Susan invited to sing at the White House
Posted by SBFII Admin on June 02, 2009

Susan Boyle's brother John has revealed that U.S. president Barack Obama has invited Susan to sing at the White House next month as part of the Independance Day celebrations.

Speaking exclusively to the Daily Record, John said: "Susan has been invited to the celebrations at the White House with the president."

"So as you can see, her dream is still very much alive. In fact, it's only just starting."

"Susan is exhausted, that's all there is to it. It's no surprise - she has gone from a small town in West Lothian to being famous around the world."

"She's been battered non-stop for the last seven weeks and it has taken its toll. But she'll be looking forward now to the Fourth of July."

This is wonderful news and will be something positive and exciting that she can really look forward to. I hope that her trip to the White House is the first official function that she undertakes. She needs the down time between now and then to recuperate her energies and regain her equilibrium.

posted by twells on june 02, Great news. But be sure to show your support for Susan by pre-ordering her cd. That's the most tangible way to show her that coming in second wasn't the end of her dream.

YAHOOOOOOOOOO! Wouldn't that be something. I'd walk to DC to see/hear her. We all love you, Susan. Rest up. Take your time.

This is a great news..I'm so glad for Susan.. you are such a sweetheart, and I hope you're getting the rest you need..

People from the press, please leave her alone..

Finally an article that's expressing basic truths. It's truly a relief. And I knew Obama was a big fan of hers, as I'm sure the Queen is. Radical change in lifestyle inevitably produces extreme stress and no one in world history has ever experienced such a rapid flight to world fame for their extraordinary talent. As they intimate in this article, Susan's recovery will be more rapid than we think because basically she's a strong woman of faith. More power to her!

Mchelle and her Mother will treat Susan like the Queen that she is. this was my dream...now to get a decent person like Donny Osmond to manage her at his studio in Utah.

What a great article in the Daily Record. I am delighted that Susan will be in the U.S. for our Independence Day celebration! We, as well as she, now have something to look forward to. It is going to feel like Christmas to have her in our country. How wonderful!!!!!!

Oh, this is wonderful! Our Susan at the White House, and she's feeling better too. I am so relieved and happy for our girl - oh Lordy, more tears. I think I'll send a message to the Prez and thank him for his good taste in people and in music.

Live in the DC area and have lots of room, but house is such a mess with painters and contractors messing up that I'd be embarrassed. Of course I mess it up even more. But if I can find some help to get it into shape, which i am working on, I will extend the invite -- party all day and all nite!!

Hello Diana. It is certainly great news, especially since her brother John speaks as though it's a done deal, at least as far as Susan being able to do it. They certainly wouldn't announce it if there was any thought that she might not be ready and well. So I'm just happy to hear this reassurance about her health. I can't remember how 4th of July in DC fits in with recording in Prague and the tour of the 10 finalists...
Posted by pottedferne on June 02, 2009
i hope she doesn't do the tour....Sure has a good excuse not to.
Posted by johnnycake on June 02, 2009

Ooh, wonder if she'll get to spend the night in the Queen's bedroom - that would be awesome. Just knowing she'll be in our country brings me great relief. Her brother stated that she was1 worried that nobody would want her recordings now - boy, do we ever. Susan love, you make 'em, we'll buy 'em

We have to remember this is a very large mix of personalities! My humor some may not get....but in the end I hope we will all come together with Love and Support for Susan. That is what the site is all about. I do pray that we can all over look each others faults and become one BIG UNIT just admiring our very gifted lovely SUSAN. TRUE PEACE ALL!!! :) Debi Lily this was from the last blog..you left before it was posted.

What a great article! I really like what Susan's brother said, and so happy they are reminding her of her worldwide support. Wish he would have said, not just you are known all over the world, but you are loved all over the world. And way to go, Prez! If Michelle wasn't tied up being First Lady, I would back her for Susan's manager and advisor. Susan would bask in Michelle's warmth. and she could kick some major butt if anyone tried to attack her. Going to the White House. Stick that up the rear, BGT, gossipmongers, all detractors. We told you so!. We told you Susan is a woman for the ages. Won't that make her feel like somebody, which she is. That "worthless" word should now be banished from her mind and heart forever.

Whoeee!

Posted by Lonnirose on June 02, 2009
Well, there will be press around her all right, and that's fine as long as they're kind and respectful and ask PERMISSION for a picture and an interview. I think the Prez will take care of her - he's pretty smart and I'm sure he's aware of how the UK tabloids treated her. I imagine the Prez knows how it feels to be poorly treated. I am so excited for our darling girl!
Posted by donnola petrilli on June 02, 2009
The tears are running down my eyes. How could this dear lady possibly think that her singing career would be over having not won BGT. Susan, darling, we in the USA are waiting for you with open arms - don't ever think otherwise.
Posted by Lonnirose on June 02, 2009
Has this made the TV news yet? I hope so, 'cause it'll tell the trash tabloids to shove it.

Wow! The most powerfull man in the world has I believe exceeded Susan's dream. What a venue for her to arrive on our shores. Our President, Susan Boyla and our 4th of July all in one. I've got to say I'm proud to be american today and proud that our president has so graciously given Susan Boyle what is going to be a great moment in her life and a a most beautiful place in american history. God Bless America

"Prime Minister Gordon Brown has voiced concern over Britain's Got Talent runner-up Susan Boyle, following reports that she was taken to a private London clinic suffering from exhaustion.

Speaking on GMTV, Mr Brown said he hopes that Ms Boyle, who he described as a "really nice person" is ok."

Let's just hope the American media treats our Susan with more respect than the Brittish press has.
Posted by DannyMac on June 02, 2009
TommyUSA, what would you think about doing a video with "Bridge Over Troubled Waters" as the music. I see us and our love as Susan's bridge over troubled waters, which hopefully are mostly done with now. And I think the last verse is particularly appropo for her, "Sail on Silver Bird, Sail on by, Your time hascome to fly, all your dreams are on their way, See how they shine....."

I envision beautiful pictures of Susan, and maybe some crowd pictures representing all her loving supporters.
Posted by DannyMac on June 02, 2009
Yes, well let Susan skip that tour. She doesn't need it and it wouldn't be good for her in my thinking. Wouldn't it be their just desserts if they gave a tour and nobody came.

Posted by DannyMac on June 02, 2009
donnola petrilll, what you said. Yes!. Just add Simon in there. They are probably still thinking they are going to be able to keep riding her coattails some way and at the same time eaten up with envy.

You know, I didn't think it was possible to despise the people who have used and abused Susan, but it just keeps growing. I do avoid dwelling on it, but I still would like to apply some violence to all of their bodies.
Posted by johnnycake on June 02, 2009
Well bluewren, it sounds to me that the way this has been announced that those closest to her believe she is fine and will be ready to go for the 4th.

I would give anything in the world to be able to be there to see and hear Susan, and have the pure joy of cheering her. Hopefully, there will be an opportunity later on. She will overshadow the President and First Lady. There's no question. But I think they will be happy for it.

I forgot about Michelle's mother. Maybe she could be excused from the White House to be Susan's advisor. She could do it too.

I am so thrilled for your Susan. We have heard that not only the entire United States loves you...but Barack and Michelle Obama are your fans. I knew that this was going to happen...I just knew it. She's feeling down right now a wee bit, and her brother told the news media that she's worried ...that maybe no want will want to buy her CD's. You know, and I know that's riduclous. So when you all are posting notes, tell her you want lots of CD's...
Posted by Lonnirose on June 02, 2009
Google Susan Boyle at the White House and you will see it. Also, Susan's brother mentioned it too, I think. I just sent a "thumb your nose" blast to The Guardian to relay the news and give them another piece of my mind.

On the issue of a new header, I wish the one here now could be replaced immediately. The main thing about a header is that it not be busy. Too much is amateur. There will be other pictures of Susan to come, this is why IMO I think it best to exclude any from BGT. Also she probably wants to forget the drugged stupor she was in when she sang the last two songs. She had "teams of psychiatrists" with her and that means coercion to take drugs. She's probably full of them as we speak and will be as longs as she hopes to sing in public. This will be part of her deal I'm sure. Susan might be back but not as we know her.

The header for my own website is SUSAN BOYLE: THE SECOND COMING (because she came 2nd). It isn't a fansite but rather a site for providing information as to how to prevent persecution as an outspoken person. Humans for some reason, persecute people who perform "miracles" and then they adore them after they have killed them. Society doesn't actually want intelligent, courageous people around who tell the truth, and find happiness and fulfillment doing the right thing. After the mob mentality has disposed of them in a frenzy, people make a religion out of the crucified person. Religion is a phenomenon whereby ordinary unremarkable people pretend they are great by association with a truly great person. They want to get attention without actually doing anything for it, and so get rid of the person who sets the example. Susan, Jesus and others are praised as exceptional, raised to divine status and then when they get too high, are taunted, judged and condemned as though they are egocentric and wanted to be that high. This is the formula. Weird eh? We should really stop doing that. It's disgusting.

I hope the Britain TABLOIDS pick up this story! BGT might have launched Susan, but they never backed her up by voting for her...they placed her in the gutter instead...so sad!

Hurrah for America! They recognize amazing talent!
Posted by Lonnirose on June 02, 2009
Ok, more specifically, the article is in the Daily Record in the UK. As to contacting The Guardian, I just googled it and it came up. Took some searching in their titles, but I finally got to the "comments" section. This is the second time I've sent them a blast - told them today that I hope the sleazy tabloids who hurt Susan have sleepless nights and upset stomachs! If the shoe fits .....

Well first of all I hope that this is the news Susan needs to assure herself that her career is just beginning, I don't mean to be wet blanket does she not have to finish her contract with BGT by going tour first before anything else and doesn't Simon Cowell have her rights. I am glad for her but mind lets not rush her.

SUSANBOYLEFAN, that's the most welcome news I've had since last Friday! Susan at the White House! Holy Moley!!

'Mornin' Yall. It's Suesday here in USA, idnit? Just gettin' to my morning coffee (slurp). I see there's a lot of new fans here. WELCOME ALL!

RENTOU????? In CYPRUS??? Is that like in Nicosia? In the Mediterranean? I was there in '65-'66. Love and miss that place. Hope to go back some day for a visit.

Lots of comments I missed out on after I went to bed. And yall know how I hate to miss anything. Gotta go do some comments scrolling now (feel the burn).

A remarkable woman. She'll be able to come to America and rest a lot too. Without so much pressure added to her, she's going to love America...
Posted by johnnycake on June 02, 2009
Mrlscan, we'll treat her like royalty. And any who don't, beware. I just blasted my formerly favorite morning talk host for a snarky remark. The few who have been living in a cave who don't realize the size and passion of her following will soon find out.
Posted by BJG on June 02, 2009
I thought Susan had a number of contracts all ready to sign. Were they contingent on winning the BGT? What about the trip to Prague and the concert recording? Did Simon withdraw the contracts he had "all ready" to sign?
Posted by TXNoelle on June 02, 2009
BROOKLYNB, LOLOL!! That is so clever a thought to pick up on and what a coup for the Obamas! FREEDOM!!! (a la Wm Wallace)
Posted by Singing Soul on June 02, 2009
As neither a Brit nor an American I am quietly reading the responses to Susan's incredible success. I cannot understand why people keep saying "She lost" the BGT? She didn't lose damnit, she came second!!!

If going to the US will give her the support and confidence she may be needing at the moment, it is fantastic, if not then I hope she will say "Not yet."

Susan's health is the most important thing right now and hopefully this is merely a reaction to the last 7 weeks.

It is horrifying to see the nastiness that has been in the media.

It is so heartwarming on the other hand to read through this fansite. I now only read Subo's news here. I do hope she sees this fansite as it is enough to make me weep every time I hear the love, support and sincerity from her fans. You're the greatest bunch of supporters and it is a privilege to be on this fansite!!!

It will truly be wonderful if Susan does get to sing at the White House. I'm sure this will be confirmation for Susan that she is really worth something and that the world does indeed want to hear more of her voice. I live just outside Washington, so normally would have been glued to the TV for coverage, but of course I am going to visiting home in England then. I have the feeling that if this takes place then it will be covered. As for the name SuBo, I personally think it is disrespectful to be giving her that nickname. Why don't we just call her by Susan or Susan Boyle, a name that is a household word around the world, and of which she can be justifiably proud? She has already made for herself a place in history.
Posted by johnnycake on June 02, 2009
Morning Noelle, Can I borrow a cup of orange juice? Did you hear about some party in Washington in July? I wonder who will be entertaining there.
Posted by IvoryMist on June 02, 2009
Amanda Holden is being interviwed tonight on Larry King. I think it is a sad situation that Susan Boyle launched Amanda's career in the US and she did not even have the guts to pull for her to win..she picked the comedy Stratus Flatley. If you want to email a question for her tonight go here:

yes JC, on Tommys chat my wish was for Susan to sing God Bless America on the West Steps of the Capitol on the 4 of July....it took all 6 of my 4 leaf clovers to pull it off.
Posted by TXNoelle on June 02, 2009
BJG, I think those "contracts ready to be signed" are contingent on Susan's willingness to sign them. Simon has said in an interview recently that Susan is free to do as she wishes, even if it's to go home to Blackburn.

I'll hold my breath about the White House. Susan's public persecution as an oxygen-deprived baby who shouldn't be here, is being damaged controlled by heads of state such as Gordon Brown and Obama. They have to make sure that people don't get wind of the policies now in place to get rid of outspoken or "brain damaged" people. First gun control, then control of the creative and the outspoken. Everything that is being done now is because Susan is bigger than Simon Cowell in terms of wit, observation and telling the truth. There is not one news item that isn't specifically written to smooth this over. Simon Cowell was created to give the impression that outspokenness is quirky and in a museum. Like Joni Mitchell's song about cutting down trees for the parking lot and putting the trees in a museum, Susan came along and turned this on its ear.

Susan was absolutely correct in telling Piers Morgan to you-know-what himself. He was insulting to the highest degree in offering himself as her date, and then getting himself out of the pickle by saying someone else was a better singer. I called Susan after that and warned her about these people. I wish I had said more now, but I feared being seen as crazy.

I hope this invitation is really true! Even for people who do not agree with Obama's policies, the fact that the person serving as President of the United States has invited Lady Susan to the White House is wonderful for her and her fans, especially now. We've been to the 4th of July celebration in DC, and it is absolutely fantastic. (We happened to stay in the same hotel as all of the performers and producers of the televised spectacle, and everyone was just going about their business -- no mob scenes -- it was very fun.) If Susan does sing, I wonder if it will be in the White House (which hasn't really had much of the celebratory activity in the past) or on the grand stage in front of the Capitol, in a nationally-televised program.

I think Susan Boyle has such a beautiful voice. In my opinion she got a raw deal. Susan was by far the best performer. I hope she recovers and gets out a recording soon. I don't spend a lot on CD's but that is one CD I will be watching for. Hugs and Prayers to you Susan.

Mornin', JOHNNY. Yes, I did hear about that party and what a coup for US and a poke in the royal ribs, eh? And I hope Obama will invite some fellow celebs of Susan's...like ELTON, BETTE, STREISAND, the OSMONDS, etc.

Sorry 'bout the OJ, I only have Berry Juicy Juice.

BTW, JOHNNYCAKE, you got mail.

I do hope some of Susans close freinds or family will be there too in USA to give her support

Is this information official? Just asking, because any tabloid that start with the word DAILY i don't trust. So far Diversity get to dance with pop singer k.West but our Susan will sing for Mr President. This is getting better and bigger all the time. I wonder who is lilly Allen singing for these days?
Posted by Ammie on June 02, 2009
Okay, I'm going to say it. Diversity was good, NOT great! There, it's done. I'm beginning to believe that people feel it's politically incorrect to say anything but high praise for a group named "diversity". First of all, they are not diverse. There is not one female in that group! The upper age is a mere 25! And, apparently, the lowest age is 14! Not very diverse at all. Okay, the act was anticlimatic compared to seeing them the first and second times. Really, once the "shock" value is gone, it's kind of "ho hum" The "fall" in the act was a rip off from George Sampson, the winner from last year. And the super man costume was visually unappealing. My bet goes to the bookmarkers who had at least $5m to lose.

CALLINGMISSBOYLE - I know you mean well, but in my view you being a tad melodramatic. Susan is not a mental case - trust me, she's gonna be just fine.

Dear Susan, With so MANY wonderful posts to this blog, chances are you may never read this message. I'll take a chance and send you this note. Your performances brought me to tears - tears of joy at the beauty of your voice and of your heart. Reading about you, I learned that you have suffered learning disabilities your entire life. When God closes doors, He always opens another and for you - it is the opportunity to share your fabulous voice.

I am a teacher and I work with students with disabilities much like yours. Please know that you are an inspiration to my students. I taught a little girl last year who has a beautiful singing voice. She was born one of quadruplets and was the last to deliver. Her brain was deprived of oxygen and she now suffers many delays. Despite her disabilities, she has many gifts.

I would like to tell you that you are a fabulously gifted singer. I can only imagine what the pressures of fame can do to a person. Please know that you are loved here in the United States. My prayers are with you every day. I hope you will come to the states soon to perform.

Susan's family is in a tough spot because they have to choose exactly how to get some money out of all her suffering and yet not have Susan suffer more. A person should not sacrifice their health and happiness for money, but in Susan's case she should get some, and it's tempting to try because it's so close. This will be the story from now on.

Are you a friend of Susan...seeing that you called her?

Because...with friends like you, who needs enemies?

BRAVO SUSAN!!! You've made the U.S. "A-LIST" meeting Obama! Even though I intensely dislike the guy its MORE than grand of him to extend frienship & greetings to Susan so will give him a BIG pass on this one!

For days heard media rumors Our President - yes, he still is MY president - was a big fan of Susan's; THIS is the 2009 equivalent of The Beatles arriving in the U.S.A. in February 1964, "The Day The Earth Stood Still" for rock & pop music fans then, only Elvis being on Ed Sullivan c. 1956 was bigger and remember both events like it was yesterday!

THIS celiberty event will be covered like no other in living memory, EVERYBODY in the D.C. Press Corps knows about Susan by now, NOT ONE would dare attack her as they're all Obama sycophants. U.S. celiberity media reporters right now are KILLING each other to get interviews of her!

Now, I DO expect the White House to allow the event to be covered live, if not would be gravely disappointed! Obama is grand master of the Personal Politics of PR so I think the event will be set for U.S. Prime Time TV to get maximum exposure - don't be surprised if its simocasted on all "alphabet soup" free TV channels as well as all the cable news outlets - can see the TV promos now: "Susan At The White House, Susan Sings To America," and so on - if Susan sang "God Bless America" or "America The Beautiful") I would die yet again (GOD how many times can I?!), can't wait either to see the promo graphics.

Susan, your fame is set here in the United States Of America, take your place next to "The King" Elvas as Our Queen of music!

- Utterly Brethless in Cameron Park this A.M.

Much as I try to not see it, I can't avoid all of callingmissboyle's posts, and I cannot stand it any longer. What can we do? Nothing we say deters her. This woman has some serious problems and is on some sort of weird crusade and wanting to use Susan as her icon for it.

Tweet, I wasn't trying to tell anyone what to do,you understand. I was just remembering that a while back in the commenbts on one of the blogs, a few people had said that the SuBo nickname had been created by the tabloids and for that reason maybe we didn't want to use it. Someone on here may remember more details on that than I.

Well this is great news Susan. But I was wondering does she not have to finish with BGT by going tour first and does Simon Cowell own her rights. There sre reports that she is scheduled to start practicing for a album in Prague in the next few weeks. I hope Susan can now work on her time table and take her time.

Absolutely NO doubt in my mind that Queen Elizabeth II will at the very least invite - nay command! - Susan to appear before her at the very least for a photo op. It would be SPECTACULAR if she went to Blackburn to visit Susan, talk about pandemonium!

Susan right now is at the center of the celibrity universe, a total unknown barely two months ago now confirmed to be in the presence of the President of the United States of America and I think not TOO long from now H.M. the Queen of Great Britian and Northern Ireland, absolutely incredible!!!
Posted by DannyMac on June 02, 2009

Re: Use of SUBO for Susan. Don't know.

Just a few thoughts for clarification I'm guilty of using it a a time or two, but it really was first coined by scabloids and seems to put Susan on a level with other bimbos that are pseudo-celebs with similar nicks. Might be more respectful to 86 the term, considering the source or origin, etc.
Posted by 281165 on June 02, 2009
I fully agree DannyMac!
Posted by Amazone on June 02, 2009
I hope she can preform for the Queen one day.........that would make me so happy for here. I think she will do fine at the tour. The pressure of the competition is off now....and the worries her dream isn't coming real. She has good confidence normally...we could she that in her first appearance. She will have that strength back when she have some rest.
Posted by 281165 on June 02, 2009
I don't use the term SUBO. David Bowie is DABO, Paul Potts is PAPO, Pavarotti is LUPA, Nana Mouskouri NAMO? Just use the full names of these great people. That is a sign of respect.
Posted by bill mahoney on June 02, 2009
dear senaational Susie, It is so fitting that you sing at the Whitehouse for the Obamas and the rest of us!! You and Obama both had a dream that was amply fulfilled. Can't wait to hear you sing on the 4th of July AND to buy your album when you make it!!!
Posted by DannyMac on June 02, 2009
I am imagining that moment when Susan steps forward on stage, dais, whatever (we don't know yet in what sort of venue she will sing. Kennedy Center, perhaps?), anyway, I can see her stepping forward, looking around at the audience, and then that smile of hers appear and will light up, not just Washington, but all of USA.
Posted by Retired In Flat Broke Kalifornia on June 02, 2009
@TXNoelle regarding use of "SUBO," even though the "trashbloids" came up with the term I for one don't find it horrible. Like everything else those cretins wrote about about her its all backfired on them, look the term "Hairy Angel," its pratically an endearment!

Now that Susan is going to be at the U.S. Whitehouse reporting about her is now at an entirely different level; expect endless snipings from U.S. pop celebrities, particularly from those vile, sub-human Hip-Hop artists AND expect lots of "me two!" attempts to latch on to her fame, particulary by those recording artists who sing old songs of theirs - if they're graceous about it they'll reap all kinds of new royalties on their old recordings.
Posted by MrIscan on June 02, 2009
Is Paul a relative of Susans?
Posted by TXNoelle on June 02, 2009
I hadn't realized that, REINDER. Must be a Euro thingie. Just knew that here in USA, pseudo-celebs and J-LO (like her, don't like the nick) are tagged in press that way.

@DANNYMAC...and Susan will wow the WORLD ONE MORE TIME!! All her fans are just waiting for her next appearance. Thanks for posting comments above to ?? I'm just wondering why?? I don't get it?? I don't need a any lessons if you know what I mean. Hi Reinder, JC, Amazone, Bill, Noelle,Mrlscan...and anyone I missed! :)
Posted by TXNoelle on June 02, 2009
Not sayin it's horrible, RETINKALIF. And surely everyone has right to call her what they wish, IMO. Just an observation on my part that it's a tad disrespectful.

But about that term, "H_____ Angel"....Don't MAKE me come over there, RIK!!!!

That's definitely derogatory in my book and hurtful considering all the torture Susan suffered from school bullies about her eyebrows, etc.
Posted by Retired In Flat Broke Kalifornia on June 02, 2009
Their likely will be a "Tea Party" anti-taxation protest at the California State Capitol on the 4th and plan to be there so do hope Susan's Whitehout visit isn't timed for the daytime; actually am more concerned when the singing is, don't want to miss that so may skip the protest - Obama's media people have timed this perfectly!
Posted by Lonnirose on June 02, 2009
Also just notified our local TV stations. We need to get this on all the news channels to keep Susan's name out there so she gets the recognition she deserves. SO HAPPY!

Posted by Lonnirose on June 02, 2009
Gonna say this one more time: Susan had a learning disability AS A CHILD. This condition is usually outgrown by the time the child becomes an adult. Susan is very bright, some have said brilliant. I do wish the media would shut up about this and concentrate on her beauty and talent.

Sure would like to know wether there is a cover up, I am a psychiatric nurse and telling you there is something fishy going on, you do not book into a mental health unit with exhaustion, if it is exhaustion you would be out in a short time say couple of weeks and be back to normal. If there is more to it then it could take a month or longer, to be fair i have seen rapid progress in patients and seen them out in 2-3 weeks and lead normal lives. Am beginning not to trust bgt and her family, contadictions are getting numerous, as if they are not telling you something. Am hoping and praying she is going to be alright, and back to singing again soon, only time will tell wether my suspicions are right or wrong, dearly love to be wrong on this.

@MrIscan; Would love to know number of pre-orders Amazon.com's got for Susan's CD, HAS to be in the hundreds of thousands by now, perhaps a million or more, and that's just on this sales website!

Talked with my older sister last night about Susan, loves her singing as well, she'd said that Susan needs to get something out soon. The "usual practice" is to get a single out to keep up fan interest but since Susan's going to see Obama that alone will keep interest peaked in her and she'll not be under such intense pressure to produce something quickly.

When the movie is made of Susan's story I hope to God that she plays herself in the present and not some actress. It's a story that is going to go on and on for Susan and I pray she lives to be 100. As for the movie what a climatic ending now (or ctually a beginning) to end the movie with Susan standing on the Balcony of the WHITEHOUSE with the President and his family watching the fireworks explode over the Wshington monument and America the beautiful playing in the background with Obama and Susan standing with their arms around each others waist as the picture fades away to the credits that begin to roll to Susan singing the song that first united us.

LOL, DAVID, clever thinking that.

DANNYMAC, thx so much for that 1000 watt Suface smile visualization. Brightens up the day here just thinkin about it.

DAYGO5, Susan's brother has mentioned in recent interview that Susan has anxiety problems. This could very well be part of it, but additionally, you being a psych nurse or not, Susan went through a living hell from the time the tabloids designated her a target like chickens in a coop, singling out the weakest. Considering that Susan was bullied mercilessly as a child in school, there just might be some PTSD going on there, too.

But doesn't matter, DAYGO5, I understand your sincere concern and protectiveness toward Susan.

Now I have to know where the picture came from that I just saw for the first time this morning, I think in patriciart's video, of Susan in a black evening gown getting out of a limo? Anyone? Check that picture and then imagine David's scenario...

I am going to take the first step and admit I'm powerless over Susan Boyle. I've become adoicted to this site and the ability to communicate with Queen Susans loyal subjects.I am going to express to all of you now that I need a rehab but I'm not ready to give this up. Nor do I want to.....what a dilema!

@Jane: We sometimes get up to 100 balls/year next to or on our property 150 feet north of the 2nd hole, which itself is on the other side of Deer Creek. Right-handed "power hitters" always overshoot and (usually) land balls on a clump of Volkswagon-sized rocks at the southeast end which richochet all over our property; yesterday found two balls buried under the Agapanthas next to the rocks, gave them to golfers driving by who ALWAYS are happy to get them.

Mom's getting up now and she's a "drill sargent" when it comes to being at the table for breakfast, gotta go - Chao!

I appreciate the positive feedback on my post regarding the movie but understand that's not what I'm seeking (though I appreciate it) It's just when I read this post on the fan site this morning that was the mental image I immediately had and I could hear in my head the words to america the beautiful in my head. Say the words to yourself and you will understand why that for Susan we would all be shedding tears of joy as we all walked out of the theater like sobbing idiots with the best feeling we've had since Susan made her YouTube premier to the world.

I'll repeat this for those of you who just logged in. You can write a note of thanks to President Obama simply by googling "contact President Obama". All they ask is your name & address, etc. and then there's a space for your comment. I am so thrilled about this I just had to do something. What a great thing for the Prez. to do!
Posted by doremi2 on June 02, 2009
Susan, I hope you soon will be OK again... If I was in your shoes, I would buy (as soon as possible) a new house, with a BIG fence around, so you can be protected, when you are at home with Pebbles...

Can't wait for your coming album...

Hugs! Denmark

Just emailed White House Prez:

Congratulations and major THANK YOU, Prez Obama!!

Just a few words here.

I want to thank you in behalf of all Susan Boyle Fans world-wide for inviting that precious "Earthy Angel, Oh-Oh-Celtic and Licensed to Thrill" to the White House for our 4th of July Celebration.

That is definitely a "FREEDOM!" (a la Wm Wallace) coup for Susan and the White House!

Also want to mention how wise you are for doing so and request tentatively that you also include Elton John and Bette Midler. Wouldn't the three of them be a total HOOT together??!!

Maybe this is why Susan has been invited by O'Bama?

66 angry comments went up in like 3 minutes...lol.

What great news ! Susan Boyle is the cultural equivalent of Obama's poitical story...the audacity of hope. He would recognize this and want to reward it, since she has become a role model for so many people, as he is, to reach for your dreams, no matter who says you cannot. If you have watched the 4th of July White House celebration before, it is huge and is televised. Move over, Bruce Springsteen ! Whoever said it would be nice for Susan to do a great version of God Bless America, this could be the time.

Maybe...just maybe....when we click on some negative news drek by mistake...because I just KNOW that none of us Sulovers want to hear/see anything bad written/said about Susan Boyle....it might be wiser to lodge our protests with that particular media's ADVERT SPONSORS and hit 'em in their wallet where it'll REALLY hurt 'em to continue bad-mouthing Susan.

As someone who used to listen to Susan's audition video numerous times a day, so that I can in fact repeat verbatim every word of the conversations with Ant & Dec and the judges, I admit with all the turmoil of the past few days I haven't watched it (too much time just keeping up with comments here!) But I went back and watched it again, and besides getting all goosebumpy and teary again, I also want to say this. Despite all the negative comments about Simon and Piers (and I'm one of them who harbor those feelings as well) when I went back and watched that audition, I don't know. Looking at their expressions, I can't help but feel that both Simon and Piers fell a little bit in love with her that day. The emotion on their faces seems just too genuine, from the heart, not just dollar signs.

People continue to comment on the YouTube site and someone posted these stats, and these are just from YouTube, not including comments to all the various internet articles, amazon, fan sites, etc.

This is absolutely FANTASTIC news!!!! As a "dyed-in-the-wool" Texas Republican, there are precious few things where I agree with President Obama, but this is the biggest. It makes me truly proud to be an American when the leader of our country can demonstrate such hospitality, yeah, compassion to a talented, mistreated British woman. Yup, as ndcoop said the other day, now we know why we broke away from Great Britain....

Dear Susan, Congratulations are in order regarding your invitation to the White House here in America on July 4th...at the request of our President Obama. Also, I am so glad to hear you are feeling better and (according to your brother) will be your old "feisty' self again very soon. We LOVE you Susan and look forward too hearing your beautiful voice in the near future. You are ONE gifted and incredibly talented lady...take care.
Posted by MorgantownWV on June 02, 2009
I think we will all know what is going on with Susan and the future very soon. If you notice, all the invovled parties are saying the same things...her brothers, Piers, Amanda. There is no criticism of BGT. Her brother's say she is the right hands. I would bet everything is already decided. Even negative Meredith Vierra said this morning that Susan was already supposed to be in America. Her brothers keep mentioning her "support in America." I think the only people out of the loop is the public! lol.

Which stations broadcast the event the white house?
Posted by YooperSue on June 02, 2009
While I REALLY, REALLY wish this were true, I have to doubt it. Remember, the U.S. independence was from Britain... for the U.S. President to invite a loyal Brit to sing at our independence day party would not be in the best interests of international relations. Again, I wish this were true but it probably isn't. No mention of it in the mainstream media, either.

Susan, You are totally and absolutely magnificent, courageous, talented and it is such a privilege to hear you sing and hear your interviews. I am a retired psychologist of many years experience and know that you are exhausted. You have done more than is humanly possible. I admire you and will follow your progress with much interest and admiration.

YooperSue: the "click here to read full story" on blog above IS MAIN MEDIA in UK. USA may wait until Susan accepts to announce as it is premature and thank GOD they aren't running that ahead of time and putting more pressure on her. Even positive can be too much pressure when overwhelmed. Slow and EZ for Susan . . .

I think we would be one happy bunch...smiling and laughing and crying just to be at a Susan concert or CD..signing!!
Posted by PIGGIE on June 02, 2009
@YooperSue, I respectfully disagree. Obama is all about breaking down borders and uniting us (the world) among our differences. Britain has been our biggest ally in the Iraq war. I don't think Susan will be singing "God Bless America," as I do think it would be hard for someone not borne and bred here to put real feeling into the "Land...that I LOVE!" line. But other than that, Obama and the rest of the USA would love to have Susan sing something uplifting during our independence day celebration.

Yeah!! Susan in the USA!!! But before then, we have a place where we can vote for her--on Amazon.com, by requesting to be notified of her CD. It would make news if she rose on their list of most requested CDs, but she has to get on the list, first! It might take all 22,000 of us signing up to even get her on the list--so SIGN UP!! There are a couple of places where you can add comments, too.
Posted by MorgantownWV on June 02, 2009
I am still a little skeptical of the article as well, however, it sounds accurate. I have heard all those things from the lips of her brothers, Piers, and Amanda. The only thing I haven't heard before is the White House gig. I don't know why that one part would wrong??? Maybe it was a premature slip of the tongue by her brother who has been told not to tell it again??? Who knows....

Great article, so nice to hear some good news for Susan ! I'm glad she has so many brothers and sisters around her too! I don't know how she got through those 7 weeks of hell. But she got through it. Now she will get to rest and be able to go at her own pace now. Yeah!

I'll agree that the invite for Susan to celebrate at the Whitehouse on July 4th is touchy considering the meaning of the day. Also I have to say that President Obama is a master politician and PR guru.

Queen Elizabeth has declined to be part of the Normandy tribute in France, so maybe it's a political mastermind of an idea to invite Susan Boyle to a warm and sincere embrace in the United States on Independence Day with the President of the United States. This outpouring of love from across the world could never have been dreamed up by anything mortal......I leave it to you to decide who's really calling the shots on her incredible journey into history.

I am really happy to hear that Susan is coming to the U.S. to The White House. I think after the enormous and adoring reception she gets here, then she will realize the impact she has had on us and the world.

I saw that her brother said Susan after he loss on BGT is wondering whether people still want to hear her sing. All of this just endears her more to us.

It is also understandable to be disappointed after her loss. Especially if not all the votes got through, then she still does not know the massive following she has.

This is such wonderful news and has cheered me up tremendously to see she is getting the attention she deserves.
Posted by YourAwesome on June 02, 2009
@Yes DAVID...God sent her to us!!! No doubt in my mind!!
Posted by YooperSue on June 02, 2009
Again, I REALLY wish it were true, but I don't think President Obama would choose to usurp the Queen. I am one of her biggest fans and would absolutely LOVE to have Susan be a part of our Independence Day celebration. Other news articles have said she will probably make $13 million next year with a CD, and possible book and movie about her life, She well deserves it. Prague news reports say that she will be cutting a CD of Broadway show tunes with the Czech National Orchestra at the end of June. (but still no word in the mainstream U.S. media - why?)
Posted by TXNoelle on June 02, 2009
DAVID, master politician and PR guru, INDEED! That's why I made mention of his wisdom in doing so in the "Thank you" email I sent the Prez.
Posted by TXNoelle on June 02, 2009
I dunno, YOOPERSUE....the QE has had plenty of time to do something after the finals. I've read somewhere in the news or heard one of the BGT execs say how bowled over they are re: the QE's pre-emptive invitation to Susan to sing in the RV which was extended prior to the finals.
Posted by ca0911 on June 02, 2009
If Susan wants to continue her career and I sincerely hope she does, I am afraid she and we will have to realize that the tabloid garbage is not going to stop. I just saw a story on the "telegraph", whatever that is, with an absolutely horrible pic of Susan and a headline saying a poll of British public shows 70% think Susan should not have been allowed to sing on BGT. Giving the devil his due, it was not BGT who was ultimately to blame for Susan's stress and anxiety......it was the tabloid feeding frenzy. This will continue because that is what they do. But I think Susan will toughen up and learn simply not to read or listen to that nonsense.
Posted by ultravioletrae on June 02, 2009
Hey you guys, try this! This is how big of a star Susan Boyle has become. Google just the first name, Susan. You will get over 10,000 articles about Susan Boyle! You no longer need to type in her last name. Unbelievable! So glad that she is coming here to the US, where we have the eyes to see her beauty and the ears to hear the most extraordinary voice that has come along in ages! Thank you President Obama.
Posted by david on June 02, 2009
let's look at the positive of all this about Susan being invited to the Whitehouse. Let's say it was a rumor....well if so the Whitehouse is getting a shi_load of e-mail thanking President Obama for this wonderful gesture. I wrote an e-mail as I hope everyone continues to do until and after this story is confirmed. The President is no dummy and it's obvious he loves the publicity. He has his first opportunity to bring the feelings of all americans, democrats and republicans united for a common cause in celebration and love. I said it before and I'll repeat it there's something much greater than a human element calling the shots! ......Susan Boyle thought others felt she was worthless.....she had the amount of letters to the word she really meant but she's a humble woman.....The word is PRICELESS!
Posted by YooperSue on June 02, 2009
Perhaps her brother (or the reporter) is confusing the invitation from President Obama with the invitation to the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, a star-studded $200-a-ticket black-tie event in early May that supports the needy and helps fund journalism scholarships. The affair at the Washington Hilton welcomed such celebs as Ashton Kutcher, Demi Moore, Stephen Spielberg –but Susan had to say no because but that show rules prevented her from attending while the competition was still on.

CA, I hope Susan and her fam SUE the scabloids' frito-buttocks off...and WIN!! They can, yanno, considering what she's been through all her life and the scabloids foreknowledge of what she's been through. Deliberate harrassment and cruelty!

Howdy Pards,

I join my fellow Americans in hoping and praying that this is true. We would be soooo honored to welcome Lady Susan Boyle to our shores. This country loves her with all of our heart and soul.

I also hope that the Queen will now issue that command performance request to Miss Susan. The time is well past when it should have been done.

Adios for now. Talk to ya on down the trail.

Piers' emotional tasering of Susan was done in order to attract attention to BGT. There are too many competing fashions and sinister interests vying for your attention and money, and businesses are now resorting to abuse to horrify people so they remember the abuse and by extension the show where it took place. Kind of like visiting the Manson house.

Out of sympathy to Susan, and in protest to this sinister new trend, I am specifically not watching BGT ever again. I hope you will join with me in this, as the ultimate way of supporting and believing in Susan against the malicious reputation that has been applied to her.

Once people get over the shock of Susan's emotional tasering, her treatment will be a precendent carved in stone. Right now our exploiters are still waiting for the cement to dry. We CANNOT condone these extreme measures of attention-getting and precendent-setting. No one cares anymore about the innocent man who was tasered in Vancouver airport. Let's not make the same mistake twice.

Susan should take Piers to court for emotional abuse in front of an audience. Here she was expected to quitely "take it" to avoid accusations of insanity. This girl was set up from the very start in preparation for this big moment. She would have no choice but to "take it" at the most widely-viewed moment of the series i.e her last performance in the Roman Coliseum.

I am very happy to hear she is getting her much needed rest. Her dreams are coming true ... singing at the white house is just a start of her journey. Get well soon we all love you

Britain's Got Talent star Susan Boyle turned down an invitation to a dinner with US president Barack Obama, according to the News of the World.

The paper cites an unnamed source as saying that the singer, whose audition has been widely viewed in the US, did not want to witness the president's oratory talent at the annual White House Correspondent's Dinner in Washington DC.

A source told the tabloid she turned down the invitation as she was too nervous to attend the event at which the president traditionally delivers a self-deprecating speech and is mocked by comedians.

"She was shocked and thrilled by the invite - but it was all too much too soon for her so she said 'No'. She has been told President Obama has seen clips of her on TV and loved her singing. And she is delighted.

"But instead she'll have no doubt stayed in with her cat Pebbles, washed her hair and watched Britain's Got Talent on telly," the paper quoted a source as saying.

However, the paper reports that the star is a fan of the US commander in chief and hopes to sing for him one day.

@Ultravioletrae: Ha! That is great! I was one of posters way back claiming I did not like the SuBo moniker (don't like any of the other combo-nicknames Brangelina, TomKat, etc. either) and I said Susan would probably end up being one of those one-name-only-necessary icons like Madonna, Cher, Barbra, Bette. Looks like she's getting there already!
Posted by TXNoelle on June 02, 2009
ULTRAVIOLETRAE, ultra-frito-fabulous for Susan on Google!

DAVID, yer right. If it were a rumor, fans could definitely hedge their bets by emailing "thank you's" to the Prez. LOL! He'd definitely feel the pressure and have to do/say something about it.

And the term Priceless describes Susan to perfection! I agree.
Posted by Allikat on June 02, 2009
Let's allow Susan all the time she requires to get to feeling well again, and then let her choose whether or not she actually wants to come to the US for this 4th of July celebration. From what I've been reading, she has offers galore, lots of contracts as yet unsigned, and they just keep pouring in. Can anyone say 'more stress'?

I thought she wanted to go back home to Blackburn for awhile once she gets out of this recuperation center she's in, before making any decisions as to what steps she'll take next. In fact I read it was almost a 'done deal' and that she'd most likely be heading back there as soon as today or tomorrow!

Until I hear something directly from Susan herself, I will have to wonder if she's not being pushed a bit by someone, most likely family members, into getting back up on her 'career horse' as soon as possible in order to strike while the money iron is still hottest.

Susan, what I want for you is to get yourself back to feeling GOOD again, and having the right to choose your own path, now. If that means getting over to Prague to record a CD soon, then great! You've got millions of fans waiting to purchase it! If it means totally skipping the BGT tour, then fine! Don't feel under any pressure at all, to be part of that. But if it means taking some time before signing any of those contracts, asking the world to back off awhile and let you breathe, then you go for it, girl.

You have whole lot of people who do care about you, even though you don't 'know' us. You have that career you've always wanted just waiting for you, whenever you are ready to begin it--on your terms, not anybody else's.
Posted by YooperSue on June 02, 2009
Scrooge, that's an error. See my post above as to the real reason she had to turn down the invitation to the Correspondents' Dinner. It was typical tabloid fare, with unidentified sources and made-up quotes.
Posted by Brooklyn Blessings on June 02, 2009
People talk a lot about the pressure on Susan during the first amazing 7 weeks, but she has said many times that she loves every second of it. I believe her. The single most guilty party in causing her distress is the brood of vipers also known as the heartless tabloid media in the UK. At least Lady Susan has a place to go to get some rest. Where do these journalists go to get some decency?
Posted by Patricia's Art on June 02, 2009
I hope she does come to the USA in July .She will be treated with the dignity and respect she deserves. We have all had to stand by helpless and watch this lovely women get publicly humiliated. Despite the fact that Simonn says he wants to launch her career ,it was he and Piers who set her up as a freak of nature, like the elephant man in some old victorian freakshow. And for what? Ratings,to draw a big crowd of viewers to their show. Both Piers and Simon kept saying in all their interviews, that she was old, stooped over, looked 80.Piers called her a little old lady,a spinster and the press just jumped all over it. Right from the start I was appauled at her treatment by the media! I thought Oprah was patronizing! The way she and Simon talked about Susan on the air, right in front of her like she was just a commodity. Well ,I say,Yes Susan, come to the US ,launch your career here. You will see you are loved for you, your voice and your gifts you share with us !

I think that ultimately this site is going to need a moderator. I don't want to point fingers but some people are posting messages that are definitely on the fringe, and are not suitable reading.

that's very cute on just google susan.....I tried just famous Susans and there our angel was just a short scroll down in the company of Susan Anthony. Next the pope will be naming her as a saint, but in getting to know our humble Susan she'll just decline as all she wants is to sing.
Posted by TXNoelle on June 02, 2009
SCROOGE, that announcement and decision was made pre-BGT finals. Everything we're hearing and seeing now from her fam and those close is Susan's visit home first and then on to the USA.

Good Morning SB Fans -- I'm not going to take the time right now to read all the comments.....but I have watched the recently added videos, and I am so relieved to hear Susan's brother say that Susan is determined to pursue her singing career..............I, for one, CAN HARDLY WAIT! I'm not an Obama fan, but glad to hear she will be here in the US in July.

............ get well Susan , be the strong willed person that you are and you will achieve great wonders .You have given a lot of people hope , strength and courage to face this world which is so false and fake . You stood there on that stage with great courage , humility and strength and made people realise the truth . It's not easy to face such a shallow and false world but you did it Susan and I feel so proud of someone like you. I can now imagine the same faces that ridiculed you !!! I absolutely adore you and hope to meet with you somewhere .... sometime !!!

Susan! I hope that you read all of these messages of love and support. Everyone goes through rough spots. Just rest and take your strength from all who care about you and, especially, from God. Nothing is too big for Him to handle!Famous or not, we all have critics. Focus on the positive and on the pleasure you gain and give others by your voice. I can't wait for your CD! Much love and peace to you. One of your many fans in the US.

Anyone else take note of the opening words in that Daily Record article? "BRAVE Susan Boyle..." That's more like it, dammit. ;-) If the papers are going to indulge in dramatic prose, at least let them get it right!

About the White House invitation: I realize we have people from all over the political spectrum in this group, but the one thing I hope we can all agree on is this: President Obama has very good taste in music.

All in favor, say AYE!
Posted by Sueandpebbles on June 02, 2009
Can you Americans please stop bashing us Brits. There are millions of us here in the UK that LOVE Susan and hate the trashy tabloids just as you do. I am starting to feel really uncomfortable around here :-(

And please don't forget that Susan is both Scottish and British and proud to be both!
Posted by suesuesue!!! on June 02, 2009
I see that a survey has been concocted to get people to say that "crazy" Susan should not have been allowed out in public. The wording of the survey managed to get a 72% response that Susan should never have been allowed to take part in this show.

I firmly protest this survey and its conclusion because SUSAN WOULD HAVE BEEN FINE HAD PIERS MORGAN NOT CONDESCENDED TO HER. No one does this in normal life. It is just too tasteless.

Piers offered Susan the overt charity of taking her on her first date. In response to his stupid and evil gesture, she covered for him and said "I accept." She did not say "I accept" because she was a desperate spinster who no one liked. Susan does not see herself as that. She said, "I accept" because she was put into a position where she had to manage both her dignity and Piers' bad taste. Piers has some pretty big personal issues, that's for sure.

I'm waiting for the survey on his intentions and intelligence.
Posted by Brooklyn Blessings on June 02, 2009
@suesuesue!!! Umm....you seem a bit more like an agent provocateur than a true fan. More than anyone during these weeks and days, Piers has been Susan's steadfast, visible and effective supporter at the global level. I believe this is welling up from his heart. Could you give him the benefit of the doubt?
Posted by TXNoelle on June 02, 2009
DAVID, considering Susan's religious background, she'd probably have a lot of "OMG's" for a papal invitation, but like you say, decline sainthood. However deserving Susan is for being showing and being loved without borders, she's very humble.
Posted by Bohemian Spirit on June 02, 2009
Also, let us keep in mind that this is 2009, not 1776. ;-) We the People of the United States are no longer at war with Britain. Last I checked, we've been allies for many a decade. The Fourth is all about celebrating ourselves as a nation, not about hating on the British long after the cease-fire was called. Sooooo.... Go west, young woman, go west! Rock the White House! (But only if you're ready and rarin' to go.)
Posted by TXNoelle on June 02, 2009
BROOKLYNB, almost everyone here at one point or another has had similar things to say on different subjects surrounding BGT judges in re: Susan's treatment. Perhaps we can take our differences to private message and hammer 'em out there?

SUEANDPEBBLES, no bashing re: Brits here. I think Brits were cheated on the BGT finals vote. Only scabloids and BGT bashing. If anyone is bashing Brits here, maybe they've just not got a handle on the purpose of this site. We're all Sulovers here and should be showing love, caring, support for Susan and those who're here to do the same.
Posted by Patricia's Art on June 02, 2009
@Sueandpebbles ,Your right ,we need to stop generalizing ,so sorry. Susan is a world wide super star ! It really is the tabloids that got to us all. We need to keep focused and just forget it all and move on !
Posted by thechickie on June 02, 2009
Susan,

I , like others, hope you spend more time reading the outpouring of love and appreciation for your pure talent and graciousness than any of the criticisms. None of us are perfect and we don't know how we will react until life is thrust upon us. Most obviously, singing brings you peace and gives you great joy. You give so many so much joy with your voice and humility. Awaiting your first recording of songs for release. May your smile and twinkle in your eyes never fade, may your voice be heard for many years, may you feel loved and protected by your true friends.
Posted by MorgantownWV on June 02, 2009
Sueandpebbles-I hear ya. We have definitely had own tabloid issues here in the States. I still don't know if Michael Jackson was really a pervert, but we ran him off to the United Kingdom. I am sure he will probably never perform over here again. Many were also convinced, because of the tabloids that President Reagan was getting psyhic advice from his wife! lol.

I wish someone added to this site background music of Susan singing the songs we already have her singing on the video clips posted here. Would it be great to sit at your keyboard reading and typing all these messages of support while listening to our QUEEN singing? Just a thought....does anyone have any idea how it can be done?
Posted by TXNoelle on June 02, 2009
BO, you're absolutely correct about that and if I seemed to be Brit-bashing in any of my comments, I apologize. There's no war with Britain anymore. Just with the scabloids placing Susan in the slimelight.
Posted by gardenator on June 02, 2009
Dunno, YooperSue. That break from Britain is so 18th century. Heck, they are reporting that Obama has invited Iran to join in our 4th of July. As WildDan says, O is all about the One World thing. As far as I am concerned, it is Music Without Borders. People have said that Susan Boyle is a lot like Kate Smith, who gave the world one of its best versions of The Star Spangled Banner. It has been suggested that Susan sing that, or God Bless America. I would prefer America the Beautiful. Actually, I don't care what she sings. I am sure it would be great. At our big celebrations here, we have had U2 and other groups from the British Isles. Why not Susan Boyle? She too can be greeted by the Statue of Liberty. She can stay as long as she likes. I do hope the Queen will invite Susan to sing, as it seems to mean so much to Susan. Otherwise, guess Queen Elizabeth can just tune into the American party on her new IPod that Obama gave her. Must go to work, but feel happier today, thinking this invitation is the next part of the fairy tale. Enjoy your day, All !

She brought us all together lets try to respect each other and just attack the raggy newspapers. Just a suggestion.....

DAVID, someone told me that background music would impede those working in offices and sneaking a visit to this site from coming here during their work hours. Maybe a button to click on to hear the music?

MORGANTOWN, we've definitely had our own tabloid issues here in the USA.

THECHICKIE, no worries, chere. Messages to Susan of hope, cheer and well-wishes are gleaned from this site and sent along to Susan, filtering out the negative or those that don't pertain.

Thats there problem and probably why they are so miserable, but don't let them make you like them enjoy yourself, don't read newspapers, magazines etc. No one cares about all the junk they might hear weno the media well, they, dig, they lie because they can"t find a job and who patrol's them. Can anybody tell me which TV stations broadcast the events at the white house the 4th of July?

patriciasart is there any way that her music can just start playing when the home page is opened and people use what it seems is the daily update such as this mornings with the announcement of the Whitehouse invite. Then if fans go to click on another link like to listen to a video tribute or media interview the opening songs of Susans would stop and the interview or video soundtract would play.

Interesting article DJG. Don't particularly relish the slightly negative viewpoints of several publicists who allude to Susan not being successful moneymaker. Although I do realize that Susan herself is not in it for the money, there's absolutely no doubt in my mind that she's blown the USA away and there will be SRO, even if they put her in a football stadium.

Everyone wanted a piece of Susan Boyle.Amanda got a gig with CBS news, although I really like her.Piers, will go onto American Idol, and Simon will get rich off of Susan.Plus the London viper tabloids made millions off her because Susan is the hottest thing since Lady Di.Now it is time for Susan to rake in the dough and give the people who are waiting with baited breath to hear her sing and produce CDs and use your God Given Talent. Please big brother, take care of your sister because we have vultures over here too,in America.

Folks, don't flog me for this, but I truly agree with an earlier post that our Prez is an opportunist with every conceivable PR ploy. He jumps into the middle of every popular cause. First it was the NCAA college playoff scenario, and now Susan Boyle. Obama sees an opportunity to bolster his own agenda, nothing more. And again Susan is being used.

The Queen is the Queen but she has the power to change protocol. I hope she adjusts the protocol of the variety event which will be held in December to this year include the top 3 finalists. Susan and the other 2 acts. I just am having trouble remembering their names right now but I do want to say that they also were fabulous. It's a variety show so what better variety than our Susan singing, (heck let Diversity go 1st if need be)so that would be the dance act, and the fabulous Saxaphone playing which concluded the BGT finals. He even said in the interview with him that he was wondering why he always performed last so I'm sure he won't mind wrapping it up.

Cowell rep.: Susan Boyle recovers; career on track By GREGORY KATZ

AP

LONDON -Susan Boyle is getting better after an anxiety attack caused by the pressures of her overnight fame and celebrity judge Simon Cowell plans to help her launch a professional career, Cowell's agent said Tuesday. The Scottish songbird who finished second in the "Britain's Got Talent" competition landed in a London hospital Sunday night after suffering what one of her brothers described as severe anxiety. Show judge Amanda Holden and Max Clifford, who represents Cowell, both said Boyle should recover her equilibrium fairly quickly now that she is getting treatment. Holden said Boyle does not have any underlying mental problems. Clifford said Cowell, the mogul who helped create the show, plans to work with Boyle after she is better to make sure her career gets off to a good start. "She is recovering well," Clifford told The Associated Press after speaking by telephone to Boyle's two brothers. "They are saying they weren't surprised by what happened, due to the speed of everything that happened, with her getting worldwide fame in seconds. Provided she's given a few days and then allowed to be as normal as possible, she should be fine. All she wants to do is sing." The cutthroat show continued to draw criticism in the British press Tuesday for its cavalier attitude toward the well-being of participants, and Britain's independent Ofcom agency, which handles complaints about broadcasting, said an investigation is possible. But attention shifted to speculation about Boyle's future, with most predicting commercial success but some saying she would have a hard time attracting a paying audience. Clifford, who has represented many of Britain's biggest stars, said there is little doubt that there is a public appetite for Boyle. He said her mental stability should not be an impediment provided she is surrounded by people she trusts, either her brothers or close friends from Blackburn, Scotland, her longtime home. "It shouldn't be too difficult to get it under control," he said. "She's going to have potentially huge album sales, particularly in America. Americans absolutely love her. Everyone wants her on their show singing. That gives her massive potential, and Simon will make sure she has the best songs and the best productions." Her brothers have also said she wants to continue her singing career despite the problems in the last few days. It is not clear yet whether Boyle will be well enough to take part in a 17-show "Britain's Got Talent" concert tour set to begin on June 12. Organizers said Tuesday they expect Boyle to perform along with the other nine finalists, but no final decision has been made. Promoters believe that if she recovers fully her real moneymaking potential will be realized in the United States, where she has become a YouTube sensation and been featured on TV shows hosted by Oprah Winfrey and Larry King. "I don't think this collapse would hurt her, especially in America, where they love redemption stories," said concert promoter and publicist Gerry Lyesight. "As long as she recovers fully, she goes back to where she was. You have to assume there's an audience since she got over 100 million YouTube hits. Even if only 1 percent of them are fans, that's still 1 million people." He said his choice would be to present Boyle in smaller venues seating 2,000 to 3,000 fans rather than place her in football stadiums, where she might feel intimidated by the size and scope of the crowd. "That's what I would do, but it may be they are going for the fast buck," he said. Some experts, however, believe Boyle's success on a free television show will not easily translate into a paying audience once she turns pro. "There are questions of if she is a flawed jewel and it will cost too much to polish her up," said Mark Borkowski, a publicist and author. "In the Internet world you can explode overnight, and she can spread with Twitter and YouTube, but that's not going to make her money. The question is whether people will pay the dollar, or two dollars, or 10 dollars or more to see her perform, and I don't think they will." — Associated Press Writer Mike Bushnell contributed to this report.

that Susan sing the hymn of her choosing at the National Cathedral. The acoustics in that place are awesome.

That a press confrence type meeting be set up for Susan to meet some of her USA fans. It could better after the 4July celebration cuz the traffic is horrible that day and security will be suffocating.

She also stop off in Canada too.

I live in Virginia in the USA, and I hope she will indeed perform in the July 4 celebrations -- I'll look forward to seeing her and I'm sure she'll be welcomed with open arms in our country. What better place to upstage the British on that day, by taking the woman their tabloids trashed and putting her front and center onstage with -- are you ready, people? -- NEIL. DIAMOND. Yes, Neil has been booked on the Esplanade for the 4th. Want to see her share the stage with him? E-mail infob4@mugar.com.

@SueandPebbles: Belated note (though belated is like 5 mintues around here with how fast the comments come through!) So very sorry if it seems like it is the Brits us Yanks are bashing. That is absolutely not the case. It is the SHOW - BGT - and the Paparazzi. We have those same vile paps here as well, stalking celebrities waiting for a glimpse of Jennifer Aniston's non-existent cellulite. They are the lowest of the low. I love the Brits - worked for a British company for 3 years and had the time of my life, still stay in touch with all those folks! And the UK gave us Susan Boyle!!!
Posted by BostonAve on June 02, 2009
Where do these people come from? Why can't they use common sense to figure out that if people all over the world are signing up for her CD before it even recorded and talk about hoping to see her in live concert, they are willing to pay to see her sing. I am so tired of these type of comments from people who should probably know better. Susan is a gifted singer and when she is ready to start her career, it will be like no other we have seen yet!!

Susan, your brother said you are feeling better in your interview...that's good news! I am glad you are not letting this get you down.

I was so worried about you, and me of all people, said I would never worry about you but when I saw that so sad face on the way to the hospital, I cried.

You see, President Obama and 1st lady Michelle love your singing. I have always known, since I heard you sing the first time you would go far...and I fully expected to hear you sing in America at some of our National Events...I just did not know when or where...

Now, sure to bring Pebbles, I have 3 cat fans lining up to see her. Does Pebbles teach piano lessons and sing too? My cats need a coach.

I posted this on an article that wondered if people would spend money to see Susan.

This is how I feel: I live in the Dallas, TX area. If Susan were to only come to one place in America I would pay money to travel there and pay good money to see her. That is how appealling she is to me. There's something magnetic about this woman. I think it's her good nature, her beautiful singing and she makes me laugh and cry. I think she brings out real emotion in people. She makes me FEEL..........Makes me HAPPY. She's one of the GOOD things in life. Life's too short to not enjoy the GOOD things.

Lord have mercy, y'all are trying to do me in. I take time out toto do some necessary things, come back, and there has been a deluge. Where to begin?

Noelle, that were me about Bridge over Troubled Waters. But I see us as Susan't Bridge.

david, and some of you others, we all have the Susan addiction, there is no cure, we don't want to be cured, don't fight it, just enjoy it. Ever since the audition tape, I have been consumed with Susan, my life has been taken over, that's all I think about, and it is a permanent condition.
Posted by TXNoelle on June 02, 2009
ELOISE, we loving fans of Susan don't want to bash the Brits. They gave the world Susan Boyle, after all. And Susan Boyle is the "Bridge Over Troubled Waters" for everyone world-wide. It's just the scabloids putting Susan in their slimelight that we deplore.

What a beautiful gesture by our White House to ask Susan to sing there and what a blessing from God to be able to hear her heavenly voice!

Last Post..we are on the move...look, read and listen to yourselves..from the semi-final dress rehersal; where Susan damn near went A-- over tea kettle and what she said was a 'wee cold'...you see a difference in her skin colour and in the final to the point of actually sweating. Was not a wee cold and she was told not to perform that night by her GP...she was tired, her system run down and full blown flu-with a temp - the BGT group already had Susan on stage when her act was announced. Sure she belted out a song...but was totally congested and ill; that's why she was disoriented..she isn't a quitor. Notice when the announcement was about to be made of the winner...she bowed her head and mouthed the word Diversity. Her family and friends are with her not because she went loony..but she needs to stop and take care of herself. Her dream has always been to be a recording star...but remember she never said she wanted to trade in her life of being a wonderful, loving woman; for the glitz, glamour and back biters!!! She is not that type of person. To one bloke...callingmissboyle...you have your say, as is your right..but for all concerned...please STICK A CORK IN YER GLOB..you are just an opinionated dolt full of a mass amount of meadow muffins fer brains...and you know nothing!!!! And also..no one in the village or most importantly her family will take as much of advantage of Susan as has you, BGT and the media!!!

Think about the fact Susan was asked to sing for Mr. Obama several times and was turned down by BGT (I remember a time whe you colonists would not allow a very gifted opera singer sing at your capitol; because she was of colour - so she sang at the steps of the Lincoln Memorial..so what if her appearence in on a certain day...now Mr Obama broke that barrier. Would it not be good to see Susan happy healthy and on the mark??? A sincere message...we are all distressed at the loss of 288+ people on an aeroplane that seems to have been lost...Susan will be okay...give her time and give your prayers and hopes to those who have lost loved ones...including young children. Now onward and forward we go...keep it positive...oops going...

sueandpebbles, I had not heard you felt we were bashing the British. Is that why we haven't been hearing from you. If so, we owe you a big apology. I know I thanked you for all your efforts in voting, and I thank you again. we have vented anger and let off a lot of steam here and probably have not been as careful as we should in how we have expressed things. I do not blame the British people at all, except for people associated with BGT and the tabloids and other media who did their best to destroy her. Please forgive us for upsetting you and let us hear your inpiut again.

Susan thank you for the wonderful performance Saturday Night, its good to see you are taking a break, and come back when YOU are ready, trust your family and friends who will have your best interests at heart. Looking forward to hearing you sing again when you are ready.

Lawdhammercy, DANNYMAC, same here! I had to take Baba Lu out for a potty and come back, grab a sausage and there's so many lovely and interesting and fun comments being made here, I hafta scroll for frito-EVER to read 'em all!

BOSTONAV, I dunno where they come from, but I can see where their heads are....you don't wanna know (wiggles eyebrows).

It's the Brit tabloids -- and the Brit appetite for those tabloids -- and the Brits who reveled in her trashing -- that I'd love to upstage....And here's another reason to bring her to Boston: the concert will be broadcast LIVE on U.S. network television (CBS) from 10 PM to its conclusion. This just gets better and better.
Posted by TXNoelle on June 02, 2009
Eloise, most of the general Brit populace that trashed Susan are probably not old enought to shave or vote and probably not enough life experience to make informed decisions....like....whether or not to pay money for lies.
Posted by david on June 02, 2009
got another one of those thoughts as a continue to read some fabulous posts. First I do apoligize to the Brits was any negative remarks I may have made but I don't think I did but in any event you deserve an apology. Now for the thought.....When I look at the Red, White and Blue Strips of the British flag and add to that same color scheme of the American flag.....I can't help but think of the unity of the combination of the stars and stripes of the american flag and what better way to celebrate that unity and goodwill and peace than 2 major world powers who have had their differences in the past sharing the gift of Susan Boyle. She's an icon now not just because of her ability to sing and release the emotions she stirs in each of us. She's Britian and Scotlands gift to our troubled world. Susan Boyle came into our lives not to early nor to late but at just the right time, when GOD knew we needed her.

Simply and exquisitely eloquently put, DAVID. Bravo!
Posted by purplegothicqueen on June 02, 2009
Please don't dare label all us British the same please Eloise. I watched GMTV today and the spectacular news coverage coming across from the states regarding Susan was quite disconcerting. I certainly have not bought any of those rags that have Susan spread on their front covers. I do know though from my brother that the latest news is that she collapsed at the hotel and her "bizarre" behaviour was actually one of confusion. Peter offered to bring the paper around for me to see but I didn't want to upset myself any more reading about her. I did vote for Susan and did so numerous times. I don't know if one can blame BGT completely. They didn't know that one contestant would be thrown into such stardom so soon. I believe the press is like this all over the world.

Susan will have a welcome break from it all soon anyway as Big Brother is starting over here shortly and there will be plenty of gossip from the house.

I don't understand why the papers all turned against her like they did. It could be out of jealousy and spite or that they thought it would just make a good story.

Best thing to do is boycott the tabloids and magazines now and let Susan recover.
Posted by YooperSue on June 02, 2009
To gardenator on June 02, 2009 who said "That break from Britain is so 18th century. Heck, they are reporting that Obama has invited Iran to join in our 4th of July." That's also a tabloid lie. Check other sources.

Eloise: Americans revel in trashing too and it is strange and sad. We put people we admire up on a very high and lovely-smelling pedestal and then we start to attack them mercilessly through our yellow journalism. I guess the human race has always done this. Take what we did to Jesus for example. Same attacks, different day. Odd.
Posted by susanknows on June 02, 2009
A quote: "The Mirror reveals contestants will now face far more detailed psychological tests to guarantee they are capable of performing under massive pressure and facing up to worldwide media scrutiny."

This is incorrect and unfair. Learning disabilities don't make anyone any sadder than anyone else. Susan is sad about being gratuitously abused. After the show was over and she saw that not complaining had netted her nothing, she cried and cried. All she wanted to do was sing not fight battles. She told us from the outset she was a virgin and never been kissed. She said, there, that's over with, let me just sing.

Susan didn't want Piers' charity. Because Piers made a stupid mistake and showed his true colours as an oaf, Susan has to pay the price, and they are using her disability as her crime. If they weren't able to seize on that, it would be something else. As callingmissboyle has repeatedly said, a learning disability or brain damage is not a crime, nor is it an insult, or something to deny in one's hero. Learning-disabled means a person can't learn in the way that a country's schools are set up for the norm i.e. how the majority learns. Susan and others may be too smart for how this is set up. If Piers is getting way with what he did then he has learned well how to survive in present day Britain. A+ to him... Susan doesn't see the logic in it, and is sad that she is being forced to be like Piers. She undoubtedly expressed her right, her human right, after the show to go home and they brought in the war measures act against her for saying "I hate this." Susan knows what's what, and THIS is her perceived crime. But they will never ever admit it. Especially Gordon Brown.

Sorry, I was wrong. I checked other news sources and the Obama administration has authorized U.S. embassies around the world to invite Iranian officials to Independence Day parties they host on or around July 4th. A State Department cable sent to all U.S. embassies and consulates late last week said that U.S. diplomats could ask their Iranian counterparts to attend the festivities, which generally feature speeches about American values, fireworks, hot dogs and hamburgers. The notice, sent on Friday, said that the posts "may invite representatives from the government of Iran" to the events, a State Department official said Tuesday, quoting from the document. The official spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss an internal communication. It was not immediately clear how many embassies and consulates would actually invite Iranian diplomats to the July 4 parties or whether any Iranians would accept the invitations.

The Prime Minister Gordon Brown and President Obama! I can't wait to hear you sing again. It will truly be a great Fourth of July for my country.

Please don't forget the fact that there are millions of us who live in Canada and many other countries who are just as enthusiastic about Susan as the British and Americans. Why do there have to be any divisions and claims on Susan anyway? She matters equally to everyone who admires and loves her singing. If people would just remember the real reason for this club - to give support to Susan Boyle - things would run much more smoothly!
Posted by Lonnirose on June 02, 2009
I just sent another scathing blast to the AP for daring to ask whether anyone would pay to see Susan. That really ticks me off! I let them know that there are millions of people who would pay ANYTHING to see Susan. We have to keep fighting this war for her, folks. They have got to stop beating up on Susan in the press. I have discovered that you can get in touch with anybody by simply googling the word "contact" before the name.

@suesuesue!!! I agree with you. This has exposed such a dark side to BGT. No one should ever be have to be carted off to a hospital because of a television talent show. No children should be so completely traumatized that they break down on camera and are made to feel so utterly defeated. BGT knew that 20 million people weren't tuning in to watch dance acts and child singers. Susan was their goose laying the golden eggs and they are absolutely guilty of exploiting her. Susan simply didn't need BGT past the first 20 million hits on youtube, it's just a fact that BGT didn't really have anything else to offer her. BGT is the one needing Susan. I will never again watch or support any of those shows. It's a shame, because they are the ones who brought us Susan. I know there are more talented people out there who deserve a break, but I can't participate in this anymore, it's just too damaging. I do hope that BGT and Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Piers Morgan are held accountable for their actions. On the one hand they may genuinely care about Susan, but it was their greed for higher ratings and notoriety for themselves that lead to the exploitation of Susan. That is what turned our dream into a horror show. I couldn't be more disgusted with the outcome and the pathetic spin that this is somehow good for Susan. No this is not good for Susan, my heart is just breaking for her. Hurry to the USA Susan, we love you.

What is happening to us here? Some of our longtime and most loyal to Susan supporters talking about leaving? I do not like this. navyvet, I hope I misunderstood the message you just posted about last post. I have not liked a lot of things that I have seen here recently, but you know how I and many others. most I hope, feel. You have read our posts, talking about how exhausted and sick and unhappy Susan looked at the finals, how atrocious BGT has been, milking every last bit of benefit for themselves out of Susan, not caring what it all was doing to her. You know we have said over and over, that Susan needs desperately to go home for a while, rest, process what all has happened to her since her video hit youtube. I was saying well before that last horrendous week that I hoped as soon as it came to an end that she could go someplace and have some peace. She has been used and abused without question. And no matter that some still want to excuse BGT and think that Simon and Piers will do what's best for her, I do not buy that at all. Sorry, Noelle, I know you said we should take the subject private but I've got to say this at the top of my voice. They are vampires and almost sucked all her blood. The certainly managed to suck out her joy, which I look forward to seeing bloom again. Did no one else think about the fact that with Susan standing there trembling the two guys dragged out the announcement of the "winner" as long as they could, not caring what having to keep standing there was doing to Susan. Piers and Simon knew what condition Susan was in, they could have given directions to have that little routine changed, even though it was SOP if they gave a s--t about Susan. I'm just trying to say navyvet, you know that many of fee this way so don't toss us all in that other category. And please stay with us. BGT turning down White House requests, is just more reason for me to despise them, and for Susan to get free of them

As for callingmissboyle, some of us have called her out a number of times. She is beyond bizarre, and something definitely needs to be .done

Something not good is happening to us here. Do we have trolls among us undermining our unity? I'm puzzeled, but concerned.
Posted by Lonnirose on June 02, 2009
Ok, realize this now folks. Susan NEVER said she hated the show - that was another tabloid lie! After the show she celebrated with the rest of the contestants. According to all of them, she was happy and congratulated Diversity for winning. Every member of the performing cast said they found her a very sweet, kind lady. Don't believe the lies and keep fighting till we shut the slimey tabloids up once and for all. She's going to leave them in the dust with egg on their faces, mark my words!

In some ways aren't I am guilty of participating in the frenzy of thrusting our adoration on Susan for 7 weeks. I couldn't get enough of her and craved more every minute of every day. I am guilty of adding to her pressure and building her up to my expectations for her to win BGT. I am guilty of allowing Susan to think she let me down by not winning a talent show. How ignorant and selfish I feel that I may have played such a roll in causing her to feel she let me down even though she was emotionally drained. I apoligize to you Susan and want you to know you didn't let me down, I let you down. But you are the better person as you faced your demons and gave the world the performance of your life. And now after all you've gone through you still want to continue to share your gift, your talent with me.....just one speck here on earth who actually let you down, and I can only hope you'll forgive me for the pressure I put on you and thank you for continuing to brighten each new moment of life.

Okay Fans I use the word I when I really wanted to say we but that would not be the right thing to do as we all have individual voices and choices but I do feel responsible for placing such high expectations on another of GODS creations, thus I apologize

I just sent a note to the White House, and here is what I said:

Thank you for inviting Susan Boyle to sing at the White House on July 4th. You have made her day! She has been a wee bit under with stress for all the media hype, and I cannot think of a more perfect way for her to emark on her career.

All she ever wanted "was to make something out of her life", and little did she know how much she gave to the world so far, and how much happiness she will bring to everyone in the future.

Every time she sings, every word has brought a special meaning to all of us throughout the world. She sings from the heart thru her faith in God and Humanity. She gives us Hope!

Maybe, this is too much to ask, but she stated that Donny Osmond was her idol when she was growing up, and she actually learned to sing by singing his songs. Maybe you could bring Donnie & Marie Osmond to the White House to sing, too. They are so talented, as well. Just a thought!

Forever grateful.

IDEA...Now that this fansite is so large, and "we are one big think tank", let's think of more productive ways we as American's can deal with our own TV channels that are still trashing/talking. IF we channel our energy in our own countries then we won't be stepping on each others toes. WE have enough to deal with our major stations here. Britian can deal with theirs ..so on ..and so on. Just a suggestion. I would hate to see this fansite fall apart because of hurt feelings. WE ARE STILL UNITED..I like what David said about the flags above!! BRILLIANT. A united flag with SUSAN's PICTURE IN EVERY STAR!!!! :) OUR NEW FLAG!! COUNTRIES UNITED...GREAT FANSITE IDEA

I love the Brits - they're half my heritage, and I'd like nothing better than to go over there and see that beautiful country. We're hating the tabloids - wherever they're from - for hurting Susan. We have some nasty rags here, too, and they're just as guilty of hurting people. We just have to keep e-mailing them, protesting anything said about Susan that isn't positive. We have to SHUT THESE B******* UP!

If Susan could rest up and recover from all this, and be freed to have some decent people to help her with her career, and regained enough of her joy to still want to continue with her dream as is now possible I would be so relieved. Some time away from the presence and influence of BGT and Simon and Piers would work wonders.

I am so delighted with the news, that our beloved Lady Susan will come to us, to the USA, and will sing in the White House for our President! I am sure, this is what she wants, nobody pressures her, we know, that the cause of her anxiety was the thought, that people wouldn't be interested in her singing any more. This invitation - to come to the USA - will be reassuring to the highest degree, and will help our darling Susan to recover very soon - she is an artist, a real one, and she can't be happy without performing. Please, don't dwell so much upon Susan's so called "learning disabilities". She is a perfectly normal, shrewd, witty, brilliantly talented person, with magnificent voice and not less magnificent musicality and interpretational gift, and we, her fans, shouldn't discuss so much, what has happened at her birth - it is totally irrelevant, it is proved 100% by her glorious singing! She has a tremendous musical talent, and there is NOTHING wrong with her in ANY other aspects! We'll buy your CDs,we'll come to your concerts, our beloved Susan, never have a moment of worry about it! Come to US,we'll treat you like a Queen - you are our Queen!

Love you, Susan,

All the best to you,

Isn't it time we just accept that Susan did not "win" the BGT final, for whatever reason? That is over and in the past now. There is nothing we can do now to change that, no matter how much we rehash the subject. Don't forget that she has touched the hearts of millions of people, people who do want to pay to buy her CDs, or see her perform in person. Let her have time to come to terms with all that has happened to her these past few weeks. I know we are all very frustrated at what has happened and that really we can't change what happened. I am one who believes that everything happens for a reason. This is Susan's life and now she needs time to come to a place that she is comfortable with in her life. I am sure had I been in her shoes I would have been overwhelmed with all that happened. I am sure her mind was in overdrive, thinking of what had happened and what ifs. She just needs time to let everything settle in. At least the pressure of performing in BGT is over. I hope that she will come out of this with renewed hope. Selfishly, I hope that she wants to continue to sing and will do so, on her terms and in her own good time. I hope that she will re-emerge, happy knowing that people want to hear her sing again and yet not feeling pressured by people to quickly release a CD. For now, I 'll be content to listen once again to those songs that she has shared with us.

Just watched this again: http://www.susan-boyle.com/video/Susan-Boyle-Sings-New-Song-Whis good remiders from SUSAN to us in the lyrics! Lonnirose: Thanks for checking into Amazon about the CD logistics and chatter. Anyone ever check out the USA Susan Boyle Fan site and blog? Some nice things going on there too. Great fabulous attitudes and attention focused on Lady Susan's behalf. Here it is if interested: http://www.blogcatalog.com/blog/susan-boyle-fan-club-usa

There are a few comments on Amazon about Susan, and they're all very positive. I can't find an e-mail address so far - still looking. Gonna buzz some more tabloids and goose 'em.
Posted by bajaraquel on June 02, 2009
Just e-mailed the White House telling them there will be a revolt if Susan's performance is not televised. Am waiting for CIA to knock on my door any minute.

Mark who? This guy is riding the coat tails of Susan's fame trying to rile everyone just like the tabloids. The dork can say what he wants but the world will prove him wrong when we buy her CD's and buy all the tickets to her concert so jerks like him can't come.

The greatest thing about this site is the number of countries represented, proving Susan's world appeal. I am guilty of sucking the positive energy off the site to keep my spirits up.

Now if someone would be kind enough to help me post my suggestion for the headline contest, I'd appreciate it. My laptop power cord blew (from shock and my leaping out of bed and dropping it on the floor) just as they announced Diversity as the winner.

Whats wrong with that Larry King! I just came from his site. They are making it sound like Susan's cracking up! Her brother aleady stated she was just tired,as did Piers ect. Everyone is just trying to ride on her coat tails . I hope she can get to go home soon and this dies down. Although I saw pics of the paparazzi camped outside the clinic like squatters.Reminds me of vultures !

Wow, quite the backlash to callingmissboyle. He sure has brought out the trolls. I happen to know that he is not associated in any way with these right-to-life movements or has any right-wing agenda. He is an individual with experience who simply wants the truth to be known about brain damage, learning disabilities, as well as the scam of "brain death" and organ donation. He really doesn't want Susan Boyle to become an example of why people should put their brain-injured family members out of their misery and kill them by giving them up for organs. Saving people's lives is not such a bad thing, is it? Lay off.
Posted by Fassbrig on June 02, 2009
I am glad to say that i rarely buy newspaprers, certainly not the tabloids. Their treatment of Susan has been nothing short diabolical. And what is worse there are some people who believe what they read! Even if Susan releases a CD, i hope she makes enough money to be able to live comfortably without any worries on that front. But i believe we will hear alot more of Susan. She gave a wonderful performance in the Final despite how ill she was feeling. I really do hope the offer from the President is accurate. I may have to move to the US!

I just want to let all know from all different countries that I am multi-ethnic, Celtic and I have a very multi-ethnic family with bi-racial g/children to boot. If I have made any remarks (and it's entirely possible, bec I have tendency to fall into nationalistic rut occasionally) in any of my posts that smack of nationalism, I apologize for it right now.

I don't truly have any hard feelings for any other ethnicity or nationality. The only type person I shudder over is one with an attitude or superiority complex. You know what I'm talkin' about...judgMENTAL people...and yes, I've been guilty of that, as well.

The thing is...I'm trying to change. I need to change and I recognize that in myself.
Posted by susaphile on June 02, 2009
Susan was and is the winner of BGT! It occurred to me that all three judges were very misguided in their comments after each of her appearances. They continually dredged up every aspect of negativity expressed in the media at every opportunity. As an Australian, I'm putting it on the public record that I'll be voting for a Republic if the Queen doesn't extend an invitation to Susan in regard to her participation in the Royal Command Performance!
Posted by husker2 on June 02, 2009
'Star Spangled Banner' or 'God Bless America'? Or both?

Let's see.. About $700.00 round trip to Washington, DC from Phoenix, AZ? Not including hotel.

Might still be worth it!

Screw these tabloid fish wrap's who say her professional career is done! I just may do this.

@tweek: How has a fan site for Susan Boyle suddenly become a forum for Frankenstein-heads? These comments are entirely inappropriate and do not belong on this blog. They should get off this fan site and start a site of their own called "E-mails from the Crypt".

Just sent an e-mail to Larry King asking him to please be nice in his comments about our Susan. I WAS NICE, I swear. Don't want to tick him off BEFORE the program. Of course, who knows if their e-mails are actually read? Anyway I tried. Also wrote to the W. Lothian Courier and asked them why they hadn't carried the story about Susan at the White House. Aside from that, what are y'all talking about - what differences?
Posted by AZJanet on June 02, 2009
Scrooge, fellow AZonian, we'll just keep 'em in check with our positive river of love and good vibes in the meantime, and maybe swoon them to convert as it's sure a lot more fun and lasting. There are many many Nz'ers (kiwi's) that send Susan love and support and our prayers are with her. The future belongs to her and her alone.

I had an idea. Since so many of you are sending emails to new outlets complaining about their negative treatment of Susan, how about sending an email with some positive news about our fan site here? Surely over 21,000 members is not a trivial fan site, I would think. Especially since it's only been open what, less than a month? It could be a nice human interest story, even in our local papers. How we have members from across the globe, and are united in our praise of Susan and anxiously await CDs and performances.
Posted by Bei Bei on June 02, 2009
I am from Hong Kong reading news from BGT one day and knew Susan Boyle. Then I search every video on her performance and she is really great. Susan, no matter what result is and how the media writes, your performance is really really great. Susan, hope you get well soon. God Bless.

Susan will sing whatever the Prez tells her to sing. Something tells me it will not be a patriotic melody, as that might be pushy and, at a minimum, inappropriate to ask of a non-American. There are many inspirational songs to chose from. Whatever it is, I will be watching or taping the PBS Special!

Whoever had the idea of a plane load of fans from every state showing up in Washington is brilliant

It's just as plain as day to me: people who have sense and sensibility, as Jane Austen would put it, would definitely pay good money to be able to bask in Susan's warm presence ad her her sing live. Even here, in Puerto Rico, right smack in the middle of the Caribbean and so far away from England, dear Ms. Boyle as a gigantic following. I foresee great things for her future the most important of them being that she will not be forgotten, she will not be cast aside. She will not be a "one hit wonder"; she will forever be Susan, the voice that reached deep into our soulds and reminded us we must see people for who and what they are and not what they look like. I join "Angelito" in wishing Susan the best. I too will be glued to the TV set on the 4th of July, eager to see her and hear her sing at the White House. Stay strong, Susan, Puerto Rico is behing you!

Mantra of support for Susan Boyle's new career: I accept only good things for Susan, the good that is known and the good that has yet to be revealed. I give thanks that it is so.
Posted by chtimi7 on June 02, 2009
I hope it's not an other lie of the press. I prefer to see a confirmation by the White House. That would be a great décision from a Great President.

Great news! What Susan's brother said really makes my day! I definitely wouldn't like Susan to be a shooting star. David, I agree with you, we are all part of a system that has the power to tear our highest hopes to pieces. We may be guilty of using available media facilities to get information about people we are fond of and this can proove really heavy on their shoulders as it is for Susan. But without today's very fast and sophisticated media people in America, for example, would probably never have heard of Susan. The only fact we must always bear in mind is thet though we may be genuinely interested inour stars, they derserve respect as humare thing

If we all send a message to Prez. Obama thanking him for inviting Susan, he'll have to do it, even if it's only a rumor. But her brother reported it and it was carried in The UK Daily Recorder, so I think it's on the level.

when Susan leaces the clinic if she hasn't already. I sure that it will be a very secret escape back to Scotland via a delivery van or something during the wee hours off into the night and straight to Simons private jet to shuttle her home. Again late at night would be best. And being her neighbors are sincerely looking out for Susan's best interests I'm certain they won't be speaking to reporters like they did, at least not outside her home. And if Simon is true to his word on protecting her there will be a few big dudes outside her door. And being the top goverment officials have been genuine in their concern I'd say there will be ample police presense around but not in an obvious and military way. Thank goodness for plain clothes.

Ferne, if I have to go beat up Larry King, you can come too. I've felt like hurting somebody for days until this morning when I heard that Prez-O came through for Susan. I've been writing newspapers and TV stations just about all day. By the way, NBC and CBS told me they don't accept e-mail suggestions and to write a letter. They can bite me! They're gonna look pretty silly when the other stations carry the story and they just say WHUUUT?

Susan, I am an American woman, 51 years of age. I wish you to know that I, and everyone in my family, think you are a beautiful lady. You are able to stand on a stage and make people feel better by just opening your mouth and letting your fantastic voice soar. I have never been as moved by hearing someone sing, as when I heard you for the first time. You have a great smile, sparkling eyes and a personality that comes through in your singing. Ignore all the cretins in the world who would exploit you or say bad things about you. Please stay true to yourself and your beliefs. And never stop singing. You make the world a better place to live in. I look forward to hearing more from you in the future. I will definitely buy any recording you release. Good Luck, Susan Boyle.

BEIBEI in Hong Kong, so lovely to have you here on Susan's Fan site. Don't worry, Susan will get your message!

PIGGIE, sending out positive announcements re: fan site is good. It just may be a little premature articulation, bec we really need to be ready to rumble with trolls that will come from those announcements.

JANE, I agree with non-patriotic choice of music for Susan's USA debut. Susan is "Open Arms" of love for all personified

ADELITA from PR, welcome to Susan's Fan site! Very lovely post!

I have CNN on right now and Larry King live is promoting tonight's show with Amanda Holden as guest about Susan. They are still talking about her so called "breakdown" and stress. I hope before the show airs tonight that Larry knows about Obama's invitation to Susan. This should be interesting. :)

I'd love to be a fly on her wall when she walks in and her face lights up with that smile of hers that warms all our hearts as she is once again with her PEBBLES. It's been very apparent in articles that have been very positive about this whole thing, and even expressed by her brother that she wants to be would her cat. Talk about the unconditional love of a pet. I'm praying PEBBLES is one of those cats that live into their 20's. She needs PEBBLES to love as much as we need Susan. Also I must say I've been impressed with Susan's brother and his willingness to share with the world his conversations and thoughts. Intially I didn't care for him when early on he stated in an interview that she should pull out of BGT as she's bigger than BGT and should pursue her dream in America. He continued to support her though in her decision to continue following her dream. 50 years from now all over the world when I'm dead and buried children all over the world in every language will here from their parents the tale of Susan Boyle and following your dreams. Back to Susans brother I don't know what his job is but her certainly presents himself well and is dapper and well spoken. I'm confident that he has been appointed by Susans siblings to be their spokesman and to protect her interests, he's doing an excellent job and I applaud him.

Folks, I'm planning to send Susan a nice card - I know how to address it, etc. What I'm thinking is that it would be great if we could all write a little note to Susan, I could print it out and put it in the card. What do you thnk? We could just have a whole page of love and support - nothing too long - so she knows how loved she is and can be assured that her recording career is on track. From what her brother said she's afraid nobody will want to hear her sing, and we need her to know that we certainly do. Oh, and put where you're from so she knows she's loved worldwide. What about it?

LonnieRose, did susan get our first card of support before the show? She has to know that there are millions who love and support her. How about the flowers? Wouldn't now be a good time?

I'm again feeling sad for diversity. I don't see this kind of LOVE and continued world press coverage on their win, and I am feeling quite happy to continue to congradulate them on winning the talent show. Our motto here has been and we now understand fully that we should never judge a book by it's cover. Susan has also changed my belief that to win is to come in first. Susan changed my mind and if this is what coming in second is.....I'll take it over 1st anyday!

when I wrote earlier today to the Larry King site I requested that he be genuine in his words and questions with Susan's best interest coming first. He is seen the world over and we have to appreciate he was one of the first to introduce Susan to the world in his interview with her even though some of the questions and remarks were demeaning. I just asked in the e-mail that he help Susan to heal and return healthy to a WORLD who loves her. If not then he'll be the subject of tomorrows wrath instead of praise.

Vote for Susan by going to Amazon and pre-ordering her first CD if you haven't already. That is the best way now to show that it is she who is the real winner. And it will convince her that she is wrong if she thinks she has lost a single fan!

I just spent a few minutes slamming ABC's British tabloid-based article on their site today.

They didn't even get her nationality right! The article starts off saying she is 'English'. I am stunned at the ignorance of so-called journalists. Anyhow, almost all the comments there are slamming them. I won't be going back as the best way to let them know what garbage they are is to boycott them altogether.

Drown out the nasty tabloids with positive press for Susan. Mail in videos to the networks honoring her, like TommyUSA's beautiful tributes eg.

Amanda has not posted my comment on her blog where I requestion of her that she NOT speak for Susan. I'm afraid I blasted her for her articles, one on the semi-final where she never even mentioned Susan, and the one on the Final where she said she was glad that Diversity won. No wonder she hasn't posted it! Lol!

But, maybe she got my message which was basically that she would have a short career here in the US if she did not show respect for Susan, and to refrain from pretending she represents Susan on Larry King tonight. She wrote a far more flattering article about Susan on her blog today, although still pushing the 'show' and 'herself'.

I will not be watching BGT again either. Never heard of any of them until I saw Susan's video.

As for Simon, I think Susan would be in good hands with him as he is handling Paul Potts eg who seems to be doing very well. And I do think Susan broke through his tough shell as he cried when she sang in the final.

Piers was wrong imo, to play on Susan's emotions and lead her to believe he was interested in her. But I'd say it was more out of ignorance of how that could affect her than malice of any kind. He is trying to make up for that I think.

The real culprits in all of this are the vicious, nasty tabloids and we should not allow them or anyone to shift the blame, even to BGT. She would have been fine had it not been for them.

Now off to listen to Susan's final performance as I have only heard it once.

G’day loyal fan, friends, & supporters: was surprised to find 51 blogs with the countless post on each of them. After reading a number of them, I was oblige to get involved. This long time “wannabe Pom” agrees with Kalua and the other who wonder why we are dissecting all of this. It is Ms. Boyle’s life. She is not a victim and never was during the BGT event. BGT and the media created this “false personality of Ms. Boyle. As much as everyone is genuinely concern, are we not in a perverse kind of way, adding to the hype or sensation the simple Simon is relishing on, so that he can capitalize to promote her? We all seem to agree that he and BGT miss the fantastic talent of Susan Boyle and could have successfully promoted her without the pain & suffering and humiliation she had to endure. There is a very interesting exchange between bfy and generator that would behoove all to read. I believe it was in the “Susan is the winner” blog. It starts with a long letter to Mr. Morgan it which the author suggest to BGT to come up with some alternative to have her excused and given a special title in lieu of her worldwide popularity. This could have been done by acknowledging her being beyond this contest and done in fairness to the other contestants. Something they each felt from the beginning. As Amanda of the first press coverage, “It like she already won!” They were all voicing and predicting a huge successful future career even if Ms. Boyle did not win. (Unless to cover their butts.) Were they just too ignorant and insecure to know the grand scale of her talent they had with her? Hmmm. This fan club did! A flawless diamond as Amanda would have said had she known what real talent is. Back to the interesting exchange of bfy/generator, they analyzed Ms. Boyle genuine confident demeanor and concluded a very different Susan Boyle than this circus tabloid media B…S… created! Here is what I got an concur and adding some (my) input: An un shy, unassuming, genuine Susan Boyle confidently walk on stage with an immense amount of intestinal fortitude, toughness, spirited humor aura about her, poised herself against a hostile jeering audience and three snide insulting judges, all the while knowing of her grand talent to blow them all away. (I don’t anyone who could have with stood the ridicule Ms. Boyle was subjected too.) When the audition was over and she finally prove herself, she proudly walk backstage where she is confronted two stagehands who reel her from this composed state of self worth with the Piers’ remark of the “biggest yes,” to emotionally jolt her. This, the author of the letter surmises, is where she is charmed and weakened by this one judge. (Shortly after, on Larry King, he asks her out for a dinner date. Here we also see a modest lady composed enough to sing on call without music. That to me, is no shy person but instead a confident one.) Does not blow him a kiss during final substantiate being betrayed by the man had feeling for and trusted…. changed the word “that” to “which” and explains the specificity to Piers (makes sense) Read exchange to see gardinator conclusion: What a compelling character………..can’t be patronized, dominated or controlled… (Has the character to dismissed being patronized as we saw when Oprah tried to. Susan gave curt answers, which puts Oprah in check) (On being under presser Susan question quizzically: “What pressure?”) (On being shy and on stage Susan answer: “I love it! I’m amongst friends aren’t I?”) On fame: “I famous worldwide am I not?” (On the crazy dancing and lifting of gown: Anybody can do that, I can, see) On BBC news, was reported: threw a glass of water at show director and said she hated show….go on you Susan! How dare they compare your rare talented singing to skilled dancer. Brazen Concur w/bfy&gardinator dignified Ms Boyle may have gotten her chance but at a horrible cost If we care about protecting Ms Boyle, maybe all should (stand together) and discuss bfy suggestion for a “mad money fund” so she may be able to solicit sincere people if need be, as Demi, Ashton and Brian Williams of MSNBC (who on Google list a Music savvy guru) three who we know appreciated Ms. Boyle like us. I would not trust anyone w/BGT including PIERS they had their chance to put her health and interest first and failed. (Max Clifford on BBC) This way she can have a way out. No one can explain the secrets of the heart so I guess we leave that one alone. Seeing the story from the prospected of their exchange, I see a person of strong character that knows exactly what she is doing. Let us not insult this most dignified person by trying to feel sorry for her. Instead, let her be amongst friends that she can sing to that appreciate her to the fullest! She got the chance she wanted….How lucky the world. One more: On Obama, we should not speculate and comment, how do we know if a commitment to sing to the Queen was made to someone? ……….Blessing to Susan and all her wonderful fan around the world “a new day has begun”

Could one of our creative video designers out there who have been so generous with their contributions that inspire us. Put together something to keep our spirits raised once we get confirmation of her accepting the invitation to the Whitehouse. I's like to see something uplifting and patriotic, there was a lot of good CD's after 911 that alot of us were buying to help us heal. And the pictures in the video could include not only some great shots of Susan as we have many. But also President Obama, maybe that shot on inaguration day of 2 million people standing there in the cold as we welcomed history. The words to place over the pictures could tell the story of her journey into modern day history and conclude with a beautiful shot of the Washington monument with the fireworks finally going off in the background (it's available in archived photos) with Susans bright smile imposed of that background welcomoing her anticipated arrival in America.

Out of interest did anyone accross the pond every see Alexandra Burke who won the last X Factor.Great girl with a fabulous voice.....she sang' Allelujah' which was a big hit.I just mention this because she had real difficulties towards the final and was always in tears...would be good to hear her views on this

Piggie, if we just pick a specific time and just say OK, GO, then everyone can just post it here, I'll print it, and send it in the card. Susan needs reassurance right now that people are still interested in her and want to hear her sing, according to her brother. He said she takes everything very seriously - I'm assuming that means she is quite sensitive - so if we can let her know how much we care it might help with her recovery.
Posted by Bobber2 on June 02, 2009
You people do realize the good thing that this means don't you....that the President Of The United States has asked again for Susan to come and sing....Here's what it will mean....it will mean the Queen Of England probably is going to in the next few days invite Susan to sing to her as well to make her dream come true. I wouldn't even doubt that this was planned by the Queen herself who wants to give Susan the honour of singing before the head of state. It may not be the Variety Village but at another time or location. :-)

Wow, I love OBAMA I am a Canadian and we watched the election coverage up here and we danced and jumped for joy when he won in a land slide. It's truly an honour for her to be asked by the president himself to join the celebration. Susan is a strong woman, she never gave up her dream, always put others first and for the first time in her life she's had others put her first. I really hope she does this but only if she's ready for it.

We all love you Susan.

Just another thought, forget american idol, BGT, America's got talent and the what seems to be a franchised chain by Simon that if you have a country he has a show for you. Let some courageous person out there raise the stakes and have a world wide talent exibition of talent where everyone in free world can have a chances to chase their dream. Let it not be judged by the likes of Simon or Piers or Paula or anyone tarnished by the past. Let the voting be done through the miracle of the internet and the ability for the world to see the show. We should all be thankful that though we couldn't vote and I certainly hope that changes as a result of lesson learned, BGT did allow it to be streamlined to the worls and gave us the opportunity to all seem in real time the performances as they happened. There have been many windows open and maybe a few doors closed which is a good thing. We all learn from our mistakes and hopefully become better people as a result. And finally getting back to the onstage judges....I'm for Susan once better being there for that frightened human who faces a world stage and her genuine words of support which I'm certain she would share. This woman has an education now that no other single person in history has. We call it street smarts but to the degree Susan has endured she could be the one that history now shows that hopefully it will never happen again.

Susan Boyle, we couldn't possibly love you more if we didn't really, really LIKE YOU, too! Your love of life and love and kindness toward people has inspired everyone who's heard you from every country in the world. Susan you're open-armed love without borders. It's a brand new day for the world, too. Your impact on this planet is earth-shaking, my little earth angel.

Rest easy and know for sure that you are beloved, Susan.

Is this the second invitation from President Obama or first? At one point Susan declined the visit because she felt that she just wasn't ready to begin meeting dignitaries. But if she is now ready then that's awesome!!
Posted by tweek on June 02, 2009
midllow31, that is correct. Any mail going thru the post office in Scotland will get to Susan Boyle. One person addressed his card to: Susan Boyle, Scotland, however,

you are better to address it this way:

Susan Boyle Blackburn-West Lothian, Scotland

Oh Lonnirose I love reading your posts. I bet you are one cool lady!!!! Also, you are definitely someone I would want on my side. LOL!!

LEG, the first prez invitation was extended to Susan pre-finals and turned down bec BGT finalists weren't allowed to make any appearances for anyone else except media until their obligation to BGT is satisfied. The second invitation has just been announced here by site-owner with connections to Susan's family. We wait to hear when she accepts.

You truly have a beautiful voice and congrats to your invite to sing at the White House... Keep singing. You are a wonderful person.... kathy

Oh folks, and be sure to mention that we've ordered her CD and will buy as many as she produces. She's worried that nobody will buy them - can you imagine! Lordy, I wish Susan had a computer.

Susan is sensational inside and out. Her singing is electric. Susan has brought millions to the Les Miserables music and the singers therein. Susan has enhanced the sales of cds, itunes, and upcoming live performances of Les Miserables in Vancouver and Montreal, Canada. Susan Boyle is precious. Please handle her with respect, care, and love. Canada loves Susan Boyle. We will buy her cd's.

We hope Susan Boyle made money after all the advertising she brought to the show, and for all the scrutiny that she had to endure.
Posted by TXNoelle on June 02, 2009
Will do, LONNI.

Dearest Susan, I wish you a quick recovery after all you have done for the world. You made the world shining brighter in the universe. Please rest well, take a break or even holidays, cuddle with Pebbles soon in the knowledge that tens of millions around the world love you.

Kind Regards, Reinder (male-43 years old) Belgium

@TXNoelle - premature articulation - love it! I'm going to have to steal that sometime. @everyone else - since there is no release date yet, you can't actually pre-order the CD, but you can get them to send you an email alert when it is available. Also put it in your wish list on amazon, so it will eventually show up on the "most wished for" album listing! (hopefully)

@Ammie: Once Susan begins her real career, I'm sure her "staff" will create an official website for her, not just a fan site. All performance dates, CDs, news, etc will be posted there.
Posted by Bonnie B. Price on June 02, 2009
Susan simply must recover her health soon, because the world's breathlessly awaiting her next act! A CD would be excellent. But, a world tour is a must! She's equal to Pavarotti, so she deserves a world stage. A White House concert is a fine beginning for her world tour. Go for it, Susan!

CBS here in the States is Hiring Amanda Holden after watching her on BGT in April..Wonder what happened on BGT in "April" that had CBS in USA looking?...LOL..It was April 25th they offered her this job. Amanda got her opportunity thanks to Susan Boyle. She has admitted that.

Susan you brought others fame and fortune. You deserve some yourself. We will buy your cd. Look forward and sing for the world. Stay positive and calm. The following appeared in a n article: "The actress, Amanda Holden, 38, will present the CBS daytime news talk programme The Early Show - and already Amanda's Got Butterflies! "Network executives were blown away by Amanda's cut-glass British accent and warm personality," said a studio source. "

Susan, you need to go home and be with family, friends and Pebbles for a while and when you are feeling stronger that is the time to make decisions about your future. As well as performing for the President, I hope you fulfil your dream to sing before the Queen at the Royal Variety Performance.

What caught my attention...out of all of this is...she like me, shes like thousands of people....you can walk down the street and no one gives you a second glance. I think I have my head screwed on right, but I couldn't deal with this sort of thing. Its such a shame that there are nasty, negative people out there..it would be great to meet Susan and tell her it will be ok...but..oh well..suppose the idiots out there make the world go round eh!!

Springtime, I don't care for Amanda Holden, but she has given credit to Susan for landing the job at CBS Early Morning. Amanda said that she had done interviews in Los Angeles for 15 years and never got a break until CBS noticed her because of Susan's fame. I never heard of BGT, Amanda or Piers until Susan became famous and Brian Williams on his NBC newscast talked about Susan. Then I went to YouTube to check it out and the rest is history. :)

Just a suggestion folks, when ever you send Susan a card, or letter. Say, Thank You for being My Friend.

She said in her Ophra interview she will never be lonely again, as she has made thousands of new friends....

I always sign my messages like that, and it would be nice if others do that, too.
Posted by Lonnirose on June 02, 2009
Dan, it was Susan's brother who confirmed the invitation. I think it's true. I hope it is, 'cause I thanked Prez-O for inviting her.

This article restores a little faith in the media. I remember when journalism was considered a noble profession. After what they did to a gentle soul like Susan, I put them about ten notches below prostitution. Also, how long would Susan have to be on a plane to get here? I'll bet she's never been on a flight that long before or if she's ever even been in a plane at all. P.S. I just checked YouTube and Diversity has a pathetic 4 million views. Even after winning! So who is the real winner?

Some Thoughtful Advice -- worth thinking about. May not agree with all of it, but there might be some valuable things to think about. My friends and I have a bet about the future of Susan "Hairy Angel" Boyle. After her trip to the hospital, do you think she can handle her fame and maintain a career? —Linea, Oak Grove, Ill.

The answer is, in a way, unfortunate. Yes, music insiders tell me, Boyle can have a massive career. But only if she leaps up out of that hospital bed and starts cutting deals right now, whether she's rested and recovered...or not.

"She's not a mainstream singer, so it's not like young people are going to flock to her next year," says music business consultant Daylle Deana Schwartz, who works with independent labels and artists. "So this really is the time to strike. I don't think you can book a tour overnight, but she needs to start getting the ball rolling immediately."

But can Boyle handle it? I've been on the blower all day with celebrity shrinks, talent managers, Industry consultants, publicists, and like your friends, they're deeply divided on whether Boyle is even remotely ready to face her fame.

For the record, officials with Britain's Got Talent said today that Boyle is recovering after an anxiety attack resulting from the pressures of insta-fame. Some of my contacts say that her behavior isn't anything odd, considering the circumstances.

"We should give the lady a pass," says psychiatrist Dr. Paul Dobransky, who works with celebrities in his practice. "I just picture her going without sleep for days on end, preparing nonstop."

But others point out that Boyle may need more than just a bit of R & R if she's going to survive as a pop icon. (Comment:)She may not be trying to be a "Pop Icon"??) In fact her outbursts have indicated she isn't ready for direct exposure to the public, Schwartz tells me. A show official said today that Boyle has no underlying mental problems, but if she wants a Kelly Clarkson-size career, Schwartz says, Boyle may need at least one perk: an entourage.

"Sure, she's ready to perform in front of a large audience," says Schwartz, author of Start & Run Your Own Record Label. "But she doesn't know how to push people away, and I think that's why she screamed and cursed."

If she were Boyle's manager, Schwartz adds, "I would hire a full-time person to travel with her, work with her, talk to her, run interference between her and fans and media."(Comment -- I agree -- this idea is right on)

But regardless of what Boyle actually needs, rest is most likely out of the question.

Translation? Lemme guess. Susan Boyle: The Dream the Dream Tour 2010.

I agree with Wild Dan, take that news with a grain of salt. If it's true, the US Media will follow up with a confirmation from the White House Press Secretary or the like. The media is sure getting ready to launch Susan out on her career again. Nice to see.

Why do people think that only the young have a wish to hear good singing? There are plenty of people above 25 years old on the planet. Susan will always be in demand because she touches people on a soul level and that is our Truth. The soul does not grow old and it is not fickle. That is her true beauty that she has this magnificent connection to her soul and so it is contagious to other souls. My 15 year old niece heard her audition and she was blown away - so why this age judgement?

Here's the article that Ammie mentioned about Susan having an entourage...good idea! This way she can concentrate on her singing. But the entourage needs to keep Susan's best interests in mind and at heart at all times! Its all well and good for us to suggest what's best for Susan. But, its not up to us! From personal experience, as one who is in the public light from time to time, don't believe anything you read and only half of what you hear. How many times I've seen newspaper accounts of events that I've attended including meetings that the newspaper account the next day bore next to no resemblence. here's the arcticle recommending an entourange: http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/ask_the_answer_bitch/b126999_what_now_susan_boyle.html

Oh I hope Susan will be okay! That's terrific!!! Susan is a HERO. She can be a leader for all people with learning disabilities and show them that if you put your mind to it, you can do anything, and to have the COURAGE to try, too! I am the same age as Susan and I also suffer from learning disabilities. My mom is not sure if it was me who had lack of oxygen but one of us had the same problem. I have an older brother and my mom thinks it's my brother because he was premature. But I can sure relate to Susan. I'm unemployed too. I can't work because of social issues - I was diagnosed with PDDNOS - it's almost the same as Asperger's Syndrome. I get really hurt easily, and I have trouble in jobs because I'm not really fast. But I also have a gift like Susan. I design jewelry. I also have some musical ability - perfect pitch. Though I can't sing worth a darn. But I can play piano by ear - and used to do that with the flute. I sure hope Susan makes it! That is just so awesome!

Most famous people are getting famous younger, over time and when they hit a kind of nr. 1 AND THE PAPS BEHIND THEM, they have money to live in a mansion with gates, have body guards and very good managers for everyting almost!! who is helping susan right now??? of course the family is helping her but i mean in the future? Hopefully the bgt, piers, simon and all big shots involved are doing something protect and help her with all the important stuff. BJG, first off I really don't like the reference to Susan as "H____ Angel" It's hurtful, considering that Susan suffered taunts from bullies throughout school re: her eyebrows, etc.

Otherwise, the article is pretty good with the exception that some of them need to realize that Susan is mentally brilliant she and never stated her dream was to become a pop idol. She just wants to sing, make CD's, perform like Elaine Page.

I think the route that Susan first expressed as her desire to succeed in is the route she should be allowed to go.

Posted by Bitsy on June 02, 2009
It never occurred to me that Susan would lose. Nor did it occur to me that it would matter. Her voice and her sweet spirit will last, aided by her formidable courage. Miss Boyle, please take care of yourself. Give "Pebbles" a hug for me! I, too, have a cat, aged 16, named "Tiggy" -- a plain American tabby but whom I love. Bitsy.

Dear Mr. King,

As member of the international Susan Boyle Fanclub I ask you humbly to be the professional you have always been and please don't jump on the wagon of the trashy tabloids wanting to hurt Susan Boyle.

Question for Amanda Holden: Should not everyone realize that Susan has always been a blessing for the world, first as church volunteer and contributor to Blackburn and now embraced by tens of millions on this planet? Should not BGT distance themselves more from the utterly disgusting reports in the tabloids concerning Susan Boyle?

Kind Regards from Belgium, Reinder

Wow Julian Smith narrowly edged out Stavros Flatley for Third place, only a tenth of a percentage. But I think it's great news that the US is taking the lead and showing that Susan may have been a talent hidden away in Britain, but she's going to be a great hit on this side of the pond.

OH NO !!! My wife and I couldn't stop watching the Final song of Susan over the internet and I forgot all about that I had chicken outside cooking on the barbeque....ALL GONE :-( Sure did enjoy Susans singing though :-)
Posted by YourAwesome on June 02, 2009
@reinder..VERY WELL SAID....Hope they take it to heart.
Posted by 281165 on June 02, 2009
I don't believe those percentages for a second. With two danceacts in the final suddenly a 16% gap since the semifinal closed and even up to a 4% lead? NO WAY.

I'm gonna print out this whole comments page from today, pick out the complimentary stuff, paste it up, send it to Susan and say "Here are some of the comments from your fansite". Cause most of ya'll aren't paying attention about posting for her card. But that's OK, you're having fun and so am I.

I keep hearing Gerry Boyle say over and over that Susan is wondering what comes next, does she have any kind of career? Somebody needs to clue her in on what is happening! She hasn't LOST ONE SINGLE FAN. She has THOUSANDS of fans all over the world, who are just waiting for her to put out some music so we can buy it.

I think once she produces an album and sees the money coming in, she's gonna about fall over! I'm might write her about something called an "inner critic." Some of us who got too much criticism in our life, our "inner critic" becomes overactive, hypersensitive to criticism. On that week before the final, with the tabloid journalists going at her, maybe she thought she lost her fans. SUSAN BOYLE, YOU HAVEN'T LOST ONE SINGLE FAN! As soon as you get to feeling better, you have a booming career waiting for you!

Just put out that first ALBUM and see what happens. You'll get to ROME to see Pope Benedict, all right, and then some.

And DON'T LISTEN TO "BJG"" up above on this forum, a big long blabbering post full of swamp gas, about "if you can handle" your career. Some of the stuff that gets on this website, which is SUPPOSED to be supportive of Susan, needs to be censored.
Posted by jordie on June 02, 2009
I am thrilled that Susan has been invited to take part in the July 4th celebrations. And yes....she did put me in mind of Kate Smith right from the beginning. I am sure Susan will be well enough to accept this invitation. IS IT A GIVEN THAT SHE HAS TO GO ON THE BGT TOUR? Is the appearance with the Prague Symphony still on?
Posted by TXNoelle on June 02, 2009
LONNI, you got mail.
Posted by ML on June 02, 2009
Hi everyone!

Retired in Kalifornia, I agree that the Battle Hymn of the Republic would be fantastic!

Texas Lady, I think you're completely right in that Susan thinking she wouldn't have a career DOES endear her all the more to us. She is such a real person with real doubts, feelings and insecurities and so honest about them. Who couldn't relate and love her all the more???

Bohemian Spirit, yes, Mr. Obama does have excellent choice in music!

I do hope we can keep politics out of this and agree to come together in our fanship for Susan.

I was delighted to hear she is doing better. I have a great deal of anxiety and I know how it can knock you for a loop sometimes. Rest up!
Posted by TXNoelle on June 02, 2009
G'night, GERAMSTERDAM. You and the missus have a good one.
Posted by mimi2 on June 02, 2009
Also, my reply to the post by "BJG"" is SUSAN you have all the time in the world. Just get well. Take the time off you need. We'll all be right here waiting for you!!!

thnx reinder....great letter I luv the SusanBoyleFanClub stuff.
Posted by mdillow31 on June 02, 2009
Thanks for posting those percentages again. :)

Also, I would think Simon should learn a lesson for AGT after this. But again some have hardheads and never learn anything. I am waiting for Larry King live because I am hoping the question I asked to Amanda about the investigation of BGT gets answered. Bet if it is, she will say she doesn't know. LOL !
Posted by GritsT on June 02, 2009
Hi all.....popping in for a moment from work. I'm wondering, knowing that Susan herself doesn't have a computer, if her brother Gerry has one.....he seems like a pretty worldly chap............does he know about this website?
Posted by Lonnirose on June 02, 2009
You know what else? Recording is a lot easier than standing on a stage singing. It's very private, and they have tons of equipment to adjust the volumes, etc., plus they give you these earphone-type things so you can really get into the music. Less pressure for the singer, lots of help, and all the do-overs you want. Susan would be comfortable doing that, at least right now.
Posted by TXNoelle on June 02, 2009
AZJANET, you got mail.
Posted by AmazinglyCritical on June 02, 2009
Wait until she steps off the plane in The United States. She won't have to worry in the least on whether or not she'll have a singing career. This is so exciting. I really hope she is getting well. The world is still talking about her and I think she's taken a step from celebrity to ICON. You're a celebrity when the general public talks about you. You become an ICON when celebrities start talking about you. You keep hearing everyone say they don't know what to think. Simon said he don't know what to really think about all this. That's because we all have one thing in common. We all want to hear a healthy Susan sing. The selfishness in us wants to hear it immediate but for the well being of our ICON, we want to make sure she's healthy and doesn't become exhausted again to where it makes her bed ridden. Take your time Susan and there's no reason to rush all the time. We'll always be here waiting to listen to what you have to sing about.
Posted by YourAwesome on June 02, 2009
@MIMI..Susan is gaining fans daily!!! She is our bright and shining STAR....We are happy when she is happy..We are sad when she is sad. AND SO ON ..and so on... We are the happy new family of women and men around the world. How great is that!!! BUT Just for us women..we are "THE Ya Ya Sisterhood of SUSAN" Not a cult but close..! lol :) Out to protect Susan however we can!!
Posted by TXNoelle on June 02, 2009
Absotively, posolutely, LONNI! I totally agree. It would give her more confidence to do things that way at first, so she could recv the reassurance of the CD MEGA-sales from her efforts.
Posted by weapa123 on June 02, 2009
Susan, you won as soon as you stepped on stage for the first time. No one can ever beat you. You are one of a kind. Love you always. Can not wait, to see and hear more of you. Jose
Posted by PhyllisIA on June 02, 2009
Susanandpebbles, I agree. We are starting to sound very neg to the UK and that's where Susan is from and will go back too. Let's not get into a war over who will treat her the best. This is not a perfect country, guys, at least not that I've seen. I love America, but ....Tone it down; this is a international site.
Posted by songbirdwatcher on June 02, 2009
I BELIEVE THE OBAMA INVITATION IS MOST LIKELY TRUE, AFTER ALL, HE HAS ALREADY ASKED HER TO COME TO THE WHITEHOUSE PREVIOUSLY, & SUSAN DECLINED. I AM NOT AN OBAMA SUPPORTER BUT IF HE DID INDEED ASK HER, HE HAS RISEN IN MY EYES. I CAN'T BELIEVE HOW MUCH I CARE ABOUT SUSAN BOYLE!, I GUESS THERE IS A LITTLE SUSAN BOYLE IN ALL OF US, SO WE CAN REALLY IDENTIFY WITH HER(ONLY I CAN'T SING AT ALL).I AM STILL TEMPTED TO SEND NASTY E-MAILS TO THE VARIOUS TABLOIDS, TELLING THEM THEY BETTER LAY OFF SUSAN, OR THEIR SALES WILL BE ALMOST NON-EXISTENT, FROM THE BAD PRESS THEY WILL RECEIVE, (WHAT'IS GOOD FOR THE FOR THE GOOSE,IS GOOD FOR THE GANDER). KEEP ON TRUCKIN, SUSAN, WE ALL LOVE YOU!MICHIGAN, USA

Posted by mdillow31 on June 02, 2009
Larry King live is here central time at 8 PM-9PM.

Three more hours to go. I really want to hear Amanda explain why BGT didn't protect Susan from that blasted press.
Posted by TXNoelle on June 02, 2009
MRLSCAN, TommyUSA may be busy working on something. Give him time. We'll see him before long.

DONNOLA, I love ya more 'n my luggage, cher. Don't you go far!

I hope everyone will keep Susan Boyle's open-armed gracious attitude in the front of their mind and be EXCELLENT! to one another as "Bill and Ted" would say.
Posted by Lonnirose on June 02, 2009
Awesome - I love it!!!
Posted by PIGGIE on June 02, 2009
@YourAwesome - there seems to be a majority of womenfolk fans, but not sure TommyUSA and David would want to be part of a Sisterhood!
Posted by JRH2063 on June 02, 2009
It says something about the state of civilisation in the developed countries of the West that President Obama has extended Susan the invitation to sing before any request from the Queen of England. I say this from the viewpoint of a UK citizen. The way that Susan has been treated by the UK media and show organisers in the past few weeks is a complete disgrace to my country
Posted by TXNoelle on June 02, 2009
OMG, REINDER! Don't exhaust yourself! Can you set a timer on a recorder and record Larry King while you sleep?

YA, "The Ya Ya Sisterhood of Susan" is a good one. Maybe we can change it to Susaspeak and call it "The Ya Ya Susisterhood." Only thing is, it leaves the guy out in the cold. I'll hafta think about that.

Just read this article: http://www.gulf-times.com/site/topics/article.asp?cu_no=2&item_no=294585&version=1&template_id=38&parent_id=20 These articles are making me crazy - even the ones that take bgt to task make it seem like SUSAN is the problem - that she wasn't mentally fit for the show and that the bgt people failed to assess her mental fitness. The REAL problem is that bgt didn't act to protect her from the paparazzi shark attack - Susan's as tough as anyone. I've had times in my life that have left me pretty non-functional and NONE of them compare to what she's had to face.

Grrrr....
Posted by YourAwesome on June 02, 2009
piggie..That name is just for us gals..of course...but if the guys want to join they can put on skirts be scottish..I think Susan might like seeing TOMMYUSA in a skirt!! :) snickering Tommy!! LOVE YA :)
Posted by TXNoelle on June 02, 2009
JRH2063, the QE bowled over the BGT execs when she extended a pre-finals invitation for Susan to sing in the Royal Variety. There's been no word since, but it doesn't mean that something isn't in the works for Susan, royally speaking.
Posted by BoyleFan on June 02, 2009
Sorry, NO! Personally, I'm pinning my hopes on President Obama and I really want Susan to succeed, but I believe that it would be an insult to the Queen for Susan to sing at the celebration of America's Independence from Britain, especially as the drive for Scottish independence is still alive and well. The poor woman has enough on her plate without getting her involved in political matters. Susan should sing for Her Majesty before she sings for President Obama or for any other head of state. A compromise might be for Susan to give a public concert at DAR Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C., which the President and his family could attend in a private capacity. I'd be there!
Posted by camisu11 on June 02, 2009
I think we need a counter for all the comments! I can't believe how many there are just on this article alone! I LOVE YOU SUSAN BOYLE! I know there are some very loving Brits on this site. If Obama is inviting Susan on our Independence Day, wouldn't it be nice to have your Prime Minister and Queen invite her to sing at an event?
Posted by mdillow31 on June 02, 2009
TXNoelle, I lost that on Donnola. What did I lose ? I don't think I am staying up till 5 AM anymore. HAHA !!

@TXNoelle: Don't worry, when I was younger I was an even wilder beast! :-)
Posted by TXNoelle on June 02, 2009
SOCKMONKEY, scroll back, chere. There's some pretty great NEW NEWS articles' links posted above in some posts, showing that Susan's problem is only that she's got anxiety issues and is doing very well. There's nothing wrong with her mental state nor does she have any mental deficiencies or mental illness.
Posted by mdillow31 on June 02, 2009
Hey, that is good YourAwesome... men in skirts. Get those bagpipes ready guys !! LOL !

The singer Enya mostly sings in studios and releases recordings. Susan can record in the comfort & security of a studio and forego live concerts. She may chose to sing in smaller venues closer to home, or not. It's what makes her comfortable....if she does not want to feel the pressure of it all!

Posted by TXNoelle on June 02, 2009
JRH2063, the announcement was made on the official BGT website.
Posted by Singing Soul on June 02, 2009
Perhaps I've missed this in an earlier post but there is an e-mail address for the Queen where we can request that she invite Susan to sing for her. She's been a bit slow on the uptake so perhaps we can give her a prod? webeditor@royal.gsx.gov.uk
Posted by TXNoelle on June 02, 2009
LOL, JC! Wake up an' smell dat coffee! YA's goin' on about startin' up a "Ya Ya Sisterhood for Susan" and I said that would leave the menz out and she said they could join if they all wear kilts. I just wanna see what's gonna be under those kilts. (wiggles eyebrows)
