Paul gave you thoughts and a preview link for the new forum. So then Paul has authorized you to represent him and his wishes in the comments here? The relevancy of being a new member is that usually new members don't assert themselves strongly towards the members who've already been in a place for a while; and since your recent comments have come across as strongly assertive, I thought maybe you had been placed in some kind of official "leadership" or "authority" role that I'd not been made aware of. It'd probably go over more smoothly if it had been officially announced, first, instead of someone with no previously-apparent connection to Paul suddenly asserting what "should" or "shouldn't" be done and what Paul wants or doesn't want. That's all.
@Wild Ol' Dan and ponylady and BethInTheUSA...Thanks for your great messages to Blackburn. They are in the packet.

I have just returned from Piers Blog, where I have posted another letter to let him know I have a very low tolerance for the media hype and that he'd better call his boys and tell them "enough is enough". But I have come to the conclusion regarding the role of a publicist, representing any celebtrity, whether it be Susan or someone else, their only interest is how many headlines can be generated either good or bad, the more exposure one has to the eyes of the general public, the more likely they will achieve fame. It's just one big publicity game, and Susan has to resign to cope with this if she wants to stay up in the limelight. It's all about numbers, they want to keep up the interest in Susan, so that she sells more CD's for them. You can say, BGT is using Susan, but if you want to look at it this way Susan can use BGT to make her dream come true...to be a professional singer and record CD's.

Why is Simon providing Susan with a London flat, 4 limo drivers to confuse the press...is this to protect her. You might also look at this way...the more he shields her from the press (won't let her be photographed before, during, after the shows)and keeps her hidden, the harder these mosquerls are going to work to find a story line, even if they have to invent the wheel. In the meantime, the publicist is sitting back jumping up and down for joy...more headlines, more headlines...not always good for Susan Boyle. I believe that she will tough it out and pretty soon she's going to be in better contol of her own situation and destiny, which is our CD's. Susan, please, lots of different CD's, DVD's, Christmas CD's,

@TXNoelle - You know, stuffed portabella mushroom caps sounds very tasty. ;-) I should check one of those PETA sites or something, I'll bet they'd have veggie Haggis if anyone did. Heh. "Cruelty Free Haggis," or something like that--though if it tastes like the original, that probably wouldn't be a very truthful label, would it.

BTW, I had no idea Praline Pecans were so easy to make! Not exactly health food, but you know, moderation in all things, especially tasty sweet snacks. ;-) Thanks for the link!

@ TX Noelle, the thing about Haggis - there is a lot of mythology surrounding it. For one, that haggis comes from mountain sheep that have legs shorter on 1 side than the other (Im not at all sure how that creates the extra flavour of...well probably not the best site to talk about cooking xyz from a sheep). All I honestly know is that I have to drink half a bottle of whisky to eat a haggis.

Yes, I do have TTC fortunately. Wimbledon starts around 3:00 am my time on ESPN2 and the only way I get to catch up is after work with TTC. TTC's recaps of the days activities is just super.

I have a feeling Andy Murray will take the Scottish headlines away from Susan for the next 2 weeks...if he makes it that long...and she'll get a nice rest from imposing press.

Susan Boyle: I'll get back on stage By Suzannah Hills 21/06/2009

EXCLUSIVE

Exhausted singing sensation Susan Boyle feels she is letting her fans down by missing Britain's Got Talent stage shows.

She has missed four this week - but has vowed to make a comeback at today's Wembley gig.

A spokeswoman said yesterday: "Susan's still very tired - but she is really excited about the show and can''t wait to get back on stage.

"If she were told she couldn't perform it would break her heart."

Advertisement - article continues below »

And after missing the tour shows the 48-year-old star from West Lothian got a boost from dance group Diversity, who beat her in the TV final.

Dancer Jordan Banjo, 16, said: "Susan is the main attraction here on the tour - everyone wants to see her.

"When she's singing I just stand at the side of the stage and watch her sing - she's amazing.

Just to get back (brifly) to Susan for a moment, if I may. I was just checking the news reports for today to see if there's any definate news that she will actually be performing today (Sunday). I had my doubts as I assume she'd rather not work on a Sunday...Catholic tradition etc..

I couldn't find anything, but did find a small article (part of which I've pasted here) in the Mirror.co.uk that was, surprisingly, tipped in Susan's favor...thank God! Perhaps the letters from Susan's fans have forced a re-think on the part of these tabloids? Let's hope so!

quote from article: Why she is even on that gruelling tour after her brief spell in The Priory is beyond belief. Yet a BGT boss says: "It's a shame for fans, but Susan's health comes first."

Does it? Surely if Susan's health came first she'd be at home in West Lothian with her cat, her family and her friends, hundreds of miles from that BGT circus. But think of all that lovely cash they'd miss out on...

Fran M, thanks for the article...very nice to see Diversity has such respect for her!
Posted by CatsAloud on June 20, 2009
@TXNoelle For a vegi Haggis - should try and use some moutain mushrooms and fauna from the Highlands. After all, that is what the highland sheep eat in the first place. Yep, I am not Jamie Oliver or any other guru TV chef, but that would be my suggestion. :)
Posted by Bohemian Spirit on June 20, 2009
@CatsAloud - I agree, I'd like to see Susan have some songs written especially for her and for her voice. There are plenty of "standards" that would be wonderful to hear, too, but I think that my "songlist" would be original material for her.

I don't live in the Highlands, CATS. If I did, I'd probably do that. The Southern USA version of Haggis in honor of Susan Boyle would hafta be made with "fixin's" from the South here, chere.

Fran M. The Daily Mirror is a tabloid and I believe the DM was the paper who first published the cat rant story. You will find another story in there by Fiona McIntosh at www.mirror.co.uk/news/top-stories/2009/06/21/blame-bgt-not-sad-susan-115875-21458934/ I am a Brit and I very rarely buy papers these days because of the rubbish that is them. If i do buy a paper it is usually the Times or Guardian. If Susan does sing today, i just hope the crowd will be as good to her as they have been. Good luck Susan and my thoughts are with you.

I live in a very nice community in Southern California that was founded by a Scottish family. It is a middle to upper-middle class community with quite a few secluded estates. I would love it if Susan bought a house here. People here leave you alone (we have some celebrities that live here) and it is far enough away from Los Angeles, about 25 miles, to be out of the rat race and close enough to the city to be handy for recordng studios. It's a pip dream, I know, but Susan should check out Glendora, Ca when looking for a second home. I know, I know, just a daydream, but I love the woman dearly! I am forever a member of the "Sue Crew".

The Caledonian Kitchen Vegetarian Haggis

And a recipe from Allrecipes.com:

Vegetarian Haggis Recipe

Some of the reviewers say it doesn't really taste like Haggis, but perhaps that's a good thing. ;-)

And another recipe, from the Vegetarian Society UK:

A Veggie Haggis for a Burns' Night Feast!

There appear to be many more links on that Google search; you can check them out for yourselves, if you so desire. ;-)

OK, since this has been sort of a girls night out tonight, I thought I'd share a link to a site related to Susan's future clothes. A lot of designers have been salivating over the idea of dressing Susan, and apparently one called Marc Jacobs got the job. Here's the link to some of his collections:http://www.style.com/fashionshows/review/S2009RTW-MJACOBS He is supposed to be designing clothes that are sexy, but age-appropriate.

There's a little red number at the bottom in the middle that might look good on Susan with the hem lower. I can just see Simon holding the promise of designer clothes out as an incentive for work-outs & weight reduction, But how on earth could he get them to agree on a size that she'd end up with? Jacobs' models are so anorexic they look sick.

Tweek, for anyone interested in how Max Clifford works, there’s a documentary available on YouTube that DJG-Scotland mentioned yesterday (I think). It was made by Louis Theroux quite a while back, before Simon was the ‘name’ he is now. Clifford was supposed to be defending Cowell against certain tabloid allegations at that time. http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=PnVNEEFWhb8

It affords an interesting (and humorous) insight into the mind of Max. He and Louis play a game of cat and mouse with each other all the way through. Louis’ usual technique is to give people enough rope with which to hang themselves – for anyone unfamiliar with his docos. They only began to be shown in Australia recently that I’m aware of.

So, the Clifford forte is supposed to be defending people against wildly untruthful or malicious press coverage. Ironic in Susan’s case, in view of what’s happening. These puppet masters should be seen to be trying to protect her public image, even if the press has a huge amount of freedom to print what they like. Clifford has done it for many of his clients, including Cowell.

A good designer can dress anyone. Look at Bob Mackie. He's designed designer gowns to the character outfits Carol Burnett work, and has designed for Cher, Liza, Tina Turner, Lucille Ball, Jada Pinkett Smith, Elton John, Oprah, etc.

@Irish Latta,

I don't know about Andy Murray taking the spotlight away from our Susan at Wimbledon. I hope Susan shows since she will be in London and Wimbledon starts Monday. If she is there I will be able to get photos of her. Hopefully I can get more information on that from Billy Jean to find out if it is true or not. :)
Posted by Bohemian Spirit on June 20, 2009
@tweek - Susan is Scottish. Haggis is Scottish. It's the Scottish Connection at work. ;-) That, and it's the middle of the night on Saturday, and we're trying to keep things light, at least as light as Haggis can be. *thud*
Posted by Bohemian Spirit on June 20, 2009
@mdillow31 - Didn't someone say that all the BGT acts have Monday off? So quite possibly it is true, since Wimbledon starts on the day Susan has off. After several days of rest, she should be in fine form! We'll be waiting to hear what you find out.

@ posters on veggi Haggis. That is a complete revelation :) I never new. I will check em out. I still think you need to import the original ingredients from Scotland to ensure it a genuine veggie Haggis (otherwise you will have the EU and Scottish trade authorities complaining and there will be a new trade war between US and Scotland..hehe). Of course I jest :)

I can understand that this tour must be very demanding - it entails a lot of travelling around the country as every day is a different venue...I am keeping all things crossed though as I have tickets to see the show in Cardiff on July 4th and I've bought them only for Susan.

Its nail biting really as I've watched the vids and think I'll be there in person soon... but its not guaranteed...

@sassyone -I think I stick with cock a leakie, bubble and squeak, poached cod and eggs (although are there now Cajun versions of those?). I can see a new dream restaurant plan here - Scottish Cajun - a winner?

@mdillow31 - I believe BGT has two performances in Wembley on Sunday, then a day off on Monday, and Wimbledon opens on Monday. So, hey, keep your fingers crossed. If it happens, I expect we'll be hearing about it.

@wenvas. Deep fried crispy mars bars as a national cuisine in Scotland. Hmmm, high road to heart disease at an early age. May be that explains the relatively poor life expectancy of Scottish citizens in the developed world.

Holy Moly! I asked for a new blog last night, go off to my kip, and wake up on this bright and sunny West Lothian morning and on the longest day and what do I find....? A new blog with already well over 500 posts!!! "Gee us the forum and quick as you like, Paul, before this fansite is taken over by the fashionistas and the cordon bluers! Only joking, girls! Only 74 'online', so I suppose that most of you are now tucked up in bed. Sweet dreams! More seriously (just for a minute) I hope that Susan is now well rested and and has cut a few demo tracks for her upcoming album, for that's what I think she may have been doing over the last three days. Of course, I can't be sure of that - just a feeling. Anyway, she WILL rock them this afternoon and tonight, despite a report that whilst she 'wants to appear and not let her fans down, she says that she is still a bit tired'. Can't wait for the new videos and reports from Wembley. Just hope that everything goes well for her and for the rest of the stars. Nice comment here this morning from one of the dancers of Diversity who wishes Susan well and who says that all the guys are "awestruck" when they watch her sing. Nice that. My regard for that band of guys grows even stronger and their comment might make the audience today and tonight pay her much greater respect as a result. Off to do my chores - it's 9 am and it's even warm out there!
Posted by sassyone on June 21, 2009
stevieboy49 her handlers are so tight lipped about her whereabouts. I hope she is well, and ready for today's first performance. Lets hope she gets a nice warm welcoming. OK, time for me to count sheep, as I am 8hrs behind you guys.

:) and also, my wee one is celebrating her birthday tomorrow.

@CatsAloud **Deep fried crispy mars bars**

Not something I (or my scottish inlaws) ever indulged in to my knowledge? Fish & Chips with mushy peas was a favourite though.

What a beautiful summer sunday! I just discovered a new video site called: "Fliggo". Here it is possible to upload videos you like! And of course I dedicated a site for our Susan!

CatsAloud LOL I'll leave you and TxNoelle to plan the menu, I'll just be the chef. I love to cook and I can whip up a mean bubble and squeak. My best friend's mum came from Glasgow, and she is an amazing cook. I remember her kings cake, she would hide a prize and one lucky person would win it. Fun times. Fun! I will have to come up with other recipes tomorrow as I'm off to slumberland. Niters.

To Wenvas, and CatsAloud, I used to work in a Fish n'Chips shop, I got to learn how to make mushy peas properly. It was great fun. I also cooked jugged kippers, and with poached eggs, and pickled herrings. MY GOD I feel so fat just thinking about those foods.

ok dudes, Canadians created Nanimo Bars, which is god sent food. but Scottish people rule the world with this recipe. Deep Fried Mars Bars

On the site http://www.express.co.uk/search/susan%20boyle/ are listed 6 current negative articles in a row about Susan, and of the six only one allows comments. On that page the public comments are setting the record straight--the article "Sorry Susan" or something like that. Apparently the site didn't want the fact-stating to continue so they blocked comments on the others, because all other articles that I checked out allowed comments. For those of you who seem to think, if I'm getting it right, that we are making too much of this--it is Simon Cowell who authored two of the articles, two days in a row, where he is turning against Susan in some rather blatant misrepresentations, as if he had not said very clearly and repeatedly things he has said. He is misrepresenting, and he is important. I think if we keep standing up for truth where we can, reasonably, clearly and relatively politely, truth will gradually succeed. On that site they also choose the worst photos of Susan they can find.

@sassyone, @wendas - crispie mars bars as a traditional scottish recipe on that Scottish cooking site..its like a recipe for genocide. Kippers, pickled herrings, mushy peas and poached eggs - real healthy scottish cuisine :)
Posted by CatsAloud on June 21, 2009
@sassyone - need to lay off the cake, but Scotland certainly makes the best cake in the world :)
Posted by wenvas on June 21, 2009
@sassyone - It's been 30 years since my (scottish) husband and I divorced and I'm not sure anymore how to make mushy peas. I seem to recollect that there was onion in them, but not sure now, will have to check.

I followed a strict Ayurvedic (vegetarian) diet for 20 yrs (after the divorce) but then chronic health problems, including anaemia led me back to a more traditional Aussie diet.
Posted by CatsAloud on June 21, 2009
@sassyone Kippers, pickled herrings, mushy peas and poached eggs, is real healthy food. I add carrots in to the mushy peas with yoghurt.
Posted by stevieboy49 on June 21, 2009
Without wishing to add too much fuel to this debate about my country's culinary skills and diet, we do not all eat Deep Fried Mars Bars (I have never tasted one and have no wish to) and mushy peas are far more commonly eaten in England than they are North of the border! I do try to eat healthily. I eat fish three times per week, mainly oily fish which is high in Omega 3 and extremely good for you. I don't eat rubbish but I do confess to a liking for haggis and mince and tatties and the steak pie made locally is to die for! Meanwhile, back on the subject which draws us all here, typical of the Express - it derides Susan and then prevents us from commenting. So much for freedom of the Press and I, naively, thought that I was living in a democracy, not Iran! Sorry if that comes across as too strong, but sometimes my blood just boils at the garbage that spews out from these rags. And anyway, I thought that we had been instructed to ignore the tabbies!? Rant over - more chores to do!

From the Daily Mirror: Exhausted singing sensation Susan Boyle feels she is letting her fans down by missing Britain's Got Talent stage shows.

She has missed four this week - but has vowed to make a comeback at today's Wembley gig.

A spokeswoman said yesterday: "Susan's still very tired - but she is really excited about the show and can''t wait to get back on stage.

"If she were told she couldn't perform it would break her heart."

There have been many short discussions on the blue envelope, and you're right it does not appear on one's profile. I really learned my lesson the hard way on that one...now I have to jump thru hoops to get over my stupidity...you have to understand I went into oblivious, tired mode yesterday following all the bad hype on our poor Susan, that my vision was obsecured. I just thought it was not working, the joke's on me.

@Joly this Sunday Express you mention http://www.express.co.uk/search/susan%20boyle/ is really a rag isn't it? One of the articles about Colwell says

SIMON Cowell yesterday confessed he fears for the well-being of Susan Boyle and revealed he has regrets over her meteoric rise to fame.

Last week Cowell even summoned Boyle’s family to London to discuss whether to pull her from the TV show’s live tour, after she showed no signs of having recovered from a breakdown following treatment at The Priory.

Then like you say the "Have Your Say" comments section is disabled, I couldn't even find the article you mention that has comments enabled.

Back on topic - ahem :P

Why do I love Susan and what drew me to her? I have thought long and hard about this and discussed this with other fans and come to the following conclusion.

We live in a world which has been dominated for the last few decades by image and manipulation. Everyone has to have "the look", pictures are airbrushed etc... and sounds are also manipulated and distorted. Indeed there are now a growing group of people who no longer listen to the human voice singing but listen to computer generated "VOICE" recordings sating they do so because they are so "perfect and pure" in quality. (Can you think of anything more soul less?) The media has held up an increasingly distorted image of "perfection" and many have become blinded and blighted by it as it becomes more and more twisted and in my view less and less perfect. Where is the soul, the heart and the joy in these images and in these performances? Where is that something which reaches out and touches us with its simplicity, truth, honesty and a myriad of other emotions? And when did it become a crime for a performer to vary a note, to miss the odd note, to vary the performance or to deviate from this increasingly perverted idea of perfection?

Years ago, before TV and the rapid advance of the media inspired industry which we see today, performers were judged on how they performed and the effect they had on audiences, not on their "look" or any of the other superficial standards which are applied today. Actors, singers and entertainers had heart and soul and those who had joy in their hearts for what they brought to the stage were loved by their audiences. My Mum said to me that "Susan is one of the old school, she does it from the heart and it shows". When she stood on that stage, unadorned, and sang for the pure joy of doing so, it awakened in so many that basic need to hear a genuine performance. It is ironic therefore that it is modern technology in the form of the viral you tube sensation which has enabled the rest of the world to wake up too.

Elaine Paige described Susan as "A breath of fresh air" and I believe that like many performers she recognized in Susan that here was someone who was singing on her terms, free and unencumbered by the trappings of the modern day industry. It is not surprising to me that so many GREAT singers and performers have come out as fans and supporters of Susan, Streisand, Minelli, Patti Lu Pone, Dolly Parton, Lulu, Elaine Paige, to name but a few and of course Andrew Lloyd Weber himself thinks she is pretty darn good as well. They know a good thing when they see and hear it, and oh don't they wish they had that freedom to be joyous.

The bottom line is that Susan sings from the bottom of her heart and soul and she sings to us; fame and fortune mean nothing to her, she just wants to sing. In this world of manufactured and fake everything, that makes her a rare diamond. A diamond beyond price.

Oh and thanks to the moderator(s) here for working so hard to clean up this site and keep it postive so we can support Susan.

Now, since I cannot add any ingredients to the receipe or concockshun that TXNoelle & Bohemian Spirit are creating...I am going to retire for the nite.

I feel better that I said my peace to Dear Mr. Piers, on his Defence for Susan Blog. Also, I am on a happier note that the media mode is riding on "good" right now. It seems like it goes up and down like a "yo-yo", and as I said before I am not so sure the "yo-yo" string is not being controlled for whatever reason. Big Business and their games and ethics are beyondst me. All I can say...is let's keep it calm out there.

Another thing, that I believe Susan is picking and choosing her tour dates totally to her advantage, as brought up by Donna T. All I can say, is just don't over do it, girl! 26 shows is absurd for any act to do...and the other performers are also taking breaks. However, they get no bad vibes for doing so in the media. To have very little spacing between shows is absurd. They literally have to be out of their minds.

When his Blog page first comes up, click on News, and then look for his weekly article of Susan on the Daily Mail, he has his now famous article which he wrote a few weeks back called "Susan Boyle is a very feisty, funny, lady"...you can comment after that article as well. They don't publish everything..however I think they may also rotate some of the comments, so if you do not see yours there just keep checking.

G'morning Susanites. 7 a.m. here in the Bluegrass state and hot as blazes.

Been reading the former posts to catch up a bit.

Misti, I like your idea of boycotting the advertisers in the rags. I live in the states so don't see the British rags, but we have plenty here that are just as bad. What we can do in order not to actually BUY those tabloids is simply pick one up in the grocery store and look at it just long enough to copy the sponsors, then write to them all and tell them what we're doing and why. If enough of us do it, we can hit them in the pocketbook very nicely. People magazine too - any publication that prints negative articles about our Susan can be targeted, and the media as well. We can definitely hit Geraldo Rivera and any TV reporters who demean her, since their advertisers are right there in front of us.

If her publicity people aren't going to do their job, we can certainly make an impact with this tactic.

Good Morning from Texas~ Thanks pickled tink~ loved your post..it made me recall some of Susan's interviews where she sung..perfectly... right off the bat with no accompaniment, etc. I was surprised because I was used to stars on the talk shows not wanting to sing unless it was planned for in advance-very few if any would just sing "cold" like that...because they couldn't! Just goes to show that Susan is a natural "pro" and I find her more than refreshing...One of the many things I love about her is that she is so real~
Posted by DR on June 21, 2009
tassiesandy - that would explain a lot! Surprised it hasn't been made public tho. I found an article about it, but it's not dated and I can't tell if it's a reliable source (if there is any such thing!). Apparently the threat was made by a poster on youtube. Went to youtube and did find reference to it there in some of the posts, but can't find the original death threat post. Apparently the poster is known for being quite vile, but this is over the top if it's true. The article suggests the original post has been removed - or at least that's what I remembered after I went away.

Wish I could find the article again, but I can't. However, what I remember (which is usually little and often inaccurate!) is the poster felt Susan should be removed because she was setting a bad example. Says ugly people shouldn't be allowed out in public and Susan was giving all the ugly people hope. Poster thinks ugly people need to be taught a lesson.

If it's true, it will have been devastating to Susan if she has been told. After all the years of bullying and now this. Oh how I do hope it's not true! But, if it didn't happen, why are there posts concerning it on youtube?

The poster was named, but I don't think I should repeat it here since I didn't personally read the original post.

I have just googled this myself and it is really alarming. How could anyone want to even threaten this wonderful woman like this? There are too many freaks out there unfortunately and little deterrant. I hope the police and all her bodyguards are vigilant. They let down John Lennon - please God make them protect Susan. No wonder she is scared bless her.
Posted by pickled tink on June 21, 2009
I think Susan is wise enough to know that there will always be bullies and idiots in this world, but she also must know that a huge amount of love surrounds her. She is not a simpleton and is a lot tougher than people give her credit for, the mere fact that she is on the BGT tour at all says more to me about her strength of character than anything, when she could so easily have walked away. Fans need to beware of becoming mawkish or smothering and wanting to wrap her in cotton wool, she needs to spread her wings and fly, and it wont be easy; she may falter, and we need to be there to support her journey. We can not protect her from every single thing and every single possible hurt any more than we can for example protect our children from hurt. The best thing we can do is be there for them, defend her when it is appropriate to do so - for example in the press comments sections and e mailing Mr Clifford etc... and give them our unconditional love as a source of support to cope when things don't go quite according to plan, because life is not a bed of roses, so she can live her dream and live it the way she wants to live it.
They said she needed rest and she was just tired. That if they told her she couldn't sing tonight it'd break her heart because she wants to sing. I'm so thrilled we'll get to see a performance this evening.
Posted by CatsAloud on June 21, 2009
Re recent Simon Cowell article posted by many newspapers. He is under alot of flak; Susan Boyle was the person who put his show into top ratings and he knows it. Nice to also see Amanda Holden (BGT judge) building a career in the USA largely as a result of Susan Boyle. I hope Amanda Holden pays Susan Boyle a commission fee for that.
Posted by DR on June 21, 2009
If this is true......and the key word here is "IF"..... perhaps we have been too hasty to criticize her "minders". Perhaps we don't have all the necessary information to be deciding what is best for Susan. I pray Susan is feeling protected and safe. I pray this is not true............

Susan is going to perform tonight ? How can that be ? I thought I read in the papers that she was [as they called it] kicked off the tour ? Im sure the tabloids just made a little honest mistake right ? A little fib or perhaps a little white lie ? I guess their white lies are so many they've now turned from white to grey and now to black...not too much light in their publications :-)

Kalua, amen to that.

Catsaloud, Simon SHOULD be under a lot of flak. He needs to keep protecting Susan and providing her with luxuries - she's done plenty to keep their names in the news. The only reason anyone pays any attention to them at all is because people associate them with Susan.

A thought re: all the stars who have come out to support Susan..Elaine Paige, Liza, Barbara, ..movie stars and rock stars. Wouldn't it be wonderful if somehow we could get them to "rally for Susan"..be out there with their support ..figure it would either help shush the tabloids..or make said stars fodder themselves. Any thoughts???

Susan is due to perform at 1:30 pm UK time and 6:30 pm UK at the Wembley Arena in London
A lot more people are also going to be watching America's Got Talent because we all know we're going to see a Susan Performance. She can bring Pebbles with her, for sure to the states. Heck, the airline will probably let her have Pebbles on the plane with her, just because they'd be honored, to have her on the plane. Obama can send Air Force One to pick her up. Atleast our tax dollars would go for something useful, lol.

Susan DVDs to download.

Just incase you've missed it, I have been creating DVDs of Susan's live concert performances for those who are technically unable to do so for themselves. These DVDs have been turned into ISO files, that you can easily download yourself. Using some simple (and free) software, you can turn those ISO files straight into a DVD (NOTE: you must use a blank DVD, a CD will NOT work!) that you can then take away and play on your home DVD player/TV just like any other. All the DVDs are in NTSC format for use in the US (they should also work anywhere else). There are currently 7 DVDs available. The procedure for creating them is the same for each DVD:

1. Go get the ISO file for the DVD you require - see the list below for the links to each DVD download (choose the 'free download' option - don't use 'premium' because it will cost. There is a 30 second delay before the download link will show for adverts to display).

2. Save it somewhere on your machine, and then unZIP (DVD 2 isn't ZIPped) the file (XP/Vista: right-click on the .zip file, then select 'Extract All'), which will create SUSANDVDx.ISO (where 'x' is the number of the DVD you've downloaded)

3. If you have your own ISO to DVD burner software (most versions of Nero, Roxio, Cyberlink should have this feature, or use ImgBurn again if you downloaded it before) then you can now use that to create your DVD from the ISO file

4. If you need an ISO to DVD burner (for free) then I would recommend ImgBurn: Click here to download (Just click the blue 'Download' button, then save the .exe file, then run it to install)

5. To create your DVD with ImgBurn: Insert a blank DVD, run ImgBurn, Select 'Write Image File to Disc' option, click the folder image next to where it says 'Please select a file...' then browse to the SUSANDVDx.ISO file (where 'x' is the number of the DVD you've downloaded), then click the image at the bottom of the screen (with the green triangle in the middle of 2 pictures of a disc) to start creating the DVD. Let it do its stuff - it will tell you when it's done. (You may want to untick the 'Verify' tick box if you want your disc to be ready quickly).

6. Eject the disc, take it to your home DVD player and play it!

@stevieboy49 - clearly that is a joke blog website. However I find it in very poor taste (and I have to say a bit unnerving that there are idiots out there who can post something making up death threat claims to anyone). In my country someone could be arrested for posting something like that.
